Ahad Raza Mir’s awards look took 24 hours to make

Pakistani heartthrob Ahad Raza Mir turned heads at the 10th Hum Awards looking effortlessly stylish in a green blazer paired with black pants, a look that, surprisingly, came together in just one day.

While most celebrities spend weeks, even months, planning their red carpet appearances, Ahad took a more spontaneous route. In a brief chat outside the event venue, the Yakeen Ka Safar star revealed: “My look was put together in a day because I was working and I just got it done by a designer named Tayyab Aabo, and he’s really helped me out. So that’s what it is.”

Ahad’s laid-back approach didn’t compromise on style. Known for his timeless yet modern aesthetic, designer Tayyab Aab crafted the bespoke ensemble for the actor. The two have collaborated before on editorial shoots, and their fashion chemistry clearly delivered once again.

Tayyab Aabo, celebrated for his luxury tailoring and contemporary takes on classic silhouettes, dressed Ahad in a look that struck the perfect balance between sophistication and ease, something fans have come to expect from the actor’s understated yet polished style.

Ahad was also nominated for the Global Star Award at this year’s ceremony, expressing excitement over the recognition, he said: “The award that it is… no matter who wins, we won,” he said with his signature humility.

In another fun video, Ahad was asked on the red carpet about the wildest DM he’s ever received from a fan. He replied with a straight: “Threats… The threat was like ‘Its either me or no one else.’”

Social media was quick to shower praise on Ahad’s effortlessly chic look, with fans flooding timelines with photos and clips from the night.

From his grounded attitude to his sharp fashion sense, Ahad Raza Mir continues to prove he doesn’t need weeks of planning to make a lasting impression.

  • Ramsha Khan spills the tea on dream co-star, showbiz survival, and her bold stance on industry misogyny

Ramsha Khan spills the tea on dream co-star, showbiz survival, and her bold stance on industry misogyny

Pakistani actress Ramsha Khan, known for her versatile performances and strong screen presence, recently sat down for an engaging interview with BBC Urdu, where she didn’t shy away from answering some fiery rapid-fire questions.

The Luv Guru star gave fans a rare glimpse into her personal views, dream projects, and the harsh realities of Pakistan’s entertainment industry.

When asked which actor she would love to be paired with on screen, Ramsha candidly revealed, “Shuja Asad”, making it clear that she has her eyes set on working with rising stars she admires. Her choice comes after her dance performance with Shuja at 10th Hum Awards in Houston. Their chemistry was so good that fans couldn’t stop from gushing about it.

Taking a bold stand, Ramsha stated that she would never endorse fairness creams, no matter how attractive the offer is.

In a segment where she was asked to choose between calling Ahad Raza Mir a “good actor” or a “good co-star,” Ramsha kept it short and to the point: “Just a good actor.” The response raised a few eyebrows and sparked curiosity among fans about the dynamic between the two.

When asked to share a tip for surviving in Pakistan’s showbiz, Ramsha dropped a truth bomb: “Trust no one but be friends with everyone.”

Ramsha also shared that she wouldn’t want to switch lives with any other actress, no matter how successful. “I love my struggles and miseries,” she said.

Ramsha didn’t hold back while discussing gender inequality in showbiz. She pointed out that male actors are treated with more leniency and given special treatment on sets.

“There is misogyny in our industry. If something goes wrong on set, male actors are accommodated, but if it’s a female actor, they’re quick to blame her,” she stated. She also criticized the misogynistic nature of TV scripts, highlighting how women are judged more harshly by viewers:

“A male character can cheat or smoke, and no one bats an eye. But if a female character wears sleeveless, suddenly she’s immoral. People think we’re just like the characters we play but we’re so much more than that.”

Ramsha also addressed her recent item number in the film Luv Guru, saying it was director Nadeem Baig who offered her the role.

“He said ‘See if you want to do it?’ I said okay because I had never done something like this before, so I gave it a shot.”

The dance performance received mixed reactions, and Ramsha admitted: “It doesn’t feel good when you hear such things about yourself.”

