The valima will take place on August 26 in the capital and notable people from Pakistan including Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan and Director General (DG) Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) have been invited to the event.
Apart from the premier, invites were also sent out to PM Imran’s special assistant on political affairs, Naeemul Haque, and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Faisal Javed Khan.
A university student, posing as the public relations officer (PRO) to Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar was arrested and sent to Adiala jail.
According to police sources, Hamza Feroz, a resident of Gulraiz Colony, Rawalpindi, wanted police protocol for his parents who returning from Hajj. In this matter, he called the police security branch and introduced himself as the chief minister’s PRO and asked for police deployment along the route starting from Golra Mor to Soan Camp.
Feroz’s demand made the chief security officer (CSO) of Special Branch suspicious, who then verified details and found them to be fake. The CSO then informed the city police officer and alerted the police.
Hamza along with his brother was going to the Islamabad International Airport (IIA) in a luxury car with a flashing blue revolving light and Pakistan’s flag on its front to receive their parents when the police intercepted them for driving recklessly. Upon investigation, it was revealed that he was the same person posing to be the CM’s PRO. The police then took them into custody.
It was further revealed that the vehicle the brothers were driving was not verified and no customs had been paid on it. The car was seized by the customs staff while the student claiming to be the PRO to the chief minister was sent to Adiala jail. Hamza’s brother obtained pre-arrest bail.
Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has already directed all administrative departments and divisional and district police chiefs not to entertain requests made in person or on phone by unknown persons posing themselves as his relatives and to double-check anyone who claims to be. The directives were issued after some people had falsely represented themselves as relatives of the chief minister in order to get favours.
A Karachi-based matchmaker, who is popularly known as Mrs Khan, on live television said that rising divorces are due to women’s inability to bow down before their husbands and because they argue too much.
“We were told from the start that we should hold our tongue and keep it in control,” Mrs Khan said. “If a woman keeps her tongue in check, we wouldn’t have to face these problems. Such problems arise when women are unable to control themselves and try to dominate their husbands.”
She continued, “We were told that when the husband comes home, his shoes and clothes should be properly placed. There should be a roti on the tawa just ready to be served with the salan, which is supposed to have been prepared beforehand. But girls nowadays – they say that will not make rotis or do any work.”
“Phir shaadi kyun ki?” she asked angrily. “If you’re not capable of doing this, then don’t get married…Until and unless you’re not a proper woman then don’t get married. Marriage means responsibility.”
When the host interrupted Mrs Khan and said that girls say “Hum maasi ban kar thori kisi kay ghar ja rahe hain, hum toh biwi ban kar ja rahe hain,” Mrs Khan attacked her.
“Were they maids in their parent’s house? Or are they some minister or governor’s daughter? You’ll have to do it [house work] like your mother. Who would take care of you and your needs, give you food etc? Who would bring money to the house? The same rules apply in your own marriage.”
She then reiterated her earlier point that no matter strata of the society girls belong to they must always keep their mouths shut and never voice their opinions.
She then proceeded to say that the media has ruined women and encouraged them to “open their mouths” while the husband listens silently.
Needless to say, Mrs Khan’s comments sparked outrage among women who were disgusted by her misogynist and outdated comments.
Yeppp. Our culture is literally tailor made for abusive & demanding men, and women like Mrs Khan cash in on that by browbeating other women into accepting this heinous lifestyle.
What’s her feelings about abusive husbands ..nikamey husbands ..then husbands must not sleep on the mattress the girl brings in dowry .have some shame Mrs khan ..
I’m amused & I feel pity for Mrs Khan. This is the result of someone giving up their sense of self, and accepting being subjugated & submissive as an identity.
Happy to have a marriage which is totally opposite of what she’s describing
Fantastic response to "Mrs. Khan" from @HBhurgri. Mrs. Khan is the marriage bureau owner who berated married women who speak out and won't be household drudges.
