Esports World Cup 2026 announces prize pool over whopping Rs20 billion

The Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF) has unveiled a staggering $75 million (over 20 billion Pakistani rupees) prize pool for the 2026 edition of the world’s largest esports event, set to take place in Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh from July 6 through August 23.

More than 2,000 players representing 200 clubs from over 100 countries will compete across 25 tournaments and 24 games during the seven-week spectacle.

“The life-changing prize pool exists to support the people at the heart of esports: the players and the clubs that invest in them year after year,” said Ralf Reichert, CEO of the Esports World Cup Foundation.

“EWC is different because of the Club Championship. One title crowns a champion. EWC crowns the ultimate cross-game Club Champion,” he added.

The flagship EWC Club Championship will distribute $30 million among the top 24 clubs, marking a $3 million increase from last year. The winning club alone will take home $7 million. Last year’s championship came down to the final week, with seven clubs battling for the title in the closing stages.

Individual game championships will carry prize pools exceeding $39 million combined. The remaining funds will go toward club and player awards, including MVP honors for each tournament and the Jafonso Award for competitors who win championships after advancing through Last Chance Qualifiers.

The 2026 lineup features 24 competitive titles, with new additions Fortnite and Trackmania joining returning favorites like League of Legends, Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, VALORANT, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, EA Sports FC 26, PUBG, PUBG Mobile and Street Fighter 6.

Competitions will run across multiple arenas simultaneously, allowing several championships to take place in parallel throughout the seven-week schedule.

Tickets go on sale January 22 at esportsworldcup.com and through international partners, including Webook, Platinumlist, Damai, Maiseat and Tixr.

Early bird options include weekly access passes, premium tournament passes and hospitality packages.

The 2025 Esports World Cup drew 750 million viewers worldwide and generated 350 million hours watched, with peak concurrent viewership hitting 7.98 million during the League of Legends tournament.
