    ‘People were standing outside just to welcome me’; Aamir Khan on Punjab’s hospitality during Dangal shoot

    Bollywood’s perfectionist Aamir Khan is grateful for the hospitality of the people of Indian Punjab while he was shooting ‘Dangal’ in 2016. Aamir Khan attended the Great Indian Couple Show where he said that during his stay in a Punjab village, he was touched by the locals’ simple yet profound gestures of respect.

    Aamir Khan said, “When I went to Punjab for the shooting of ‘Rang De Basanti,’ I was overwhelmed by the immense love and warmth received from the locals.”

    The Bollywood actor said that during the shooting of ‘Dangal,’ they were in a small village in Punjab. “I observed that in the mornings, people would stand outside their homes and greet the team with folded hands, while in the evenings, they would bid farewell with kind words.”

    He said, “The people there never bothered me nor did they stand in front of my car, they just greeted from a distance, and this had a great impact on me.”

    Aamir khan said, “I belong to a Muslim family, so I was not folding hands and saying Namaste. I am used to raising my hand and bowing my head, the way Muslims greet each other.”

    “I’m a Pakistani actress, of course, I get abused on social media; my sleeveless dresses are the reason for natural disasters; I get acting projects on the basis of my social media following; I can only portray side characters after turning 30; and fair complexion is as important for me as filters for beauty influencers,” Sarhadi said in the video, shared with the caption “Ruffling feathers? No, it’s just my experience/opinion that’s all!!!”

    The video has become popular, with thousands of Zhalay Sarhadi’s followers watching it and giving her lots of likes. But people had different opinions about it.     Renowned Indian film director, producer and screenwriter was worried about the reaction from the first wife of Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila at the film screening of the biopic made on the musician’s life. According to a source that talked to Indian media outlet Zoom, Imtiaz Ali was concerned over the film’s reception among the singer’s close relatives, especially his first wife.

    Imtiaz Ali said, “Chamkila’s family attended the screening. His first wife, Gurmail Kaur, and Amarjot, along with Chamkila’s son Jaiman Chamkila and daughters were all present. As I watched the film, Chamkila’s first wife sat beside me. I wondered about the sensitive scenes in the movie and if I should retreat before she felt uncomfortable or reacted in any way.”


    The director expressed happiness with how Chamkila was portrayed, as they hoped the audience would like it.
    He said, “I could have judged him for many things he did, but I chose to leave it as it is in the film. It’s actually a credit to the family that they understood.”
    The film’s cast features Diljit Dosanjh as Amar Singh Chamkila and Parineeti Chopra as his wife Amarjot, based on the real-life story of Chamkila and his wife, a singer known for lewd lyrics who was assassinated at a traditional Akhara (event) in 1988 in Punjab. They were shot, along with two other members of their group, as soon as they got out of the car they used to reach the venue.

    The killers remain unknown to this day.

    During an appearance on Geo TV’s show ‘Hansna Mana Hai,’ she was asked by host Tabish Hashmi if she had ever encountered supernatural entities like jinns during shootings in Skardu and Gilgit-Baltistan.

    “There are jinns in my house because I often hear voices calling my name from the kitchen, but when I look back, there’s no one there,” Mah E Nur replied.

    She recounted an incident involving her mom. “My mother also used to hear similar voices. Many years ago, one morning, my father went out for a walk after offering Fajr prayers. When my mother woke up for Fajr prayers, she saw my father in the room.”

    Mah E Nur Haider said, “When my father returned home, my mother asked him how he came back from outside so suddenly. My father replied that he had left for the walk before my mother woke up.”

    She further described that since then, they have experienced strange activities in their house, but now they have become accustomed to all these things.

    Recently, a deep fake video of Aroob Jatoi surfaced online, which caused a viral scandal. The video quickly spread across social media platforms, prompting Ducky Bhai to respond. Ducky Bhai uploaded a censored version of the video, where Aroob’s face can be seen and the rest of the seemingly explicit video is blurred. Ducky provided an explanation on how the deep fake video was produced, and Aroob also gave her stance on the video, saying, “I stepped in front of the camera to address this issue because I want other girls to be aware and cautious about such cybercrimes.”

    Ducky Bhai and his wife also discussed threats they received and how they are willing to reward the person who will help find the creator of the deepfake video. “I’m offering a reward of ten lakh rupees for anyone who helps me find the person responsible for creating my wife’s deep fake video,” Ducky announced.
