Australian tourist’s video about Lahore’s Emporium Mall goes mega-viral

A video made by travel vlogger Andrew Roemer about Emporium Mall in Lahore, Pakistan, has gone viral, racking up almost a million views on Instagram.

The tourist was impressed by the huge mall. Comparing it to some of the best shopping centres he has visited worldwide, Roemer expressed his admiration for the mall’s scale, luxury, and modern infrastructure.

“This place is better than most malls in Australia,” he remarked upon arriving, adding that Emporium Mall rivals even the world-famous shopping centres in Thailand. The vlogger was particularly impressed by the variety of stores and the overall ambience, calling the experience “crazy” in the best way possible.

A friend of Roemer, who has travelled extensively across the world, made an interesting observation, saying, “This mall is better than most of the malls we have in America these days.” He pointed out that in Western countries, online shopping has taken over, reducing the appeal of physical retail spaces. “I do a lot of Amazon shopping myself,” he admitted, joking that he usually only visits malls when his wife takes him out to buy clothes.

His reaction highlights how Pakistan’s shopping destinations are evolving, offering world-class experiences that even seasoned travelers find impressive.

Seeing the reactions the video was getting, Andrew made another video, one focused on shopping malls.

The vlogger is now eager to explore more top-tier malls worldwide and has invited his audience to share recommendations. “I want to find the best malls in the world,” he said, encouraging viewers to suggest must-visit shopping destinations in their own countries.

  • ‘Pakistan’s political situation threatening regional security,’ warns Imran Khan in Time op-ed

‘Pakistan’s political situation threatening regional security,’ warns Imran Khan in Time op-ed

Former Prime Minister and founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan wrote an op-ed in the American news magazine Time on February 28, expressing concerns that Pakistan’s democratic backslide could threaten regional security.

Khan has been imprisoned since 2023 on multiple charges, ranging from corruption to misuse of power. He lost power in April 2022 through a vote of no-confidence in Parliament—an act he alleged to be part of a foreign conspiracy against him.

“The politically motivated charges against me are nothing more than an attempt to silence my fight for democracy. The erosion of democracy in Pakistan has far-reaching consequences,” wrote Khan in Time.

He further asserted: “A destabilized Pakistan threatens regional security, disrupts trade, and weakens global democratic values. The world must recognize the urgency of this crisis—not just for Pakistan’s future, but for the stability of South Asia and beyond.”

He alleged that his political party has been the victim of “unprecedented oppression,” with many international organizations expressing concerns. He also raised the issue of military trials for PTI workers convicted in cases related to the violent riots of May 9, 2023.

Interestingly, Khan also pointed out that if Pakistan continues down this path, it risks losing its preferential trade status with the European Union.

Pakistan has held GSP+ status since 2014, granting it preferential access to the European market. It remains the largest beneficiary among all GSP+ countries, with exports exceeding €6 billion in 2023.

He warned: “Pakistan risks losing its preferential trade status with the EU, a move that would devastate our economy, particularly the textile sector. Yet, those in power in Pakistan continue down their reckless path.”

Khan also lashed out at Pakistani authorities over the surge in terrorism in the country, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

According to the incarcerated leader, “This has not happened by accident, nor is it simply chance. Rather than addressing these critical security threats, the Pakistani military’s resources have been diverted to a campaign of vengeance against political opponents such as PTI.”

Imran Khan also disclosed that he had authorized his party leaders to engage in dialogue with government leaders to prevent violence.

“Our agenda was clear: a judicial commission to investigate attacks on PTI party workers and unarmed protesters. We also demanded the release of all political prisoners,” he wrote.

“In response, I was offered house arrest in exchange for ambiguous “political space” for PTI, but I rejected this outright”, he added.

He congratulated US President Donald Trump for his “remarkable political comeback.”

“The road ahead will be difficult, but I have no doubt that the people of Pakistan, united in their resolve, will overcome these challenges,” Imran Khan concluded.

  • ‘Stay away from me’; Resham recalls Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar’s rude behaviour with her

‘Stay away from me’; Resham recalls Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar’s rude behaviour with her

Iconic actress Resham has dissed Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar in a way that only she could manage, asserting that his writing no longer possesses the impact it once did.

In a recent interview, the veteran actress expressed dissatisfaction with the acclaimed yet controversial writer.
Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar, recognized for his divisive statements and once-admired scripts, has been a topic of heated debate for several years. While his previous works, such as Pyaray Afzal and Mere Paas Tum Ho made a significant impression, his latest scripts have failed to recreate the magic. Resham believes that the reason for this is that he has lost his flair.

