    Instagram’s repeated stories glitch in iPhones fixed in newer version

    On iPhones, Instagram stories have been acting up for certain users, forcing them to go through all of someone’s stories before being allowed to see new ones.

    Since Monday, numerous users have been afflicted by the problem, and other Reddit users have complained that the same thing is occurring to them’.

    The source of the problem appears to be that Instagram forgets where you left off when viewing someone’s story.

    For example, if a user uploads five stories and you look at four of them before swiping away, you should see their fifth story the next time you tap on their symbol. Instead, each time you want to view the story, Instagram forces you to go back through the four you have previously seen.

    When someone adds a new story to their feed, the problem occurs as well.

    According to The Verge, Instagram released an update for the app in the iOS App Store on Wednesday morning that appears to have fixed the problem.

    In case, you’re having problems, check for updates and make sure your app is up to date, to the latest version, which is v239.1.

    The update notes only state that “the current version provides bug fixes and performance enhancements,” yet netizens claim that it has solved the problem of repeating Stories.

    In an email to The Verge, Meta representative Christine Pai said the business is “aware that some customers are having problems accessing Instagram Stories”.

    Pai apologised for the disruption and stated that Instagram is “trying to bring everything back to normal as quickly as possible”.

    The exact number of users that have been affected is unknown. Many twitterati are saying that they have to replay stories on Instagram, still the platform is not that massively trending.

    Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) General-Secretary Asad Umar in a press conference along with former Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari demanded the formation of a judicial commission on the alleged “foreign conspiracy” to oust former Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan from power.

    Umar said that it would be better for the army and the country if the Inter-services Public Relations (ISPR) Director-General (DG) Major-General Babar Iftikhar doesn’t find it necessary to interpret political affairs again and again.

    Umar said Khan will again write to Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial to constitute a judicial panel and hold a transparent inquiry into the matter.

    “It was a clear threat. It was written that if the no-confidence motion fails, Pakistan would have to pay the price and if Imran Khan is shown the door, then Pakistan will be forgiven.”

    He said that it is the people’s right to know the facts and who was behind the move.

    Umar said that the party still wants this to be investigated by a judicial panel and an open hearing conducted.

    “[The] DG ISPR is right in saying that some of the military leadership representatives actually said that they cannot see any evidence of a conspiracy. Most of the civilian leadership said there was a conspiracy,” Umar said.

    Military’s opinion on national security issues is not final word: Asad Umar

    Umar on Tuesday while speaking on Hum News political talk show with anchorperson Meher Bokhari said, “At the outset, you were asking me a question that since it is a matter of national security so the army has a final word on the issue, [but] with due respect, I don’t agree with this.”

    Umar’s comments were relevant to DG ISPR’s statement that no conspiracy was hatched to oust Khan. He said that the military leadership was present in the National Security Council (NSC) meeting and the participants were clearly briefed by the intelligence agencies.

    “[They were] briefed that there was no conspiracy or evidence of any kind [against the then government], nothing like that happened. Participants were told in detail that there was no evidence of any conspiracy,” said the DG ISPR.

    OGDCL confirms gas discovery near Ghotki, Sindh

    On Wednesday, the Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) announced the finding of gas from an exploration well near Ghotki, Sindh.

    “The joint venture (JV) of Guddu Block comprising Oil & Gas Development Company Limited as an operator (70 per cent), SPUD Energy PTY Limited (SEPL) (13.5 per cent), IPR Transoil Corporation (IPRTOC) (11.5 per cent), and Government Holdings (Private) Limited (GHPL) (5 percent) has discovered Gas from an exploratory well namely Umair South East # 01, which is located in District Ghotki, Sindh,” the company stated in a notice.

    The Umair South East # 01 well, according to OGDCL, was spudded on May 9, 2022, as an exploration well to investigate the hydrocarbon potential of the Pirkoh Formation and Habib Rahi Limestone (HRL) to a projected depth of 785m.

    “Based on the interpretation of wireline logs, successful Drill Stem Test-1 in HRL tested 1.063 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) gas through choke size 32/64” at 210 pounds per square inch (PSi) Well Head Flowing Pressure (WHFP)”.

