Rohit Sharma’s dismissal in a match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians on March 27 took the life of a person.

According to foreign media, the incident happened while a match was being played in Kolhapur in the ongoing IPL in India when a spectator expressed happiness on the dismissal. Sharma’s fans became angry at his joy, beating him with sticks. He later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. According to the report, the victim has been identified as Bandu Pant.

The police arrested two men, Balwant Jhange and his nephew Sagar Jhange on suspicion of attacking Pant with a wooden plank and a stick.

Police have produced the suspects in court and taken them on remand while an investigation is going on.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has stopped former T20 captain Shaheen Afridi from issuing any statement, says Jang.

Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Mohsin Naqvi will visit the national team camp in Kakul today where he will meet Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi to discuss future plans.

Sources say that Afridi had written a detailed tweet, but later he was stopped at the last moment from posting it. The bowler will put forward his reservations on the statement, allegedly issued without consultation.

Mohsin Naqvi will also take Iftaar with the players in the camp.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has given it’s reasons for removing Shaheen Shah Afridi from captaincy.

In a statement, PCB has said, “Removing Shaheen Afridi from the leadership and handing over the responsibility to Babar Azam was a strategic step, which was aimed at ensuring high performance of the players considering the workload.”

“Shaheen Afridi has undoubtedly proven himself to be a star fast bowler, he has led Pakistan’s pace attack for many years, the board understands the importance of rotation and rest to maintain his best performance” the statement said.

The PCB said the decision was taken keeping in mind “workload management” to ensure that key bowlers remain at the top of their game.

“The board does not want the national team to suffer from an injury crisis in terms of bowling resources like Shaheen Afridi was injured before the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 and Naseem Shah before the ICC One Day Cricket World Cup 2023.”

The decision to change the captain shows the board’s determination to protect the players’ long careers and fast bowlers from injuries.

Pakistan Cricket Board has appointed Babar Azam the captain of Pakistan ODI and T20 Cricket Team once again.

In a statement issued by PCB said that the selection committee of Pakistan Cricket Board also reached Kakul last night and took Shaheen Shah Afridi into confidence on the board’s decision and also informed him about the future plan of the cricket board.

Babar Azam has led the Pakistani team in 71 T20 matches including the T20 World Cup. Under the captaincy of Babar Azam, Pakistan won 42 matches and the Green Shirts faced defeat in 23.

Pakistan cricket team’s star batsman Babar Azam has demanded the captaincy of all three formats from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

According to a Cricinfo report, PCB has offered Babar Azam the leadership in white ball cricket but he has not accepted the position till now, demanding the captaincy of all three formats.

The report states that Shaheen Afridi, who recently became the T20 captain, will be removed from the leadership of the team.

After the conclusion of the ICC World Cup 2023, Babar was removed from the captaincy of all formats. Shaheen was appointed the captain in T20 and Shan Masood as Test captain while the captain for ODIs has not been announced yet.