And men had a field day because they found a woman who agrees with their misogynist thoughts.
Ha Ha Ha working women are becomes evil nature just because of money that ignore every kindness Mrs Khan is absolutely right especially media women are the worst human no manners no murcy no love with one man because many stupid mian are teaching them evil ways
We all know books are good for the brain and food for the soul. But what we may not know is that books are healthy for us in other ways as well.
Unfortunately, according to a recent survey carried out by Gallup, 75% of Pakistanis claim not to read any books at all and only 9% are avid readers.
Here are some health benefits of reading books which might encourage you to head to the nearest bookstore and grab a book or two.
Reduces stress
Research from the University of Sussex suggests that daily reading can lessen stress up to 68 percent, even more than listening to music, drinking a cup of tea or taking a walk.
Improves IQ
Books improve verbal IQ and stimulate parts of the brain related to language and memory. Reading also delays cognitive decline in the elderly.
Helps in weight loss
For those struggling to lose weight, adding a good novel to your diet and exercise routine could help. A study from Duke University suggested that reading an inspiring novel helped young girls to achieve weight loss within six months compared to those who didn’t read.
Boosts emotional intelligence
Reading boosts emotional intelligence. By reading and imagining a character in mind, it becomes easier to see yourself in a character’s actions. Beyond just entertainment, you find inspiration and empathy.

Further proving those pictures to be authentic, Arshad Sharif, who is a programme host on ARY news channel has posted pictures of courier boxes and wrote that he has returned the gift and urged Usman Buzdar to give them to “deserving people”, instead.
My staff told me despite my polite refusal, Mangoes were delivered in office. However, the same were returned with Thanks & a request that the same be given to deserving people by CM Punjab @UsmanAKBuzdar (2of2) https://t.co/5MT8vd0FbCpic.twitter.com/WTBJd8mc0R
Furthermore, in another tweet, he wrote that he has received multiple calls from the chief minister’s staff from different numbers and told them that he “does not accept gifts from government officials”.
However, chief minister’s spokesperson Dr. Shahbaz Gill has rejected claims of using public money and clarified that CM Buzdar has used his own money to buy these gifts, that are worth a few hundred only.

School season is back and children of all ages are getting ready to go back to school in a couple of days. Even more nervous than the children are possibly the first-time mummies who will be going to drop their children to school. More than anything, it is the pressure of looking good and presentable which makes them all the more anxious. Lucky for you, we have three easy hacks which will make mummies of all ages look fresh.
Dab concealer on your dark circles
A mother is the one person in the household who probably gets the least amount of sleep. To look awake and fresh, just dab a bit of concealer on the undereye area and blend with your middle finger.
Use lipstick to give a light flush
For that flushed, early morning look take a bit of your favourite pink lipstick and blend into your cheeks. Use the same on your lips or you can use a tint for the lips.
Brush your eyebrows
Defining your eyebrows can make you look more put together. Just take some tinted eyebrow gel and brush your eyebrows with it.
There, you’re done.
Doing all this will barely take more than five minutes and in the end you’ll feel fresh and more confident.
The number of income tax-filers in Pakistan has jumped to 2.5millions recording a rise of 69% during the current fiscal year, ARY News has reported.
According to the details, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has reported that over 1.36 million people have been added to the number of income tax filers in the country.
FBR also aims to achieve a target of 4 million tax returns by the end of tax year 2019.
Chief In-Land Revenue (Operations) of FBR Bakhtiar Muhammad said that according to the facts and figures, the number of income tax filers reached over 2.5 million till August 21, while the number of income tax return filers was over 1.5 million last year.
Earlier in July, FBR Chairman Shabbar Zaidi had said all measures are being taken to include more people in the tax net, adding that “We cannot have stabilized and equitable society unless we have a fair taxation system”.
Hamza Ali Abbasi’s wedding to actor Naimal Khawar Khan is without a doubt the talk of the town. After the actor penned a long letter in which he explained his reasons for marrying Naimal, he was brutally trolled.
