  • Make most of your summer break

    With exams over and the summer break in full swing, now is the best time to start planning on how to spend your holidays and make the most of them. While sleeping through the days and binge-watching shows through the night does sound tempting, it becomes boring after a little while and can leave you feeling lazy and low.

    Here are some exciting things you can do this summer.

    Volunteer at an old home

    Make voluntarily visits to old homes or orphanages. Spend some quality time with the people there by playing games or reading them story books.

    Alternately, if you’re someone who’s fond of animals, you can even volunteer at an animal shelter. Such places are usually short of staff and they can always do with an extra pair of hands.

    Internships

    Internships during the summer break offer many advantages. Not only do you learn new skills, but you also get work experience which will help you when you start looking for jobs.

    Travel

    Travel to some new place, meet new people and learn a new culture or explore your own city with your friends. Take a lot of pictures and Enjoy! Here are the places you can visit this summer that are not very popular.

    Expand your knowledge

    Take advantage of your free time and expand your knowledge. Make a list of books you always wanted to read or find the best sellers or you can ask your friends and family for the books that are worth reading.

    Take Courses

    Learn cooking, baking and surprise your family with a yummy cake or you can go for some tech courses. Master photoshop this summer and get your pictures perfectly edited.

    Plant a garden

    Decide what you would like to grow, flowers or vegetables, and google how to plant and care. Keep your garden watered and weeds out of your garden. If you don’t have a lot of space at home, you can plan in pots but make sure they get enough sunlight.

    We’re not spoiled for choice when it comes to international travel. 2018 winner of the Skytrax World Airline awards, was Singapore airlines but this year, it’s Qatar Airways, an airline which operates from major cities in Pakistan.

    The annual awards are announced in Paris and voted for by more than 20 million passengers worldwide.

    Singapore Airlines took second place and another Pakistan favourite, Emirates just made the top five by making it to 5th place.

    KP government plans to introduce helicopter service to Kalam, Chitral

    KP Tourism Minister Atif Khan in a recent media talk revealed that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is planning to start a helicopter service to make it easier for people to reach popular tourist spots.

    Many of KP’s tourist destinations, including Swat’s Kalam Valley, Chitral and Kumrat are difficult to reach due to lack of infrastructure, proper roads and difficult terrain. Most of the roads are narrow and not carpeted and hence dangerous. Helicopter services will cut down the travel time and make it easier for tourists to reach these areas.

    The minister did not share details as to what the cost of this service will be or when it will begin.

    The Imran Khan led government is working on an extensive plan to boost tourism in the country and make Pakistan a tourist hotspot.

    Televangelist Farhat Hashmi has often been criticised for her regressive views and statements.

    Recently, a video on her’s surfaced on Twitter in which she is saying that marital rape does not exist. According to Hashmi, a woman cannot say no to her husband and advises wives to submit to their husbands’ ‘demands’.

    Hashmi said that she wouldn’t prefer to talk on the relations between a husband and wife because they are private but because it is about religion she feels she should address the matter. Farhat then went onto say that a lot of marriages and households are affected because of such matters as they are not openly discussed.

    Farhat then went onto say that women have developed a mood of resistance and are more focused towards their careers because of which they don’t have enough time for their husbands. She said that “Allah ki raza, shohar ki raza main hai aur Allah ki narazgi, shohar ki narazgi main hai.

    Farhat also said that men work hard to keep their wives so the least the wives can do is to ensure they are sexually satisfied and that a woman’s mood shouldn’t count. Farhat asserted that in order to keep Allah happy, a women must keep her husband happy. She even quoted a Hadith to support her stance.

    However, Farhat said that oral and anal sex is unlawful and haraam. She also said that if a woman is sick or is physically weak then she doesn’t have to oblige to her husband’s demands.

    Army to airlift obese man from Sadiqabad

    Chief of the Armed Staff (COAS), General Qamar Javed Bajwa has allowed an Army air ambulance to airlift an obese man from Sadiqabad to a private hospital in Lahore.

    As per details, Noor Hassan, a resident of Sadiqabad had appealed to the Army chief for assistance on social media and had requested for an air ambulance to carry him out of his house. The biggest ambulance available had been unable to carry the overweight patient to Lahore for his operation.

    A helicopter will carry Hassan, who weighs 320 kgs, from Sadiqabad to Lahore where he will be operated upon to help him reduce some weight.
