Former Indian cricket team captain and star batsman Virat Kohli’s participation in this year’s International Cricket Council (ICC) T20 World Cup has become doubtful.
According to a report filed in ‘The Telegraph’, the Indian selection panel led by chief selector Ajit Agarkar is not keen to include Virat Kohli in the squad for the T20 World Cup as the selectors and team management believe that the star batsman has failed to meet the needs of the team in T20 format.
The report further stated that BCCI has left the decision of Virat Kohli’s participation in the mega event to Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar. India has not won an ICC trophy since 2013, prompting the selectors to aim for big and bold decisions for the upcoming ICC event.
Virat Kohli made a comeback in the T20 team in January this year after an absence of over a year. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has already confirmed Rohit Sharma’s participation in the T20 World Cup, however, Virat Kohli’s participation is yet to be confirmed.
The provisional squad for the tournament is to be sent to the ICC in the first week of May.
Ramzan is about to begin and this month is very important from a health point of view. People usually consume two meals in the day. Therefore, the choice of foods during Sehri is very important as they act as fuel for the whole day.
Luckily, the weather is not likely to be very hot this Ramzan, however, dehydration in the body during fasting is still a risk. So, the following nutritional tips can help maintain body energy throughout the day and also protect against dehydration.
Choose a healthy and light diet
Choose Sehri foods that are beneficial for health and do not burden the stomach. Bread, eggs, vegetables, pulses and chicken can be considered the best.
Have dates regularly
Apart from iftar, it is useful to eat one or two dates in sehri. Dates contain many nutrients including copper and magnesium, while the sweetness in them provides energy in the form of glucose in the body.
Use yogurt
Adding yogurt to sehri balances the diet and reduces the possibility of acidity. Yogurt is high in water content so it also reduces the chances of dehydration during fasting.
Apples and bananas
Adding these two fruits to breakfast provides the body with fiber, vitamin C and several antioxidants while reducing the risk of dehydration.
Foods high in water content
Eating foods high in water content like cucumbers, tomatoes, or watermelons can reduce the chance of dehydration throughout the day.
Avoid foods high in chillies, salt and sugar
Minimize the consumption of chillies, salt and sugar in Sehri as excessive consumption of these three will make you feel more thirsty throughout the day. Consuming too much salt in particular increases the risk of dehydration as it causes fluid to accumulate around it, increasing the feeling of thirst.
Don’t forget to drink adequate amounts of water
A simple and good way to avoid dehydration is to drink adequate amounts of water during Sehri. You have to decide it for yourself, as to how much the amount of water should it be but not too much or too little.

In a surprising turn of events, the soaring prices of cars in Pakistan have not deterred buyers, as car sales experienced a notable uptick in February 2024.
According to data released by the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA), car sales edged up by 1.94 per cent, reaching 7,953 units, compared to 7,802 units recorded in January 2024.
This positive momentum follows a robust performance in the preceding month, where car sales hit their highest mark since December 2022.
Analysts attribute this continued growth to the momentum generated by the new year, which has carried over into February.
Year-on-year comparisons reveal a substantial increase, with car sales spiking by 2.18 times compared to February 2023, when only 3,642 units were sold.
However, despite this recent surge, cumulative sales for the first eight months of fiscal year 2024 stand at 46,417 units, marking a 40.93 per cent decline from the same period last year.
Similarly, the production of passenger cars has witnessed a significant downturn, with 8MFY24 recording 48,402 units, reflecting a 40.84 per cent decrease compared to the previous fiscal year.
In February alone, production plummeted by 16.77 per cent month-on-month, totaling 8,002 units, down from 9,614 units in January 2023.
Nonetheless, on a year-on-year basis, production saw a remarkable surge of 69.97 per cent, indicating a shift in manufacturing trends.
Despite these fluctuations, the automotive landscape faces challenges, notably with Pak Suzuki Motor Company announcing two price hikes within a span of ten days in response to increased sales tax.
The repercussions of these adjustments on sales are anticipated to unfold in the coming weeks, as the market adapts to the new pricing structure.
In the domestic bullion market, Tuesday saw a relatively stagnant session, with the price of 24-karat gold slipping by Rs100 to Rs230,100 per tola.
Notably, this marks the first decline in gold prices in Pakistan following ten consecutive sessions of growth.
Just last week, the price of 24-karat gold surged by almost Rs10,000 per tola, reaching levels unseen since September 2023.
However, according to the Karachi Sarafa Association, the price of 10-gramme 24-karat gold dropped to Rs197,274 per tola, reflecting a decrease of Rs86.
Similarly, the price of 10-gramme 22-karat gold experienced a slight dip, settling at Rs180,834.
Contrastingly, silver prices remained stable today, with 24-karat silver maintaining its rate at Rs 2,600 per tola and Rs2,229.08 per 10-gramme.
On the global stage, international spot gold traded near $2,177.14 an ounce, marking a 0.26% decrease from the previous session.
Investors are closely monitoring Tuesday’s U.S. inflation data, anticipating its impact on monetary policy.
Twitter is having a riot with the recent controversy of Kate Middleton’s recent photo released by the Daily Mail.
It all started with Kate Middleton’s abdominal surgery after which she was not seen in the public eye. In the absence of more details, speculation grew and to put it to rest, the royal couple’s official X handle released a picture of the princess with her children.
Thank you for your kind wishes and continued support over the last two months.
— The Prince and Princess of Wales (@KensingtonRoyal) March 10, 2024
Major news agencies like AP, AFP, and Reuters pulled the image from their official sources because it was manipulated.
A day later, an official apology was released through the same account in Kate Middleton’s name, apologizing for “any confusion” caused by the edited family picture. Hours after that, Daily Mail published a picture of Kate leaving Windsor Castle alongside her husband Prince William on March 11.
The photos, published by the Daily Mail, showed the couple sitting next to each other in the backseat of a car as Kate looked out of her window. The prince was heading to the Commonwealth Day services while his wife, Kate, the princess of Wales, was heading to a ‘private’ appointment, the publication said.
However, netizens on social media are coming up with diferent theories and rumors with the most prominent being the one that Kate has actually left the castle for good because her husband, Prince William is cheating on her. The rumored girlfriend of Princess William is Lady Rose Hanbury, 39, a former model and currently Marchioness of Cholmondeley, wife of David Rocksavage, 7th Marquess of Cholmondeley and mother of three.
In a detailed feature, The Independent shared that Rose is a close friend of Kate Middleton and upon her insistence, Kate attended a music festival at her husband’s estate, Houghtan Hall. The festival was a disco music event in which Kate was labelled Duchess of Disco. After making headlines, Lady Rose was interviewed by various publications including The English Home.
Known for her elite fashion sense, Lady Rose was said to be one of the best-dressed at Kate and William’s wedding.
The same was suggested by British journalist and author Omid Scobie, considered very close to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. He released a new book titled ‘Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy’s Fight for Survival’ in which he claimed that Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton distanced themselves from former friend Rose Hanbury since the rumours of an affair between her and the prince surfaced in 2019, as reported by Hindustan Times.
Lady Rose was mentioned in several posts on X as social media was busy dissecting Kate’s photoshopped image with her three children.
A user posted a thread about how the British publications are not protecting Kate but the prince himself because he has never been held accountable for anything in his life.
Prince William has never been held to account for anything in his life. But, the world is changing. While the British tabloids will continue protecting him from his acts of moral turpitude & other failings, the will not. That’s his dilemma w/o a Spare to absorb his failings. pic.twitter.com/uVOG6wGwmU
Another pointed out how the image released by Daily Mail also seems manipulated because the colour of the wall behind them is not matching even in the same image.
Yall!? Has no one else noticed that the most recent photo of #KateMiddleton in the car… the bricks in the car windows, don’t appear to match the bricks outside the car…
With a tinge of dark humour, a user posted a video of a man digging something with the caption, “William frantically digging Kate back up cause the photoshopped photo didn’t pass the sniff test”.
A Twitter user posted, “what’s going with #KateMidelton face- did she have surgery of abdominals, or plastic surgery of face to look better?” People have been posting clips from the past where the two have been distanced, implying that there was trouble in paradise.
Internet has been churning out memes about how first it was said that Prince clicked the photo with children and when the media protested, he put all the blame on Kate.
William – Here’s a photo I took earlier this week of Kate and the children.

