‘Attack in the middle of the night and call it a victory’, Mahira lashes out at India

Pakistan’s star actress Mahira Khan has shared a powerful and emotional message after India launched Operation Sindoor, striking at least six targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Jammu and Kashmir early Wednesday morning.

Using her social media platform, Instagram, she condemned the violence, expressed sorrow over the loss of innocent lives, and criticised the ongoing narrative being pushed by Indian authorities.

Mahira wrote on her Instagram story, “I am grateful that I live in a country where I am not dictated to say what I have to. I have a voice and I CAN use it. We speak up when there are injustices in our own land, we condemn violence wherever it happens even when my country Pakistan is instantly blamed without ANY evidence.”

She continued, “India, your war and hate rhetoric has continued for many years. Have seen and experienced it with my own eyes. Your media fans the flames of division. Your most powerful voices remain silent in the face of genocide and war crimes – silenced not by law, but by Fear! And in that fear, you claim victory. But to me, that silence is your greatest defeat.”

In direct criticism of the recent missile attacks, she added, “You attack cities, in the middle of the night and call it a victory? Shame on you.”

Ending her statement with a heartfelt message for her homeland, she wrote, “My Pakistan, I love you. May we do the right thing. May we never stoop to that level even after this heinous provocation. May peace prevail. Ameen. Pakistan Zindabad. Pakistan Paaindabad.”

Mahira’s bold stance has received overwhelming support from fans online:

“THIS IS WHY WE LOVE YOU! ♥️ Pakistan Zindabad”

“As I said, we have only 1 classy superstar! ❤️”

“Thank you for setting the bar so high. All of us look up to you. ❤️”

“Aameen…Pakistan hai tou hum hain…Pakistan nahi tou kuch bhi nahi…Allah hamary mulk ko qayamat tak salamat rakhay…Aameen ❤️❤️❤️”

“This is why you are our biggest superstar!! Pakistan Zindabad”

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), India launched airstrikes shortly after midnight on several locations in Pakistan, including Kotli, Bahawalpur, Muridke, Bagh, and Muzaffarabad. The strikes resulted in the martyrdom of at least 26 citizens and injuries to 46 others. The attack followed heightened tensions after the April 22 Pahalgam incident in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), where 26 Indian tourists were killed. India accused Pakistan of involvement but has yet to provide any evidence to support the claim.

In retaliation, the Pakistan Air Force shot down three Rafale jets operated by the Indian Air Force. According to international media outlets, a total of six Indian warplanes were downed in the encounter.

ISPR Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry confirmed that Pakistan had responded to the Indian strikes and had downed five Indian Air Force jets, including three Rafale fighter aircraft. He also stated that an Indian Army brigade headquarters and a military post in the Dhundial sector along the Line of Control (LoC) were targeted and destroyed.

“All of our air force jets are airborne,” said the ISPR DG. “This is a shameful and cowardly attack that was carried out from within India’s airspace. Pakistan will respond to this provocation at a time and place of its choosing.”

The situation remains tense, with both sides on high alert and conducting damage assessments. Further statements from both governments and military spokespersons are expected in the coming hours.

India targeting hydro-power structures ‘unacceptable and dangerous escalation’: DG ISPR

Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has revealed that India has targeted the Nauseri Dam structure of the Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower Project after launching “Operation Sindoor” in the early hours of Wednesday. The strikes have so far killed at least 26 people and injured 46.

Speaking at a media briefing on Wednesday, Lt Gen Chaudhry described the attack on the hydropower facility as an “unacceptable and dangerous escalation.” He questioned India’s intent, asking: “Is India trying to damage the water of Pakistan’s people? Does it know the consequences and meaning of this? […] Do international norms and war laws allow you to target the water reservoirs, dams and hydropower structures?”

He further highlighted that during what he called India’s “cowardly act,” several national and international flights were airborne, putting thousands of lives at serious risk.

“At that time, there were 57 international flights operating inside Pakistan’s airspace,” he stated, adding that the consequences of any of those being hit “perhaps did not cross the minds of those who were undertaking this senseless aggression”

DG ISPR clarified that no Indian aircraft was allowed to enter Pakistan’s airspace, and none of Pakistan’s jets crossed into Indian airspace, adding that “At no time, any of their aircraft were allowed to enter into Pakistan’s airspace and also at no time, none of Pakistan’s aircraft went into Indian airspace.”

He further said, “Pakistan is responding fully to this Indian aggression and will keep responding…India’s misconceptions would be corrected,” noting, “We in the armed forces love and embrace martyrdom much and much more than we fear death.”

