  • Madiha Imam once almost got arrested in Türkiye over fake currency

Madiha Imam once almost got arrested in Türkiye over fake currency

Pakistani actress Madiha Imam, known for her grace and on-screen innocence, recently shared a rather unexpected and humorous story from her past while appearing on Tabish Hashmi’s talk show.

The actress revealed how her first solo international trip almost led to her arrest in Türkiye.

Madiha said it happened during her first-ever flight and work trip abroad. After completing a shoot in Türkiye, she decided to explore the local culture and enjoy a famous Turkish fruit plate from a street vendor.

“I had just finished my shoot and thought I should explore a bit. I heard about the famous Turkish fruit plates and went to try one,” she said. After eating, she paid the street hawker. “As soon as I handed him the money, he looked at me in a strange way. Turkish people are so good-looking that even when they’re making a weird face, they still look beautiful,” she joked. “I thought maybe he was happy that I gave him a good tip.”

However, the situation quickly took a serious turn. The vendor returned with a police officer, both of whom began yelling at her. Madiha, who described herself as young and scared at the time, was confused and frightened.

“I kept saying, ‘I just had a fruit plate!’” she recalled. It turned out that the currency she used to pay for the fruit was fake. “Can you believe it? The fake money came from Pakistan. I had no idea,” she said with a laugh.

While she shared that she was saved by a kind-hearted Turkish driver who paid for her as he noticed Madiha was no fraud and a “good, frightened little girl”.

In another lighter story shared during the same show, Madiha talked about an adorable moment from her early career. During a live show years ago, while discussing general needs during Karachi’s rainy season and donation drives, she casually mentioned that she needed a microwave, but her parents weren’t buying one.

Soon after, a ticker ran across the screen during the live show, reading: ‘We’ve transferred Rs. 20,000 to your account, please buy the microwave.’ She added, smiling, “Let me be clear, I never got that money. But it was so sweet. Fans like that are truly heartwarming.”

Madiha Imam started her career as a VJ and gradually moved into acting. She made her drama debut in Ishq Mein Teray in 2013, and her natural acting and girl-next-door charm quickly won her a dedicated fan following. With roles in hit serials like Ishq Jalebi, Dushman-e-Jaan, and Muqaddar, and performances that balance emotional depth with relatability, she continues to be one of Pakistan’s most beloved television stars.

Amin dominated the three-match series, scoring 293 runs at a stunning average of 293 to finish as the top run-scorer. She hit unbeaten innings of 121 and 122 in the first two matches, helping Pakistan post competitive totals.

In the last ODI, she guided the chase with a steady half-century to secure a consolation win and end South Africa’s winning streak.

OpenAI to integrate Canva, Spotify, other apps into ChatGPT

OpenAI has started transforming ChatGPT into a platform that integrates multiple third-party apps, aiming to make the AI chatbot a fully conversational app store.

The company is adding popular services such as Booking.com, Canva, Expedia and Spotify to ChatGPT, which means users will be able complete tasks using these services without leaving the chat or clicking external links.

For example, users will be able to create a new Spotify playlist, plan a trip through Booking.com or design content on Canva directly within ChatGPT through a single prompt.

OpenAI says it plans to expand the list of third-party partners in the coming months and help developers build their own apps for ChatGPT. However, the company has not yet clarified how developers will earn revenue through the platform.

Each time users connect a new app, ChatGPT will request permission and inform them about what data will be shared.

In some cases, users may also need to link their app accounts for access.

  • Ex-Tamasha contestant Zainab Raja slams Junaid Niazi for misogyny

Ex-Tamasha contestant Zainab Raja slams Junaid Niazi for misogyny

The controversial reality show Tamasha Season 4 finds itself embroiled in yet another social media fight. Former contestant Zainab Raja, who was recently eliminated from the show, has publicly called out Tamasha Season 2 participant Junaid Niazi for making derogatory and misogynistic remarks about fellow contestant Maham Mirza in his reaction vlogs.

Taking to her official social media account, Zainab posted a video message in which she criticized Junaid’s commentary, accusing him of using her and Maham’s names for clout due to low viewership on his YouTube channel.

“You’re clearly not getting views on YouTube, so you thought you’d take advantage of this trending situation. I get it,” she said. “But don’t stoop so low as to shame women just to get noticed. You’re saying Maham isn’t even matric pass and won’t get work. Who gave you the right to say that?”

