‘Bhai AI hai’: Internet reacts to Australia’s worst T20I defeat

Pakistan produced a historic performance in the third and final T20I against Australia, sealing a dominant clean sweep and handing the visitors their worst defeat in the format. The match ended with Pakistan winning by a massive 111 runs.

Batting first, Pakistan posted 207 runs, their highest ever T20I total against Australia.  In reply, Australia collapsed for just 96 runs, recording their heaviest defeat in T20 Internationals. Their previous worst loss had come in 2005, when England beat them by 100 runs.

As the one-sided contest unfolded, social media exploded with reactions from fans on both sides.

Pakistani supporters celebrated the dominance with pride and disbelief. One viral post summed up the mood perfectly: “Bhai AI hai.” Another widely shared reaction read, “This is Pakistan cricket at its best Well done boys .” Even Australian fans could not hide their frustration, with the X account Aussies Army writing, “Embarrassing situation .”

Meanwhile, optimism flooded Pakistani timelines, with comments like, “Insha Allah 2026 World Cup is ours this time,” and “Ab lagh raha sahi Pak team download hogayi.”

On the field, Pakistan’s bowlers delivered a ruthless performance. Mohammad Nawaz produced a career-defining spell, taking five wickets and becoming the first Pakistani bowler to claim a five-wicket haul against Australia in T20I. He also became only the second Pakistani overall to achieve the feat in the format, after Umar Gul.

Shaheen Shah Afridi added another milestone to his name by completing 25 wickets in the first over of T20I, once again proving his impact with the new ball.

With the bat, Babar Azam continued his record-breaking run. His half-century in the match took his tally to 39 T20 International fifties, the most by any player in the format.

Pakistan completed the series clean sweep in emphatic fashion, winning the first match by 22 runs, the second by 90 runs and the third by 111 runs.

  • Meri Zindagi Hai Tu: Mills & Boon toxicity, now in Urdu

Meri Zindagi Hai Tu: Mills & Boon toxicity, now in Urdu

Read the toxic Mill and Boons? Or Judith McNaught? The thwarted duke, snubbed by the brave heroine who then loses all her intelligence and marries him even though he’s obnoxious to her and isn’t going to change his rakish ways?

Welcome to the Urdu televised version of the same, incredibly toxic romance novels. Meri Zindagi Hai Tu’s latest episodes this week, Episode 25 and 26, result in a marriage which Ayra’s (Hania Aamir) father does not agree to, but Ayra must, must do because she feels guilty. Why? Because rich hero Kamyar (Bilal Abbas) will kill himself in drunken, self-annihilating ways because he cant get over what happened to him. Ayra walks out on him, kicks him out of his house and he just cannot deal and also, yes, doesn’t want to marry Ayra. But marries her because she wants to marry her so that she can ‘save him’.

If you were expecting anything profound or thought-provoking to come out of this drama, please stop now because it isn’t. The drama is fluff, fun fluff at this point and it’s not meant to contribute anything to a better society. But the absolute trash that is Kamyar is just cringe-worthy. Why is it that we are still watching? Because let’s be honest, we do love the mindless toxic trash but its very important to understand that in real life, none of this is okay.

It gets so much worse in Episode 26, when Fariha (Vardah Aziz) who Kamyar tried to murder by giving her fake pills, still picks up his phone and gets in a car with the guy who tried to murder her, who is drinking and driving and while driving, tells him that she wanted to go to a party with him. It’s too much and it doesn’t get much better.

And Ayra? She’ls being her sassy self with him, telling him off just as much as he tells her off and seeing how bad and dysfunctional his family dynamics are. Is she going to fix them? Of course, because bad boy-gone-good-boy-gone-bad-boy will turn good again.

It’s literally too much to handle so the strongest recommendation is to watch it, because the masala chemistry is really good but watch this care because you definitely don’t want to see anyone go through this incredibly toxic love story in real life.

Cable theft turns deadly as three suffocate inside PTCL manhole

Three alleged cable thieves died of suffocation while three others were rescued after being trapped inside a Pakistan Telecommunication Company (PTCL) manhole in Mandi Bahauddin.

