Govt to set up a commission to look into foreign conspiracy issue

Federal Minister for Information and newly appointed Law Minister Fawad Chaudhry has reportedly given directions to set up a commission on the foreign conspiracy issue.

The commission will look into factors such as the change of government and the no-confidence motion through a foreign conspiracy and will compile a report on it.

The federal minister also has issued orders to replace dozens of legal officers in major cities, i.e. Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore and has directed them to perform their duties in an efficient manner.

On April 1, Chaudhry was given additional charge of the law ministry.

Earlier, Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan claimed that the Opposition’s no-trust move is part of an alleged “foreign-funded conspiracy” hatched against his government.

Later, in an address, PM Khan named the United States of America (USA) behind this conspiracy.

However, White House Communications Director Kate Bedingfield said, “There is absolutely no truth to the allegation.”

CM Punjab will not be elected today, says Secretary Punjab Assembly

Punjab Assembly (PA) was scheduled to elect the new leader of the house following Usman Buzdar’s resignation today. PA session was to begin at 11am but is yet to get underway.

Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi is the government’s candidate for the CM slot while Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hamza Shehbaz is the joint Opposition’s candidate.

Talking to the media on Saturday, Punjab Assembly Secretary Muhammad Khan Bhatti said only the schedule would be issued in today’s assembly session and “there will be no [other] proceeding”.

To be elected as chief minister, a candidate will need at least 186 votes in the 371-member house.

The Punjab government had de-notified Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar after the acceptance of his resignation but in the same notification allowed him “to continue to hold office until his successor enters upon the office”.

Buzdar’s resignation was accepted by Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar on Friday, followed by an immediate summoning of the PA session for today in order to elect the new provincial chief.

Buzdar had presented his resignation to Prime Minister Imran Khan on March 28.

  • Apple’s new iOS update to fix battery drain issues for iPhones, iPads

Apple is rolling out a new series of software updates for its gadgets. This update includes both iOS 15.4.1 and iPadOS 15.4.1 for all compatible iPhones and iPads.

This may seem like a small update with no new features, as the number incrementation clearly suggests.

However, it claims to increase something that we are sure is quite essential to the majority of Apple users: battery life. The recent reports state that installing this patch will resolve the battery drain issues that were supposedly triggered with the release of iOS 15.4 just a short while ago.

A workaround for Braille devices (a touch reading and writing method for blind users) becoming unresponsive while navigating text or showing an alert is also included, as well as a fix for Made for iPhone hearing devices (made for Apple) losing connection within select third-party apps.

Other, unspecified bug fixes and performance improvements may also be included, but the major hype is all about the fix for battery drain issues.

If your iPhone or iPad becomes extremely hungry following the iOS or iPadOS 15.4 version, you should go to Settings and install iOS 15.4.1 or iPadOS 15.4.1 which should be available for all devices by now.
