Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan, who has often spoken up about living with a speech impediment, won Twitter after he offered words of support and encouragement to a Pakistani student humiliated for stuttering.
Twitter user Marium Zulfiqar, penned a long note on how a professor at a university in Islamabad had mocked and humiliated her cousin for stuttering during a class presentation. She added that her cousin has been traumatised by the incident and has not been able to come out of his room since then.
Marium’s tweet was widely circulated on social media and caught the attention of the Bollywood superstar who tweeted his support for the student and offered him words of encouragement.

According to Marium, the professor in question is the head of the Bachelor of Business Administration department in National University Of Modern Languages, Pakistan.
Following Roshan’s tweet, Marium has put her Twitter account on private though it’s not sure why she did that.
Pakistanis were taken aback after pictures of Bollywood actor and ex-BJP member Shatrughan Sinha attending a wedding in Lahore went viral on social media with people wondering if it was actually him or a lookalike. Though it was later confirmed that the actor was indeed in Pakistan, details about his visit were not known and people were very curious to find out, especially considering tense Indo-Pak relations.
As Sinha returned to India after spending two-three days in Pakistan, the ex-member of the Lok Sabha took to Twitter to share details of his visit. Sinha revealed that his visit was purely a personal one and he was here to attend a wedding on the invitation of a dear friend. Sinha also said that he had a lovely time meeting the President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi and his wife in Lahore, adding that he knew the family very well and had attending Dr Alvi’s son’s wedding a few years back in Karachi.

Sinha’s visit comes as a surprise, especially considering that last year, the All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) had banned and boycotted Mika Singh from the film industry after the singer performed at a wedding in Pakistan. Since then, Bollywood and Indian actors have refrained from interacting with Pakistani artists or people.
The relationship between the two neighbouring countries went from bad to worse after the Modi government scrapped Article 370 stripping Indian-occupied Kashmir of its special status. The valley has been under lockdown ever since.

It has been a long wait but the makers of The Legend of Maula Jatt have finally managed to sort out the film’s legal battles and clear the path for its release.
Reports had revealed that Sarwar Bhatti who had filed a case against the film for copyright infringement has withdrawn his case and has reached an agreement with the makers.
Speaking to a private news outlet Bhatti had said “Ammara [producer] and Bilal Lashari [director] are like my children. Someone misguided them but all kids tend to make mistakes and therefore I am willing to put everything behind me. I am doing this for their welfare, for the revival of cinema and to give the much-needed boost to Pakistan’s film industry. I will no longer be a hurdle in the release of The Legend of Maula Jatt.”
Bhatti had claimed that Maula Jatt was his property and had filed an application for a stay order to prevent the director from using the character, name and dialogues and asked the court to stop the film from being released.
Meanwhile, it is likely that it will be Fawad vs Fawad at the box-office this Eid ul Fitr because Fawad’s other project Money Back Guarantee is also scheduled to release on Eid-ul-Fitr along with Urwa Hocane and Farhan Saeed’s Tich Button.

Following the opening ceremony of the fifth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Pakistanis found a new person to hate on: Ahmed Godil. The Karachi-based VJ opened the opening ceremony of the PSL 5 and drew irk and widespread criticism from audiences for his performance on stage.
The backlash and trolling became so unbearable that the next morning, Godil made several TV appearances in which he appealed to the audiences to spare him, explaining that he wasn’t even the host of the show – Fakhre Alam was. He also requested the audience to leave his mother and sisters out of this.
In his latest post, Godil has announced that he is no longer part of the PSL or PCB. In a five-minute video, the host explained that PCB let him go following the trolling and his appearances on multiple media channels.
Godil also expressed his frustration with the PCB for their mismanagement and not supporting him amidst the trolling. He said that he gave the organisation his everything and in return, they fired him.
“I was just about to get in the car and leave for the stadium around 12 pm when I received a call from the PSL management to inform me that my services are no longer needed,” said a visibly emotional Godil in the video, adding that all he did was try to save the opening ceremony from failing without a script in hand or any preparation.
Earlier, while speaking a private news channel, Godil had remarked that the opening ceremony of PSL 2020 was a “very poorly managed show”.
“I was told to come to the stage for the pre-show as they [organisers] said the audience was bored since 4:30 pm,” he said, iterating that he was not the host of the event.
When Shoaib Akhtar, who was also on the show, commented that he didn’t understand the opening ceremony, Godil responded, “It was a very, very poorly managed show.”
Meanwhile, social media began to speculate that Godil was reportedly sacked for revealing that PCB has strictly banned Ali Zafar’s songs from being played in the stadium. Godil responded to the rumours.