Zainab also reminded Junaid of his own controversial past during Tamasha Season 2, referring to an incident where he allegedly mocked a fellow contestant with dwarfism and used abusive language. “You’re not the same person who once grabbed someone by the collar and hurled abuse at them, are you? That’s the reason you didn’t win, Aruba did,” she added, referencing the finale of Season 2.

She further stated, “We’re out here owning up to our mistakes in interviews. Meanwhile, you’ve become a street-level reviewer, judging people based on a heavily edited 1.5-hour episode out of a 14-hour shoot. How do you think you know what’s actually going on?”

Addressing his support for fellow contestant Saif, Zainab clarified, “It’s fine to support Saif, a lot of people do but he’s not out here shaming others. Even he would be embarrassed by the kind of things you’re saying once he comes out.”

Zainab also took a direct shot at Junaid’s character, saying, “If we’re the rude, loud ones, as you say, then what’s your excuse? Or maybe this is who you’ve always been. That’s why you were eliminated.”

The video ended with Zainab warning him that once the show is over, no one in the industry will take his opinions seriously. “Directors and producers won’t care what you think. You’re dependent on them, not the other way around.”

Junaid dismissed Maham as “no one” in a recent vlog and accused her of “making false allegations just to get content.” Speaking about another contestant, Kanwal, he stated that she “gives people opportunities to make accusations.”

The feud has sparked fresh criticism of the show’s culture, with many netizens questioning the behavior of both current and former contestants, as well as the direction in which Tamasha as a brand is heading.

  • ‘She is crazy’; Social media shocked at Fiza Ali’s confession of spiking her team’s food with medicine

‘She is crazy’; Social media shocked at Fiza Ali’s confession of spiking her team’s food with medicine

Fiza Ali is finding out that social media is not very forgiving when it comes to questionable confessions, however old the statement may be.

The outspoken television host has confessed that she once served paye (trotters) spiked with multiple medications to almost her entire TV team out of anger.

A video clip of the confession has gone viral from an interview she gave to Ayesha Jahanzaib, which led to an outburst by social media users who have condemned her actions, demanding legal action be taken against her.

In the now-viral video, Fiza revealed that she took the step in a fit of rage after a dispute with her show’s staff, which left her upset and angry at the team. “My team was repeatedly asking me to cook paye for them and I did but added a mix of medications to the dish.”

She stated that the paye was spiked with painkillers like Panadol, anti-anxiety pills like Xanax, cough syrups, and other drugs, some of which she even sourced from outside.

Fiza explained that she served the medicated paye to the entire team except for one or two individuals and left the venue as soon as they began eating.

“Later, I received calls that several team members were vomiting and some were in a bad shape,” she added. Her ex-husband Fawad was also contacted and warned that a police case could be filed against his ex-wife.

According to Fiza, people told Fawad that some individuals were in critical condition and had been put on oxygen in the hospital but she claims that nothing of the sort actually happened.

Despite her confession of mixing numerous medications into the food, she said no one faced any serious health issues. Everyone recovered after resting for a few days.

This video clip is from an interview she gave two years ago. After the clip resurfaced online, many on social media are demanding that action be taken against the TV host.

“This is so messed up,” one user wrote, while another added: “Aggar koi mar jata to? (What if someone had died?)”

“Where is the basic sense of humanity? This behavior reflects passive aggression and she is expressing it so openly with no sense of accountability,” one user wrote.

One user wrote that the spiking of edibles is a  “criminal offence” and demanded that legal action be taken against her. Another netizen said: “Is she mentally unstable ho sakta kisi ka immune system bht weak ho ya kisi medicine se Allergy ho reaction hoskta kisi ki jan b sakti thi what’s funny somebody please check her she is crazy.”

  • Jinn Ki Shadi Unki Shadi: A supernatural ride with chills, suspense, and side-splitting comedy

Jinn Ki Shadi Unki Shadi: A supernatural ride with chills, suspense, and side-splitting comedy

If there’s one drama that has managed to blend horror, comedy, and suspense with perfect madness, it’s Jinn Ki Shadi Unki Shadi. Episode 9 has outdone itself and if you’ve been following the show, you’ll know exactly what I mean when I say this drama is not just a story, it’s an experience.

