Internet reacts to Shahid- Kareena reunion at IIFA 2025

Bollywood stars Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan surprised fans with a warm hug and conversation at the IIFA 2025 press conference in Jaipur.

Their unexpected interaction quickly became a hot topic on social media, reviving memories of their past relationship and on-screen chemistry.

Shahid addressed the interaction, saying, “For us, it’s nothing new. We meet often at events. If people liked it, that’s nice.” He added that their exchange was normal and without awkwardness.

This wasn’t their first public interaction since their breakup in 2007. At the 2024 Dadasaheb Phalke Awards, Kareena walked past Shahid without acknowledging him, while Shahid remained composed.

Shahid and Kareena were a popular couple in the 2000s, starring in films like Fida (2004), Chup Chup Ke (2006), and the iconic Jab We Met (2007). Their breakup was highly publicized at the time.

Fans praised their friendly behavior at IIFA 2025, noting the improvement in their interactions. One comment read, “Back during Udta Punjab days, they couldn’t even stand together. It took them years to get here!”

However, the internet had mixed reactions to their reunion, with fans posting:

“Normal??… Like did she just ignore him last time? “

“Feels like Kareena wants Shahid’s attention.”

    “Nazar lag gayi jodi ko!”

    “Kareena is blushing!”

“Ghar jaane ke baad Shahid Kapoor ki khair nahi hogi!” (Shahid might be in trouble when he gets home!)

The unexpected interaction sparked nostalgia among fans, especially for their roles as Geet and Aditya in Jab We Met, a milestone in both their careers.

  • ‘My role wasn’t targeted,’ Amar Khan reacts to criticism of Sun Mere Dil

‘My role wasn’t targeted,’ Amar Khan reacts to criticism of Sun Mere Dil

Renowned actor Amar Khan recently addressed the criticism surrounding Sun Mere Dil, which aired during a Ramzan transmission alongside Faisal Quraishi. When asked whether she faced negative feedback after the drama’s release, Amar clarified that while the show received significant criticism, her character remained largely unaffected.

“Sun Mere Dil did face criticism, but not my role. The criticism targeted other aspects, and my character somehow stayed out of that conversation,” she stated.

The drama, written by controversial writer Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar and starring Wahaj Ali and Maya Ali, faced scrutiny for its controversial plot. Unlike traditional stories that easily resonate with viewers, Sun Mere Dil explored themes and character developments that many found difficult to accept. The backlash was primarily directed at the overall concept and execution rather than individual performances.

Notably, certain dialogues sparked controversy. To quote an example, a scene where Ammar’s character refers to Sadaf as “do takkay ki” (“worth two pennies”) drew parallels to previous works by the writer and was criticized for promoting toxic masculinity. Additionally, the repetitive mention of “eight crore,” which viewers felt was overemphasised throughout the series, also became a talking point. These elements contributed to the drama’s polarized reception, with discussions focusing on both the narrative choices and specific dialogues.

While Amar Khan’s role was significant, it did not become a focal point of criticism. While lead actors often bear the weight of a show’s reception, her remarks suggest that the controversy surrounding Sun Mere Dil stemmed from broader storytelling choices rather than her performance.

Her response also refers to an interesting aspect of audience reactions—how some characters or performances can escape public scrutiny even when a project is widely debated. Faisal Quraishi’s question reflected the common assumption that actors in controversial dramas inevitably face backlash, but Amar’s experience proved otherwise.

  • Here’s why you won’t see a Saima Akram drama on TV this Ramadan

Here’s why you won’t see a Saima Akram drama on TV this Ramadan

For years, Saima Akram Chaudhry’s name has been linked with Ramadan entertainment in Pakistan. The scriptwriter of successful serials such as Suno Chanda, Chupke Chupke, Ishq Jalebi, Hum Tum, Chaudhry and Sons, Kala Doriya, and Chand Tara set a standard for lighthearted family dramas that audiences eagerly looked forward to every Ramadan.

Her scripts combined humor, family dynamics, and relatable characters to create an unforgettable viewing experience that drew families together. Suno Chanda became a cultural phenomenon, known for its effortless comedy and endearing characters. Every year, her Ramadan dramas became a ritual for viewers, fostering a tradition of shared laughter and pleasant storytelling.

But this Ramadan feels different. The usual excitement around Ramadan dramas appears to have subsided, and many fans are expressing a desire to see Chaudhry’s scripts on their screens again. Conversations on social media highlight a void—one that has made people nostalgic for previous years, when her stories set the tone for the month’s entertainment.