According to Sub-Inspector Riasat Ali, spokesperson for the Mandi Bahauddin police, a PTCL official contacted the police helpline shortly after midnight to report that the cover of a PTCL manhole on Wasu Road had been partially removed.

Responding to the call, a police team reached the site and found three young men, later identified as Bilal, Zahid and Adeel, stealing PTCL’s underground cables with a cutter. All three belonged to Alipur tehsil in Muzaffargarh district.

During questioning, the suspects informed police that three of their accomplices had entered another nearby PTCL manhole to carry out the theft.

Upon searching the second manhole, police discovered all three youths lying unconscious. Rescue 1122 was immediately called to the scene. After examining the victims, all three were declared dead due to suffocation.

The deceased were identified as Shahbaz (21), Shan (23) and another young man whose identity could not be confirmed immediately. Police said all three also hailed from Alipur, Muzaffargarh district.

The bodies were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Mandi Bahauddin, where postmortem examinations were conducted before the bodies were handed over to their families.

Meanwhile, Civil Lines Police Station in Mandi Bahauddin registered separate cases against the suspects as well as PTCL contractors Hazoor Bukhash and Younis, both residents of Muzaffargarh currently living in Islamabad.

The cases were registered under Sections 322, 379 and 511 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), along with Section 25-A of the Telegraph Act 1885, on the complaint of PTCL Manager Kashif Hafeez.

  • 58 terrorists killed as security forces thwart 12 Fitna al-Hindustan attacks across Balochistan

58 terrorists killed as security forces thwart 12 Fitna al-Hindustan attacks across Balochistan

Security forces on Saturday killed at least 58 terrorists as clashes continued across Balochistan following coordinated attacks by Fitna al-Hindustan at 12 different locations, media reports said.

According to reports, 10 security personnel were also martyred in said action against Fitna al-Hindustan – a term used by civil and military authorities for Balochistan-based terrorist groups working as Indian proxies – and all attacks were thwarted due to timely and effective action by law enforcement agencies.

State-run Radio Pakistan, citing security sources, reported that pursuit and engagement operations were continuing at multiple locations, with reports of further terrorist casualties and damage emerging as operations progressed.

In a post on X, Balochistan Chief Minister (CM) Sarfraz Bugti said security forces had killed more than 70 terrorists across the province over the past two days.

“In the morning, in an attempt to shore up their declining morale, Fitna-al-Hindustan terrorists attempted attacks at multiple locations,” he said, adding that the Balochistan Police and Frontier Corps (FC) jointly repelled the assaults and killed another 37 terrorists.

“These attacks cannot weaken our resolve. We will continue to pursue terrorists until the last one is eliminated,” he added.

CM Bugti also visited the site of a bomb blast in Quetta to review the security situation. A statement from the CM House said Inspector General of Police (IGP) Muhammad Tahir briefed the CM on the incident as he also met security and police personnel.

“The timely response against terrorist elements is commendable,” Bugti was quoted as saying, praising the police and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD).

“Anti-state elements will not be forgiven under any circumstances. There will be no compromise on peace in Balochistan,” he said.

Earlier, armed attacks, firing and explosions were reported in several areas, including the provincial capital. Police said gunmen attacked a police mobile unit on Sariab Road, killing two police personnel and injuring three others. The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital, while the police vehicle caught fire.

A blast near Hockey Chowk in Red Zone also injured two people. Following the incidents, authorities sealed parts of the Red Zone, and activities at the Civil Secretariat, courts and some government offices were temporarily suspended.

Officials said armed men also attacked Khaliq Shaheed Police Station in the Eastern Bypass area, while videos circulating online showed an attack on Sheikh Zayed Hospital on the Quetta–Karachi road. Gunmen also targeted private banks in Hazarganji and entered a private school on Zarghoon Road.

Firing was also reported on Qambrani Road and Zarghun Road as security forces exchanged fire with attackers. Security checkpoints were set up at Quetta’s entry and exit points, and residents were advised to avoid unnecessary movement.

