    Shamoon Abbasi, Sanam Saeed face gross mismanagement as they arrive in Pakistan

    Sanam Saeed, Shamoon Abbasi and the rest of the cast and crew of Ishrat Made in China stranded in Thailand for the past two weeks have finally made it back to Pakistan. They arrived via a special flight arranged by the Government of Pakistan to repatriate those stuck in Thailand and Japan.

    Sanam and Shamoon, who upon their arrival in Islamabad were sent to a hotel to quarantine while they wait for their tests to be conducted have shared updates and highlighted mismanagement on part of the authorities.

    After sharing the updates, Sanam said the information being communicated to them was inaccurate and that people need to be “mentally, physically and financially prepared” for everything.

    She also shared that they are still in Islamabad and have not gone to Karachi as yet.

    Sanam also thanked the Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad for being cooperative.

    In the end, Sanam shared a message for all her followers.

    Shamoon Abbasi also had a similar story to share. He directly called out the hotel’s management for threatening them amid the crisis.

    ‘Ruswai’ ends on a high

    Sana Javed and Mikaal Zulfiqar’s hit drama Ruswai came to a close Tuesday night with an emotional entry by Mukhtaran Mai, the resilient Pakistani who was gang-raped in 2002 on the orders of a village council but became a symbol of hope for oppressed women across the country.

    Sana, who played a gang-rape victim in the drama and blew everyone with phenomenal performance, shared her thoughts on the drama and thanked her fans for their continuous support.

    Ruswai was the story of Sameera, a young doctor belonging to a well-off family, who was gang-raped by a group of men. The drama followed her journey, how the incident changed her life and of those around her. The drama was well-received by critics and audiences given how the makers had tackled the subject with sensitively. The plot and storyline were realistic and executed wonderfully which made it a captivating watch. All the actors gave solid performances and deserve a round of applause. Particularly noteworthy was Osama Tahir as Hamza and Adnan Jaffar as Dr Feroze – both the actors did complete justice to their roles.

    Highly recommended to all those who have not seen the drama.

    PEMRA bans studio audiences for Ramazan transmissions

    The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority has banned audiences present in the studios for sehr and iftar transmissions that go live throughout the month of Ramazan on television channels.

    A notification was issued by the authority on Tuesday that read the decision was taken to follow the rules of social distancing that medical experts across the world have called necessary to control the spread of coronavirus.

    The staff engaged in airing the shows have been directed to wear safety kits and regularly disinfect their equipment.

    Channels have been instructed to set up a walk-through sanitizing gate in their studios as well.

    If a show has more than one host then there should be a distance of one meter between them and only one guest can be invited at a time.

    The authority has prohibited displaying cars, bikes and other appliances on the show since many people are suffering from financial issues during the lockdown and showing of such products would be in bad taste.

    Meanwhile, PEMRA has also directed channels not to use language that is against any religion or belief and provokes hatred among people.
    In case of a violation, the transmission will be suspended immediately.

    “There is so much more to me than being a woman with cancer,” the actor wrote. “I’m an actor, teacher, mother, child protection worker, and a student.”

    “But after ones cancer diagnosis life shifts suddenly into pre-cancer and post-cancer eras,” she continued, adding, “I cannot stress enough how important it is to diagnose the cancer as early as possible. This is only possible if we have body awareness.”

    Nadia then went onto share her own story of how she discovered that she had breast cancer and how she made sure she was on top of everything. The actor discussed how the only truth in this world is death.

    As ‘La Casa De Papel [The House of Paper]’ aka ‘Money Heist’ fever continues to grip the world and Pakistan ever since Netflix dropped its fourth season, a Pakistani Facebook page has given characters of the hit Spanish series their own computerised national identity cards (CNICs).

    Shaikh Parwaiz Imtiyaz (The Professor), Raheela Shaukat (Lisbon aka Raquel), Nadia Akhtar (Nairobi), Bilal Abbasi (Berlin), Taniya Khattak (Tokyo), Raja Zeeshan Ali (Rio), Delawar Khan Masood (Denver), Haji Maqsood Khan (Moscow), Sardar Hari Singh (Helsinki) and Omer Daraz Orakzai (Oslo) are on the list of CNICs by Laari Adda, which is going viral over the internet.