    STORYLINE

Directed by veteran director Saife Hasan and written by the witty Syed Nabeel, Jinn Ki Shadi Unki Shadi is a masterclass in sharp storytelling. It tells the bizarrely entertaining story of Zara (Sidra Niazi) and Asad (Arsalan Naseer), a couple who move into a haunted haveli after the sudden death of Asad’s father. The catch? They can only inherit the Rs. 800 million property if they survive six months living in the haunted mansion and get Asad’s younger brother Ali (Wahaj Ali) married during the period. And, of course, they do it, not because they’re brave, but because Zara convinces Asad to risk it all for the money.

They arrive at the mansion and the house is very much alive with the presence of some highly vengeful jinns, including sister jinns, Chamki (Tamkinat Mansoor) and Khushi (Sehar Khan), Chamki’s husband Aazar (Syed Jibran). These aren’t your average traditional spirits either, they’re modernized. They’ve evolved with the times, going so far as to jam cell signals in the house. Yes, jinns using jammers… now that’s something new and clever from the writer.

Other characters that play a central role include Ali’s friend Nadia (Romaisa Khan), who has feelings for him and visits the family at the mansion with her mother, Farida (Nadia Afghan).

Asad and Zara are also accompanied by their staff member Changaiz Chacha (Irfan Motiwali). Changaiz Chacha gives them the four amulets that Asad’s father had passed down to them for protection from the jinn. One for each member of the family and one for him. The amulets had to be rotated between other characters when protection was required, which left other characters vulnerable to the jinn. We saw this take place in previous episodes when jinns entered Changaiz chacha’s body to make him a dancing lady, totally opposite to his character and Nadia, who was on verge to end her life.

The tension the amulets bring and who gets them is a brilliant tension-building mechanism. And it doesn’t stop there. Asad and Ali’s father’s old diary reveals dark secrets. Jinns killed their ancestors and trapped their souls in a mysterious basement room. Now, Ali is seeing those ancestors in his dreams, being called towards that room and the suspense is building and it’s hard to wait to find out what will happen next.

The romantic subplot is also heating up in this haunted chaos. The single jinn sister Khushi is madly in love with Ali, to the point of obsession. While Nadia is also nursing her own one-sided love for Ali, it’s clear that Ali has a soft spot for Khushi (even though only he can see her). The love triangle is juicy enough on its own, but adds the supernatural twist that Khushi is actually a jinn, destined to marry Jazim, which she is not interested in. In one of the scenes khushi gave me all that Aashiq Bhootni vibe that gave me chills.

    CHARACTERS THAT KILLED IT

Let’s start with the exceptional performance of Asad (Arsalan Naseer) in episode 9 aired on Monday. The man has truly come into his own, showing an impeccable sense of comic timing and expressive delivery that had me in fits of laughter. If there was ever any doubt about his ability to lead a comedy, this episode shuts it down for good. He should seriously consider focusing on comedy more, as his energy lights up the screen in a way few actors can match.

On the other hand, Zara (Sidra Niazi) had a bit of a slow start earlier in the show, but she’s now embodying her character with remarkable flair. Zara is meant to be a woman who thinks she’s highly intelligent, but ends up doing hilariously silly things, and Sidra is portraying that contrast to perfection. Her character feels alive, and her chemistry with Arsalan as his wife is only getting stronger.

And how can we not mention Changaiz Chacha (Irfan Motiwali)? Though he wasn’t largely present in Episode 9, his performance in Episode 8 is hilarious. The scene with Farida (Nadia Afgan), who was unconscious after eating poisonous chicken from their mansion, where he sneakily takes the taweez, had me laughing so hard, my family thought something was wrong with me. His comedic timing and eccentricity are priceless, and his role is clearly a vital part of the ensemble cast.

EPISODE 9 AND WHAT TO EXPECT NEXT

Episode 9 had several stand-out scenes. The one where Asad and Zara are chasing Ali was a masterstroke, a perfect blend of comedy, suspense, and chaos. It was shot brilliantly, with each actor in sync, and the way the scene weaves in Ali’s haunted visions after reading the diary added real depth to the storyline.

Another hilarious scene was Chamki (Tamkinat Mansoor) tossing Zara’s phone, not just for laughs, but to show how the jinns are blocking tech as Zara managed to record Ali talking with Khushi. In the scene, khushi was only visible to Ali in human form but Zara was not able to see her and the phone also showed Ali talking to the air.

