Actress Nadia Jamil has been at the forefront of demanding better conditions for orphaned children, providing a prominent voice for children who are sold into begging or prostitution. Today, the actress used her Twitter platform to remind followers that on January 5, a protest would be held on Liberty Roundabout in Lahore at 11 am to raise awareness about child sexual abuse and neglect. Her post read:

The actress has consistently used her social media platform to educate her followers on the rights of children, especially spreading awareness on how important it is for parents to take mental assesment and therapy before choosing to have children.

Jamil also explained that her desire to spread awareness on child sexual abuse and encourage better policies towards protection of children was due to her own experience of facing sexual abuse as a child. She wrote that she hopes to be more responsible and take care of children around her.

Love is brewing between Bollywood actors Vijay Varma and Tamannaah Bhatia, as the duo was spotted indulging in PDA on their Goa vacation during the New Year’s evening. Videos of them ringing in the New Year with kisses are going viral on social media.
For the New Year’s Eve 2023 party, Tamannaah wore a pink dress, whereas Vijay donned a white shirt and pants. The duo clicked pictures with fans too. In viral videos, people were doing a countdown to midnight to celebrate the New Year wherein Vijay and Tamannaah gave each other a kiss.
The two of them have been seen together on several occasions. They attended last year’s Vogue India fashion event, were seen at Diljit Dosanjh’s concert in October, and event at the cinemas watching a film together.

Actor Yasir Hussain recently made an appearance on Hasna Mana Hai hosted by Tabish Hashmi. On being asked for clarification about his statement that senior actor Naumaan Ijaz should quit acting.
The Aik Thi Laila star clarified that once he was talking to Naumaan Ijaz about how hosts ask guests questions like who should leave acting and he just does not want to name anybody. To this, the Raqeeb Se star told Yasir that he can take his name whenever such a question pops up. Ijaz also assured him that he wouldn’t be offended and that is why Yasir took Naumaan Ijazâs name.
Last year when Hussain was featured in an episode of The Talk Talk Show, hosted by Hassan Choudary, he revealed that he doesn’t want to work with Ahsan Khan.
He said, âI suppose Ahsan Khan finds me dull. Please do ask him why he finds working with me boring.â He claims that I am uninteresting, despite the fact that I am fond of him.
In 2017, Ahsan called out Yasir for his joke about his role in Udaari, while recording an award show skit.
“I worked very hard in Udaari, I risked my career by playing the role of a child molester, just so the entire team of Udaari could spread awareness about it. So at the HUM awards, when Yasir Hussain made that remark I honestly felt bad, more so at the audience from the educated class that was laughing with him.”
He further added, “The character of Imtiaz is not a joke. Ehtesham worked so hard on this project and you cannot just associate the sensitivity of the topic with a joke. But as hurt as I was, one thing I would like to say is that Yasir called me to apologize and he has also issued a public apology.
However later the two bonded on Ahsan’s chat show.
Earlier this year, Yasir opened up about his spat with actress Hira Tareen on Wajahat Raufâs chat show. The Jhooti star was asked about actress Hira Tareen’s statement recently about him and his craft, Yasir said that he doesn’t even know her at all.
The Koel director stated that all he knows about her is that she is his friend’s spouse and even if she abuses him on the road, he’ll not react.

Actors Olivia Hussey and Leonard Whiting, who starred in the 1968 film Romeo and Juliet, have filed a suit against Paramount Pictures for child abuse and exploitation. Both Hussey and Whiting starred in the film when they were 15 and 16 years old respectively, winning Golden Globes for their performance.
According to the suit filed in Santa Monica last week, the actors said that a bedroom scene in the filmed with both actors in the nude while their breasts and buttocks were visible. They have said that this amounts to child exploitation. The suit followed with the revelation that the film’s director Franco Zeffireli, who died in 2019, had pressurized both actors into performing the scene, warning them that otherwise ‘the film would fail’. The director had promised both his leads that there would be no nude scenes and both actors would be covered by flesh-colored underwear.
âDefendants were dishonest and secretly filmed the nude or partially nude minor children without their knowledge, in violation of the state and federal laws regulating indecency and exploitation of minors for profit,â the suit has alleged.
The statement further revealed how both actors, who are now in their 70’s, suffered mental and emotional anguish in the five and a half decades since the film’s release, and did limited effort to progress their careers.
The actors representative, Solomon Gresen, spoke with AFP about how Paramount Pictures had participated in sexual exploitation of the children, since both actors were under 16 years old and their nude scenes were visible in the film.
â(Paramount) have images that they know are images of underage nudity that should be removed from the film. That would be the beginning for sure. Sexually explicit images of children are bad and they shouldnât be tolerated. If they were under 16, then theyâre under 16. Itâs a sexually explicit image of an underage person, it should be forbidden.â
The Legend of Maula Jatt headlined by Fawad Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi and Mahira Khan is by far the most expensive film to come out of Pakistan. It is unquestionably the biggest Pakistani release ever internationally.
The film opened to packed houses on October 13th and earned record-breaking figures on day one despite the fact that it is not currently playing in every theater in the country.
Bilal Lashari’s directorial has become the first film in Pakistan’s history to earn 100 crore domestically. This achievement was announced by the makers on social media handles.

