After a long battle on social media, Fatima Sohail, the estranged wife of actor-singer Mohsin Abbas Haider has filed for khula in a family court in Lahore.
According to reports, Fatima made her case on grounds of domestic abuse and infidelity. Fatima requested to the court to approve her plea for khula and issue a decree in the matter.
Meanwhile, Mohsin took to social media to express his joy on this development.
In an explosive account posted to social media on July 21 Fatema had come forward with accusations of cheating and domestic abuse against the actor-singer. Fatema alleged that in November 2018, she caught Mohsin cheating on her and when she confronted him, “instead of being embarrassed he started beating” her even though she was pregnant at that time. Luckily her child survived and Fatema said that she moved past the incident for the sake of her child. She continued that her childbirth was a complicated process but Mohsin never supported her and was instead, busy having an affair with an emerging model, Nazish Jahangir.
On August 28, a lower court in Lahore found Mohsin guilty of threatening his wife.
TV anchor Juggun Kazim in a heartbreaking post on social media opened about her recent miscarriage and how she was fat-shamed while being pregnant.
Juggun shared that she was recently pregnant but did not share it because her pregnancies have “generally been precarious.” Because of which she put on weight really quickly. But what surprised her was the reactions of the people who assumed that she had gained weight and proceeded to fat-shame her.
Juggun further revealed that a week ago she miscarried. And when she returned to work someone again commented on how she was looking “extra healthy.”
Juggun requested everyone to stop fat-shaming other people, or even commenting on their body, because they don’t know what the other person is going through.
Pop singer Justin Bieber, in a heartfelt social media post, opened up about his struggles with growing up in the spotlight, including being “resentful” and using “heavy drugs.”
The chart-topping performer, who became an international sensation as a teenager, commented that early fame led him to make “every bad decision.”
Bieber began his lengthy note by saying that he understands what it feels like to be overwhelmed by life, job, responsibilities, family, finances and relationships.
“When it feels like there is trouble after trouble after trouble,” Bieber wrote.
He then talked about what happens when a child is thrust into the spotlight like he was.
“Have you noticed the statistics of child stars and the outcome of their life? There is an insane pressure and responsibility put on a child whose brain, emotions, frontal lobes (decision making) aren’t developed yet,” he wrote. “No rationality, defiant, rebellious, things all of us have to go through. But when you add the pressure of stardom, it does something to you that is quite unexplainable.”
The singer-songwriter, who has more than 100 million followers on Instagram, further shared that being constantly told how great he was as a teen sensation only made things worse.
“I went from a 13-year-old boy from a small town to being praised left and right by the world, with millions saying how much they loved me and how great I was,” he shared. “You hear these things enough as a young boy and you actually start believing it. Rationality comes with age.”
Bieber elaborated that because of his immaturity, he turned to drugs and was abusive in his relationships.
“I started doing pretty heavy drugs at 19 and abused all of my relationships. I became resentful, disrespectful to women, and angry,” he wrote. “I became distant to everyone who loved me, and I was hiding behind a shell of a person that I had become. I felt like I could never turn it around. It’s taken me years to bounce back from all of these terrible decisions, fix broken relationships, and change relationship habits.”
He concluded by crediting his marriage to Hailey Baldwin with helping him learn “patience, trust, commitment, kindness, humility and all of the things it looks like to be a good man.”
Justin signed off saying, “Even when the odds are against you keep fighting,” and love people by “God’s perfect, unfailing love.”
Lahore-based model and anchor Sophia Mirza who was found involved in a money laundering case has denied all allegations and said that the “propaganda” is being spread by her ex-husband.
According to media reports, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had found Sophia involved in kidnapping for ransom, money laundering and other fraudulent activities.
Taking to Twitter, Sophia shared a series of videos in which she refuted all the reports and blamed her ex-husband Umer Farooq, who now resides in Norway, for maligning her image.
“This is a conscious attempt by my husband to spread fake news about me so that the settlement of our children and assets can go in his favour,” Mirza said.
Mirza remarked that neither the NAB or the FIA approached her in regards to any investigation. She added that she has “legally taken action against all social media through cybercrime in FIA” for spreading fake news about her.
Mirza, who also hosts a show on one of Pakistan’s leading media outlet, was reportedly also involved in a fraud and kidnapping incident two years back.
Mirza is not the first model/actor to be implicated in such a case. Earlier in 2015, model Ayyan Ali was arrested from Islamabad’s Shaheed Benazir Bhutto International Airport for attempting to carry $506,800 to the UAE without the permission of the State Bank of Pakistan.

One week later, Naimal Khawar and Hamza Ali Abbasi’s wedding is still trending. Though the hype has died down a bit, fans still get excited when they get an update from the couple.
The new bride has also resumed her social media activities and hit back at trolls just earlier this week. Now she’s shared how she felt while wearing her mother’s jora on her nikkah and that she did her own hair and makeup.
“The moment I realised I’m getting married, I knew I wanted to wear my Amma’s nikkah jora,” she wrote. “I have always been drawn to old-world charm and the nazakat of bridal joras back in the day. There is also a certain emotional attachment that comes with wearing your mother’s jora.”
“Having worn it, I can say it was easily the best decision I made,” she continued before revealing that she even did her own hair and makeup.
“I also did my own hair and makeup because I wanted to keep it simple and minimal.”

Naimal kept her nikkah look simple and minimalistic with clean, glowing skin, light eyes, well-defined brows and a peachy pout – perfect for an afternoon summer wedding.
Naimal’s decision of stepping away from the norm and being confident enough to do her own hair and makeup considering that she knew how much coverage her wedding would be getting is admirable and we love it.
Do you think more brides will follow Naimal’s footsteps or will we stick to the regular parlours?
Two episodes in, ARY’s latest offering Meray Pass Tum Ho is being discussed everywhere – from Whatsapp groups to Facebook groups. ARY knew they had a hit on their hands with Humayun Saeed, Ayeza Khan and Adnan Siddiqui in the main roles. And this isn’t your run of the mill saas/bahu drama.
The story begins with a happily married Danish (Humayun Saeed) and Mehwish (Ayeza Khan) who live within a government officer’s means. They have a son who isn’t going to a good school because of lack of finances. Danish is smitten by his wife and is willing to do everything and anything to make her happy. Mehwish, on the other hand, is materialistic and wants expensive jewellery because her friend Anushay (Meher Bano) is loaded and she wants to be too. To make Mehwish happy, Danish gives up his morals and resorts to corruption, because as the man he must give her what she wants.
So Danish turns to becoming a corrupt government official and getting lakh, two lakh rupee kickbacks to buy his wife jewellery so she can compete with her richer friend Anushay. In walks, Anushay’s husband’s boss Shahwaar (Adnan Siddiqui) who is a ladies man, has a wife who lives abroad, travels a lot with his secretaries and has a Prado.
The Kabab mai haddi
At the end of the second episode, we kind of know what’s coming. Mehwish, entranced by Shahwaar’s good lucks, dashing smile and above all, money, money, money is going to flutter towards him, and Danish, getting a feeler of Shahwaar’s interest in his wife asks her to stay away from such a “loose” character.
The moment when they spot Shahwaar together
The actors are great and the story is realistic. The script has been penned by Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar while Nadeem Baig has directed this – both masters of their games. The lust for money taking over a genuinely loving marriage happens – to both men and women and it seems the drama might be taking that interesting route. Let’s see how it goes since the twist is bound to be epic.

The film is based on the book by Jake Bernstein titled Secrecy World: Inside the Panama Papers Investigation of Illicit Money Networks and the Global Elite.
