Wiaan Mulder becomes first captain to score triple century in Test cricket

South Africa’s stand-in captain Wiaan Mulder has made history by becoming the first captain in Test cricket to score a triple century.

He achieved this incredible milestone against Zimbabwe on the second day of the second Test in Bulawayo.

Mulder was unstoppable after scoring 264 runs on the first day and became the first captain ever to score a triple century in Test cricket. He reached his 300 in just 297 balls, making it the second-fastest triple century ever in Tests. Only Virender Sehwag’s 278-ball triple ton was faster.

Mulder’s innings were full of attacking shots, including 41 fours and three sixes. This is now the most boundaries ever hit by a South African in a single Test innings. He also broke several national records, including the highest individual Test score by a South African and the highest score by a South African captain.

At the time of writing, South Africa had reached a massive 549 for 5, with Mulder still looking strong and aiming to push his score even higher. His outstanding performance has not only put South Africa in a commanding position but has also written his name into the record books as one of the game’s top Test batsmen.

  • Sardaar Ji 3 continues ruling box office despite India ban

Sardaar Ji 3 continues ruling box office despite India ban

Sardaar Ji 3 is making waves internationally, performing exceptionally well at the overseas box office.

Starring Pakistani star Hania Aamir and Indian Punjabi singer/actor Diljit Dosanjh, the film has reportedly earned around ₹33.6 crore (about PKR 109.87 crore) in just one week since its release. It is now only ₹16.4 crore (around PKR 53.63 crore) away from reaching the impressive ₹50 crore (approx. PKR 163.5 crore) milestone.

The film has not been released in India due to ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan following the April 22 Pahalgam attack, which also led to a ban on Pakistani content and celebrities’ social media accounts in India. However, this restriction has not stopped the film’s success abroad.

Sardaar Ji 3 has been loved by audiences in the US, Canada, the UK, and Pakistan, with even Indian-origin viewers outside India praising the film as well.

Film analysts are calling the film’s ₹33.6 crore opening week “a huge number”, especially for a Punjabi-language film.

Reaching a ₹50 crore box office collection would be a major achievement for a Punjabi film, and at its current pace, Sardaar Ji 3 looks well on track to hit that target soon.

Made on a budget of ₹35 crore (about PKR 114.45 crore), its strong earnings have already made it profitable.

Trade experts believe that if the film had been released in India, it could have easily earned up to ₹100 crore (around PKR 327 crore) worldwide.

Directed by Amar Hundal, Sardaar Ji 3 is produced by Ganbir Singh Sidhu, Manmohan Sidhu, and Diljit Dosanjh himself. The story is written by Dheeraj Rattan and Manila Rattan, and the film hit theatres on 27 June 2025.

The film’s cast includes Diljit Dosanjh, Hania Aamir, Neeru Bajwa, and Jasmin Bajwa.

  • Major changes to Pakistan’s domestic cricket calendar for 2025-26

Major changes to Pakistan’s domestic cricket calendar for 2025-26

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced big changes in its domestic cricket structure for the 2025-26 season.

One of the biggest changes is the return of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy to an eight-team format instead of 18, as the PCB aims to allow the best regional teams to compete at the highest level. This year’s Quaid-e-Azam Trophy will be held from September 22 to November 7 in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, with 29 matches scheduled.

Before that, 12 regional teams will take part in the Hanif Mohammad Trophy, starting on August 15. This tournament will decide which two teams qualify for the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. The PCB says this new step will reward players and teams based on performance rather than reputation.

The National T20 tournament will also adopt a new format. Ten regional teams will compete in a qualifying round in February 2026, with the top two joining eight pre-qualified teams for the Super 10 stage in Faisalabad in March.

Departmental cricket will continue to play an important role through tournaments like the President’s Trophy (first-class), President’s Cup (one-day), and Grade II and III events, helping players stay active and secure employment in the sport.

Alongside these main competitions, there will be tournaments for school, college, university, and club-level cricket. The PCB says this is one of the most detailed domestic schedules in recent years and is designed to prepare the next generation of Pakistan cricket stars.