Beyond the glam, Ramsha revealed a vulnerable side and her struggle with social anxiety. “I get awkward in crowds. I’ve tried to overcome it and become more extroverted, but it just keeps coming back,” she shared. “I don’t want people to think I’m arrogant. I’m just a very anxious person.”

  • Rizvi still missing, money laundering investigation launched

Rizvi still missing, money laundering investigation launched

After Tehreek-i-Labbaik’s (TLP) protests brought Punjab’s roads to a standstill last week, causing the death of at least four people, including a police officer, and leaving 56 others injured, TLP Chief Saad Rizvi’s whereabouts are still unknown.

Last night on GEO News’ prime time programme ‘Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Saath’, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Operations Faisal Kamran said that the police did not have TLP’s Saad Rizvi or his brother Anas Rizvi in custody.

“You must have seen the video of (Rizvi) covering his face and walking away, after instigating the crowd. We have traced his whereabouts and where he went and we will soon find him…he is still on the run and he is not in police custody. But we are determined to catch him so he can be held accountable for what he did and tell us what his agenda was when he did it,” said the DIG.

Khanzada asked the DIG if Saad Rizvi had been shot or injured to which he said that Rizvi and his followers recorded everything and put it on social media. “If he is injured or shot, where are the videos?” he asked.

The DIG also mentioned that the TLP always gives exaggerated figures of people who have allegedly died in all their protests. There is no evidence of anyone who has died from their side, no hospital records or any other information, he stressed, adding that it was propaganda done by the TLP.

“They are not peaceful people, they steal cars and containers and we have witnesses and people that they have stolen cars from. They steal police mobiles and ride and drive them like they have taken over the nation. They always do this,” he said.

The DIG also went on to state that since 2017, 60 police officers were permanently disabled because of TLP protests. “They hit these officers with sticks that have nails on them, some have lost their eyesight, some their limbs,” he said, “This torture they inflict on people…injured is not the right word for it. These officers spend their whole lives with disabilities.”

When asked if it was a peaceful protest, the DIG said, “They are a religious party but lie brilliantly. They post lies on social media. We asked them why are you protesting for Gaza when Palestine has a ceasefire and the people there are happy. We told them, “Why don’t you protest in Lahore but they said that we will protest and go to the American embassy in Islamabad and they are used to doing what they want because the state has always subjected itself to their demands.”

Authorities have also launched a money-laundering investigation against Saad Rizvi after a “huge cache” of foreign currency and nearly 2kg of gold were recovered from his Lahore residence. Officials said the findings prompted a wider probe into Rizvi’s bank accounts, assets, and alleged funding networks, with the FIA freezing several accounts.

Punjab police said the TLP had purchased dozens of properties near its Multan Road headquarters, effectively turning the area into a “no-go zone” for law enforcement and the public. The recovered valuables included 1.92kg of gold, 898g of silver, 69 branded watches, and various gold ornaments.

  • Fact Check: No, Shehbaz Sharif did not meet Netanyahu

Fact Check: No, Shehbaz Sharif did not meet Netanyahu

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) member Shandana Gulzar took to X (formerly Twitter) in the early hours of Wednesday to assert that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Egypt.

Alongside her post, which said, “Article 6 ! Treason ! Pakistan does not recognise Israel let alone a genocidal murderer like Netanyahu or does khoon league have a separate country,” Shandana shared a photo of Shehbaz Sharif shaking hands with a man in a large room.

While it’s true that Pakistan does not recognise Israel, the rest of the tweet appears to incorrect. The photo, taken on the sidelines of the peace summit in Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt, shows Shehbaz Sharif with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

Many users shared a video in reply that showed the Pakistani Prime Minister talking to the Armenian Premier in a conference hall where they are joined by Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev.

The video was widely spread at the time of the summit, showing Shehbaz Sharif’s growing diplomatic clout.

When one X user pointed that out to Shandana, she replied, “Sir, they met in Egypt few months ago. Its not fake.”

As of the time of writing this fact check, Shandana Gulzar has not deleted her tweet despite being replied to with the video of the meeting.

Shadana later deleted her tweet, saying that the picture was not “100% clear’ and that it was ‘200% clear and proof is available….a meeting was arranged between Shehbaz sharif and Netanyahu”.

