Hania Aamir is currently a hot favourite because of her stellar performance as Maheer in ‘Mujhe Pyaar Hua Tha’. It hasn’t always been smooth sailing for the actress, who has spoken up about her personal struggles on screen.
As a guest on the show ‘The Fourth Umpire’, Aamir was asked about education. The actress revealed that she was a college drop out:
“I was a good student..I left because I started acting.”
The actor explained that she had started making money from her career, and had to support her family:
“I need money and I needed to manage my house since I was the breadwinner of my family. Luckily, acting came along and I was good at it.”
There was a wholesome moment at the Oscars when Harrison Ford stepped up to announce the Best Picture award, and the winner was ‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’. A viral clip of the moment shows Ke Huy Quan and Ford hugging each other on the stage as the team walked up to receive their award.
It is perhaps not well known that this pivotal moment between Quan and Ford is much more significant than it seems because the two actors had worked together in ‘Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom’, Quan’s debut Hollywood project.
Quan had starred as the popular archaeologist’s tiny side kick, Short Round, who helped him find an ancient stone in India which had been stolen by an evil priest. Speaking about his experience in ‘Temple of Doom’, Quan regarded it as one of the happiest moments of his life because he had been able to travel to Sri Lanka.
After the success of the film, Quan went on to act in television series like ‘Together We Stand’, but chose to leave Hollywood as he wasn’t getting any roles that weren’t racist or stereotyped.
It was only after the success of ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ that Quan decided to venture back in to acting. Hiring a friend as an agent, he came across the script for ‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’ and recalled to the Telegraph that he laughed a lot while reading the script: “I laughed so hard and I cried so hard and I told my wife, ‘I think this role was written for me.’”

In an interview with Aamna Haider Isani, Gill revealed that she did receive offers to act in dramas and play the role of asinger, but she rejected it.
“If the script would have been nice then I would have been ok..” she admitted.
Later on in the interview, Gill agreed that a lot of Pakistani singers have decided to perform as actors, but she will only do so if she finds a good script:
“My generation doesn’t really watch dramas all that much. We do, but very few. I’ve seen Udaari, I’ve seen Humsafar, a little bit of Bhaagi…they were outstanding..But if a good script comes along, then I could try.”
After watching the Academy Awards last night, twitter users are furious at host Jimmy Kimmel after he had an awkward interaction with Nobel Prize winner and education activist Malala Yousafzai.
First calling her ‘Malalaland’ at the ceremony, Kimmel then asked her opinion on whether Harry Styles spat on Chris Pine at the premier of All My Darlings.

Twitter users called Kimmel ‘racist’ for using the word ‘Malalaland’ and called him a horrible host. He was also branded insensitive for undermining the work of brown women by also having previously tried to tamper with Quinta Brunson’s speech while she was was receiving the award for ‘Best Writing in Comedy’ at the Oscars.
Hollywood’s biggest night of the year was dominated by Asians, with some of the biggest global celebrities like Deepika Padukone, activist Malala Yousafzai, and Michelle Yeoh lending their star power to the Oscars.
Jimmy Kimmel hosted the show and of course, addressed the Will Smith-Chris Rock slapping controversy from last year’s ceremony. Kimmel started his monologue by saying, “If anyone in this theater commits an act of violence, you will be awarded for Best Actor and permitted a 19-minute speech.”

Yeoh’s speech moved social media users to tears for encouraging women to never think they are past their prime for achieving their dreams:
“For all the little boys and girls who look like me watching tonight, this is a beacon of hope and possibilities. This is proof that dreams do come true. Ladies don’t let anyone tell you that you’re past your prime.”

Quan and Yeoh made history as the first time two Asian-American actors had won one of the big four awards at the Academy Awards in the same year. In his speech, he said, “My mom is 84 years old, she’s at home watching. Mom- I just won an Oscar! My journey started on a boat. I ended up in a refugee camp…They say stories like this only happen in the movies. I cannot believe this is happening to me. This is the American dream!”