Four-day Weekend Collections
In its extended weekend, the film collected over 50 crores globally.
According to a recent report in Deadline, this action-fantasy movie has broken box-office records within its opening weekend. So far, The Legend of Maula Jatt has collected over half a million dollars. Across 79 locations in the UK, the film has earned $355,000, making it trend at no. 9 on the charts. In the US and Canada, the film grossed $290,000 and $235,000 respectively. On the other hand, in Australia, it earned $160,000. In both Canada and Australia, the Pakistani movie is trending at No. 6 in the charts, while in the United Arab Emirates, it reached No. 1 after earning over $515,000.
The Legend of Maula Jatt has opened in 25 markets worldwide, including Norway, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, and South East Asia, and overall it has grossed $2.3 million globally.
First Week Collections
The Humaima Malick and Gohar Rasheed starrer has garnered 80 crores, globally in its first week of release.
These figures surpass the lifetime receipts of every Pakistani movie and have set new records. The Legend of Maula Jatt is poised to set additional records now that the second weekend has begun.
Second Weekend
Its second-weekend collections gave a new hope to the industry. The magnum-opus crossed the unprecedented 100 crore mark post its second-weekend collections. This made it the first-ever Pakistani feature film to achieve this target.

TLOMJ‘s winning streak continues as the magnum opus becomes Pakistan’s first offering to hit the PKR 200 crore mark, globally.

According to British film publication Screen Daily, Maula Jatt, released by Moviegoers Entertainment, accumulated ÂŁ44,149 (Rs11.5 million) on its fifth weekend. Its performance has dropped considerably lower than many competitors as its run continues at 54.6 percent, bringing the film to almost ÂŁ1.3m (Rs340 million). Thatâs more than the ÂŁ1.26m (Rs329 million) of this yearâs Tamil epic Ponniyan Selvan: I.
The Legend of Maula Jatt has become the highest-grossing Punjabi film globally according to its official Instagram account, the film made $7.8 million (Rs1.7 billion) at the worldwide box office within four weeks of its release.
The movieâs first teaser was released in 2019, which managed to receive a thunderous response worldwide for its cinematic grandeur, exceptional star cast, and mega-scale production.

Model Saheefa Jabbar Khattak was on the Geo show Hasna Mana Hai where she opened up about her life.
On how she met her husband:
Talking about how she met her husband, Khwaja Khizar Hussain, Khattak said that she had been helping her then-friend, Khizar, look for a bride by introducing him to her female friends. “He was my senior at BNU and he was single. He asked me to look for someone, since he wanted to get married. I was always a tomboy, not a girly girl, so he was never interested in me. Whatever rowdy discussions would be going on between boys, they would come and tell me,” she disclosed. Khattak further shared that she had found some gorgeous women who she felt were perfect for Khizar, but soon found out that they were taken. Then Saheefa and Khizer realized that they liked each other a lot. “We found something else instead,” she said of finding her soulmate.
When asked about her acting career, Saheefa said she hadn’t been involved in television projects since last year, because she’s disappointed by regressive content in the scripts. “It has been a year and a half since I acted, and I think I won’t go for it because the kind of scripts they offer I don’t like them. It’s all about the consistently wailing woman. In every drama she is turned into a mom, is consistently getting slapped and given divorce.”
Khattak talked about her first drama Teri Meri Kahani and said she was disappointed by how regressive the show was regarding the empowerment of women.
“My first drama was Teri Meri Kahani, in which I also had this type of character. I was this well-educated girl who was born and raised from the UK, and comes back here to get slapped, kicked out of the house. Basically for me its very weird because if a girl is very well-educated and independent, as well as a UK nationalâŚThe problem was a strong independent girl, who literally has properties in the UK, why is she getting slapped around by a man and also accepting false accusations? It was that kind of drama, and the sad bit was that the girl suffers a lot in the story but in the end she forgives the man and goes back to him. And when you ask the production house that why is this happening, they defend their decision by saying the audience needs a happy ending,” she revealed.
Dropping out of college
When an audience member asked Saheefa about her decision to drop out of university years ago, the model revealed that she regrets that decision even today.
“It’s been good eight years since I dropped out and left my education. Every time things don’t work out, they did for me but it usually doesn’t for everyone. Today, I do regret that I left my education because at a lot of places that piece of paper is very important. I didn’t think like this before, had you asked me two years ago I would have said ‘Yes, drop out‘. Now, I have seen this very clearly that a degree is important so I wouldn’t suggest anyone to drop out until and unless you have a very good, solid plan.”

Bhatt shared a family photo, featuring her along with her newborn and husband-actor Ranbir Kapoor. Though the trio was blurred in the image, Ranbir can be seen holding their little munchkin. The image focuses on a jersey, which reads âRahaâ in the capital.
Giving the context to her Insta fam, the new mom explained the meaning of Raha while revealing the name given by her mother-in-law, Neetu Kapoor. âThe name Raha (chosen by her wise and wonderful Dadi) has so many beautiful meanings,â wrote the Highway actress.
Elaborating further, Bhatt penned, âRaha, in its purest form means divine path in Swahili she is Joy, / In Sanskrit, Raha is a clan, / In Bangla – rest, comfort, relief, / in Arabic peace, / it also means happiness, freedom & bliss,â in the caption. Before signing off, she wrote, âAnd true to her name, from the first moment we held her – we felt it ALL!,â followed by a red-heart emoticon.

Strict Conditions:
According to Indian media, the couple has listed out a set of rules for family and friends to visit their baby. A strict ‘no picture’ rule will be applicable to anyone who pays a visit.
According to reports, the entire Kapoor and Bhat family are against exposing the baby to shutterbugs. In spite of repeated requests for respecting their private space, paparazzi chased the couple’s car while bringing their newborn home. Several videos and pictures of Alia and her baby girl are doing the rounds on the internet. However, as it turns out, all these pictures and videos are fake.
The Brahmastra duo will also not allow anyone to visit their baby without a covid negative certificate. As newborns are prone to infections, the couple is extremely cautious of the baby’s health.