She also said she would demand logs from the foreign office.

The alleged meeting could not have taken place in Egypt since Netanyahu did not attend the peace summit in Sharm el Shaikh.

  • Sports Glasses vs. Prescription Sunglasses: Vision and Protection for Every Activity

Sports Glasses vs. Prescription Sunglasses: Vision and Protection for Every Activity

When it comes to eyewear, vision correction is only part of the story. Protection, comfort, and performance are just as important—especially for people who lead active lifestyles or spend time outdoors. Two types of eyewear that meet these needs are sports glasses and prescription sunglasses. While both offer clear vision and eye protection, they serve different purposes and environments. Let’s explore what makes each of them unique and how to choose the right one for your needs.

Sports Glasses: Built for Action and Impact

Sports glasses are designed specifically for athletic activities and physical performance. Unlike regular eyeglasses, they feature durable, impact-resistant materials, snug fits, and often wraparound designs to provide stability and protection during fast-paced movements.

    Key Features:

    1. Impact Resistance
Sports glasses are made from high-strength materials like polycarbonate, which can withstand shocks, collisions, and falls—ideal for contact sports, cycling, basketball, and more.

    2. Secure Fit
Adjustable straps, rubberized nose pads, and wraparound temples help keep the glasses in place during intense movement or sweat.

    3. Protection Against Debris
Full-coverage designs protect eyes from dust, wind, UV rays, and flying objects—especially useful in outdoor or team sports.

    4. Can Be Prescription-Ready
Many sports glasses can be fitted with prescription lenses, so you don’t have to compromise on vision while playing.

    Best For:

    • Athletes and fitness enthusiasts

    • Kids and teens in sports teams

    • People who need both eye protection and corrective vision during exercise

Style Tip: Choose a sleek wraparound frame for high-speed activities like cycling or running, or a padded frame for sports like basketball or racquetball.

Prescription Sunglasses: Style Meets Sun Protection

Prescription sunglasses combine vision correction with sun protection. They allow you to enjoy the outdoors with clear vision while shielding your eyes from harmful UV rays. Available in countless frame styles, these are ideal for everyday use, driving, beach trips, and outdoor adventures.

    Key Features:

    1. UV Protection
High-quality prescription sunglasses block 100% of UVA and UVB rays, preventing long-term sun damage to your eyes.

    2. Custom Lens Options
You can choose from polarized lenses (to reduce glare), photochromic lenses (which adjust to light), or tinted lenses in various colors for style or function.

    3. Fashion + Function
Prescription sunglasses are available in trendy and classic styles, so you don’t have to sacrifice aesthetics for performance.

    4. Perfect for Driving and Daily Use
Unlike clip-ons or transition lenses, prescription sunglasses offer full sun protection instantly, making them reliable for bright outdoor conditions.

    Best For:

    • Everyday outdoor use
    • Driving, walking, or relaxing in the sun
    • People who need prescription correction without switching glasses

Style Tip: Go for classic aviators or wayfarers for timeless appeal, or try sportier styles if you’re often active outdoors.

    Final Thoughts

Whether you’re an athlete or someone who enjoys time in the sun, both sports glasses and prescription sunglasses offer essential benefits tailored to your lifestyle. Sports glasses are all about safety, stability, and impact resistance for active environments, while prescription sunglasses combine vision correction with style and UV protection for everyday use.

  • CAS rejects Israel’s appeal against Indonesian ban

CAS rejects Israel’s appeal against Indonesian ban

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has rejected Israel’s appeal against Indonesia’s decision to bar its athletes from the upcoming World Gymnastics Championship, supporting the Southeast Asian nation’s stance over the Gaza genocide.

According to reports, Indonesia took a firm stand by refusing to allow Israeli athletes to participate in the World Gymnastics Championship, which will take place in the country from October 19 to 25.

The Indonesian government stated that it could not welcome athletes from a country responsible for the oppression of the Palestinian people. Officials explained that Indonesia would not provide a platform to any nation involved in acts that violate human rights.

Israel responded by filing a case with the Court of Arbitration for Sport, demanding that Indonesia be ordered to issue visas to its athletes or that the championship be relocated to another country.

