Hiba Ali Khan received threats for negative role in Jaan Nisar

Actress Hiba Ali Khan played the negative role of Kashmala in the trending drama Jaan Nisar with such dedication and skill that she received threats for ruining the lives of Hiba Ali Bukhari and Danish Taimur’s characters.

Kashmala is the first wife of the hero Danish Taimur, while Hiba Bukhari plays Dua, his second wife.

Hiba’s character is always trying to create cracks in her relationship by plotting against her husband and his second wife.

The actress has done such a good job that people are having trouble distinguishing fact from fiction.

Hiba recently gave an interview to GeoDigital, in which she opened up about her role and the drama.

“I accepted the role immediately after reading the script, as I felt that my character was different and the most lively,” she said.

She added, “Throughout the drama, I was always seen trying to spoil the life of Danish Taimur and Hiba Ali Bukhari, on which my character is getting a lot of hate. I was threatened in Instagram messages for trying to spoil the relationship between HIba Bukhari and Danish Taimur, i was told that my sin was unforgivable.”

According to the actress, people seem to be hating her character on other social media platforms including drama reviews on YouTube.

She also revealed, “The shooting of the drama took place during intense summer heat, which caused the director to faint twice. Additionally, both she and Hiba Ali Bukhari also fell ill.”

She added, “At the end of the drama, people will start pitying my character because in the last episodes, it will be shown why she is so negative.”

Earlier, she gave an interview to Independent Urdu where she talked about the last few episodes of the drama serial Jaan Nisar which will include major flashbacks to reveal why her character is so obsessive and negative.

She said, “Kashmala can’t be justified, but at least I can give 20 percent justification for the hatred you all have towards her. In the end, in the last few episodes, you’ll get a complete flashback that will reveal why Kashmala became the way she is, and that she too has been wronged in a way. I am not defending Kashmala, she is indeed a wrong person.”

“All your curses for her are justified, and bad people should face consequences in the end. But still, Kashmala has a side that made her this way. So, nobody is a born criminal; circumstances and situations can turn people into something else. I feel that this aspect is totally ignored, and she is completely misunderstood, as if her side of the story doesn’t even exist,” she added.

  • Adnan Shah Tipu missed a chance to share the screen with THIS Bollywood superstar

Adnan Shah Tipu missed a chance to share the screen with THIS Bollywood superstar

Every actor hopes for a big break, but sometimes chances are lost, leaving behind feelings of regret.

Adnan Shah Tipu recently opened up about a major career regret during his appearance on the Faysal Quarishi podcast.

The host asked him ‘Tipu you mentioned that you realized that it wasn’t in your destiny to be in ‘Dedh Ishqiya’ with Madhuri Dixit.’”

Adan replied, “I had given around nine or ten auditions for the character of Nawab, which was played by Vijay Raaz, who is an amazing actor. I even received a call from Vishal Bhai, telling me to prepare. Then, Vishal Bhai himself went to Delhi for the audition, and they said, ‘We can’t do it.’ It’s all about fate, when it’s meant to happen, it happens. “

Instead of Vijaz Raaz, Adan Shah Tipu would have been playing the character of Nawab opposite the legendary Madhrui Dixit.

He also reflected on his relationships within the industry, saying, “I have a good relationship with Imran Abbas, and he is our colleague, but we don’t meet often, we rarely discuss work. One time, someone was saying that they needed a certain type of role, and he mentioned that only one person in all of Pakistan could play that role: ‘Tipu.’ Everything just fell into place, and if it wasn’t meant to be, it wouldn’t happen.

Tipu also opened up about his experience meeting with American actor Robert De Niro.

“I’m heading there, and I see Robert De Niro. You know how big of a fan I am of De Niro. I was wearing a tuxedo, and there he was, standing right in front of me, coming down. When he saw me, our eyes locked, I waved, and he waved back. I was watching him, and even as I climbed up, I was still looking at him. Our eyes were locked in that moment, and it felt like I knew him, like he was my friend or my mentor. That moment at the Cannes Film Festival was an experience I can’t even explain,” the Parizaad actor added.

Dedh Ishqiya, written by Vishal Bhardwaj, was released in 2014.

The evidence collected by a seven-member committee formed by the Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, has presented its finding in the Punjab College alleged rape case. The committee, headed by Chief Secretary Punjab Zahid Zaman, said that the alleged rape incident of a student was based on fake news that was viral on social media.

The nine-page report was prepared by the committee members, including the Punjab Chief Secretary, Advocate General Punjab, Home Secretary, Higher Education Secretary and Special Education Secretary.

The News reported that the social media post that resulted in violent protests by students in front of various campuses of Punjab Colleges pushed the government to impose Section 144 across the province.

During the formulation of the report, the committee recorded the statements of the alleged rape victim and her parents, who categorically denied that such an incident took place.

They further informed the committee that the girl got injured at home, leading to her being admitted to a private hospital for treatment. They also said that the girl had never been a student of the said campus and that she did not attend the college from October 2 onwards because of her injury. The college record also complied with this statement.

Pakistan right-arm spinner Sajid Khan has revealed that when he was selected for the national team cricket camp, he had no shoes to play in.