Details for some competitions will be shared later. Here is the full schedule:

A female tourist lost her wallet in Pakistan… what happened next will surprise you

A female tourist lost her wallet full of money near Lake Attabad in Pakistan. What happened next proved to be a pleasant surprise for her.

Digital creator Ameana shared a video on Instagram, praising the honesty and hospitality of Pakistani people, following an incident where she lost her wallet containing €250.

The content creator titled the video: What happens when you lose your wallet in Pakistan.

She detailed her surprising and heartwarming experience in the clip, stating, “So this morning I realised I can’t find my wallet anywhere. I kept looking everywhere and then I remembered last night I went to a restaurant which is near our cottage in that area.”

“I had about 250 euros there.  And, they gave me my wallet back and all the money. Every single rupee was in there. Honestly, I couldn’t believe it.”

The incident left her amazed by the integrity and character of the people she encountered in Pakistan.

“The honesty of Pakistani people, their hospitality, how much they care about their reputation, their kindness is unmatched.”

“Honestly, if I was in some other countries, I don’t think I would have had my wallet back. But here in Pakistan, things work differently.”

She went on to highlight the global misrepresentation of Pakistan, urging people to look beyond negative media narratives, “I know Pakistani people get a lot of bad press, but it’s not all true, and you just have to come and see it for yourself.”

The video quickly gained traction, and the comments section became flooded with emotional messages from both locals and foreigners.

One user wrote, “Pakistani hospitality is unrivalled It is crazy that all the money was still there ”

Another, drawing comparisons, commented, “If it were India, you would’ve been scammed and all your money would be gone. Just step into Pakistan from India people and culture are totally different. Pakistanis are great.”

A surprising voice from India added, “I’m not Pakistani, I’m Indian. Because of the hateful politics in our country, we almost never come across Pakistanis back home. But abroad, especially here in Canada, I’ve had the chance to meet many, and honestly, Pakistani people are some of the sweetest, kindest, and most down-to-earth individuals I’ve ever known.”

Another wrote, “Seeing so many positive comments from foreigners makes me feel lucky to be in this country, Alhamdulillah ❤”

“Dear, this is the beauty of Pakistan,” said one netizen.

  • BRICS declares Gaza ‘inseparable’ part of Palestine, condemns Israeli attacks on Iran

BRICS declares Gaza ‘inseparable’ part of Palestine, condemns Israeli attacks on Iran

BRICS has declared Gaza, illegally controlled by Israel since 1967, an “inseparable part of the Occupied Palestinian Territory.”

The intergovernmental organisation, originally comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, expanded to include Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates as full members since 2009.

In a joint statement released on Sunday, the bloc stressed the need to unify the West Bank and Gaza under the control of the Palestinian Authority.

The declaration reaffirmed “the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination”, including the right to their independent State of Palestine.

Expressing “grave concern” over Israel’s committing a genocide against Palestinians and the blocking of humanitarian aid in Gaza, the bloc condemned the use of starvation as a method of warfare.

The statement said, “We urge the parties to engage in good faith in further negotiations to achieve an immediate, permanent, and unconditional ceasefire, the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip and all other parts of the Occupied Palestinian Territory, the release of all hostages and detainees held in violation of international law, and sustained and unhindered access and delivery of humanitarian aid.”

The BRICS countries emphasised that Palestinians must play a central role in the reconstruction of Palestine and expressed opposition to any policy that would lead to the forced displacement of Palestinians or any demographic changes in the region.

The bloc further expressed its support for the full membership of the State of Palestine in the United Nations and its “unwavering commitment” to a two-state solution.

Since October 2023, Israel has intensified its attacks on civilians in Gaza under a genocide against Palestinians, resulting in over 57,400 deaths, most of them women and children

    BRICS condemns attacks on Iran

The bloc also condemned last month’s attacks on Iran, calling military strikes against Iran a violation of international law and the UN Charter.

“We condemn the military strikes against the Islamic Republic of Iran since June 13, 2025, which constitute a violation of international law and the Charter of the United Nations, and express grave concern over the subsequent escalation of the security situation in the Middle East,” the joint declaration read.

