Taylor Swift endorses Kamala, internet reminds her of silence on Gaza genocide

Taylor Swift on Wednesday repeated her call for fans to register to vote in the US presidential election as she accepted MTV’s top Video Music Award.

Swift won the Video of the Year for “Fortnight,” which also featured Post Malone, and thanked her loyal Swifties for bestowing her with the fan-chosen award, which she took home for the third straight year.

“To the fans, I’m always trying to figure out a way to say thank you to you for making my life what it is,” Swift, who directed the video, said onstage.

“If you are over 18 please register to vote for something else that is very important,” she added.

The 34-year-old international megastar’s call follows her endorsement of Kamala Harris in the minutes after the previous evening’s presidential debate between the Democratic hopeful and Republican Donald Trump.

“I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them,” Swift said in a lengthy Instagram post in throwing her support behind the Democratic nominee.

    Criticism by the Internet

However, netizens lambasted her for not criticizing Israel for the past year despite her activism against oppression all around the world and especially against government policies. Some reminded her of supporting a candidate who is pro-genocide, implying Kamala’s pro-Israel stance.

‘ADHD is not something to be ashamed of,’ Mathira encourages seeking help for mental health

Television host Mathira recently appeared as a guest on the Good Morning Show, where she shared her experience of having Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), a neurodevelopmental disorder.

She believes that parents of children suffering from mental health issues often overlook their concerns and pressure them to focus on their studies, which can result in the development of negative tendencies.

“I was diagnosed with the condition when I was an adult. My doctor prescribed medication, which I took for a while, but then I began to feel dependent on them. That’s when I learned more about ADHD and decided to stop the meds,” she said.

Mathira pointed out that ADHD is neither a rare nor a severe illness, and those suffering from mental health issues should not feel ashamed to seek medical help, as it can be managed with proper care.

“We always focus on the negative aspects of these conditions, but there are positives too. People like us tend to forget things quickly, so it takes us less time to recover from any trauma. We can do things so quickly that it surprises those around us,” Mathira said.

She also advised parents of children with ADHD not to pressure them. Instead of scolding, parents should try to understand their children and channel their energy in positive directions.

She added, “Such children are highly intelligent and talented,”

‘Too many comparisons, too many expectations’: Maya Khan on rising divorce rates in Pakistan

Actress and television host Maya Khan, known for her candid opinions, recently appeared as a guest on the 365 Podcast hosted by Adnan Faisal.

During the interview, the host asked, “Divorce rates are increasing rapidly. In your opinion, what are the reasons behind this? What does your experience say? Why is it increasing so much?”

Maya Khan replied, “Too many comparisons and too many expectations from both sides. You can’t expect somebody to be nice to you unless you are nice. And this doesn’t just happen in marriages, it happens everywhere, even in the workplace. Women feel comfortable where they are respected. Money will come as destined, but respect and care are essential. A woman needs kindness. A man can bear it, but a woman cannot to the same extent. Maybe she can bear the burden of bringing money home, but she is dying inside. And the man is dying inside too, when he doesn’t get the promotion he deserves while someone else, a woman, gets it for some other reason. And with all due respect to everybody, our women suffer a lot because they are not ready to compromise where they should.”

Currently, Maya Khan is starring in Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, which is written by Farhat Ishtiaq and directed by Badar Mehmood.

Which role did Hiba Ali turn down in ‘Ishq Zahe Naseeb’

Actress Hiba Ali, who is currently starring in the drama Jaan Nisar, revealed that she once turned down a role in the drama Ishq Zahe Naseeb.

Recently the Dil Diya Dehleez actress appeared as a guest on Gup Shup, hosted by Vasay Chaudhary. During the show a fan from the audience asked, “Is there any drama that you rejected at first and later regretted because it became a hit?”

Hiba Ali replied, “Oh yes, there was a drama, after I rejected it, Yumna played the role. It was on Hum TV, and it was the character of Zahid’s mother who later becomes a lady. It was ‘Ishq Zahe Naseeb’, I think. Before my gap from Hum TV, they had offered me the role and I thought it was a side character since Sonia was already leading, and the mother’s role was in flashbacks, so I didn’t do it. Then Yumna took that role, and after that, she became who she is today, Mashallah, it was in her fate. So, that role slipped through my hands. That was about four or five years ago.”
