Kevin De Bruyne confirms Manchester City exit

Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has confirmed reports of leaving the club at the end of the season.

The 33-year-old Belgian confirmed his decision through an Instagram post, calling his time at City “the best chapter” of his career.

De Bruyne, who is currently City’s club captain, joined in 2015 from Wolfsburg. Since then, he has played a key role in City’s success, winning six Premier League titles and a UEFA Champions League trophy.

In his heartfelt message to fans, De Bruyne wrote, “Nothing about this is easy to write, but as football players, we all know this day eventually comes. That day is here — and you deserve to hear it from me first.”

He expressed his deep connection with the club, the city, and its people, adding, “Football led me to all of you – and to this City. • People can’t stop trolling Adnan Siddiqui for noticing THIS thing about women

People can’t stop trolling Adnan Siddiqui for noticing THIS thing about women

Senior actor Adnan Siddiqui is making headlines for all the wrong reasons after his recent appearance on the show Hansana Maanin Hai, where he made some questionable comments about women. Social media users have been quick to criticise him, questioning not only his remarks but also his understanding of appropriate behaviour.

During the show, host Tabish Hashmi asked Adnan what he notices first when meeting a woman. After a brief pause, Adnan responded, “When I meet a girl for the first time, I notice her feet.” This statement immediately caught attention, leaving many viewers uncomfortable with the comment.

Tabish, playing along, agreed, saying he too notices a woman’s feet when meeting her. He humorously added that he checks her feet to ensure, “the place where I have to lie for the rest of my life should be clean.” While this comment was made in jest, it didn’t sit well with many viewers who found the conversation inappropriate.

Adnan went on to explain his reasoning, stating, “I feel that people who keep their hands and feet clean have a good personality; they like cleanliness.” This was followed by a remark from the host, who said such people also tend to keep their hearts and homes clean. Adnan added, “They should keep their hearts clean; they should clean their houses themselves.”

However, things took a more uncomfortable turn when the host pressed further, asking if a woman who has clean feet but short hair would be acceptable. Adnan’s response was blunt: “The girl should just be alive; she should be alive.”

The comments sparked an outpouring of criticism on social media, with many questioning the actor’s attitude towards women.

One user remarked, “Adnan Siddiqui is a father of a daughter. He should think before saying such things.” Others criticised the actor’s choice of words, with one user stating, “Uncle, you’re getting older—please stop asking such questions.”

Many pointed out that such remarks reflected poorly on his character. “It’s not about hands and feet,” one commenter said. “It’s about what defines a person’s character.”

While some took issue with the comments, others directed their anger at the show itself, accusing it of encouraging inappropriate behaviour.

As the backlash continues, it remains to be seen how Adnan Siddiqui will respond to the criticism.

  • Superman gets smashed — and dragged home by his dog in wild new sneak peek

Superman gets smashed — and dragged home by his dog in wild new sneak peek

DC Studios just dropped a jaw-dropping new look at James Gunn’s Superman, and let’s just say—this is not your usual Man of Steel. Shared during Warner Bros.’ presentation at CinemaCon and now released online, the sneak peek has fans buzzing for all the right (and unexpected) reasons.

The extended footage features David Corenswet as a very badly injured Superman, unable to walk or fly, pleading with his loyal dog Krypto to drag him home. Yes, you read that right—Krypto is literally pulling a flopping, broken Superman through the snow. It’s part hilarious, part brutal, and fully James Gunn.

Though the scene starts off morbidly funny, it quickly shifts into classic superhero weirdness in the best way possible. Krypto drags Clark to the Fortress of Solitude, which looks more magical and inventive than ever. Inside, a group of medical robots in superhero capes leap into action, including one wild moment where they focus concentrated sunlight to heal him.

Fans got a clear listen to Robot 4—voiced by none other than Alan Tudyk. A longtime James Gunn collaborator and expert in bringing robots to life, Tudyk’s voicework is already earning praise online. Meanwhile, speculation is swirling about the voice behind Robot 12, with fans throwing out their best guesses.

The trailer also gives longer glimpses of other key characters: Rachel Brosnahan’s Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, and Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner.

What makes this sneak peek stand out is Gunn’s signature blend of heart, humor, and chaos—something that’s clearly setting this Superman apart from previous versions. And fans are here for it.

Superman, the first official film in DC’s rebooted universe, soars into theaters on July 11. With Peter Safran and James Gunn producing—and Gunn writing and directing—it’s shaping up to be a bold, emotional, and surprisingly fun reintroduction to the world’s most iconic hero.

