In a significant breakthrough in Punjabi Singer Sidhu Moose Wala murder case, Delhi Police on Monday claimed to have arrested two shooters and their one associate in the sensational murder of the Punjabi rapper.

The detainees have been identified as Priyavrat and Kashish (suspected shooter) and their accomplice Keshu Kumar.

Police recovered hazardous grenades, a grenade launcher, an assault rifle(AK-47), detonators, and some pistols from the suspects. All the suspected convicts were arrested in Gujarat, India.

Earlier, Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar claimed responsibility for organising the rapper’s murder and was in touch with the shooters on the morning of the crime.

Shooters were ordered to kill Sidhu with guns and if guns don’t work, they were even ready to kill him in a blast.

So far, the Special Investigation Team has arrested 10 people, including Lawrence Bishnoi, on charges of alleged involvement in the murder of Sidhu Musa Wala and identified four shooters involved in the incident.

Moose Wala rose to prominence with catchy songs attacking rival rappers and politicians, presenting himself as a man who can fight for the pride of his community, and justice.

  • Tesla sued by former employees for laying off staff illegally

Tesla sued by former employees for laying off staff illegally

Former Tesla employees have filed a lawsuit alleging that the company’s decision to lay off about 10 per cent of its workforce violated federal law by failing to provide the required advance notice.

Two Tesla workers filed the lawsuit late Sunday in Texas, alleging that they were fired from the company’s gigafactory plant in Sparks, Nevada, in June. More than 500 workers were laid off at the Nevada factory, according to the lawsuit.

According to the lawsuit, the workers claim the company failed to follow federal laws on mass layoffs, which require a 60-day notice period under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act. They are requesting class-action status for all former Tesla employees who were laid off without warning in May or June across the United States.

“Tesla has simply notified the employees that their terminations would be effective immediately,” the complaint said. Tesla, which has not commented on the numbers of layoffs, did not immediately respond to requests for comment about the lawsuit.

According to an email received by Reuters, Tesla CEO Elon Musk, the wealthiest man, said earlier this month that he had a “super bad feeling” about the financial system and that the corporation would have to cut staff by about 10 per cent. According to online postings and discussions with Reuters, more than 20 people claiming to be Tesla employees said they were laid off, let go, or had their jobs terminated this month.

John Lynch and Daxton Hartsfield, who were fired on June 10 and June 15, respectively, have filed a lawsuit seeking pay and benefits for the 60-day notice period.

“It’s pretty shocking that Tesla would just blatantly violate federal labor law by laying off so many workers without providing the required notice,” Shannon Liss-Riordan, an attorney representing the workers told Reuters.

She claims Tesla is only offering a few employees one week of severance, and she is getting ready for an urgent motion with the court to prevent Tesla from attempting to obtain employee releases in exchange for only one week of severance. The lawsuit was dismissed by Musk as “trivial”.

The electric-car manufacturer, which is now headquartered in Austin, has about 100,000 employees worldwide and has been rapidly hiring in recent months. Many people were caught off guard by the job cuts, which impacted everyone from human resources to software engineers.

According to reports, The petitioners are seeking monetary damages, as well as attorneys’ fees and costs, for the 60 days following their termination notice.

Following the filing of a lawsuit by former Tesla employees alleging that the automaker violated US labour laws, Elon Musk has sought to clarify how many workers will lose their jobs.

Musk said at a Bloomberg event on Tuesday that Tesla would trim its salaried workforce by 10 per cent in the next three months while increasing the number of hourly workers.

He clarified that the company will reduce salaried headcount by 10 per cent while increasing hourly staffing.

The tech mogul said was of the view that the layoffs would affect about 3.5 per cent of Tesla’s total workforce, but that the exact number was “not super material.” He added that salaried employees make up about two-thirds of Tesla’s workforce.

Counter-Terrorism Department warns of assassination threat against Imran Khan

The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD)’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) wing has issued a warning that terrorists are planning the assassination of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, reports Daily Jang.

According to the publication, terrorists have given the responsibility to an Afghan assassin to target Khan. However, the assassin handed over the responsibility to others.

Several PTI leaders have expressed concerns about the threat to Khan’s life.