A video for the promotion of Maria B’s upcoming fashion brand is going viral because Mona Hussain, another vocal anti-trans rights person, was seen quoting Lady Gaga’s famous song ‘Born This Way’ in it.
“Women empowerment is when a woman is allowed to reach her full potential in whatever way that may be. What it certainely means is that we do not need men to tell us who we are, or define our roles… In the words of the famous Lady Gaga, ‘Baby, you were literally born this way!”
Mona Hussain is a psychologist who has collaborated in the past with Maria B in transphobic videos.
What Maria B chooses to completely filter out here is that ‘Born This Way’ was written by Lady Gaga in support of the transgender community, and it features lyrics that encourages people to love themselves, regardless of being gay, straight or transgender:

Lady Gaga has also called out transphobes in interviews, for instance in an interview with Anderson Cooper, she was asked about the rumor that she is secretly a man to which she responded:

It has been 16 years since the iconic Bollywood rom-com ‘Jab We Met’ took over our screens and cemented itself as one of the best films to ever come out of India.
Kareena Kapoor who starred as the naive and bubbly Geet in the film, admitted in an interview with Mirchi that she was completely taken aback by the iconic status the film has been given, since at that time the actor was more focused on her film ‘Tashaan’:
“I was in this whole zone of getting to size zero, I am working in Tashan, with Akshay (Kumar), Anil (Kapoor) and Saif (Ali Khan).”
Kapoor also went on to reveal that she had been completely focused on training for her role in ‘Tashaan’, even while she was on the sets of ‘Jab We Met’:
“I got the main part and it was a Yash Raj film and I was doing action for the first time and whenever I came on the Jab We Met set it would be like ‘Please I need to train because I am going for action training.’ I never thought, the reverse situation actually happened. I had all my bets on Tashan.”
Shahid Kapoor, who played the introverted Aditya in ‘Jab We Met’ recently shared a clip of himself visiting fans at the cinema when the film had re-released once more.
Speaking to Pinkvilla, Kapoor admitted that ‘Jab We Met’ was the type of rare film that is made once ever two decades, and was looking forward to doing another romantic film with the director, Imtiaz Ali, again:
“We re-released Jab We Met recently and a lot of people are now asking me why ain’t I doing a film like this again. I feel, Jab We Met happens once in two decades and it’s not like an everyday film. Ranbir Kapoor is once more being criticized by fans for his insensitive comments about his wife, Alia Bhatt.
The ‘Tu Jhooti Mein Makkar’ actor was previously called a misogynist by the internet when he was seen body shaming Bhatt during a livestream, while Bhatt had been pregnant with their baby, Raha.
Kapoor is being criticized this time for a remark he made during an interview with ‘GOODTiMES. The ‘Brahmastra’ actor said he doesn’t want their baby Raha to have Alia’s personality, since the ‘Gangubai’ actor is very loud and ‘talks a lot’:
“I just hope she has my personality rather than hers because I can’t have two women like Alia in the house,” he said. “Alia has a very boisterous personality; she talks quite loud and is vivacious. Fawad Khan’s film ‘Money Back Guarantee’ is set to release on April 21, while the highly anticipated drama ‘Barzakh’ is set to have a world premiere on March 18 at the Series Mania Festival in France.
This will be the second time Khan and Saeed will share the screen after their popular drama ‘Zindagi Gulzaar Hai’.
Production company Zindagi shared the announcement on their social media pages where the caption read: “And here we go! Barzakh is to have its World Premiere at International Panorama Series Mania 2023 on 18th March 2023. Let’s spread the word, shall we?”
Director of this web series Asim Abbasi, who had previously partnered with Zindagi to produce the popular series ‘Churails’, spoke to Variety in Febuary about what ‘Bazarkh’ will be all about:
“What does it mean to be human? What does it mean to have a soul, and does it survive us? How does one find hope and joy in a perpetual state of limbo? These are the central concerns of ‘Barzakh’.”
Abbasi also revealed to Variety that the inspiration for the series came from the aftermath of his father’s passing:
“In the aftermath of my father’s passing, and witnessing my son grow into a young boy, I found myself consumed with nostalgia, and memories of times gone and loves lost. And I began to think about my fears – the end of consciousness, the end of imagination, the end of love. And from these fears, grew a story where love was indeed eternal. Where it survived us – making it the ultimate human legacy,”
Bollywood veteran actor Anupam Kher congratulated Deepika Padukone for being selected as one of the presenters at the upcoming Academy Awards, posting an old picture of her at his acting institute.
In the caption, he praised Padukone for her achievement and said that as a teacher, he was proud to witness her journey.