Emergency measures were imposed at government hospitals, including Civil Hospital Quetta, Bolan Medical Complex (BMC) Hospital and trauma centres, to handle casualties.

Officials said attempted attacks were also reported in Nushki, Dalbandin, Kalat, Gwadar, Pasni, Tump and Mastung, where terrorists targeted government buildings and security installations.

In Mastung, attackers injured several people, including a police officer, and freed more than 30 prisoners from central jail. Clashes were also reported near the DC headquarters and police lines in Kalat.

In Nushki, armed men abducted Deputy Commissioner Hussain Hazara along with his family and later released a video of the incident. In Pasni, a Coast Guards post came under attack, which security forces repelled, killing eight terrorists in retaliatory fire.

Authorities closed the Quetta–Sibi highway at Bolan, shut the Quetta–Karachi–Taftan highway at Lak Pass, and blocked the Qila Saifullah–Rakhni road, while explosive material planted on a railway track in Nasirabad was defused.

Reports also quoted security sources as saying that Indian media and social media platforms openly supported Fitna-al-Hindustan during the attacks, saying the coordination further exposed what they described as a nexus between the group and hostile information campaigns.

  • US approves $9 Billion sale of patriot missiles to Saudi Arabia

US approves $9 Billion sale of patriot missiles to Saudi Arabia

The U.S. State Department has approved the potential sale of Patriot interceptor missiles and related equipment to Saudi Arabia at an estimated cost of $9 billion. The approval comes after a request by Saudi Arabia to purchase 730 Patriot advanced capability-3 missile segment enhancement missiles, known as PAC-3 MSE.

Lockheed Martin Corp will serve as the principal contractor for the sale, which will not result in any adverse impact on U.S. defense readiness.

According to the State Department, the sale is intended to support the foreign policy and national security objectives of the United States by improving the security of a Major non-NATO Ally that is a force for political stability and economic progress in the Gulf Region.

The enhanced missile capability is expected to protect land forces of Saudi Arabia, the United States, and local allies. It will also significantly improve Saudi Arabia’s contribution to the integrated air and missile defense system in the region, the department added.

The announcement of the sale comes amid ongoing security concerns in the Middle East and follows a series of arms agreements by the United States with regional partners.

  • Further drop in gold, silver rates across markets

Further drop in gold, silver rates across markets

Gold and silver continued their sharp decline on Saturday in both international and domestic markets, reflecting a widespread downturn in bullion rates.

In the international market, gold fell by $255 per ounce, settling at $4,895. The drop was mirrored locally, with the price of gold per tola dropping by Rs25,500 to Rs511,862, while 10 grams of gold fell by Rs21,862 to Rs438,839.

Silver also moved lower, with per tola rates declining by Rs2,063 to Rs9,006, and 10 grams falling by Rs1,768 to Rs7,721.

The downturn follows a dramatic correction on Friday, when gold prices in Pakistan plunged by over Rs35,000 amid steep profit-taking. Investors rushed to secure gains as expectations for aggressive US interest rate cuts faded and the US dollar strengthened.

On Friday, gold per tola fell by Rs35,500 to Rs537,362, while 10 grams of gold dropped by Rs30,435 to Rs460,701, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA). Silver also faced heavy losses, declining by Rs1,106 to Rs11,069 per tola.

The sharp fall reversed gains from Thursday, when gold had surged to Rs572,862 per tola after a single-day increase of Rs21,200, marking one of the most volatile sessions in recent weeks.

The combined effect of international market corrections and domestic profit-taking has kept precious metals under pressure, highlighting the sensitivity of gold and silver prices to global economic indicators and investor sentiment.

Hina Afridi reveals she refuses ‘crying roles’, shares dream to play army characters

Pakistani actress Hina Afridi has revealed that she has turned down several offers to work in popular dramas, explaining that she does not want to play characters who spend their time crying.

In a recent interview, Hina said, “When I was offered the drama Raja Rani, I received three offers at the same time. I had to choose one.” She continued, “I did not want to play a crying girl, so I turned down Iqtidar and Behroopiya. Raja Rani seemed the best choice because the girl in it is very strong. She does not fear anyone and even hits back when needed.”

