  • ‘Aleema Khan orchestrating abusive campaign against my dead parents’

‘Aleema Khan orchestrating abusive campaign against my dead parents’

Former member of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Sher Afzal Marwat on Friday levelled a series of allegations against the sister of former premier Imran Khan, Aleema Khan, accusing her of orchestrating a trolling campaign against him and an abusive campaign against his late parents through social media.

“I was nominated in 57 FIRs [First Information Reports], two of my houses were demolished and I endured jail. Yesterday, my dead parents were subjected to an abusive campaign,” Marwat said while appearing on a private media outlet, adding that all this was being done despite all the sacrifices he had made for the party.

He alleged that Aleema was orchestrating the trolling and abusive campaign as “she is the social media boss”.

Claiming that Aleema’s behaviour had always been “bossy” towards party leaders, Marwat said that PTI members also suffered “extremely inhumane treatment” at her hands.

He further claimed that when he complained to the PTI founder about Aleema’s behaviour, Imran, in the presence of 29 party bigwigs, said that “nobody will answer Aleema’s phone as she has nothing to do with party matters”.

“Following the complaint, she openly came against me,” Marwat said, adding since then the PTI social media team as well as supporters like Shahbaz Gill and Imran Riaz Khan had been trolling him.

Recalling an incident of Aleema’s alleged bossy attitude, Marwat said that during Ramzan, she summoned a party meeting at the Central Secretariat. “Barrister Gohar told Aleema that he had to go attend an iftar, to which she said, ‘You can’t even move’.”

Commenting on Aleema recently being barred from visiting her brother, Marwat argued that party Secretary General Salman Akram Raja and Aleema Khan have had the most meetings with Khan. “Just because they refused to meet twice, they act like it’s the end of the world,” he said.

Marwat had earlier this month also made headlines for claiming that PTI could not stage protests as it had been weakened politically, publicly and ideologically since last April.

“We wasted last year, which was the year of protests and practical work. From April of last year to this April, PTI has been weakened ideologically, politically and publicly. We are not in a position to stage a protest,” he had said.

Questioning what he called the “silence of PTI leaders” after giving hope to people that a protest would be staged right after Eid, Marwat said the PTI knew there was nobody to lead the protest.

Nasir also shared that Hania speaking Punjabi in the film will be a pleasant surprise for the audience. “Everyone will be shocked by how well she speaks Punjabi. She has truly impressed everyone with her performance,” he said.

  • Hasan Ali sets new wickets record for PSL

Hasan Ali sets new wickets record for PSL

Karachi Kings fast bowler Hasan Ali has achieved a major milestone in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) by becoming the tournament’s all-time leading wicket-taker.

The record-breaking moment came during the PSL 10 match between Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators on Friday. The match was played at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi, where the Kings delivered a strong performance.

Batting first, Karachi Kings posted a total of 175 runs for the loss of seven wickets. In reply, Quetta Gladiators struggled to chase the target and managed only 119 runs in their 20 overs, losing nine wickets. Karachi Kings secured a dominant 56-run victory.

Hasan Ali played a key role in the win with an impressive bowling spell, taking three wickets. During the match, he dismissed Quetta’s Hassan Nawaz for just one run — a dismissal that took Hasan Ali’s overall tally in the PSL to 116 wickets in 84 innings, making him the highest wicket-taker in the league’s history.

He surpassed the previous record held by Wahab Riaz, who had taken 113 wickets in 87 innings.

The 30-year-old pacer has been in outstanding form in PSL 10, claiming eight wickets in just three matches so far.

With two wins and one loss in their first three matches, Karachi Kings currently sit in third place on the points table with four points.

  • VIDEO: Ashwin silences panellist for mentioning MS Dhoni’s name

VIDEO: Ashwin silences panellist for mentioning MS Dhoni’s name

Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has shifted focus over the years. He was once a cricketer who made YouTube videos on the side, but now he has become a full-time content creator who plays cricket part-time.

Ashwin’s YouTube channel has gained a lot of popularity, but it has also created some controversies, especially when discussing his current IPL team, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

In a recent video, a guest on his channel started praising various cricket captains, including MS Dhoni, the iconic CSK captain. The panellist said, “Leadership is very important. Leaders like Sanju, Shreyas Iyer, and Thala Dhoni really stand out.”

However, Ashwin quickly stepped in and reminded the panellist not to talk about Dhoni or CSK. “Sshhh. Ssshhhh,” he said mid-conversation, clearly trying to avoid another controversy.

