Halloween means that everyone gets a chance to share their encounters with the supernatural.
Yasir Hussain, while speaking to a local media publication, revealed that he once lived with a ghost.
“I used to live in a two-bedroom apartment,” shared the actor. “While I lived in one of the rooms, a supernatural old man used to live in the other.”
He continued: “I don’t know what he was but he never disturbed me. In the morning, he would come into the lounge and say his Fajr prayers and when my friends would come over, he would go into the kitchen and start moving the utensils. I would call out to him not to make noise because my friends were over and he would stop.”
“I never got scared but my friends did,” said the actor.
Sharing another spooky incident, Yasir said that when he was shooting for horror drama Dareecha in a house in Karachi’s PECHS area, strange things would keep happening there.
“Shoots would get stalled and things would move around themselves,” shared the actor. “One day, the woman from whom the house had been rented came around and said to one of the crew to take care of her son. He asked her where her son was and she said that he lived in the home.”
“We later found out that someone had committed suicide in the home after which the woman had moved away and rented it out,” added the actor.
Yasir, however, said that such things don’t bother him and he doesn’t get scared by them.
For the first time since World War II, people in all parts of the world will be able to see the October 31’s blue hunter’s moon.
Halloween may look different this year due to COVID-19 restrictions, but we have a cool spooky spectacle to look forward to. October has not one, but two full moons — and because it’s 2020, the second one naturally falls on Halloween which is tonight. That gives this year 13 full moons instead of the usual 12.
The blue moon seems rare; a full moon on Halloween across time zones is even rarer, an event that hasn’t occurred since 1944. There was a full moon on Halloween in 2001, but it was only visible in the Central and Pacific Time zones, according to the Farmer’s Almanac.
However, the expected full Halloween moon again is to be seen in 2039, 2058, 2077 and 2096.
October’s first full moon was the harvest moon on October 1, and the second is a rare full Halloween blue hunter’s moon.
Harvest moon 2020
The full moon that will be visible tonight is called the blue moon because it’s the second full moon of the same month. It’ll be a rare treat as the 2020 Halloween full moon will be visible to the entire world, rather than just parts of it.
While the moon won’t actually look blue, the second full moon in one month is usually referred to as a blue moon. This happens every 2.5 to three years, or “once in a blue moon.”
Typically, the next moon after the harvest moon is known as the hunter’s moon – when hunters used moonlight to hunt prey and prepare for winter.
Each month of 2020 has brought its own surprises which have been comparable to many spooky memories and myths. When I got to know about the full moon on Halloween, the first thing that came into my mind was that if any spooky event will happen tonight.
Back in my childhood, I used to watch a drama on PTV named Haqeeqat in which there was a little girl Muqaddas, who was possessed. She would occasionally turn into a monster and Halloween’s full moon reminded me of that.
Twitter users also speculate that this Halloween, it is possible that the world will witness an unexpected event or someone will turn into a werewolf or a zombie or an apocalypse will take place tonight.
Expect the unexpected today! Happy Halloween! The Taurus Full moon conjoins and sun oppo Uranus & Mercury square Saturn bringing restricted communications, arguments and agitation. Don’t be fueled by the resistance, give yourself and everyone else a break. Be safe! Have fun💜👻
Halloween coincides with a full moon today. That won’t happen again till 2039. It’s also a ‘Blue Moon’ ie the second full moon in one month. That only happens once in 2.5 years. Don’t tell me this is not the perfect storm for werewolves. pic.twitter.com/GRpdHbu1RQ
Movie legend Sean Connery, who shot to international stardom as the suave British agent James Bond has passed away at the age of 90.
According to BBC News, Sean died overnight in his sleep, while in the Bahamas. His son said that he had been “unwell for some time”.
The Oscar-winning actor, who was best known for his portrayal of 007 in the popular movie franchise, was the first star to play the iconic role on the big screen and went on to appear in seven films. He was largely regarded as being the best actor to have played 007 in the long-running franchise, often being named as such in polls.
Sharing the news on social media, Fawad said: “A legend has departed…Rest in Peace Sean Connery”.
This is so heartbreaking… Sir Sean Connery, one of my childhood favourite actors has passed away. He was an amazing actor & amongst his many iconic roles, he was indeed, the best James Bond EVER!! May his soul rest in peace…🙏#SeanConnerypic.twitter.com/YPbRJnqqCV
Connery was raised in near poverty in the slums of Edinburgh and worked as a coffin polisher, milkman and lifeguard before his bodybuilding hobby helped launch an acting career that made him one of the world’s biggest stars.
Tall and handsome, with a throaty voice to match a sometimes crusty personality, Connery played a series of noteworthy roles besides Bond and won an Academy Award for his portrayal of a tough Chicago cop in The Untouchables (1987).
He was 59 when People magazine declared him the “sexiest man alive” in 1989.
Connery was an ardent supporter of Scotland’s independence and had the words “Scotland Forever” tattooed on his arm while serving in the Royal Navy.
When he was knighted at the age of 69 by Britain’s Queen Elizabeth in 2000 at Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh, he wore full Scottish dress including the green-and-black plaid kilt of his mother’s MacLeod clan.
The actor celebrated his 90th birthday in August this year.
Some of his other noteworthy works include The Hunt for Red October, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, The Untouchables and The Rock.