In a viral clip on social media, Sajid talks about his struggles. He said, “When I was selected for the cricket camp, I had no shoes to wear. Then fast bowler Imran senior saw me. “Whenever I played cricket, I used to perform at my best, but I was the first to be dropped from the team. I have played school cricket in Peshawar, from U-13 and U-16. • Experts believe SBP has more room to cut policy rate as inflation declines

Experts believe SBP has more room to cut policy rate as inflation declines

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) is likely to reduce policy rate by 400 basis points this year, as a notable drop in the country’s inflation gives room for continued monetary easing to support economic growth.

According to Topline Securities, inflation in Pakistan is expected to remain low in October but may rise a little on a monthly basis.

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) for this month is estimated to stay between 6.5 per cent and 7.0 per cent year-on-year, with a 0.9 per cent rise month-on-month. This can bring the average inflation rate for first four months of FY25 to 8.6 per cent compared to 28.5 per cent during the same period in 2023.

What experts are calling “the faster-than-expected ease in inflation” is largely because of the delays in raising administered electricity prices, somewhat favourable global oil and food prices, and a stable Pakistani rupee.

Recent estimates suggest headline inflation will drop from 23.4 per cent in FY24 to around 9 per cent in FY25. In response to this trend, the SBP has already cut its policy rate by 450 basis points, lowering it to 17.5 per cent in September from 22 per cent in May 2024.

To note, inflation in the previous month crashed to its lowest level in nearly four years, with consumer prices rising by 6.9 per cent year-on-year, within the central bank’s target range of 5-7 per cent. However, economic growth remains modest.

The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) rose 2.5 per cent in FY24, after a contraction the previous year, but this is still below the long-term average growth rate.

As per the APGJSA, the gold price recorded a massive increase of Rs3,000 per tola during the day and rose to its all-time high level.

Interestingly, this is the third straight record high price recorded for gold within this week.

The last record high price of 24-karat gold was recorded on Thursday when the association quoted the precious metal’s rate at Rs277,900, which was the then-record high.

The previous record high, before today’s peak, was seen after the yellow metal witnessed a single-day surge of Rs700 in its earlier price of Rs277,200 per tola, recorded on Wednesday.

The price for ten-gramme gold also spiked and was recorded at Rs240,826 after an increase of Rs2,572.

Today’s surge comes after the gold price saw an unexpectedly big increase of $30 in the international market, clocking in at $2,712 per ounce. This price is inclusive of a premium of $20.

The announcement of the Pakistan cricket team squad for the white ball series against Australia is expected next week. According to Geo, Muhammad Rizwan is being considered for leadership in the series, but the final decision will be made in consultation with the chairman and selectors.

Apart from this, fast bowler Muhammad Hasnain, who last played an ODI in 2023, is a strong candidate to join the team.

Hasnain’s return has been assured thanks to his excellent performance in the recent Champions Cup and President’s Cup.

All-rounder Amir Jamal and young wicketkeeper-batsman Haseebullah are also in the eyes of the selection committee and could be included in the squad.

The Pakistan cricket team has to go on a tour of Australia next month for a white ball series.

PM Shehbaz writes to Joe Biden for Dr Aafia Siddiqui’s release

Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif wrote a letter to the President of the United States Joe Biden on Friday for the pardon and release of Dr Aafia Siddiqui.

Dr Siddiqui, a neuroscientist, has been serving an 86-year sentence at Federal Medical Center (FMC) Carswell in Texas, USA.

Pakistani PM’s letter to the US read: “Now 52 years old, she has spent approximately sixteen years behind bars in the US.”

  • Reko Diq to possibly secure $4.5 billion in loans and investments

Reko Diq to possibly secure $4.5 billion in loans and investments

Bilateral sources line up to extend loans totalling USD 4.5 billion to Pakistan for the Reko Diq mining operation. Business owners surrounding the mining facility prepare to celebrate as the influx of funds will serve to promote business activity in the region.

The greatest potential lender is the EXIM (Export-Import) Bank of the United States, which is interested in lending USD 1.5 billion to the Reko Diq mining operation.

Other lenders like the World Bank, Asian Development Bank and bilateral sources like Canada, Japan, and Germany, among many others also expressed their interest in the project by offering to pitch in the combined value of three billion dollars in loans.

The inflow of foreign investments and loans is bound to improve the transportation infrastructure of the area around the extraction site – primarily roads. Saudi Arabia has already offered to invest USD 150 million in infrastructure as part of the Saudi investment package into Reko Diq, which has still not been accepted by Pakistan.

The new roads that will get paved for transporting gold and copper out of the mines will also be used by local businesses to move goods from warehouses to stores. Travel times and costs will witness a drop, helping businesses in the area improve their supply chain.

This will also make the area around Reko Diq more accessible to tourists and travellers, which will rake in more traffic. With the increase in visitors, local shops, restaurants, rest stops, and other businesses will have the chance to attract more customers.

Moreover, foreign investments will bring foreign workers to the mining zone who will need housing, food, and other services. New businesses could spring up to meet these needs, which will likely create jobs and reduce the current unemployment rate of 9.13 per cent, which is second only to Kashmir.

The Government of Balochistan owns a 25 per cent stake in the mining operation. If the loans flow in, Balochistan’s economy will likely see an improvement along with the businesses that call it home.