She recounted a surprising personal experience with Khalil-ur-Rehman at an event, detailing how the writer, infamous for misogynistic comments, openly disrespected her.

She remembered being invited to a gathering by Humayun Saeed.
What happened there left her stunned. “When I greeted Khalil-ur-Rehman, he aggressively retorted, ‘Don’t say salam, stay away from me!’ Oh my God, I can’t even convey how he phrased it—it distorted my expression. I simply stepped back to prevent creating a scene at the event. I hold my respect in high regard, otherwise, I swear I know how to react to such behavior,” she narrated.

During the interview, Resham also fervently spoke about the importance of humility, proclaiming, “I genuinely believe that one should not raise their head in arrogance, as that falls into the realm of pride.” The discussion took an unexpected turn when the interviewer inquired if she would ever accept a role crafted by Khalil-ur-Rehman if it truly resonated with her.
That is when Resham disclosed her disillusionment with the writer, criticizing how his scripts have become mere replicas of their former selves.

Yet, she did not end her critique there. Voicing her disappointment, she remarked, “I was once among his many great fans, but recently, I have noticed that he is copying Indian dramas. None of his dialogues are memorable anymore, which was once his biggest strength.”
This revelation has once proved that Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar is one of the most controversial figures in the industry. Previously celebrated for crafting memorable dialogues, Resham’s comments have brought up concerns about whether his impact on Pakistani storytelling remains as significant as it used to be.

Husband kills wife, tries to make it look like suicide

A woman was allegedly murdered by her husband in the Naseerabad area of Rawalpindi, with the accused attempting to stage the murder to look like suicide. After the police began an investigation, the culprit was taken into custody right away.

Initial reports state that the event occurred at a home in Naseerabad, where the victim Rubina’s body was found in strange circumstances.  After being called to the scene, local police collected evidence and interviewed people involved in the case.  Authorities discovered evidence throughout the inquiry that the incident was a deliberate act of homicide rather than a suicide.

According to reports, forensic evidence and additional investigation of the murder site contradicted the initial assertion that the lady had committed suicide.  Rubina’s husband Abdul Salam is the main suspect in the inquiry. Based on the findings, law enforcement officials moved swiftly to arrest him.

Following the completion of medico-legal procedures, the body was given to Rubina’s family.

Officials have indicated that additional legal actions will take place, with further forensic examinations and witness statements anticipated to contribute to the case.

Police stressed that legal procedures are being followed in handling the case. They reaffirmed their dedication to ensuring an open inquiry, declaring that each aspect of the case will be thoroughly investigated.

Authorities have asked the public to submit any pertinent information that might aid in the investigation, even though the motivation for the act remains undetermined. To ascertain the exact circumstances behind the victim’s death, law enforcement organizations are still examining the evidence that has been collected.

The case emphasizes the significance of quick legal action and ongoing concerns about domestic abuse. Proper procedures will be followed, and the investigation’s conclusions will dictate the prosecution’s strategy.

  • Govinda’s wife Sunita responds to divorce rumours

Govinda’s wife Sunita responds to divorce rumours

Sunita Ahuja, the wife of Bollywood star Govinda, has finally addressed reports of their divorce after 37 years of marriage.

Days after Indian media first reported that Govinda and Sunita Ahuja have been living separately and she has filed for divorce after he allegedly began an affair with a 30-year-old Marathi film actress, Sunita spoke out to refute the rumors.

In a video circulating on social media, Sunita denied all such reports, saying, “If there’s anyone who can dare to separate us, me and Govinda, from each other, please step forward.”

She clarified her past comments about living in separate houses, explaining, “Living separately means when Govinda joined politics, party workers used to come to our place. Our daughter has grown up now; we wander around the house comfortably in shorts, which is why we took an office space near our house.”

Indian media outlet Zoom TV first reported earlier this week that Govinda and his wife, who have been living separately for some time due to their contrasting lifestyle choices, have decided to end their marriage of 37 years and are headed for divorce.

Another report from Bollywood Now suggested that Govinda’s alleged affair with a 30-year-old Marathi film actress was the reason behind their divorce.

However, Sunita’s manager dismissed the divorce rumors, saying, “This is not true.”

Govinda’s lawyer Lalit Bindal also clarified that Sunita had filed for divorce from him last year. However, they have sorted their issues, and the couple is happy together now.
Govinda has been married to Sunita Ahuja since 1987, but they kept their marriage a secret for four years.