Netflix Inc has raised monthly charges in the United States for its standard and premium subscription plans.
As per details, Netflix increased the cost of its standard subscription by $1 a month to $14, and the price for the premium tier rose by $2 per month to $18. The standard plan, the company’s most popular, enables two streams at the same time, while the premium plan allows for four simultaneous streams. Its basic plan, which allows only one stream at a time, remains unchanged at $9 a month.
The price increase was the first for US customers since January 2019.
The move had been widely expected after Netflix raised its prices in Canada earlier this month and then ended free 30-day trials in the US.
The new prices will take effect starting immediately for new members while current members will be notified that their subscription is going up as it rolls out over the next few months.
“We understand people have more entertainment choices than ever and we’re committed to delivering an even better experience for our members,” a Netflix spokesperson said in a statement. “We’re updating our prices so that we can continue to offer more variety of TV shows and films.”
The spokesperson added that Netflix offers “a range of plans so that people can pick a price that works best for their budget.”
Netflix, the world’s dominant streaming service, enjoyed a boom in subscriptions at the beginning of the year as viewers around the world were told to stay at home to help fight the coronavirus pandemic. The company expects to end 2020 with more than 200 million streaming subscribers around the world, with 73 million of those from the United States and Canada. It is pertinent to add here that after Netflix raised its US prices last year, the streaming service suffered a decline of 130,000 subscribers in the US and Canada from the end of March to the end of June.
At the same time, it also is facing a growing list of competitors including Walt Disney Co’s Disney+, HBO Max from AT&T Inc and Apple Inc’s Apple TV+.
The question which comes to mind with this news is whether Pakistani audiences will be affected by this price rise. However, for now, prices for South Asian and Pakistani viewers remain unchanged and they will be unaffected by this price hike.
You can subscribe to Netflix for Rs 950 – Rs 1,500 a month in Pakistan, depending on your plan.
To celebrate Eid Miladun Nabi, Imran Abbas visited an old age home in Karachi and spent time with the elderly there.

The actor also went live on Instagram from the old-age home and shared his experience.

He continued: “I am surprised to see this old age home, it does not look like an old home because I don’t see them as old people, they look like young people because of the happiness on their faces and I am very happy to meet them as they have been so well-taken care off.”
“They have been given internet facilities, health facilities, personalized rooms and every facility that we have at our homes is been given to them,” shared the actor lauding the NGO’s facilities.
He further said, “I came here with hope, with happiness and sadness at the same time, I feel sad for those unfortunate people who don’t look after their parents. This is so painful thing to know but I am happy because when your own people leave you, we have people in our society who take care of you even more than your family. These people are a blessing of our society.”
Concluding the live session he said, “I request you all to value your elders, they are a blessing. You will ruin your Akhira and your lives in this world. You all should worry about the time when your children will dump you like this.”
He finished the video with the promise to visit this Old Home again and to participate in every project of JDC in Karachi, Lahore and other cities as well.
American singer Cher, who has long campaigned for Kaavan’s freedom has said she cannot wait to sing for Islamabad Zoo’s lone elephant, who caught international attention in recent years for his mistreatment. Kaavan is all set to leave for a wildlife reserve in Cambodia, where he will spend the rest of his life.
Sharing pictures of Kaavan’s travel crate on Twitter, Cher said: “Can’t wait to sing to him on way to Cambodia. I have two songs.”
AHHH KAAVAN’S TRAVELING CRATE & HOME WHEN HE GETS TO CAMBODIA. ITS LIKE A DOG CRATE. A VERY HUGE DOG CRATE. IN BEGINNING IT WILL MAKE HIM FEEL-SAFE & COMFORTABLE . CANT WAIT TO SING TO HIM ON WAY TO CAMBODIA.I HAVE TWO SONGS pic.twitter.com/SwQCO55veo
Kaavan is reportedly very fond of music and his vet Amir Khalil has revealed that the elephant is a Frank Sinatra fan and that the singer’s music calms him down. Khalil, who was tasked with assessing whether Kaavan can be moved from Islamabad Zoo to a sanctuary in Cambodia, shared that when he arrived in Pakistan, he started to train the elephant by singing to him.
In a separate tweet replying to a fan, she said “I’ll be there,” hinting that she would be in Cambodia when Kaavan arrived there.
36-year-old Kaavan is being relocated to a wildlife sanctuary in Cambodia for retirement after the Islamabad High Court in May this year ruled that the Margazhar Zoo is not fit for the animals. Kaavan has spent most of his life in a small enclosure with meager shelter, and the last eight years alone after his companion elephant died. The court’s decision came after a four-year global campaign, backed by Cher.
Earlier, Adviser to Prime Minister Imran Khan on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam had said authorities would “ensure that he lives a happy life”.
“We are bidding Kaavan farewell with a heavy heart. It is a sad decision,” he had said, adding that Prime Minister Imran Khan was also concerned about Kaavan’s well-being.