DG ISPR, while outlining Pakistan’s response to the India’s aggression, said that one jet each was shot down in the General Areas of Bhatinda, Jammu, Akhnoor, and Srinagar, while two were brought down in Avantipur. He added that the downed Indian aircraft included three Rafale jets, one MiG-29, one SU aircraft, and a Heron combat drone.

“The Pakistan Air Force brought these jets down when they attacked Pakistan, only after they released their weapons. They were engaged and shot at once they took on unprovoked and uncalled-for aggression against the state, the territorial integrity and innocent people of Pakistan by firing at them.

“It should also be noted that the Pakistan Armed Forces could have shot at even more than 10 of their aircraft, but we exercised restraint.”

Referring to the firing at the Line of Control (LoC), he said that shelling by the Indian Army had resulted in the deaths of five civilians, including a five-year-old child.

“Please keep in mind that India targeted mosques and making religious places target reflects the narrow thinking of [indian Prime Minister Narendra] Modi’s Hindutva government that suppresses and targets minorities, especially Muslims,” he concluded.

Superstar Fawad Khan extended his condolences and urged the public to avoid hate-driven narratives.

Bilal Abbas Khan strongly condemned the attack and stood in solidarity with the nation.

“What India has done today is nothing short of a disgraceful and cowardly act. Attacking innocent civilians, taking innocent lives — this is a crime against humanity and cannot be justified or ignored.

My heart aches for every Pakistani family that has lost a loved one today. We will not forget this brutality, and we will not stay silent in the face of such injustice. I pray for the souls we have lost, for the safety of our people, and for the future of Pakistan a future where such senseless violence has no place. Today, we stand united, stronger and prouder than ever!!”

Hania Aamir responded emotionally to a post circulating on X, calling out the cruelty of celebrating a child’s death.

She posted on her Instagram story, “I don’t have fancy words right now. I just have anger, pain, and a heavy heart. A child is gone. Families are shattered. And for what? This is not how you protect anyone. This is cruelty plain and simple. You don’t get to bomb innocent people and call it strategy. This isn’t strength. This is shameful. This is cowardly. And we see you.”

Kubra Khan expressed collective anxiety and reminded followers to avoid misinformation while encouraging prayer.

On her story, she wrote, “I don’t think anyone is sleeping tonight. There is no joy in innocent lives being taken. No matter where they are. Sadly I see celebrations over a child’s death. Urwa Hocane called out the attacks as politically motivated propaganda.

She wrote in her Instagram story, “We are not fighting a war enemy at the moment! We are fighting a petty neighbor with a small egocentric mindset that wants to prove a fake propaganda point of view for a mere political campaign coming up! Disgusting and Screw you, because PAKISTAN ZINDABAD & PAK ARMY Paindabad!”

Mahira Khan kept her message brief but firm.

On her Instagram story, she wrote, “Seriously cowardly!!! May Allah protect our country, may better sense prevail. Ameen.”

Usama Khan advocated for peace but warned against provocation.

He shared on his story,“War can never be an option. We’ve tried every possible way. We requested a neutral inquiry. We condemn the terror attack. We’ve done every possible thing to stop this. But if you impose war on us, then we are not afraid. #Pakistanzindabad Dear India, please stop this. You need to tell this to Modi. #PakistanUnderAttack”

Aiman Khan offered prayers and reminded both sides of the human cost of conflict.

She wrote on her Instagram story, “Praying for my motherland. Pakistan Zindabad! May Allah keep my country and its people safe. Ameen.”

She also added, “No child should sleep to the sound of fighter jets. No mother should worry about what tomorrow will bring for her family. To both sides: human life is not a game. As a daughter of this soil, I stand for my country and I pray for peace. #NoToWar #IStandForPeace #Pakistan”

Mawra Hocane mourned the loss of innocent lives and called for divine protection.

On her Instagram story, she wrote, “Strongly condemn India’s cowardly attack on Pakistan. Innocent civilians have lost their lives. May Allah protect us all. May sense prevail. Ya Allah ho Ya Hafizo. #PakistanZindabad”

GTA 6 drops new trailer with glimpse of Vice City

Rockstar Games has officially announced that the release of Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) has been delayed to May 26, 2026. The company expressed regret over pushing back the launch of the long-awaited game, which fans have been eagerly anticipating for years.

To soften the blow, Rockstar surprised fans with the second official trailer for GTA 6. The nearly three-minute video dives deeper into the game’s vibrant world, set in Vice City, a fictional metropolis inspired by Miami. It also introduces the main characters, Jason and Lucia, a duo bonded by both love and a life of crime.

This trailer follows the new release date announcement and arrives more than a year after the first trailer dropped in December 2023.

Alongside the trailer, Rockstar also launched a dedicated GTA 6 website, revealing key story details for the first time. The game is set in Leonida, a fictional state based on Florida, with Vice City at its centre. The storyline follows Jason and Lucia as they navigate the dangerous underworld together.