The guest tried to explain that he was giving his opinion as an audience member, but Ashwin made it clear, saying, “Such topics are off-limits. Even when I was part of Rajasthan Royals, I never spoke publicly about the team.”

The controversy began when former South African analyst and ex-RCB staff member Prasanna Agoram criticised CSK for including Afghan spinner Noor Ahmad in the squad, especially when experienced Indian spinners like Jadeja and Ashwin were already available. This led to further questions being directed at CSK head coach Stephen Fleming.

But Fleming brushed off the issue completely. “I have no idea. I didn’t even know he had a channel. That’s irrelevant,” he said in a press conference.

Earthquake jolts Lahore, Islamabad, parts of KP

A strong earthquake on Saturday shook Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Lower Dir, Upper Dir, Shabqadar, Mohmand, Nowshera, Malakand and Bajaur spreading fear among people who fled their homes and offices, reciting prayers.

In KP, strong tremors were felt in Peshawar, Mardan, Mohmand, Shabqadar, Lower Dir, Malakand, Bajaur, Nowshera, Dir Bala, Swat, Swabi, Chitral, and Gilgit. In Azad Kashmir, tremors were also experienced in the Neelum Valley’s Athmuqam area.

Several parts of Punjab including Okara, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad, Toba Tek Singh and Chiniot also were shaken.

The tremors, the third in a week, occurred at 11:47 am and caused widespread panic, especially in high-rise buildings, prompting occupants to evacuate quickly in fear.

As of now, no casualties or property damage have been reported. However, authorities are closely monitoring the situation and assessing any potential impact.

According to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC), the earthquake had a magnitude of 5.9 and a depth of 94 kilometres. The epicentre was located near the Afghanistan–Tajikistan border region, at latitude 36.21 N and longitude 71.34 E.

Meanwhile, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported a magnitude 5.7 earthquake, 53 kilometres south-southwest of Ashkasham in Afghanistan, near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

“It was brief but a powerful one. I felt the entire bed shake and had to quickly run out of our house with my family,” said Shahjahan Khurram, a resident of Islamabad. Ayesha Rehman, working in Blue Area, shared that people in her office rushed out in panic as soon as the jolt was felt.

The latest tremors come just days after a 5.5-magnitude quake on April 12 and a 5.3 on April 16 shook many of the same regions, making it the third incident within a week.

For residents of Islamabad, this earthquake also follows the recent havoc caused by a heavy hailstorm on April 16, which left a trail of destruction including smashed car windows, broken tree branches, and damaged solar panels.

Pakistan is currently witnessing extreme weather conditions, with hailstorms and rains in parts of Punjab and Islamabad, while Karachi and South Punjab continue to face heatwave-like temperatures.

  • TikToker Kashif Zameer arrested after viral police uniform video

TikToker Kashif Zameer arrested after viral police uniform video

TikToker Kashif Zameer was arrested by Punjab police on Friday for allegedly disrespecting the police.

The case was filed after a video on TikTok showed Zameer giving a man wearing a police uniform a tray of money at a wedding. That man was later confirmed to be driver constable Khurram Shahzad.

According to the police report, when a case was filed against Shahzad, Zameer tried to defend him. He posted another TikTok video where Shahzad’s clothes were changed to plain black shalwar kameez using Artificial Intelligence (AI). Zameer claimed that the police uniform in the original video had been edited.

However, during an earlier investigation, Shahzad confirmed that he was indeed wearing the police uniform in the original video at the wedding.

According to the FIR, both Zameer and Shahzad disrespected the police and spread false information using AI. Charges were filed under PECA’s electronic forgery and spoofing laws, along with other sections of the Pakistan Penal Code.

The case has been declared “high profile” by the Punjab Prosecutor General, Syed Farhad Ali Shah. He has asked the investigation officer to bring all records for further inquiry.

In a video post on Instagram, Zameer said that the man in the video was actually his personal guard, not a police officer. He claimed that “enemies” used AI to edit the footage and falsely show him supporting a police officer because he had earlier spoken in favor of YouTuber Rajab Butt.

Zameer added that he respects the Punjab police and plans to fight the case in the high court.

  • The Sandman Returns: Netflix Sets Final Season Release Date

The Sandman Returns: Netflix Sets Final Season Release Date

It’s official—the wait is over! After months of speculation and anticipation, The Sandman returns for its final season on Netflix. Fans of the iconic comic-turned-series can finally rejoice as the long-awaited release date is announced. If you’re one of the millions captivated by the world of Morpheus, the Lord of Dreams, this next chapter promises to be both exhilarating and bittersweet. The Sandman Returns is more than just a continuation; it’s a culmination of everything we’ve come to love about the show: the complex characters, the rich mythology, and the surreal storytelling. But with the announcement of the final season’s release, one question remains—what will be in store for fans when the final curtain falls?