However, CAS dismissed Israel’s requests, which sought either participation guarantees or the cancellation and relocation of the event. The court stated that international federations do not have the authority to pressure a sovereign nation into issuing visas.

More than 500 athletes from 79 countries are participating in the World Gymnastics Championship. This is not the first time Israel has faced restrictions in Indonesia. In 2023, Indonesia gave up hosting the ANOC Beach Games due to a dispute over Israel’s participation.

  • Indian journalist unimpressed by dance performances of ‘good star actors’ at HUM Awards

Indian journalist unimpressed by dance performances of ‘good star actors’ at HUM Awards

The star-studded 10th HUM Awards recently took place in Houston, Texas, on October 12, showcasing a glittering celebration of Pakistani television, fashion, and music.

The event saw a shining lineup of celebrities, including Shuja Asad, Ramsha Khan, Humayun Saeed, Mehwish Hayat, Ali Zafar, and Ali Haider, gracing the stage with various performances.

While the evening was marked by glamorous red carpet moments and vibrant performances, not everyone was impressed. Indian entertainment journalist and host, Faridoon Shahryar, shared his candid thoughts on the event’s dance performances and his critique has sparked conversations online.

Taking to Instagram, Shahryar praised the Pakistani drama industry for its strong storytelling and exceptional acting talent. However, he expressed disappointment over the dance segments at the awards show.

“I’ve been very bullish about many of the Pakistani dramas and the strong acting by many of the actors,” Shahryar said. “In fact, the number of good star actors in the drama industry is substantial. But I watched a few reels of the HUM Awards and my first reaction was that of immense boredom.”

The journalist emphasized that dancing as an art form demands “uninhibited energy” and suggested that the performances lacked conviction and flair.

“If you’re worried that someone somewhere is going to judge you, then there’s no point,” he continued. “Dancing requires you to lose yourself. If you can’t do that, don’t embarrass yourself with half-baked performances especially when Bollywood has set such high standards for dance.”

Encouraging Pakistani performers to either “stick to their strengths” or “go all the way” if stepping out of their comfort zone, Shahryar concluded with a humorous but pointed remark: “Haye koi naraz na ho jaye, to karo hi mat yaar.” (If you don’t want to offend anyone, then don’t do it at all.)

His comments section was soon filled with messages from Pakistani followers, many of whom agreed with his observations.

  • Alizeh Shah addresses rumors linking her to Jama Taqseem’s Nazeeha Zainab

Alizeh Shah addresses rumors linking her to Jama Taqseem’s Nazeeha Zainab

Actress Alizeh Shah has addressed and dismissed rumors on social media that newcomer Nazeeha Zainab of Jama Taqseem is her younger sister.

The speculation arose due to their resemblance, particularly after Nazeeha’s powerful performance as Sidra in the hit drama, which has been widely praised for its strong storyline and performances.

Setting the record straight, Alizeh took to Instagram to clarify that she has no siblings, humorously adding, “I don’t have a sister. My family knew they could only handle one Alizeh, so I’m the only girl.”

Alizeh went on to express her frustration over constant comparisons between rising stars and established actors, calling it discouraging. “People seriously need to stop comparing newcomers who are working hard to build their own identity,” she said, recalling her early struggles in the industry.

“I didn’t like it either when I started acting.”

“If you dislike me that much then why do I keep hearing there’s a new Alizeh Shah in town? What’s with this obsession? Get over me,” she said reflecting on how she’s often referenced in comparisons.

Responding to criticism about her changing appearance, she explained it might be due to exhaustion from overworking in the past. “Now that I’m happier, maybe my face is showing it,” she said.

She wrapped up her statement with some advice, saying people should focus on improving themselves rather than envying others. “If you take care of yourself properly, you won’t feel the need for plastic surgery,” said the actor who has also previously denied undergoing any cosmetic procedures.

In Jama Taqseem, Nazeeha’s character, according to her is “the voice of every girl facing harassment”.

“[…] those silenced by fear, ignored by elders or hiding their pain from parents. To all such girls, I say don’t suffer in silence. Speak up, trust your parents, and never hide what hurts you.”
