Mohammad Nawaz among nominees for ICC men’s player of the month

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the shortlisted players for the Men’s Player of the Month award for November 2025, with Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz making it to the list.

Other nominees include South African off-spinner Simon Harmer and Bangladesh’s leading Test wicket-taker Taijul Islam.

“A trio of standout performers from South Africa, Bangladesh and Pakistan have been nominated for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award in November,” the ICC said in a statement.

His nomination comes after Nawaz shone in Pakistan’s home season across white-ball formats and played a key role in Pakistan’s tri-series win over Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.

In ODIs, he scored 104 runs at an average of 52 with a strike rate of 114.28 and took four wickets. In T20Is, he scored 52 runs and claimed 11 wickets at an average of 12.72. His match-winning 3-17 in the tri-series final against Sri Lanka also earned him the Player of the Series award.

Meanwhile, Simon Harmer earned his nomination with a remarkable performance in South Africa’s Test series against India. He took 17 wickets at an average of 8.94, helping the Proteas secure their first 2-0 series win in India since 2000.

Harmer claimed eight wickets in the opening Test and nine in the second, winning the Player of the Series award.

Taijul Islam impressed in Bangladesh’s home series against Ireland. The left-arm spinner took 13 wickets at an average of 26.30, finishing as the leading wicket-taker of the series.

The ICC will announce the winner of the Men’s Player of the Month award in the coming days.
