“I ask myself this question every morning, and I tell myself, ‘Yes’, because I am manifesting it for myself. If I don’t think about it, it won’t happen. But I feel my baby is still young and needs her mother. But I do miss television,” she said in response to a question about her potential return.

The Jalan star also spoke about an actress she admired.

“I like Hania Aamir a lot. She is beautiful and talented. I really appreciate how she has transformed herself. I feel like she has accepted everything about herself. She knows who she is. I believe that’s what makes a woman strong. You don’t need to explain to anyone who you are when you already know it yourself,” Minal said.

After giving one hit drama serial after another, Minal took a break from TV serials when she tied the knot with Ahsan Mohsin Ikram on September 10, 2021.

I’m here. It’s not difficult; I know you’ll be scared, but I’ll take you along with me on this journey.’ Thanks to her support, I didn’t feel left out,” she said.

Reflecting on her postpartum experiences, the Nand actress revealed the difficulties she faced after giving birth.

In that moment I realized how vulnerable I was… I couldn’t even take a minute off because I was a mother now,” Minal added.

PTI decides to head to Islamabad, again

Days after being forced to retreat to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) amid dozens of casualties at the protest march, the Parliamentary Committee of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to head back to Islamabad with “full preparations”.

As per the details, KP Chief Minister (CM) Ali Amin Gandapur chaired a meeting of the party’s parliamentary committee at the CM House with Members of Provincial Assembly (MPAs) and Members of National Assembly (MNAs) in attendance.

During the meeting, the party’s lawmakers expressed confidence in CM Gandapur and discussed law enforcement’s violence against PTI workers in the federal capital. They also put forth their suggestions for the future.

The parliamentary committee expressed displeasure over the party’s central leadership and questioned why was it absent when “law enforcement opened fire at D-Chowk”.

Despite the government repeatedly denying claims regarding the use of lethal rounds, the PTI leadership maintains that dozens of its supporters were killed after security forces opened fire during Tuesday night’s grand clearance operation.

The KP CM had on Friday night also issued threats to the federal government, saying, “We are coming back to Islamabad, and a decision has been made regarding this.”

“We will fight for our rights, and if we do not receive justice, we will respond in the same manner… our children have been martyred,” he said on the floor of the KP Assembly.

Gandapur also responded to the claims regarding the imposition of Governor’s Rule in the province. “We are not interested in power and positions. We cannot be intimidated by such threats. Try us,” he added.

Earlier, Adviser to PM on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah had stated that the federal cabinet, in its meeting, discussed the option of imposing Governor’s Rule in KP.

He said the matter came up for consideration as KP’s resources were being used to “stage violent protests” in Islamabad.

While a majority of federal cabinet members supported the proposal, consensus could not be reached with allies of the ruling PML-N.

Awami National Party (ANP) chief Aimal Wali Khan, while addressing a press conference along with KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Friday, said that Governor’s Rule in KP was not the solution to the ongoing crises.

Governor Kundi himself also opposed Governor’s Rule, but added that he had only heard about it on the news.

Kundi also reacted to a recently-tabled resolution in the Punjab Assembly, which sought a ban on the PTI. “The events of May 9 and November 24 provide enough justification for a ban. PTI has been a disruptive force in the province for years.”

  • ICC meeting on Champions Trophy postponed again

ICC meeting on Champions Trophy postponed again

A crucial International Cricket Council (ICC) Board meeting, scheduled for Saturday, to decide on the fate of the hosting of the Champions Trophy has been postponed again.

Yesterday’s ICC board meeting on the venue of the Champions Trophy could not be decided, after which the meeting was postponed until today.

However, ICC sources now say that the Board meeting will not be held today. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is standing by its stance, while the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has asked for more time after Pakistan’s refusal to buckle to pressure.

According to Geo, the ICC board meeting is likely to be held in the next 48 hours, while the term of ICC Chairman Greg Barclay is also likely to be extended by one month.

ICC Chairman Greg Barclay’s term was scheduled till November 30. India’s Jay Shah was to take over as ICC Chairman from December 1.

A decision was to be made at the ICC board meeting today on whether the Champions Trophy will be held in Pakistan or not.

Pakistan had asked for an acceptable formula for the trophy before the board meeting, and PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi informed the ICC of Pakistan’s clear stance.

Earlier, Mohsin Naqvi had said that the Board will bear wounds, but will not let their honour be compromised.  PCB has almost completed all the arrangements for the Champions Trophy.