A Recap of The Sandman Series:

Before diving into the final season, it’s worth looking back at how The Sandman became the cultural force it is today. Originally a critically acclaimed comic series by Neil Gaiman, The Sandman is known for its deep exploration of dreams, myths, and the human psyche. The story follows Morpheus, or Dream, as he moves through a world where reality and fantasy seamlessly intertwine.

When Netflix announced a live-action adaptation, fans were intrigued but cautious. Could such a complex tale translate to the screen? Thankfully, the answer was yes. With a stellar The Sandman cast—including Tom Sturridge as Dream and Gwendoline Christie as Lucifer—the series stayed true to Gaiman’s vision, offering a visually stunning and emotionally rich experience for longtime readers and newcomers alike.

The transition from comic to screen wasn’t without its challenges, but Netflix handled it with care. From surreal visuals to atmospheric storytelling, The Sandman came to life in extraordinary fashion. Now, with the final season on the horizon, the series is poised to close its story in a truly memorable way.

Plot and Key Storylines of the Final Season:

The final season of The Sandman is set to deliver high-stakes drama, deep philosophical themes, and intricate dreamscapes. One of the most gripping arcs will be the continuation of The Sandman Serial Killer storyline—a chilling thread that’s grown more intense as the series progresses. This subplot explores the darker facets of human nature, forcing Dream to reckon with the consequences of his actions and their impact on those around him.

Expect intense confrontations and emotional revelations, particularly involving the other Endless siblings. Richly developed side characters will continue to add depth and emotional weight to the narrative. As the stakes rise, Morpheus’ path to redemption will take center stage. Whether he can balance the duties of his realm with the demands of the waking world remains a question only this final chapter can answer.

The Sandman Cast: Who’s Coming Back?

When The Sandman returns for its final season, it brings back a familiar cast that fans have grown attached to over the past seasons. Tom Sturridge will reprise his role as Morpheus, the enigmatic and often brooding ruler of the Dreaming. His portrayal of Dream has been widely praised for capturing the character’s complexity and deep internal struggles.

Other beloved members of The Sandman cast will also return, including Gwendoline Christie as the fierce and powerful Lucifer Morningstar and Charles Dance as the wise and commanding Roderick Burgess. But it’s not just the familiar faces that will make this season stand out; new characters are set to be introduced, adding even more layers to the already rich narrative.

The addition of fresh talent brings new dynamics to the series, keeping things exciting for both longtime fans and newcomers. Whether it’s the mysterious new characters or the deeper exploration of existing ones, the cast is sure to leave a lasting impression.

    The Sandman Movie: What’s Next?

While fans are focused on the final season of The Sandman, many are already wondering if a The Sandman movie could be on the horizon. Given the success of the Netflix series, it’s not entirely out of the question. Could The Sandman’s deep world-building and intricate mythology make the leap to a full-length feature film?

Rumors have circulated about the possibility of a The Sandman movie, with some speculating that the success of the show might lead to a broader cinematic universe. However, Neil Gaiman has been cautious about such developments. As of now, no official announcements have been made regarding a The Sandman movie. That said, the show’s success on Netflix and its immense popularity could very well open the door for future adaptations.

What to Expect from Season 2 and Beyond:

As the final season nears, anticipation is high. What comes after the last episode? While this season promises to resolve major plot points, spin-offs or side stories remain a real possibility. The Sandman’s world is vast, with rich characters and untold stories—its journey may not end here.

Fans are eager for deeper dives into the Endless, especially Death and Delirium, whose layered personalities continue to captivate. Neil Gaiman’s broader universe also holds plenty of material for future adaptations.

If The Sandman has shown anything, it’s that its world has lasting power. Whether through spin-offs, films, or new series, its legacy is just beginning.

    Conclusion:

As The Sandman returns for its final season, it marks the end of an era for one of Netflix’s most groundbreaking fantasy series. With stunning visuals, masterful storytelling, and a memorable cast, The Sandman has won hearts worldwide. This emotional and thrilling conclusion promises to tie up Dream’s journey while hinting at future stories within its vast universe.

For fans of both The Sandman comic and the series, the final season is a must-watch. Whether drawn in by the The Sandman Serial Killer arc or the rich character development, there’s something for everyone in this powerful finale.

As the story unfolds, The Sandman stands as more than just a show—it’s a cultural touchstone, reflecting our dreams, fears, and deepest truths. Don’t miss its epic conclusion on Netflix.