  • Mark Chapman to miss final ODI against Pakistan

Mark Chapman to miss final ODI against Pakistan

New Zealand batter Mark Chapman, who missed the second ODI against Pakistan after a hamstring injury, will be absent from the third and final match of the series on Saturday at Mount Maunganui.

Tim Seifert, who replaced Chapman in the second ODI, will continue to fill in for him in the final game.

Chapman sustained a minor hamstring tear while fielding during the series opener in Napier and was ruled out of the second ODI in Hamilton after failing to recover sufficiently.

New Zealand Cricket confirmed on Friday that Chapman would not be fit for the final match of the series. An assessment following a training session revealed that Chapman had not made enough progress in his recovery.

Before being sidelined by the injury, Chapman had played a key role in New Zealand’s victory over Pakistan in the opening ODI, where he scored a career-best 132 runs. His performance was instrumental in securing a resounding 73-run win for the Blackcaps. Despite his absence in the second ODI, New Zealand comfortably extended their series lead to 2–0, making the final match a dead rubber.

The second ODI saw New Zealand dominate in all aspects of the game, with Mitchell Hay remaining unbeaten on 99*, and Pakistan’s batting order collapsing under the pressure. Ben Sears, in particular, was a nightmare for the Pakistan batters, claiming a maiden five-wicket haul. The Pakistani top order struggled, with only Tayyab Tahir (13) reaching double figures. The rest of the batting lineup, including big names like Babar Azam (1), Abdullah Shafique (1), and Mohammad Rizwan (5), were dismissed for single-digit scores.

Chapman’s replacement, Tim Seifert, had been in sensational form during the preceding five-match T20I series against Pakistan.

Seifert had been the top scorer of the series, accumulating 249 runs at a blistering strike rate of 207.50. His outstanding performances played a significant role in New Zealand’s 4–1 triumph over Pakistan. Despite his recent success in the T20Is, Seifert has not featured in an ODI for New Zealand in over five years, with his last appearance dating back to January 2019 against Sri Lanka.

With the series already decided, New Zealand will look to seal a 3–0 whitewash in the final match on Saturday, even as they manage injuries to key players like Chapman and Latham.

  • Love the actor, hate the character? Nameer Khan’s rise sparks tough conversation

Love the actor, hate the character? Nameer Khan’s rise sparks tough conversation

Model-turned-actor Nameer Khan recently engaged in a conversation with Maliha Rehman on Gloss ETC’s One-on-One, which began as a lighthearted discussion but quickly gained viral attention. When Maliha asked him about the increasing number of his female fans, Nameer chuckled, “A lot, a lot. I enjoy it. Even the demographics of my Instagram have shifted.” He mentioned that while his audience was 80% male during his fashion career, it has transformed to 80 percent female since he transitioned to television. “What else can I expect from the 80 percent,” he humorously asked when questioned about receiving love letters or direct messages.

However, it wasn’t just his playful demeanor that drew attention. The timing of the interview coincided with both the success and controversy surrounding his character in Qarz-e-Jaan, in which he portrays a deeply flawed man shaped by patriarchy, estranged from his father, and guilty of horrific actions, including sexual assault.

The contrast between Nameer’s character on-screen and his true self off-screen is intriguing for viewers. While his role represents toxic masculinity domineering, aggressive, and disturbingly possessiveness, Nameer himself appears soft-spoken, articulate, and self-aware in reality.

Fans have taken note of this disparity.

One Reddit user commented, “He is an exceptional performer certainly destined to be a versatile actor. Good-looking, humble, and well-articulated, I enjoyed his recent interview.” Others remarked that he is “well-spoken, unlike his character,” and began to advocate for him to take on leading roles.

Nonetheless, the admiration has also prompted a more serious discussion: are we, once again, idealizing a problematic male character simply because he is portrayed by an attractive actor?

Qarz-e-Jaan does not try to soften its message- it exposes the hypocrisy of a society that allows men to exploit women outside their homes while fiercely guarding their “own.” Yet, when fans become enamored with Nameer’s appearance and charm, some fear that the character’s brutality may be overlooked amidst the admiration.

Nameer Khan may have just made his mark on television, but he’s already triggering the kind of discussions most actors spend years chasing. And whether audiences are tuning in for his talent or his face, they’re definitely watching.