Hina Afridi also shared her personal aspirations for the future. “I want to play an army character one day because I love wearing khaki [brown] colored sarees,” she said.

  • Trump, Clinton, Musk, Gates named in new Epstein leaks with horrifying details

Trump, Clinton, Musk, Gates named in new Epstein leaks with horrifying details

The US Department of Justice has released millions of new documents related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, marking the largest government disclosure since a law mandating the release of Epstein files was passed last year. The collection includes three million pages, 180,000 images, and 2,000 videos, made public on Friday.

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche described the release as the conclusion of an extensive review process, saying it was carried out “to ensure transparency to the American people and compliance.” The files include records of Epstein’s prison time, a psychological evaluation, his death in custody, and investigative documents on Ghislaine Maxwell, who was convicted of aiding Epstein in sex trafficking.

The materials also contain emails exchanged between Epstein and high-profile figures over more than a decade, covering his relationships during legal challenges. Epstein was convicted in 2008 in Florida for soliciting sex from a 14-year-old after a plea agreement, and died in August 2019 while facing federal sex trafficking charges.

US President Donald Trump is mentioned hundreds of times in the files. While Trump has acknowledged a past friendship with Epstein, he has denied knowledge of Epstein’s crimes. The documents include a list compiled by the FBI of allegations against Trump submitted via the agency’s national Threat Operation Center, many based on unverified tips.

The Justice Department stated: “Some of the documents contain untrue and sensationalist claims against President Trump that were submitted to the FBI right before the 2020 election. To be clear, the claims are unfounded and false, and if they have a shred of credibility, they certainly would have been weaponised against President Trump already.”

The files also include email exchanges between Epstein and Elon Musk. Correspondence from November 2012 shows Musk asking Epstein, “What day/night will be the wildest party on your island?” and arranging logistics for potential visits. A Christmas 2012 email from Musk stated: “I’ve been working to the edge of sanity this year and so, once my kids head home after Christmas, I really want to hit the party scene in St Barts or elsewhere and let loose.” The request for invites has garnered plentiful online derision.

Allegations involving Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates also appear, though Gates’ spokesperson called them “absolutely absurd and completely false.” The documents include emails suggesting Gates had contracted a sexually transmitted infection from Russian girls, but the spokesperson noted that the emails, drafted by Epstein, demonstrated “the lengths he would go to entrap and defame.” In one email, Gates allegedly asks how to give antibiotics to his wife without her knowing about it.

The newly released files also mention filmmaker Mira Nair, mother of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani. An email from publicist Peggy Siegal to Epstein on October 21, 2009, notes Nair’s attendance at an afterparty for her film Amelia at Maxwell’s residence, alongside former President Bill Clinton and Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos. The email describes the reception of the film, stating: “Film received tepid reaction although women like it much more…Hillary Swank and Gen: at stupid party in Bloomingdales cheap sportwear department…very weird. Studio went for free party from store and windows for a month…Going to be in Wall Street 2 tomorrow…more to come. xoxo Peg.”

The latest Epstein files also include a message from Ghislaine Maxwell sent to an email account associated with former President Bill Clinton that complimented the size of the recipient’s genitals, according to a Trump administration official familiar with the email. It is unclear whether Maxwell was addressing Clinton directly or an aide using the account, whose name was redacted. Clinton has long denied using email and is often referenced in the third person in messages sent from the account. In earlier releases, the files included photographs of Clinton, including one in a hot tub and another with a woman whose face was obscured, though the Justice Department did not provide context or timing for those images.

The release has raised questions about whether all documents have been disclosed. Blanche said the department’s review process is complete, but some Democrats argue that millions of pages remain withheld. Democratic Congressman Ro Khanna said: “The DOJ said it identified over 6 million potentially responsive pages but is releasing only about 3.5 million after review and redactions. This raises questions as to why the rest are being withheld. I will be reviewing closely to see if they release what I’ve been pushing for.”