On June 13, Israel carried out illegal strikes in Iran’s cities, killing its top commander, nuclear scientist and civilians.

Tehran launched retaliatory missile and drone strikes, and the conflict ended with a US-brokered ceasefire that took effect on June 24.

BRICS held its first summit in 2009. The member states are reportedly responsible for 26 per cent of the global Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

  • Pak to face India in PUBG Mobile tournament after five years

Pak to face India in PUBG Mobile tournament after five years

Pakistan and India will face each other in an official PUBG Mobile tournament for the first time after nearly six years, reigniting one of the region’s biggest rivalries.

The highly anticipated face-off will take place at the PUBG Mobile World Cup 2025 later this month as part of the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Pakistan qualified after finishing third at the PMSL Central & South Asia Spring 2025 in Almaty, beating top teams from across the region, claiming one of three slots available for Central and South Asia. The team will be represented by 4Thrives Esports.

Hopes for India rest on Aryan x TMG Gaming, who recently made headlines after winning the Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series 2025 Grand Finals held in New Delhi from July 4 to 6. By topping the BMPS, they earned India a direct ticket to the World Cup and will now face off against some of the world’s best.

The last notable time Pakistani and Indian PUBG Mobile teams competed was in 2020 in the PUBG Mobile World League 2020, where Team Free Style represented Pakistan.

Major changes were made in the competitive PUBG Mobile in South Asia after 2020. India’s version of the game was banned and relaunched as BGMI, and the country set its own separate events. Meanwhile, Pakistan relied on limited regional qualifiers with no clear path to compete internationally against India. Different regional leagues, political restrictions, and separate publisher strategies meant few or no opportunities for both countries to appear in the same official tournaments.

In 2020, the hype was driven by curiosity. Fans in Pakistan watched because it was new to see local players on the same map as Indian streamers and pro players they admired.

This year, however, the format of the gaming competition has changed, and the clash between the two neighbouring rivals will take place on one of the biggest Esports stages in the world. Both teams qualified through official leagues under strict global regulations. Now, they’ll compete for pride and for a share of a record-breaking $3,000,000 prize pool.

Viewership is expected to be huge, with tens of thousands of Pakistani fans expected to watch live, whereas India’s PUBG Mobile community is known to garner hundreds of thousands of live viewers.

The PUBG Mobile World Cup 2025 will be held in Riyadh from July 25 to August 3 as part of the larger Esports World Cup. A total of 24 of the world’s best PUBG Mobile teams will take part.

The event will begin with the Group Stage from July 25 to 27. Teams will be split into three groups, with the top eight advancing straight to the Grand Finals. The Survival Stage will take place from July 29 to 30, giving the bottom 16 teams one last chance to qualify. The top 16 teams will then battle it out in the Grand Finals, which will run from August 1 to 3.

Fans are excited to see their favourite players take the Pakistan-India rivalry beyond cricket and into the world of Esports.

  • India acknowledges Rafale pilot deaths as military announces honours

India acknowledges Rafale pilot deaths as military announces honours

The Indian military has indirectly acknowledged the damage sustained during Operation Sindoor against Pakistan in May while announcing military honours. This includes confirming the deaths of several personnel, including Rafale fighter jet pilots.

Geo News, citing security sources, reports that the move has been made amid internal pressure.

According to security sources, over 250 fatalities were reported due to the massive damage suffered by the Indian armed forces, particularly along the Line of Control (LoC).

The Indian government and military have avoided publicly acknowledging the scale of the damage; however, the recent announcement of honours has brought the casualties and other losses to light.

Among those posthumously awarded are reportedly four Indian Air Force (IAF) pilots, three of whom were flying French 4.5-generation Rafale jets.

Honours have also been announced for five S-400 air defence system operators killed at the Adampur Airbase and nine personnel who lost their lives at the Udhampur Airbase, including members of its air defence unit.

Moreover, two Indian soldiers from the Rajouri aviation base and four others from the Uri supply depot, including its officer-in-charge, are reportedly being recognised.

