  • Ms. Marvel slammed in reviews for being ‘Pakistani, Muslim’

Ms. Marvel slammed in reviews for being ‘Pakistani, Muslim’

Ms. Marvel is the highest-rated MCU series on Rotten Tomatoes but the lowest-rated MCU series on IMDB. The difference in rating hints towards something else, reports Forbes. The reason why there is a huge disparity in Ms. Marvel’s reviews on different platforms is that it is being ‘review-bombed’, as per Forbes.

    What is review-bombing?

A review-bomb is an Internet phenomenon in which large groups of people leave negative user reviews online in an attempt to harm the sales and/or popularity of a product. Ms. Marvel is being review-bombed as users are spamming the series with a lot of 1-star reviews as compared to more than any other MCU series.

As per the news outlet, apparently the show is getting negative reviews because it stars a Pakistani Muslim Girl. However, the other reasons could be that it is aimed at younger audience or the show has changed Ms Marvel’s powers from the comics.

“Ms. Marvel is undisputably being review-bombed, namely because of the core identity of the character including her race and religion. It’s not surprising, but it still sucks.,” Paul Tasii writes.

Ms. Marvel is currently streaming on Disney+ on. Marvel’s first Pakistani Muslim woman superhero is being played by Iman Vellani.

  • Britney Spears’ ex-husband arrested for breaking into her wedding with Sam Asghari

Britney Spears’ ex-husband arrested for breaking into her wedding with Sam Asghari

Pop singer Britney Spears’ wedding was interrupted Thursday when her ex-husband gatecrashed the party, US media reported. Spears and her partner Sam Asghari were readying to wed at her luxury pad near Los Angeles when the proceedings were interrupted.

Drama At Britney Spears' Secret Wedding To Sam Aghari: Ex-Husband Crashes It, Police Called

Jason Alexander, a childhood friend to whom the 40-year-old singer was very briefly married in 2004, crashed the sun-soaked event, sparking a police response.

Alexander apparently livestreamed his invasion on Instagram, with footage showing him telling a security guard he had been invited.

“Where’s Britney?” he can be heard saying.

Later as he walks into a pink tent festooned with flowers, he identifies himself and says: “So here’s the inside scoop, guys, on the bullshit wedding.”

Entertainment website TMZ said a physical confrontation ensued and the police were called. Ventura County Sheriff’s Office said officers were called to investigate reports of someone trespassing and found that Alexander had an outstanding warrant against him from another jurisdiction, so they arrested him, Variety reported.

AFP was not immediately able to confirm the report. Spears’ wedding to Asghari was not widely trailed, with news of the nuptials appearing on specialist publications only hours earlier.

The couple said last month that the surprise pregnancy they had announced only weeks before had ended in a miscarriage.

That news came five months after a Los Angeles judge dissolved a conservatorship long overseen by Spears’s father, an arrangement the singer said had prevented her from having a contraceptive IUD removed despite her desire for more children. She is already mother to two teen sons, Sean and Jayden, with her ex-husband Kevin Federline.

Asghari and Spears met in 2016 when they co-starred in a music video for her single “Slumber Party.” After announcing their engagement late last year, Spears has since started referring to her 28-year-old partner as her “husband.”

‘Take a plane for Tiktok videos’, Kangana Ranaut thinks Qatar Airways spoof video is ‘real’

Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut seems to have fallen for a spoof, again.

    Spoof video

After Qatar rebuked India for the derogatory remarks against Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) made by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokespersons Nupur Sharma and Naveen Kumar Jindal, #BycottQatarAirways started trending on Indian Twitter.

An Indian Twitter user ‘Vashudev’ posted a video calling for the boycott of Qatar Airways.

Later, a spoof video with Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker replying to Vashudev’s boycott call in an interview with Al Jazeera went viral.

“Vashudev is our biggest shareholder with a total investment of ₹634.50 rupees. We don’t know how to operate anymore. We have grounded all the flights … we are requesting Vashudev to take this call for boycott back. This is a special kind of boycott because it is b-y-c-o-t-t. Vashudev habibi, we are willing to give you one whole plane to make your TikTok videos or maybe we can give you two litres of petrol free. Please consider our offer and take the boycott back,” Qatar Airways CEO’s voiceover says in the spoof video.

Kangana shares spoof video on Instagram

After the spoof video went viral, Kangana Ranauat shared it on her Instagram stories, thinking the video is ‘real’.

“This idiot of a man has no shame bullying a poor man mocking his insignificance and place in the world…Vasudev may be poor and insignificant for a rich man like you but he has the right to express his grief, pain and disappointment in whatever context it may be… remember there is a world beyond this world where we all are equal,” wrote Kangana in one of her Insta stories.

She continued: “All so called Indians who are cheering this bully for making fun of a poor man remember this is exactly why you all are a big bojh [burden] on this over populated country.”

Kangana later deleted her Instagram stories after journalist and fact-checker Mohammed Zubair informed her that it was a voiceover video made by an Indian.

Kangana shares fake Shehbaz Sharif screenshot

This is not the first time that Kangana has fallen for fake news.

In May, Kangana shared a screenshot on her Instagram stories that featured Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s praise for her craft and performance in Dhaakad.

However, the screenshot featured an imposter account of PM Shehbaz and not the real one.

Salman Khan cries while revealing favours done by Boney Kapoor and Suniel Shetty

Salman Khan and Boney Kapoor’s friendly relationship strained when Boney’s son Arjun Kapoor started dating Arbaaz Khan’s ex-wife Malaika Arora. This is also why Khan produced Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai without the senior Kapoor’s involvement, who had produced Wanted.

Now, at the IIFA awards ceremony in Abu Dhabi, Salman expressed his gratefulness towards the veteran producer. The Tiger 3 star said, “Boney ji has helped me throughout my life. When my career hit a rough patch, Boney Kapoor gave me a film called Wanted. After that, he gave another film No Entry.

Salman also thanked senior actor Suniel Shetty, “When I didn’t have any money, actor Suniel Shetty had a shop called Mischief and I was eyeing a pair of stone wash jeans, boots, and a purse. I knew I couldn’t afford it because I didn’t have money. But Anna saw my eyes and decided to gift me what I yearned.” He even got teary eyed as he reached out towards the Hera Pheri hero’s son, Ahan Shetty.

Khan called producer Ramesh Taurani ‘God-like’ and revealed that he had helped him after Maine Pyaar Kiya, when he did not have work for about six months. He revealed, “I didn’t have any film for 6 months. Then a god-like man came in my life – Ramesh Taurani. At that time my father had made a fake announcement from JP Sippy by paying 2000 rupees in a film magazine. I didn’t have any film. Ramesh Taurani went to Sippy’s office and he gave him 5 lakh rupees for music at that time and that’s how I got the film Pathar Ke Phool.”