The website features character bios, offering fans an inside look at the leads and other key players in the upcoming game.

Rockstar confirmed that all footage in the new trailer was captured on a PlayStation 5, highlighting the game’s impressive graphics and immersive open world.

Fans haven’t been this excited since 2023, when GTA 6’s first trailer leaked online. Rockstar responded by releasing the official version 15 hours earlier than planned. That 90-second clip confirmed the return to a Miami-style setting and introduced Lucia as the first female protagonist in the GTA series.

  • Kamran Akmal slams Rizwan’s captaincy, says was never fit to lead

Kamran Akmal slams Rizwan’s captaincy, says was never fit to lead

Former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Kamran Akmal has strongly criticised Mohammad Rizwan’s leadership, saying the Multan Sultans skipper is not fit for captaincy and should not be given such authority in the future.

Speaking on a private TV channel, Kamran said, “I feel this management and captain, if the PCB dares to make a decision, should never be given such authority again. He was never fit for captaincy.”

He heavily criticised Rizwan’s tactics in Multan’s recent match against Peshawar Zalmi, calling the team selection and overall strategy confusing and disappointing.

“The way he fielded the team against Peshawar and the approach he took in the game was beyond understanding,” he added.

Kamran further pointed out that Multan Sultans had already lost seven out of their nine matches before the Peshawar game, yet no one raised concerns about their playing strategy or mindset. However, their most recent performance finally sparked discussions.

“They lost seven out of nine matches earlier, but no one questioned Multan Sultans’ approach. Now, after what they did against Peshawar Zalmi, everyone is talking about it,” he said.

“Everyone says building the PSL brand was a collective effort. Why is its image being damaged now? Will the PCB reflect on this?” Kamran questioned.

Sports journalist Shahid Hashmi also criticised the team’s management, quoting Multan’s power-hitting coach Julian Wood.

“Julian Wood said we couldn’t recover after the first match. What kind of management was this that ruined all ten matches after just one game?”

Meanwhile, former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali raised eyebrows over Multan’s squad decisions, questioning why key players were dropped.

“Who told Multan Sultans to drop Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Ali, or other players?” Basit asked.

So far in PSL 10, Multan Sultans have managed to win only one match out of nine, making it one of their worst campaigns to date.

India has attacked Pakistan: Here’s everything we know so far…

India attacked Pakistan in the early hours of Wednesday by launching airstrikes in different parts of the country, martyring at least three Pakistanis and injuring 12 others.

The strikes came amid heightened tensions and Indian warmongering following last month’s Pahalgam attack in Indian Occupied Kashmir, which had resulted in the deaths of 26 tourists. In absence of any evidence, New Delhi had accused Islamabad of being involved in the attack by “facilitating terror groups” – an allegation denied by Pakistan as it offered a transparent probe into the tragedy.

With the situation continuing to escalate, explosions were heard in Kotli, Bahawalpur, Muridke, Bagh and Muzaffarabad on Tuesday-Wednesday midnight.

While a statement from Indian authorities took responsibility for the strikes, Pakistan was quick to respond, vowing a befitting response to Indian aggression.

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General (DG) Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry confirmed that Indian armed forces had carried out missile strikes across different cities in Punjab and Azad Kashmir.

“All of our air force jets are airborne. This is a shameful and cowardly attack that was carried from within India’s airspace,” he said, adding that Pakistan’s armed forces were giving a befitting response to Indian aggression.

“Let me say it unequivocally, Pakistan will respond to this [attack] at a time and place of its choosing,” warned the ISPR chief.

“This provocation will not go unanswered,” he said, adding that the temporary happiness that India had achieved with the cowardly attack would soon be replaced with enduring grief.

While damage assessment is currently underway, Pakistan has so far shot down two Indian Air Force (IAF) jets.

Security sources have also claimed that an Indian army brigade headquarters has been destroyed by Pakistan and an enemy post in the Dhundial sector of the Line of Control (LoC) has also been wiped out in a missile strike from this side of the border.

    This is a developing story…

Shots fired: Is Falak Shabbir targeting Atif Aslam’s qawwali mix?

Singer Falak Shabir, husband of renowned actress Sarah Khan, recently shared his thoughts on social media about modern renditions of classic qawwalis; a message fans believe was a direct dig at Atif Aslam.

Without naming anyone, Falak criticised contemporary singers who keep revamping the legendary Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s qawwalis instead of producing original music.

He wrote on his Instagram story: “Khan Shahab ko unki akhri aram gah main tu aram karnay dein please. And work on some originals  I Think we should let Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s soul in peace at his eternal resting place and should produce something new and original”

His comment sparked discussion online, with many linking it to Atif Aslam’s recent modern rendition of a Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan classic.