    The finding of Umair South East-1 is the outcome of Guddu Joint Venture Partners’ aggressive exploration approach, according to the Pakistani oil and gas business.

    “It has opened a new route and will favourably contribute to alleviating energy demand and supply gaps from indigenous resources, while also adding to OGDCL’s and the country’s hydrocarbon reserves base,” it said.

    The discovery comes at a fortunate time for Pakistan, which has recently experienced huge power outages and a gas scarcity.

    Mari Petroleum Company Limited (MPCL) discovered gas/condensate earlier this month in the Bannu West-1 ST-1 Exploration Well, which was drilled in the Bannu West Block in North Waziristan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

    Air pollution reduces life expectancy by two years worldwide: Report

    A recent study revealed that microscopic air pollution, mostly generated by the combustion of fossil fuels, affects life expectancy by more than two years globally.

    According to a report by the University of Chicago’s Energy Policy Institute, if fine particulate matter levels across South Asia reached World Health Organization criteria, the typical individual would live five years longer.

    The severe lung and heart illness caused by so-called PM2.5 pollution reduce life expectancy by eight years in the Indian states of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, home to 300 million people, and by a decade in the capital city of New Delhi.

    PM2.5 pollution penetrates deep into the lungs and reaches the circulation, with a diameter of 2.5 microns or smaller, nearly the same as a human hair. It was declared a cancer-causing substance by the United Nations in 2013.

    According to the WHO, the concentration of PM2.5 in the air should not exceed 15 micrograms per cubic metre in any 24-hour period, or 5 mcg/m3 on an annual basis.

    The WHO strengthened these guidelines last year, the first revision since air quality guidance was established in 2005, in response to accumulating evidence of harmful health effects.

    In the Air Quality Life Index report, lead researcher Crista Hasenkopf and colleagues stated, “Clean air pays back in additional years of life for individuals all over the world.” “Reducing global air pollution to WHO recommendations permanently would add 2.2 years to average life expectancy.”

    Almost every inhabited region on the planet exceeds WHO limits, but not more so than Asia: Bangladesh, India, Nepal, and Pakistan all exceed WHO guidelines by 15-fold, 10-fold, and nine-fold, respectively.

    Two separate budget sessions have been called in Punjab on Wednesday (today). Governor Punjab Balighur Rehman has called for a 2pm session at Aiwan-i-Iqbal while Speaker Punjab Assembly (PA) Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has called for a 1pm session at the provincial assembly.

    The session at Aiwan-i-Iqbal will be presided over by PA Deputy Speaker Dost Mohammad Mazari.

    According to news reports, Elahi has termed the session at Aiwan-i-Iqbal “illegal”.

    However, according to Geo News, legal experts say that session cannot be resumed when prorogued by the Governor, as he is the head of the province, and the Speaker cannot summon another session. Therefore, the session summoned by Governor Punjab is the legitimate one.

    Responding to the crisis, former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry said, “Even in the martial law governments, it was never said that the assembly would be subordinate to the administration. The PML-N and PPP alliance has done a strange thing today; the Ordinance issued by the Governor is a martial law proclamation.”

    Delay of budget session for two days

    For two days, the Assembly was unable to present the budget for the new fiscal year (2022-23). On Tuesday, when the PA proceedings could not continue, Governor Rehman cancelled the ongoing session and summoned another one, which has started. However, despite the Governor’s orders, Speaker Elahi declared that the session would continue.

    At that point, Chief Minister (CM) Hamza Shehbaz announced he would come up with another strategy to deal with the problem.

    On Monday, Speaker Elahi refused to conduct the budget session and demanded that the Inspector General of Police (IGP) should apologise to him for what took place on April 16 and withdraw all cases lodged against the PTI and Pakistan Muslim League- Quaid (PML-Q) members.

    WhatsApp and Apple have announced that data from the Android chat app will now be ported to iOS. The feature will be available in WhatsApp’s beta version. It will be phased in over the course of a week to reach all users.

    Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the development in a Facebook post.

