How Syed Noor’s first wife Rukhsana allowed him to marry Saima

Renowned director Syed Noor is not just a master of storytelling but also is also a romantic at heart.

Recently, Syed Noor appeared as a guest on ‘Coffee with Samaa’ hosted by Naeem Hanif and Bushra Khan.

During the conversation, Noor said, “I went to pick Saima up from her home for a shoot, and we were chatting when I held her hand. As soon as I did, she looked at me and said, ‘Now that you’ve held my hand, never let it go.’ I knew right then that I wanted to spend the rest of my life making her happy.”

The two tied the knot in July 2005, choosing to keep the relationship secret for several years.

“My first wife, Rukhsana, was a very brave woman. She was quite worried after I told her about my decision to marry Saima, but later she realized that I was true in my love. She gave me permission to marry Saima and allowed her to have all legal rights as my wife. I patiently waited to announce my second marriage until I had Rukhsana’s permission,” Noor added.

When it comes to his children’s reactions to his second marriage, Noor said, “After Rukhsana’s death, my elder daughters married early and left the country; they did not accept Saima. My son Shazil was very young, and Saima took care of him. After that, my children developed love for Saima because my daughters realized how attached she is to me, my son, and my family.”

Syed Noor tied the knot with Rukhsana in 1984. She passed away on 12 January 2017.