Lebanon’s Hezbollah said Tuesday it launched over 100 rockets at Israeli military positions in retaliation for a strike on the country’s east that killed one person the day before.
Hezbollah and Israel have exchanged near-daily cross-border fire since the genocide in Gaza erupted in October, but several Israeli strikes have recently hit Hezbollah positions further north, raising fears of a full-blown conflict.
Hezbollah launched “more than a hundred katyusha rockets” Tuesday morning at two military bases in the occupied Golan Heights, the group said in a statement.
This was “in response to the Israeli attacks on our people, villages and cities, most recently near the city of Baalbek and the killing of a citizen”, it added.
On Monday, Israeli air strikes near Lebanon’s eastern city of Baalbek killed one person, in the second raid on the Hezbollah stronghold since cross-border hostilities began.
The Israeli military confirmed its jets had hit two sites belonging to “Hezbollah’s aerial forces” in retaliation for strikes on the occupied Golan Heights over several days.
On February 26, Israeli strikes targeted Baalbek, some 100 kilometres (60 miles) from the border, killing two Hezbollah members.
Earlier on Tuesday, Hezbollah said its chief Hassan Nasrallah met with Khalil al-Hayya, a leading member of Hamas’s political bureau.
They discussed ceasefire talks for the Gaza war, as well as attacks by Hamas’s regional allies to support its war efforts, the Hezbollah statement said.
Nasrallah is due to give a televised speech on Wednesday.
Hezbollah has repeatedly said it will only stop its attacks on Israel with a ceasefire in Gaza.
But Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant recently said any truce in Gaza would not change Israel’s goal of pushing Hezbollah out of southern Lebanon, by force or diplomacy.
Since the increased Israeli attacks on Gaza following October 7, at least 317 people, mainly Hezbollah fighters but also 54 civilians, have been killed in Lebanon, according to an AFP tally.
In Israel, at least 10 soldiers and seven civilians have been killed in the cross-border hostilities.

Azekah Daniel, who works as both an actor and a model, recently appeared on the cricket show ‘Har Lamha Purjosh’. She talked about what she likes in men, saying she prefers intelligence and personality over just good looks.
During the show, she joined in fun activities and answered the host Najeeb-ul-Husnain’s questions. When asked about what she thinks is more important in marriage, money or looks, Azekah said, “None, I believe.” She explained, “As far as money is involved, it can be earned by either of the two parties involved or even both together. And about looks, I prefer intellect and personality over it.”
In response to another question, Azekah said, “Directors, producers, and channels are more important for acting, rather than scripts and co-stars. I have worked with good directors on weak scripts, they either rewrite or execute in such a way which looks visually appealing to the viewers, so it’s all about how you are able to present something to the audience.”
She also admitted that she sometimes chooses not to work on projects because of certain co-stars she doesn’t want to work with.