    While the fan art by the Pakistani Facebook page is breaking the internet, it isn’t the only thing that connects the country to Money Heist.

    Ever since the third season of the show, Pakistan has been playing an important part in the successful execution of The Professor and his team’s heist at the Bank of Spain.

    An Islamabad-based team of 65 members, including hackers and surgeons, is helping the gang do wonders.

    “We can activate their microphones, cameras and GPS. It took less than an hour to take over the defense staff’s telecommunications. The work Rio used to do was now done by 65 Pakistanis. They are geniuses, thanks to them, we had access to everything,” Tokyo had said in season 3 about the team that has also played an important part in the latest series of episodes.

    Sadaf Kanwal seems to have ruffled some feathers once again. The model, who is rumoured to be in a relationship with Shahroze Sabzwari, recently raised eyebrows after she left a questionable comment on her rumoured beau’s photo.

    According to details, Sadaf had commented ‘Happy Birthday Mama’ under Shahroze’s post in which he was wishing his mother Safina Behroze on her birthday.

    Shahroze and Sadaf reportedly became friends late last year met while rehearsing for their performance at the third IPPA Awards held in Oslo, Norway. The two have maintained that they are just friends. Zara had also performed on the same awards.

    Taher Shah came, he saw and he conquered. And though his latest offering Farishta failed to impress fans who wanted more from the singer, the song managed to create a buzz and was trending on all social media platforms.

    While everyone kept referring to Farishta as the Urdu version of Shah’s previous song Angel, the singer has now stepped forward to explain the philosophy behind his latest masterpiece.

    “The philosophy of the song Farishta is that children are like angels,” wrote Shah. “Angels are sacred so we can righteously equate them with angels. These little individual are the essential component of our life.”

    The singer proceeded to explain the importance of children in our lives before writing, “The basic tale of the song video is, one cute child who as a king visits the fantasy world with his loyal friend unicorn who comes from the skies and take the child to beautiful fantasy world and where one butterfly meet with child which ultimately becomes fairy for the child and then like an ‘Farishta‘ both fall in love with each other for forever.”

    The singer added the kid’s personality resembles his own son and that he has dedicated this video to him and all children in the world.

    Mushk Kaleem calls out Iman Aly for her ‘condescending statement’ on current models

    Iman Aly’s unfiltered responses on Iffat Omar’s show continue to spark outrage.

    Model Mushk Kaleem, who late last year also walked the ramp at the Milan Fashion Week for Italian designer Stella Jean, recently called out Iman for her “condescending statement about the current models of our industry.”

    “According to her, the models who are working in our industry right now don’t have ‘adequate general knowledge’,” wrote the model.

    “I’m appalled that someone I’ve grown up admiring and revering would make such a statement,” she added.

    Iman’s casual remarks on the show had earlier also stirred controversy. The model turned actor had first claimed that Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees had first been offered to her. She further said: “90% of the movies made in Pakistan today are still offered to me first. But I only take the scripts I fall in love with. If I don’t like the lines, it feels like work, like slavery.”

    In another segment, Iman had remarked Humayun Saeed would be a “doodh dahi bechnay wala” (dairy product salesman) if he was not an actor. She also labelled Fawad Khan as a “failed standup comedian” and Mehwish Hayat a “cosmetologist’s assistant.” She also said that Mahira should have stayed a VJ.

    For those who don’t know Kaleem is a business graduate from the Institute of Business Academy. She worked at a corporate firm before joining the fashion industry as a model. Over the year, she has become a regular at all fashion shows across Pakistan, opening and stopping the show for many renowned designers. Kaleem has also modelled for Élan’s latest lawn collection.

    Meanwhile, Iman is gearing up for the release of Tich Button in which she will be sharing the screen with Feroze Khan, Farhan Saeed and Sonya Hussayn. The film was expected to hit screens on Eid-ul-Fitr but the coronavirus outbreak appears to have halted the release.
