    Humayun, Ahmad and others call-out Nauman Niaz, support Shoaib Akhtar

    Celebrities including Humayun Saeed, Ahmad Ali Butt and Ali Zafar have voiced their support for the legendary former speedster Shoaib Akhtar after he was insulted on a PTV show with anchor Dr Nauman Niaz Tuesday night.

    Akhtar resigned on-air and walked off the show later.

    Many came to Akhtar’s defence after the incident:

    The Punjab Nahi Jaoungi star said: “Arguments happen during TV shows but no host tells their guest to leave. That was no way to address any guest, let alone one of the biggest international stars Pakistan has ever produced. What happened, happened; Dr Noman should have at the very least apologised to @shoaib100mph.”

    While Ahmad Ali Butt called out Nauman for not handling the situation well as a host and he also added that “no matter what the excuse is, you can not insult them (the guests).”

    The Jawani Phir Nahi Aani actor also urged Nauman to apologise from Shoaib Akhtar.

    Not only him, but the netizens are also very angry at Nauman for insulting the legend and demand his apology from the former.

    Singer turned politician Abrar Ul Haq has released his new song ‘Begum Shak Karti Ha’, which features actor Saba Qamar. The song has been receiving criticism over his song with people calling it the copy of rhyme ‘Baby Baby Shark’, which the singer earlier criticised. Netizens have also slammed the lyrics of the song for being sexist and regressive.

    The Billo crooner has dedicated the song to the people, “who are too much married!”

    Earlier the Pyaray Afzal star revealed that when the director and writer of Laapata, Khizer Idrees approached her for the play, he gave her an open choice to select either of the two parallel female lead characters from the drama. When she read the script she only wanted to do Geeti and didn’t even consider the other role.

    On the work front, Ali will be seen next in feature film Parde Mein Rehne Do opposite Hania Amir and drama Bebasi co-starring Alizeh Shah.

    In the latest episode of the show, the police are searching for Parizaad (Ahmed Ali Akbar) and they finally capture him from Behroze Karim’s house.

    Parizaad in the middle of the night, risks his life to go and meet Bubbly’s (Saboor Aly) parents. Bubbly is his friend who wants to be treated like a man and has run away from home. He luckily dodges the police and goes to Bubbly’s parent’s house to convince them to accept Bubbly who is now Dilawar. The scene where both the parents come to meet Bubbly and end up accepting Bubbly as Dilawar is quite emotional. Some Netizens who relate themselves to the character, praised the drama for showing it so sensitively.

    The drama is based on Hashim Nadeem’s novel of the same name and follows the story of a neglected man with low self-esteem who sets out to prove himself.

    Actor Affan Waheed appeared on Ahsan Khan’s chat show along with his Pardes co-star Dur-e-Fishan Saleem. The duo indulged in a candid conversations over their personal and professional lives.

    The Do Bol star revealed that Dur-e-Fishan was proposed by a white classmate in America when she was doing her bachelors.     The host asked he duo about Affan refusing to share the screen space with Dur-e-Fishan in Pardes, on which the Dastaan actor stated that yes he did refused to work with her initially as when he signed the project, an established actress was doing her role who later opted out and the director Marina Khan roped in Dur-e-Fishan for the character and he was just not ready to do the same script with a newcomer which he had envisioned with an established star, also he wasn’t sure of her Urdu language skills.

    Even Dur-e-Fishan said that it’s not because he doesn’t want to work with newcomers, its just that he was offered the play opposite a different co-star but after 3-4 days of shoot he expressed his happiness on working with her.

    Affan recalled saying, “On set during a scene Dure said, ‘Acha, tum najoom ho? [Are you a horoscope?]’ When the original dialogue was a romantic and intense ‘Acha, tum ilm-e-nujoom bhi ata hai? [Oh, you know astrology as well?]’”
