Pakistani television actress and host Maria Wasti shared a few interesting remarks on political leaders, especially Bilawal Bhutto and Maryam Nawaz.

The actress said: “Who told you that?” She answered no for both the political leaders.

She added: “I think both are equal. It depends on which of them makes you laugh more. I think we will not get anything from politicians or the government in any way. I’m not very hopeful.”

She then went on to choose Bilawal as the leader with funnier speeches amongst the two. Maria also gave suggestions to Prime Minister Imran Khan, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and former President Asif Ali Zardari.

‘Good things happen to good people,’ Babar Azam, Ramiz Raja congratulate NZ on winning World Test Championship

Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam, Ramiz Raja and several members from the cricket fraternity took to social media to congratulate New Zealand for winning the inaugural World Test Championship (WTC) title. The black caps defeated India by eight wickets at The Ageas Bowl in Southampton, on Wednesday.

Taking to Twitter, Babar wrote: “Congratulations to New Zealand on this remarkable feat. WTC is indeed a premier contest and you can’t succeed without perseverance and dedication. Team India also put up a great show throughout the tournament. Awesome contest!”

Former Pakistani cricketer and commentator Raja said: “Good things happen to good people. Congrats Kane Williamson.”

“Congrats @BLACKCAPS on winning the #WTC21. You were the superior team. #TeamIndia will be disappointed with their performance. As I had mentioned the first 10 overs will be crucial & Flag of India lost both Kohli & Pujara in the space of 10 balls & that put a lot of pressure on the team,” tweeted Indian cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar.

Virender Sehwag praised Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor for their match-winning partnership. “Missed being 50-over champions 2 years ago in the same country, but winning the inaugural World test Championship in style, many congratulations @BLACKCAPS , absolutely worthy champions. Happy for Kane Williamson and @RossLTaylor”, he tweeted.

Former New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum took to Twitter to pass on his wishes to Kane Williamson and his team. “To Kane and all of the boys, We love you”, he wrote on Twitter.

Test cricket legend VVS Laxman also congratulated New Zealand for their win in the WTC Final. He tweeted, “Congratulations @BLACKCAPS on being deserving champions. NZ bowlers were terrific, Williamson & Taylor brought in their experience to finish the job. Indian batsman will rue not playing to potential in 2nd innings, but India can be proud of the way they played the WTC cycle.”

“Congratulations NZ” started trending on Twitter even before the New Zealand openers Tom Latham and Devon Conway came out to bat.

New Zealand’s four-pronged pace attack led by Tim Southee produced an excellent exhibition of seam bowling on the reserve day of the WTC final against India to bowl them out for a score of just 170 in the third innings of the match.

India set a target of 139 runs. New Zealand reached 140 for two in 45.5 overs, winning by eight wickets. Williamson smashed 52 runs off 89 balls, packed with eight fours. Meanwhile, Taylor, who hit the winning boundary, slammed an unbeaten knock of 47 off 100 balls.

Customer leaves $16,000 tip at a restaurant in US

A customer left a $16,000 tip at a restaurant in the United States after ordering $37.93 worth of food and drinks earlier this month.

As per reports, the anonymous customer gave the generous tip to his order of two chili dogs, fried pickle chips and a few cocktails on June 12 at the Stumble Inn Bar and Grill in Londonderry.

“He’s kind of a mystery man,” bartender Michelle McCudden told NBC News. “I’ve been doing this a very long time and I never thought anything like this would happen to me.”

Restaurant owner Mike Zarella said he first thought he misread the receipt.

“I thought it was a mistake,” he said. “Typo.”

He was told by his staff members that the friendly customer assured them it was no joke.

Staff members at the restaurant divide the night’s tips evenly but the eight waiters working that evening wanted to extend the gift of generosity to the cooks too.

McCudden said everybody was extremely thankful for the customer’s kindness particularly after the pandemic forced more than 110,000 restaurants and bars to shut their doors in the past year.

“We went up and we thanked him,” McCudden said. “It’s just been a really rough year for all of us. For someone to do something like that really restored my faith in humanity.”

“Nowadays we use Facebook’s haha emojis to mock people,” Ahmadullah said in the video, adding, “If we react with haha emojis purely out of fun and the same was intended by the person who posted the content, it’s fine.”

“But if your reaction was intended to mock or ridicule people who posted or made comments on social media, it’s totally forbidden in Islam,” he added.

“For God’s sake, I request you to refrain from this act. Do not react with ‘haha’ to mock someone. If you hurt a Muslim, he may respond with bad language that would be unexpected.”

  • Zardari-Elahi meeting: possibility of a future coalition?

Zardari-Elahi meeting: possibility of a future coalition?

Punjab Assembly Speaker and senior leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi had a meeting with former president Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday.

A press release issued after the meeting said both sides discussed matters of mutual interest and the national political scene without giving any more details.

However, as per a report in Dawn, “a close aide to the Chaudhrys of Gujrat said that some quarters were seeing snap polls by the year-end and the meeting should be taken in the context of exploring possibilities of political cooperation in that scenario. He claimed that Prime Minister Imran Khan canceled his scheduled UK visit knowing the political storms in the making, both within his Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and in the ruling coalition.”

The PML-Q is presently an ally of the PTI in Punjab.

Though officially Pervaiz Elahi denies any differences with the PTI, his son Moonis Elahi has criticised various policies of the government publicly, particularly on social media.

Asif Zardari has summoned the party’s chief organiser in Punjab Raja Pervez Ashraf to Bilawal House in Lahore.

A PPP leader, who requested not to be named, said Zardari had taken on to himself the task of bargaining for a future alliance strong enough to form the next government, directing his son and PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari to look after other matters for the time being.

However, the Punjab government has termed the meeting of Elahi and Zardari a “storm in a teacup” and rubbished rumours of any differences between the coalition partners.

Special Assistant to the Punjab Chief Minister Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said, “The PML-Q is an experienced political party and an important ally of the PTI government.”

“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, we have defeated the worried Opposition — due to the successes achieved by the government — at every front,” added Awan.