The jinn characters also get their emotional arcs. One touching (and strangely relatable!) moment showed Chamki and Aazar (Syed Jibran) lamenting how hard they’re trying to drive the humans out, but it’s just not working. Even the jinns are tired.

Now, with Nadia and her mother like moving into the haunted haveli, tension is only ramping up. What will happen when Chamki and Aazar set their sights on them? Will Khushi reveal her true jinn identity to Ali, and how will he react? Can Ali decode the mysterious visions of his deceased father and find out what’s really hidden in that basement room?

These are the questions keeping me on edge and I can’t wait for tonight’s episode.

The writing of the drama is sharp, the performances are improving with every episode, and the direction makes the entire package incredibly watchable. If you’re not watching this horror-comedy, you’re seriously missing out on one of the most unique dramas on air right now.

The show airs on Monday and Tuesday at 8 pm on Hum TV.

  • Marquez ruled out of Australia, Malaysia MotoGP after shoulder injury

Marquez ruled out of Australia, Malaysia MotoGP after shoulder injury

Spanish rider Marc Marquez will miss the upcoming Australia and Malaysia MotoGP races after fracturing his shoulder during the Indonesia Grand Prix on Sunday.

Marquez was thrown off his Ducati at high speed on the first lap at the Mandalika circuit in Lombok after Aprilia’s Marco Bezzecchi collided with him. Both riders walked away from the crash, but Marquez was seen holding his right shoulder.

According to Ducati, the 32-year-old suffered “a fracture at the base of the coracoid process and a ligament injury” in his right shoulder. His medical team in Madrid has decided on a conservative treatment plan, recommending rest and immobilization until full recovery.

The injury rules Marquez out of the Australian Grand Prix (October 17–19) and Malaysian Grand Prix (October 24–26). His return will depend on weekly medical evaluations, with two more races remaining this season in Portugal (November 7–9) and Valencia (November 14–16).

“Fortunately, the injury isn’t severe, but it’s important to respect the recovery timeline,” Marquez said. “My goal is to return before the end of the season, but only when I’m fully fit. The priority now is to recover completely.”

Marquez, who clinched his seventh world title last week in Japan, has faced several injury setbacks during his career, including a serious arm fracture in 2020.

  • Pakistan considering demolition of New York’s Roosevelt Hotel – one of its ‘most valuable foreign assets’: reports

Pakistan considering demolition of New York’s Roosevelt Hotel – one of its ‘most valuable foreign assets’: reports

Pakistan is assessing multiple options for the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City, including the potential demolition of the iconic property, as part of its efforts to meet obligations under the $7 billion International Monetary Fund (IMF) loan programme, Bloomberg has reported.

One of Pakistan’s most valuable foreign assets is the century-old hotel named for former US President Theodore Roosevelt, which is situated in midtown Manhattan.

The hotel, which was purchased in 2000 and contains over 1,000 rooms, was shut down in 2020 as a result of significant financial losses. It has since been temporarily used as a migrant shelter.

The government approved a “transaction structure for the Roosevelt Hotel” in July, opting to pursue a joint venture model in order to maximize the asset’s long-term value rather than selling it outright.

One of the options being considered is tearing down the hotel to build a skyscraper, Muhammad Ali, the prime minister’s adviser on privatization, told Bloomberg.

“The government is keen on a joint venture where Pakistan will contribute the land and the partner will bring in the equity,” Ali said.

“The other option is to retain the hotel if it makes economic sense. We will have clarity in the next few months after finalising the JV partner and conducting market sounding.”

In accordance with IMF regulations, the federal government is also proceeding with the restructuring or privatization of state-owned businesses.

According to Bloomberg, some of the biggest business organizations in the nation are interested in purchasing Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), which may be the first company to be privatized.

The airline reported a pre-tax profit in the first half of 2025, its first in almost 20 years, and Ali projected that an investment of roughly $500 million would be needed to turn it around.

Pakistan is now in the process of appointing advisors to oversee the Roosevelt Hotel sale. Seven groups, including Citigroup Inc., CBRE Group Inc., and Savills PLC, have submitted bids; a final decision is expected later this month.

The hotel has been referred to as “the new Ellis Island” due to its historical significance as a migrant intake point, according to Bloomberg.