India’s refusal to come to Pakistan has complicated the matter, and PCB says that a match with India at a neutral venue under a hybrid model is not acceptable.

India is lobbying to take the entire Champions Trophy out of Pakistan, but PCB has prepared to block Indian tactics. The Pakistan Cricket Board will not accept any option without its conditions.

How much will PCB get from hosting the Champions Trophy?

Pakistan is set to host the Champions Trophy 2025, but do you know how much money the country will get to host the mega event?

According to reports, Pakistan will get $6 million for hosting rights to the ICC Champions Trophy. Pakistan will also have to pay $1.2 to $1.3 million as a premium to the insurance company to insure the tournament. Pakistan will get more dollars from gate money and hospitality, thus deducting the insurance amount and getting about $6 million.

The ICC provides Pakistan with two instalments of $13 million from its income every year in January and July, while India gets 38 per cent of the annual share of ICC income, which is $90 to $95 million.

  • Maham Aamir applauds Hareem Farooq’s bold stance on body positivity

Maham Aamir applauds Hareem Farooq’s bold stance on body positivity

Actor Maham Aamir has praised Hareem Farooq for promoting body positivity through her character Masooma in the TV series Bismil.

In a recent interview, Hareem Farooq shared that she chose not to lose weight through crash diets for her role in ‘Bismil’ because it was affecting her mental health during a tough period in her life. Maham Aamir, wife of actor-host Faizan Sheikh, took to Instagram to applaud Hareem for her honesty about societal pressures.

“Thank you for saying this, Hareem Farooq,” Aamir wrote in response to Hareem’s viral confession.

“Constant pressure to look a certain way isn’t easy for a lot of women in our society,” she added.

“Comments that women face in our everyday life… These are not nice, and trust me, nobody wants to hear how fat/skinny/chubby or different a woman looks.”

“They know what they are going through, please STOP telling them,” Aamir urged, ending with a folded hands emoji.

Earlier, actress and producer Hareem Farooq’s journey in ‘Bismil’ revealed her character’s complexities and her battle with psoriasis.

In a recent interview with BBC Urdu, she discussed her role in the drama.

“I developed a skin condition called psoriasis during the shoot, which caused red spots to appear on my face and other parts of my body. The scars on my face may not look appealing to everyone, but they will encourage others who suffer from the same condition,” she said.

Psoriasis is a condition where the skin cells grow too quickly, causing red, scaly patches on the skin. When asked about her physical transformation, the ’22 Qadam’ actress shared that she initially considered losing weight before shooting ‘Bismil’.

“Before shooting started, I was going through a difficult phase in my life, which caused me to gain weight. I thought about losing it but eventually gave up. I had the option to delay the shoot by months, but I chose not to. I decided to shoot with the weight I had,” Hareem Farooq stated.

When asked about her work in the industry, Hareem explained, “Pakistan doesn’t have a film industry, so the same actors work in both films and dramas. All the other Pakistani actors, including me, work in films out of passion. If the country had a film industry, we wouldn’t have to work in dramas.”

Earlier, in a recent interview with Something Haute hosted by Hassan Choudhary, Hareem Farooq talked about her role in ‘Bismil’.

Hareem Farooq said, “When I first discussed the role of Masooma in ‘Bismil’, my primary focus was to align it with the director’s vision. I always asked the director [Aehsun Talish], ‘How do you see this character?’ I wanted to ensure we were on the same page.”

“The director described Masooma as someone who acts out of innocence, not malice. This resonated with me because I believe people are rarely inherently evil. Their experiences shape their actions. Masooma’s impulsive decisions reflect innocence… where she doesn’t consider long-term consequences… a characteristic I find relatable in real life,” the ‘Bismil’ actress explained.

Talking about Masooma’s intentions, Hareem shared, “I wouldn’t call her a gold digger because it wasn’t just about money. She was also running after security, wanting power, wanting change in her life. She wanted that lifestyle for herself. It’s a very selfish manner, but she cared about securing her future. Once she has something in her grasp, she won’t let go. I think Masooma’s relationship with TT [Nauman Ijaz] is more than just that of a gold digger… she is a selfish person, but not just running after money.”

‘Bismil’, featuring Hareem Farooq, Nauman Ijaz, Savera Nadeem, and Saad Qureshi, airs every Wednesday and Thursday on ARY Digital.

  • Nabeel Zafar slams award shows

    Nabeel Zafar slams award shows

Actor and producer Nabeel Zafar doesn’t hold back when it comes to award shows.