While Falak didn’t mention Atif by name, the timing and tone led fans to assume the comment was directed at him.

The remark stirred debate on social media. Some supported Falak, saying originality in music is vanishing, while others defended Atif for bringing qawwali to a younger generation.

One fan wrote, “Atif Aslam is not ruining qawwali  he’s reviving it for new audiences,” while another commented, “Falak should first create something legendary himself before criticizing.”

Atif Aslam recently reinterpreted a classic qawwali by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, giving it a contemporary twist.

  • ‘When you have to shoot, shoot… don’t talk’: Kh Asif has hilarious message for India

‘When you have to shoot, shoot… don’t talk’: Kh Asif has hilarious message for India

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Monday shared a clip from the classic 1966 movie “The Good, The Bad and the Ugly” on his official X (formerly Twitter) account with the caption “No comments needed”.

As tensions rise between Pakistan and India following the April 22 millitant attack in Pahalgam in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), relations between the two neighbouring nuclear-armed states nosedived. India illegally suspended the long-standing Indus Water Treaty (IWT) unilaterally in reaction to the attack in Pahalgam in IIOJK, which claimed the lives of 26 people, including a Nepalese national.

New Delhi linked Islamabad to the attack without offering any concrete evidence or a probe. Pakistan has strongly denied the accusations and offered a transparent and credible investigation into the matter.

Khwaja Asif posted a clip showing a man [representing India] with a gun entering an old house and finding his rival [representing Pakistan] lying in a bathtub filled with soapy water. “I have been looking for you for eight months. Whenever I have had a gun in my right hand, I thought of you. Now I find you in exactly the position that suits me. I had lots of time to learn how to shoot with my left,” he says.

The moment the dialogue gets finished, the other man [representing Pakistan] suddenly pulls a gun from beneath the bubbles and shoots him dead. He then delivers the famous line: “When you have to shoot, shoot. Don’t talk.”

Internet users flooded the comment section of Asif’s post. Some found it humorous, while others criticized him. One social media users wrote, “I want to remind you that you are the Defence Minister of Pakistan. Start acting like the office you represent, not like someone trying to entertain a crowd.”

“Imagine the seriousness of a potential conflict threat with India…Pakistan’s Defence Minister is busy making memes,” another user wrote.

“You are the Defense Minister of a nuclear state. For God’s sake, don’t make a joke of this matter, wars destroy generations. it is inappropriate to sarcastically invite any war like this,” opined a netizen.

“Serious preparation of defence strategies against India in full swing. Defence Minister intends to make the Indians die of laughter,” said the fourth user.

Another said, “India says he is gonna defeat us and can’t even handle our Khawaja Asif yet the whole Pakistan .”

  • Fans in shock as Saim Ayub leaves Babar Azam, Shaheen out of his dream T20I XI

Fans in shock as Saim Ayub leaves Babar Azam, Shaheen out of his dream T20I XI

Young Pakistani left-handed batter Saim Ayub of Peshawar Zalmi has named his dream T20 International XI, leaving fans shocked with the decision to leave former skipper and Pakistan Super League (PSL) teammate Babar Azam as well as Pakistan’s top pacer Shaheen Afridi out of the squad.

Speaking on the Off-Topic Zalmi Podcast, the 21-year-old rising talent was asked to choose his ideal T20I lineup from currently active players. The only rule was that no more than two players could be selected from the same country. Despite having the option to pick two Pakistanis, Saim chose only one, opener Fakhar Zaman, and paired him with Australian star batter Travis Head.

At number three, he picked England’s hard-hitting wicketkeeper Jos Buttler. The middle order included West Indies’ powerful Nicholas Pooran and South Africa’s dangerous Heinrich Klaasen.

For the sixth spot, he selected England’s Ben Stokes, praising his ability to perform under pressure.

In the all-rounder’s section, Saim chose India’s Hardik Pandya, Afghanistan’s top spinner Rashid Khan, and New Zealand’s Mitchell Santner for their balanced contributions in both batting and bowling during the middle overs.

To complete the bowling lineup, he picked India’s Jasprit Bumrah and Australia’s Mitchell Starc, two of the most feared fast bowlers in modern T20 cricket.

Saim recently returned to action in PSL X after recovering from an ankle injury that he suffered during the Test series against South Africa in December 2024. The injury kept him out of Pakistan’s squads for the tri-nation ODI series, the white-ball series against New Zealand and later the 2025 Champions Trophy.

Now 22 years old, Saim is representing Peshawar Zalmi in the ongoing season of the PSL but is yet to hit top form. He has so far scored 119 runs in eight matches at an average of 14.87 and a strike rate of 117.82.