    “We’re adding to WhatsApp the ability to securely switch between phones and transfer your chat history, photos, videos, and voice messages between Android and iPhone while maintaining end-to-end encryption. This is a top requested feature. We launched the ability to switch from iPhone–>Android last year, and now adding Android–>iPhone as well,” he wrote in a Facebook post.

    To transfer the data, your Android smartphone must be running Android 5 or higher, and your iPhone must be running iOS 15.5 or higher.

    Last year, the feature to move WhatsApp data from iOS to Android was launched.

    An oil change is a ‘small’ fraction of the money you have to spend every 12 months to keep the French beauty in great shape. If you break the exterior, things get even worse.

    We’re well aware of the exorbitant price of maintaining a Bugatti, yet the internet continues to surprise us with independent postings of OEM Chiron parts.

    The most outrageous example seen so far is the front-end component from a Chiron Super Sport 300+ shared by CarScoops, which is priced at Rs81.5 million ($399,999). In Pakistan, you can buy a nice house in Defence Housing Authority, Lahore, and even save some money with this sum.

    Consider the following scenario: you’ve scraped the roof of your gleaming Bugatti Chiron, but you don’t want to go to the brand’s official shop to save some money.     SGR Automotive recently posted an ad on Instagram for a Bugatti Chiron roof assembly. It is still unclear where this component originates from, but the seller claims it’s an OEM part in excellent shape. The available photographs show a spotless blue roof assembly with no blemishes on the paint or carbon fiber structure.

    It’s worth noting that the roof component of the Chiron is considerably more than a mere panel covering the passenger compartment. It is a structural element of the Chiron’s chassis and plays an important function in the supercar’s monocoque. Needless to say, even minor flaws in the Chiron’s carbon-fiber structure might significantly impact its cornering performance.

    A roof assembly is priced at Rs11.20 million ($55,000) by SGR Automotive. Well, that’s enough to get you a nice new Toyota Fortuner 2022 in Pakistan, but in the Bugatti world, 55 grand is practically nothing. If this roof piece is an OEM part, it’s definitely well worth the money, since a new fuel tank costs Rs8.96 million ($44,000)  to replace.

    Director-General (DG) Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Babar Iftikhar said on Tuesday that the military’s leadership believes that former Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General (retd) Pervez Musharraf should return to Pakistan.

    “In such a situation, the institution and leadership’s stance is that Pervez Musharraf should return,” said DG ISPR in Dunya News programme, ‘On The Front with Kamran Shahid’.

    “Musharraf Saab is seriously ill. We have contacted his family. Once his family responds and the doctors allow him to travel, we can make the required arrangements.”

    Nawaz Sharif urges govt to facilitate Musharraf’s return

    Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif urged the government to facilitate Musharraf’s return to the country.

    “I have no personal enmity or animosity towards Pervez Musharraf. I don’t want anyone else to suffer the traumas I have had to endure for my loved ones. I pray to Almighty Allah for his health. If he wants to return to Pakistan, the government should facilitate him,” said Nawaz in a tweet.

    Pre-monsoon rain-wind/thundershowers are expected in most parts of Pakistan starting from Wednesday (June 15), according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

    Heavy rainfall is expected in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Jhelum, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Lahore, Kasur and Sheikhupura on June 16 and June 17. It may cause urban flooding in Rawalpindi and Lahore.

    Heavy rainfall is also expected in Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan from June 14 to June 23.

    Rain-wind/thundershowers (with isolated heavy falls) are expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Mansehra, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Swabi, Nowshera, Kurram, Kohat, Waziristan, Lakki Marwat, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan from June 15 to June 22 with occasional gaps.

    Rain-wind/thundershowers with isolated heavy falls are expected in Sibbi, Bolan, Naseerabad, Jhal Magsi, Mastung, Barkhan, Ziarat, Zhob, Quetta, Kalat, Khuzdar, Chaman and Harnai from June 17 (evening/night) to June 20.

    Hot and dry weather in most parts of Sindh with chances of dust-thunderstorm/rain in Sukkur, Jacobabad and Larkana from June 17 to June 19.