Not her debut film Bol, nor her Bollywood film opposite Shah Rukh Khan Raees but Mahira Khan’s ‘most special’ film is Superstar.
The superstar in an Instagram post shared that Superstar “is and will always be the most special film of my life”.
Reason being: “Not only because it gave me so much, but also because it taught me lots. I lived it for years. It was enough for me to have just seen it getting made.”
In a separate post, Mahira thanked her fans, stylists, my makeup artists, hairstylists and designers for helping her win the Most Stylish Film Actress.
“If it was up to me I’d live in my white shalwar kameez,” she wrote.
The opening ceremony of the fifth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) failed to impress the audiences. Apart from the lukewarm performances, the one thing which the audiences hated was Ahmed Godil, the host of the ceremony. Following his act on stage, netizens took to social media to troll Godil. Memes on him were plenty and people left no stone unturned to bash him.
Following the immense backlash and hate, Ahmed while talking to a private news channel said,”Meri ghalti kya hai? I was doing my job. Meri maa behan ko to bakhsh do yaar. Main ne kya ghalti ki hai. (What is my mistake? I was just doing my job. At least leave my mother and sisters out of this).
Godil explained that all he did was try to warm up the crowd before the ceremony officially commenced.
“I was asked to go on stage to get the audience excited before the opening ceremony,” he said. “I was not even the host of the event. Fakhre Alam was always the host. I didn’t even know the broadcast had begun because I had the slot before the show itself.”
Godil further shared that he had not slept after the ceremony as people wouldn’t stop harassing him and his family. He added that his private number was leaked because of which he had to shut down his phone.
“Pichli do raton se main soya nahi hoon. Hum subah 5 bajay ghar aaty thay or phir 10 bajay hamain wapis report karna hota tha. Where did I go wrong? Kya main ne stage pe koi badtameezi ki? Kya main ne kisi ko gaali di? Ap log chahaty kya hain? (I haven’t slept since the past two nights. We had to report at 10 am every morning and would work till 5 in the morning. Where did I go wrong? Did I misbehave on stage? Did I abuse anyone? What do you all want? I am so hurt”).
Ahmed then proceeded to show his phone to the audiences and said, “This phone is on flight mode since last night. Someone leaked my contact number on Facebook.”
“Aap ne kya expect kia tha mujhse. Main aik host hoon. Main yahan pe aa k kapray utar k nachoon ga. Main ganay gaoonga. Main America gaya or Atif Aslam or Sonu Nigam ke shows ko host kiya. I am the only Pakistani host jisne Indian artist ka show host kia hai. Aap koi host dikha dein mujhay utha k. There is no one. (“I am just a host. What was I supposed to do? Take off my clothes and dance? I’ve been a host for a long time. I’ve hosted shows for Atif Aslam in America. I’ve done this before, I didn’t just come out of nowhere. But what did I do so wrong?)” he said.
Godil shared that since the PSL ceremony he has replayed his performance multiple times to try to find out where he went wrong. He shared that he is under severe mental pressure and fears that his career could end because of the trolling.
Godil is a host, VJ, RJ, actor and model. He did his Bachelor’s from Iqra University and Master’s from SZABIST. Before hosting PSL V, he also hosted the FebFest and Karachi Eat.
Sultan of Swing Wasim Akram’s life is being made into a movie.
The film titled Akram: An Era was announced at the opening ceremony of the fifth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) at the National Stadium in Karachi.
According to the press release, the film will go on floors at the end of this year. The cast and release date has not yet been locked.
Akram: An Era will be produced under the banners of 502 Productions and Pomelo Films with Executive Producers Adeel Niazi and Arsalan H. Shah steering the project. Niazi will also be directing the film.
Sharing his thoughts on the film, Akram said, “The fact that films are being made on cricket and, more importantly, sports stars is not only a good sign for the film industry but for the sport as well. Movies are a unique portal to engage a whole new generation, I am looking forward to participating in the production and cannot wait to see how this pans out.”
The movie is said to not only highlight Wasim Akram’s many accomplishments but also shed light on his personal life and endeavours outside the stadium.
Akram: An Era is currently in its preliminary stages of pre-filming and the production house will be commencing with auditions and screen tests soon after PSL 2020.
Previously, a film was made on the life of Shahid Afridi. The film starred Humayun Saeed and Hamza Ali Abbasi in key roles.
Former Interior Minister and a prominent member of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Rehman Malik has announced that he is working on a film to highlight Indian atrocities in Indian-occupied Kashmir (IoK).
According to reports, Malik will not only produce a full feature film but he will also be penning the script for it. The film will be based on his book Bleeding Kashmir that was launched on Tuesday.
Speaking to The Current, the Senator shared that a script is being finalised.
When asked who he wants to cast in his film, he shared that he is working with his contacts “abroad and local”.
“I will continue to fight for oppressed Kashmiris,” remarked Malik, when asked why he is making the film.
Further details regarding the film have not yet been revealed as of now.
Meanwhile, Malik’s book Bleeding Kashmir aims to present an unfiltered account of bloodshed in IoK. The book has been dedicated to the martyrs of Kashmir and the victims of Indian brutalities especially Insha Mushtaq who lost her eyes as a result of the injuries sustained due to the aggression by Indian Armed Forces in held Kashmir but did not discontinue education.
Malik also announced that the proceeds from the book will go to the Shuhadas (martyrs) Foundation.