Saima Akram Chaudhry recently responded to this absence in a statement, explaining why she opted to break away from writing. She elaborated: “I took a break from writing because there was no more variety in my work.” She also described feeling overwhelmed by having to compose many Ramadan dramas at the same time.

Her honesty struck a chord with fans. Many people admired her for realizing the difficulty of spinning fresh tales and stepping back rather than telling stories that felt forced. Some referred to it as an example of self-reflection, something not many writers openly acknowledge in an industry driven by demand.

While Ramadan dramas continue to run on our screens, nostalgia for Chaudhry’s work is strong. It is unclear whether she will return to the genre in the future, but one thing is certain, her storytelling has had an impact that has not faded.

Legal notice issued to Bollywood stars over pan masala ads

Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Tiger Shroff have been served legal notices for allegedly misleading the public through pan masala advertisements.

According to Indian media, the Jaipur-based Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has issued notices to the three actors for endorsing the product in a way that could mislead consumers.

Additionally, a notice has been sent to Vimal Pan Masala Chairman Vimal Kumar Agarwal. The commission has summoned all four individuals on March 19, instructing them to appear either in person or through their representatives. It has also warned that failure to comply may result in a unilateral decision.

Furthermore, the commission has directed the actors and the pan masala company to submit their responses within 30 days of receiving the notice.

Media reports indicate that a Jaipur-based lawyer filed the complaint, alleging that the advertisements falsely claim the product contains saffron. According to the complaint, this misleading claim has encouraged many people to consume the unhealthy pan masala regularly, leading to massive profits for the company.

Saw this viral video? Well, here’s what you didn’t know…

A recent video of actress Hira Soomro confronting TV host Muhammad Shoaib for arriving late to a recording has gone viral. While many social media users believed the moment was real, it has now been revealed that the entire exchange was scripted and planned by the show’s host.

Hira Soomro appeared on PTV’s Rising Pakistan, where she engaged in a discussion about her career. However, a particular clip from the show sparked debate, showing Hira seemingly upset with the host for his late arrival.

In the video, Muhammad Shoaib sets up a scenario, telling Hira, “Let’s create a situation because you have a natural way of acting.” He then describes a scene where she arrives on time, while he, as the host, is late and throwing tantrums. Hira, appearing confused, asks, “Oh, this wasn’t in the script, right?” to which Shoaib replies, “No, it just popped into my mind, so I thought of crafting it.”

Following this setup, Hira acts out the scene, pretending to be upset and saying, “Apologizing won’t bring back the wasted time.” However, many viewers who saw only the viral clip believed it was a genuine confrontation rather than a planned segment.

The video has since led to a heated discussion online. Some criticized the show for misleading viewers, while others argued that it was simply an example of improvisational acting. Regardless, the clip has sparked a conversation about how unscripted moments on television can sometimes be carefully crafted to engage audiences.

Nazish Jahangir breaks silence on fraud allegations

Renowned actress Nazish Jahangir has finally addressed the fraud allegations against her, dismissing them as baseless and claiming they were part of a blackmail and extortion attempt.

Speaking on Nida Yasir’s Ramzan show, she opened up about the accusations made by emerging actor Aswad Haroon for the first time. While she did not name him directly, she alleged, “An attempt was made to tarnish my name and career by making false allegations against me in a systematic manner.”

She further stated, “No one knows the person who made these allegations against me. They just wanted to gain fame by using my name.” She also revealed that she was pressured for money, saying, “I was badly blackmailed, and they even tried to extort money from me.”

She explained that she deliberately chose not to respond at the time. “I worked hard to make a name for myself. If I had reacted, my name would have been tarnished even more, and the accuser’s goal would have been achieved,” she said.

She added that she avoids addressing personal matters on social media. “If I had responded to the allegations, people would have considered me guilty, and the accuser’s attempt would have succeeded.” She shared that her father advised her to pursue legal action instead of engaging in public controversy.

She confirmed, “I took legal action against the accuser, and now the matter has been settled.”

Nazish also referred to the PECA Ordinance, emphasising, “No social media page, YouTuber, or blogger can post any picture, video, or statement of any person, including actors, without their permission. Legal action can be taken for such violations.”

In September 2024, a local court in Lahore rejected her bail in a fraud case filed by Aswad Haroon. He had alleged that he gave Nazish millions of rupees in cash, a luxury car worth over five million, and other valuable gifts, believing she would introduce him as a hero in the entertainment industry.

Now, after six months of silence, Nazish Jahangir has broken her silence, calling the allegations a lie.
