    PCB refuses to issue NOC to Usama Mir for T20 Blast

    The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has refused to issue a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to Usama Mir for participation in T20 Blast.

    According to PCB, Usama Mir has not been given any more NOCs due to two league limit. Mir has played two leagues in the cycle from July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024.

    Usama had participated in The Hundred and the Big Bash League last year. PCB allows two leagues to contracted players to play in, apart from the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

    Usama Mir was supposed to represent Worcestershire Rapids in T20 Blast, but now the team has canceled his contract after not getting NOC.

    T20 Blast franchise Worcestershire has selected West Indies’ Hayden Walsh to replace Usama Mir.

    The viral post (All Eyes on Rafah) on social media against Israeli atrocities refers to the genocide of Palestinians in the Rafah region of Gaza, where more than 1.4 million Palestinians are seeking asylum.

    According to media reports, Safia Al-Sayegh has represented the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at the World Cycling Championships and has recently been given the good news of qualifying for the 2024 Paris Olympics by the UAE Cycling Federation.

    The 2024 Paris Olympics will be held from July 26 to August 11.

    A warm-up match between USA and Bangladesh was canceled due to stormy weather in Dallas. Several parts of the USA have been hit by thunderstorms and tornadoes in the last week, resulting in the deaths of at least 23 people.

    Australia has won a warmup T20 World Cup match against Namibia with coaching and support staff in the team.

    Under the leadership of Mitchell Marsh, Australia, with only nine players available in the line-up, needed other players to complete the bowling innings. So Kangaroos chief selector former captain George Bailey, head coach Andrew Macdonald, fielding coach Andre Borwick and batting coach Brad Hodge did the fielding duties.

    Among the coaching and support staff, George Bailey and fielding coach Andre Borwick remained on the field until the end of the bowling innings.

    Despite taking six wickets for 50 in the 12th over, the Australian team failed to dismiss the entire Namibian team. Namibia scored 119 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs while the Kangaroos achieved the target with the loss of three wickets in just 10 overs.

    This is the first time in the history of T20 World Cup warm-up matches that a coaches and support staff played a match.

    The final T20I of the series between Pakistan and England will be played on Thursday.

    In the Saudi Pro League match against Al Ittihad, Cristiano Ronaldo scored in the last minute of the first half to give Al Nasr Club the lead.

    The second half began and Ronaldo scored another goal in the 69th minute, also taking the Saudi league record for most goals scored in a season with 35.

    In the last 20 minutes of the match, Al-Nasr Club scored two more goals, Al-Ittihad Club scored two goals in the match, Al-Nasr Club won the match by four goals.

    Al-Hilal finished first in the Saudi season while Al-Nasr finished second for the second year in a row.

According to ‘The Weather Channel’ rain could spoil the game during the match as there is a 50 percent chance of showers during the day and 40 percent during the night. The match will start at 10:30 PM Pakistan Standard Time (which is 6:30 PM local time).

    England took a 1-0 lead in the series with a 23-run victory in the second T20 on Saturday. The first match at Leeds on Wednesday ended without a ball being bowled. The final match of the series will be played at The Oval on Thursday.

    BCCI receives fake application from Narendra Modi for team coach

    The Board of Control for Cricket in Indian (BCCI) has received fake applications for the position of head coach from Narendra Modi, Sachin Tendulkar, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and others.

    According to Indian media reports, the cricket board has received around 3,000 applications including fake ones, for the post.

    In 2022, BCCI received 5,000 applications, including fake ones sent in the name of many well-known personalities.

    The Indian board released an online Google form for head coaches earlier this month and the deadline for submission of applications was May 27.

    The tenure of Indian current head coach Rahul Dravid is ending when T20 World Cup finishes.