Hamza in his shaadi announcement had written, “Some people get married for themselves because either they fall in love or because their lonely or maybe because of family or to have kids, these are also good reasons, but believe me when your sole reason is to please Allah then Allah makes a man like me, who could never sustain anything emotional with the opposite gender, could never comprehend the idea of marriage in his head, Allah makes that man go up to his very platonic friend of two years Naimal and tell her that he doesn’t want a relationship (that GF/BF nonsense) neither is he claiming to be in love with her but he wants to marry her with the intention of strengthening his very turbulent efforts to walk a path which pleases Allah and to my surprise she agrees not just to marry me but also expresses her joy in walking this path with me & now we can’t even breathe without each other.”
In a follow-up tweet, he further clarified that there was no “love story” between the two and they were “just friends for 2 years and recently Allah put it in my heart to ask her to marry me.”
Grateful for the flood of invites on TV shows to talk abt our "Love Story", but as disappointing as it sounds thr is none. We were just frnds for 2 yrs & recently Allah put it in my heart to ask her to marry me for reasons i mentioned and she said yes… Thts the entire story 🙂 https://t.co/lTl2xCVDYi
Following the floods of jokes and memes on Hamza and his platonic friendship, Hamza again took to social media to pen a long thread on what platonic means and the different ways of finding love.
As disappointing as it is, it appears that Bollywood is on a mission to produce as many nationalistic films as possible and portray Pakistanis as the bad guys.
King of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan’s latest project, Bard of Blood, is set in Balochistan and follows three Indian spies who’re on a “suicide mission,” to rescue four other RAW agents captured in the Pakistani province. The seven-episode thriller series is based on Bilal Siddiqui’s 2015 book of the same name and is being produced by SRK for Netflix. Emraan Hashmi is playing the lead in the film.
Khan described it as “a thrilling tale of espionage, vengeance, love, and duty”.
However, considering tensions between the two neighbouring countries are currently at an all-time high, it is frankly irritating to see Bollywood churn out such content which only serves to create more divide. The ironic bit is that such a plot has been done to death.
Hence, it comes as no surprise that Pakistanis have had enough of being portrayed as the villains in every single Bollywood movie of recent times – think Uri: The Surgical Strike. Which is why they took to Twitter to vent their frustrations. Even DG ISPR, General Asif Ghafoor had something to comment on the matter.
Stay in bollywood syndrome @iamsrk . For reality see RAW Spy Kulbhushan Jadev, Wing Comd Abhinandan & state of 27 Feb 2019. You could rather promote peace & humanity by speaking against atrocities in IOJ&K and against Hindituva of Nazism obsessed RSS. https://t.co/0FWqoRQsO6
Recently, Mehwish Hayat in a powerful speech had called out Bollywood for vilifying Pakistanis and after the trailer of the series released, she lashed out on Twitter once again. This time she also called out SRK for being part of such content.
This just vindicates what I have been saying for so long. Another week & yet another anti-Pakistan project. Now can we wake up, smell the coffee & see Bollywood’s agenda for what it is?@iamsrk Be patriotic, nobody is stopping you – just don’t do it at the expense of vilifying us. https://t.co/iCElRpJAa1
Why is #indianmedia working so hard to demonise an entire nation? Journalists printing false stories, hateful propoganda for entertainment. #Pakistan is not perfect nor is India. We can work towards peace but india is busy systematically maligning Pakistan.
PS. I hope the jingoism being expressed through Bollywood leads to permanent ban on this crap. Far too long have I tolerated friends, family and colleagues talking about shitty movies and unnecessary actor worship of idiots who did 5 okay movies two decades ago.
How Indians think they rescue their terrorists/Agents operating in Pakistan's Balochistan vs how they actually try to rescue them. #BardOfBloodpic.twitter.com/1ldLWtQgsC