Former Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry tweeted in April that a plot to assassinate Khan was reported by security agencies. Therefore, Khan’s security was also increased.

PTI leader Faisal Vawda had also said that a conspiracy was being hatched to assassinate the then-premier over his refusal to “sell the country”.

Vawda made these claims on ARY News show “Off the Record” in response to a question about a letter that Khan brandished at the PTI’s March 27 power show in Islamabad and claimed it contained “evidence” of a “foreign conspiracy” to topple his government.

He also said that the then prime minister was told multiple times that bulletproof glass needed to be installed before his dais at the March 27 rally. “But as always and as usual, he said my [death] will come when Allah wills. Don’t worry about it,” Vawda quoted Khan as saying.

  • Baby’s head cut in womb in Tharparkar

Baby’s head cut in womb in Tharparkar

A 32-year-old Hindu woman from a village in Chhachhro, Tharparkar, delivered a dead breech baby girl at a charity hospital on June 16.

Breech delivery is when a baby’s bottom comes out first during the delivery.

In Chhachhro the hospital staff tried to deliver the breech baby’s head for half an hour but failed. After failing to deliver the rest of the baby, the hospital staff cut off the head before the mother was sent to Mithi hospital. The procedure was done in the absence of a gynaecologist and female staffers. The woman was then taken to the Mithi district headquarters hospital, where she was advised to rush to Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences, Jamshoro (LUH), which was 220 km away from Mithi. Altogether, she had to travel 319 km with the baby’s head inside her womb.

According to the baby’s father, they had an X-ray taken from a hospital, where the doctor had told him that his wife would have an operation because the baby was upside down in the mother’s womb. According to him, the doctor also told him the date of delivery. He said that as soon as his wife’s condition deteriorated, he took her to a local midwife who said that she was not feeling well, after which he took his wife to the hospital.

In LUH, an abdomen surgery was performed on her and the baby’s head was taken out after 18 hours of back-to-back delivery pains. This was the woman’s fifth child who died during delivery.

Prof Dr Raheel Sikandar of LUH said that usually breech babies are delivered and they survive. According to him, the woman had a ruptured uterus.

“Healthcare providers [in Chhachhro] might have tried to save the baby, but in vain. The baby’s head was entrapped. In such breech baby cases, deaths occur in one minute if they are not fully delivered.”

“The baby’s buttocks and legs were fully developed, but unfortunately it was a dead breech baby,” Dr Sikandar added. However, the woman’s life has been saved. She is currently admitted to the gynecology unit of LUH.

The charity hospital in Chhachhro said that while the nurses were cleaning the patient, the dead baby’s torso detached from the neck because the neck had already been broken. They revealed that at the time they didn’t have any gynaecologist, which is why they could not operate. The hospital further claimed that the woman’s family was told to go to Mithi but they insisted on getting the treatment at the charity hospital, reports BBC Urdu.

    Action taken by the authorities:

A notification issued by the Director-General (DG) Sindh Health on Saturday stated: “The fetus was not in a cephalic position. So the head got stuck after delivering the torso because the delivery was done by inexperienced hands.” DG Sindh Health said that an investigation has been started in which the statements of the staff of the missionary hospital have been recorded. An inquiry was also ordered by the provincial health secretary.

Pakistan has the highest infant mortality rate in South Asia. According to the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF), the country reported 54 infant deaths per 1,000 live births.

News of infant deaths and the non-availability of doctors in hospitals have been circulating in the media for the last decade in Tharparkar. Several times, this issue was brought up in the Supreme Court (SC), High Court, and the Sindh Assembly but all in vain.

Pakistani rupee dips to new lows

Experts predict that the Pakistan rupee will continue to fall against the US dollar and other major currencies owing to concerns regarding the IMF’s $6 billion program’s restoration, the country’s expanding current account deficit, and dwindling foreign exchange reserves.

The PKR which lost 32.5 per cent of its value in the current financial year 2021-22 is forecasted to remain under stress as the dollar is in high demand in the market due to economic crises.

The central bank appears helpless to stem the rupee’s speculative fall, as demand for the US dollar continues to rise due to quarter-end payment strain.