Appearing as a guest on Faysal Quraishi’s Pressure Buhat Hai podcast, Nabeel expressed frustration with biased award selection process and emphasized the need to honor those who truly deserve recognition.

“For me, awards hold no personal significance. Be it national or private, I view awards as a form of appreciation. However, if the appreciation is discredited toward the wrong individual, it can be upsetting for those who truly deserve it,” he remarked.

The Dhuwan actor raised concerns about the unfairness in the award system, saying, “In our system, there’s so much bias that even when someone receives an accolade like the Pride of Performance, they end up justifying themselves, saying they have no political affiliations or ulterior motives. It makes one think, I believe awards should exist but must go to the deserving ones. After all, real recognition comes directly from the audience, starting the moment you step outside.”

Nabeel shared a special moment that showed him what true recognition really is.

“Recently, I received a call about a child with Down syndrome who wanted to meet me. When we met, he enthusiastically discussed Bulbulay, asking repeatedly about the characters, including Mahmood Sahab and Khoobsurat. His father told me that the child believes the show’s world is real. Moments like these, for me, are the true awards,” the Bulbulay actor shared.

Nabeel looked back at the early days of Bulbulay and shared the challenges they faced in casting Ayesha Omar.

“Casting Ayesha Omar was a challenge. She was transitioning from being a VJ, and many actors hesitated to take on comedy due to its delicate nature—too much, and it seems overdone; too little, and it falls flat. Despite initial skepticism, Ayesha joined, though she often faced criticism from her family about the show’s ‘nonsensical comedy.’ But, as I once assured her, Bulbulay would eventually define her identity,” the Qissa Saat Raaton Ka actor said.

Earlier, Nabeel Zafar appeared as a guest on FHM podcast hosted by Adnan Faisal and shared an exciting story about his on-screen mother and fellow colleague Hina Dilpazeer, who plays the character of Momo in the show.

“When I called Hina, we had previously worked together on the telefilm ‘Burns Road Ki Nilofar,’ which was very successful. In that project, we had scenes together and it was a very good telefilm. People knew ‘Burns Road Ki Nilofar’, so I called her and said, ‘Look, you might be two or four years younger than me, but the role is of a mother.’ To which she said, ‘No, no, no, I will do it’.”

PTI shares, then deletes graphic video from 2019 claiming police brutality

A graphic video is being pushed on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) affiliated social media accounts, depicting severely injured people in a hospital, alleging that the victims in the footage are injured PTI protestors in Islamabad.

Fact Check: The graphic video is from 2019 Nankana Sahib’s DHQ Hospital when two rival groups opened fire on each other.

PTI’s official page on Instagram shared the video; however, it was later deleted.  Some PTI supporters are still sharing the video, claiming it to be the victims of an alleged massacre after the security forces launched a crackdown on PTI protestors in Islamabad.

Sabir Shakir posted the video on November 29 with the caption: “This is the floor of a hospital in Islamabad.” The post has garnered more than 116K views till now with more than seven thousand reposts and eleven thousand likes.

Likewise, another social media user re-tweeted the video, writing, “What story are the injured protesters brought to Islamabad hospital after the operation on November 26 and their blood on the floor?”

Another user posted, “This is not Palestine or Gaza, but the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, where innocent people are being massacred. Yazid and descendants of Yazid are still present in the world.”

Another X user wrote, “Every one can see Nawaz, Maryam  @MaryamNSharif‘s. signatures in mass murder of innocent people 3 days hungry thirsty & sleep deprived along with General Asim and Shahbaz face. Why we Pakistan tolerate it ?”

While multiple PTI supporting accounts ran trending hashtags like #گولی_کیوں_چلائی and #IslamabadMassacre.

After PTI began its “final call” towards Islamabad, tensions between law enforcement and protesters ran high, as the federal government deployed the military in Islamabad by invoking Article 245 of the Constitution.

A notification issued by the Interior Ministry said that the army had been authorised to impose a curfew in any locality deemed necessary to maintain law and order.

The opposition leader in the National Assembly, Omar Ayub Khan, on Friday demanded a judicial probe into the recent use of force against protesters in the federal capital.

“The chief justice of Pakistan should constitute a fact-finding committee to bring facts to the fore,” said Omar Ayub who is the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member National Assembly from the Haripur district while talking to reporters in the Peshawar High Court (PHC) where he had turned up to secure a transit bail.

The PTI leader said the party leadership shared the grief of the families of those who died in Islamabad. He also said the financial compensation had already been announced by the KP government for the heirs of the deceased and the injured.