Citing security sources, Geo News reported that families of the deceased have allegedly been advised not to share photos or tributes on social media, as authorities continue efforts to keep the extent of the losses out of the public eye.

In May, after India launched Operation Sindoor, Pakistan launched a large-scale retaliatory military action under Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos, targeting several Indian military targets across multiple regions.

Pakistan downed six Indian Air Force (IAF) fighter jets, including three Rafale, one Su-30 MKI, one Mig 29 and dozens of drones. After at least 87 hours, the war between the two nuclear-armed nations ended on May 10 with a ceasefire agreement brokered by the United States (US).

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), a total of 53 individuals, including 13 personnel of the armed forces and 40 civilians, were martyred in Indian strikes during the recent military confrontation.

  • ‘Fake pregnancy operation’; Nadia Khan mocks repetitive dialogue in hit drama Maan Mast Malang

‘Fake pregnancy operation’; Nadia Khan mocks repetitive dialogue in hit drama Maan Mast Malang

Television host Nadia Khan is not happy with the excessive use of the word ‘pregnant’ in the recently concluded hit drama serial Maan Mast Malang.

The Geo TV drama, which aired its final episode recently, has remained a trending topic due to its controversial content and storyline. Despite repeated backlash from viewers who accused the show of “crossing Pakistan’s cultural boundaries”, the drama completed its full run and garnered over 600 million views on YouTube, highlighting its immense popularity.

While reviewing the finale on 24 News’ program ‘Kya Drama Hai’, Nadia Khan sharply criticized the character Wafa for obsessively repeating the word ‘pregnant’ in nearly every dialogue.

“This so-called Wafa Bibi’s false pregnancy operation. Oh my God, this has been on repeat for the last twenty episodes,” Nadia said while mimicking the character.

She humorously compared the repetition to military tactics, saying, “There’s something called a false flag operation; this was a false pregnancy operation.”

Nadia went on to reenact some of the character’s dramatic lines in a mocking tone: “Mobeen, I got scared. I love you so much.”

“Look Mehnaz, he gave me four rings. You’re jealous of me. You’re jealous, right, my sister?

Tell me, you’re jealous, aren’t you?”

“Mummy, I got scared. Mummy, I swear I’m pregnant. I’m fertile. I will give you lots of children. Yes, mummy, accept it about me, please.”

Laughing through her performance, she added, “Not a single scene ends without mentioning the baby or pregnancy. In 56 episodes, she’s only harped on about this one thing.”

Summing it up with exaggerated flair, Nadia joked, “I’m pregnant. I’m not pregnant. When will I be pregnant? I’m about to be. I will be.”

Her co-hosts burst into laughter as she declared the repeated use of ‘she is pregnant’ in all episodes as a “fake pregnancy operation.”

Nadia Khan’s sharp commentary sparked mixed reactions on social media.

While many users agreed with her and bashed the drama’s script, others felt that such topics should be handled with more sensitivity. Some also reminded Nadia to exercise caution while discussing themes like pregnancy on public platforms.

Nadia is already under fire from several actors for criticizing the writing and acting in Pakistani dramas. Stars like Yasir Hussain and Saba Faisal have publicly called her out in the past, prompting Nadia to warn her detractors of legal action in response.

  • Major blow for Pakistan ahead of Bangladesh tour as key player suffers injury

Major blow for Pakistan ahead of Bangladesh tour as key player suffers injury

Pakistan’s preparations for the upcoming tour of Bangladesh have taken a serious blow following an injury setback to a key player.

Fast bowler Haris Rauf picked up a hamstring injury while playing for the San Francisco Unicorns in the ongoing Major League Cricket tournament in the USA. The franchise has confirmed that Haris will no longer take part in the league due to the injury.

The Unicorns have brought in New Zealand pacer Ben Lister to replace him.

According to reports, Haris has suffered a Grade One hamstring strain, ruling him out of the remainder of the MLC season and putting his availability for Pakistan’s crucial Bangladesh tour in doubt.

Haris was the tournament’s leading wicket-taker so far, underlining both his form and value to the national team. The Pakistan team management is now closely monitoring his recovery to ensure he regains fitness ahead of future international matches.
