In an interview with Public Digital, Ihsanullah said, “I will no longer play franchise cricket, and if I live, you will never see me in the PSL again.”
When the host asked Ihsanullah about Ali Tareen, who was known to support him, Ihsanullah responded, “No one has contacted me. Ali Tareen moves on to others when he finds someone new. He was supporting my talent, not me.”
Ihsanullah added, “There are still four months until the next PSL season, and even now, no one has shown faith in me. If I am not trusted here, I might leave Pakistan and move to Dubai or England.”
Ihsanullah represented Multan Sultans in the 2023 PSL season. His impressive performance led to his debut for the Pakistan national team in an ODI against New Zealand in April 2023. However, after an injury, he was unable to play the second match.

For actress Nawal Saeed, happiness lies in embracing the freedom of a single life.
Appearing as a guest on Zabardast, hosted by Wasi Shah, she discussed her personal and professional life.
When questioned about her view on marriage, she responded, “I don’t have any plans to tie the knot right now. I am enjoying the freedom of a single life. Whenever I decide to get married, I will inform my fans and the public first.”
Nawal Saeed also spoke about being born and raised in Karachi and having a deep passion for music, which inspired her to train as a singer and musician. However, she eventually decided not to pursue it further.
“I started as a singer and musician as my father had a passion for music, but I couldn’t sustain it”, she revealed, adding that her younger brother is also musically inclined and is an excellent guitarist.
When asked about her career journey, the Sitam actress responded, “After I left music, I auditioned for an advertisement at an agency. Once I was selected, I began modelling, and later, I transitioned into acting.”
Nawal also addressed a previous statement she had made about falling in love with a co-star during the shooting of a romantic drama.“Sometimes, while filming, it happens that you develop feelings for your co-star. It happened to me, and he also fell for me,” she shared but did not reveal the actor’s name, making it clear that after the project ended, she neither looked back nor maintained any contact with him.
“I never worked with him again, and I can’t reveal his name,” she stated.
Earlier, actress Nawal Saeed was appeared as a guest on Momin Saqib’s show ‘Had Kar Di’ where she completely shocked audiences by revealing she has recieved flirtatious messages from Pakistani cricketers.
The actress said that she had not taken screenshots but still had the messages in her phone, hilariously pointing out the absurdity in the matter:
“You’re representing Pakistan and you have a blue tick on your profile. How are you randomly messaging any girl and praising her?” Nawal laughed, further adding that this was not the right thing to do.
When Momin asked what the actress says to the cricketers, Saeed said she tells them she will pray for them. “You are representing Pakistan with your green shirts. Please don’t do this it looks weird.”
Nawal did not reveal the names of the cricketers who had sent her messages.
Senior journalist and analyst Mansoor Ali Khan has quoted sources as saying that former Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) director general (DG) Lieutenant General (r) Faiz Hameed was in contact with 51 politicians, including leaders of the now ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), after his retirement.
In a video on his YouTube channel, Khan claimed that as per the data recovered from the phone of the former spymaster, who is currently facing court martial proceedings under multiple charges including political involvement, of the 51 politicians, 60 percent belonged to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) while the rest belonged to other political parties, including the PML-N.
On names of the PML-N leaders in contact with Hameed, the journalist said sources had refused to disclose their names, however, some leaders of the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) were also in contact with the former ISI chief.
Khan also revealed details of alleged kickbacks received by Hameed. “He had a park built in front of his property in Chakwal with Bahria Town’s assistance…. he only paid Rs24 lacs rather than the demanded Rs2 crores.”
The journalist quoted sources as claiming that secret documents were also found on the former intelligence chief’s devices, which he kept with him even after retirement.
The military arrested Faiz Hameed in August last year on a petition filed by Top City Housing Society’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Kanwar Moeez Khan in the Supreme Court (SC). In the complaint, Hameed was accused of being involved in land grabbing besides stealing diamonds and gold jewellery during a raid.
In September, it was reported that court martial proceedings against the former spymaster had been initiated based on “concrete evidence” following a detailed probe. Addressing a press conference in Rawalpindi, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry had said the Pakistan Army had no political agenda as it believed in self-accountability.
In a 48-minute media briefing, the ISPR chief had spoken at length about Hameed’s trial as an example of the military’s self-accountability.
On December 10, 2024, the ex-spymaster was formally indicted on multiple allegations, including engaging in political activities, the ISPR reported.
Hameed was charged with engaging in political activities, violations of the Official Secret Act detrimental to the safety and interest of the state, misuse of authority and government resources and causing wrongful losses to individual(s), the military’s media wing had said.
A law professor at Columbia University in the USA claims to have been forced to take early retirement because of her pro-Palestinian advocacy.
Katherine Franke, who was serving as a tenured law professor at the Ivy League university, has said in a statement, “Effective today, I have reached an agreement with Columbia University that relieves me of my obligations to teach or participate in faculty governance after serving on the Columbia law faculty for 25 years.”
“While the university may call this change in my status “retirement,” it should be more accurately understood as a termination dressed up in more palatable terms. I have come to the view that the Columbia University administration has created such a toxic and hostile environment for legitimate debate around the war in Israel and Palestine that I can no longer teach or conduct research.”
This prompted academics, lawyers, and activists to raise their voices in support of Katherine Franke.
Francesca Albanese, the United Nations special rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territories, commented that Franke has become “Another victim of the pro-Israelism that is turning universities, and other spaces of public life, into places of obscurantism, discrimination and oppression”.
Fellow professor at Rutgers University and human rights lawyer Noura Erakat, called the university’s mistreatment of Professor Franke “egregious”.
“She has resigned after 25 years of an illustrious academic career and commitment to her students because she decided there is nothing to return to – it is far too hostile,” Erakat posted on X (former Twitter).
However, a University spokesperson states that a complaint had been filed [against Franke] “alleging discriminatory harassment in violation of our policies. An investigation was conducted, and a finding was issued.”
The same allegations were cited in Franke’s resignation in which she observed that last February, two of her colleagues filed a complaint against her with the university’s Office of Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action, blaming her of harassing Israeli members of Columbia University in one of her comments to the news outlet Democracy Now!
Notably, in the interview, Franke spoke about the safety of Palestinian students on campus. “It’s something that many of us were concerned about because so many of those Israeli students, who then come to the Columbia campus, are coming right out of their military service. And they’ve been known to harass Palestinian and other students on our campus.”
The matter of her statement was also raised in a US congressional hearing back in April 2024 during students’ university encampments asking for universities to divest from Israeli companies in the wake of the genocide in Gaza. Congresswoman Elise Stefanik asked then-Columbia President Minouche Shafik what disciplinary actions had been taken against Professor Franke, who had commented on Israeli students on campus. The congresswoman also attributed the remark “all Israeli students who served in the [Israeli army] are dangerous and shouldn’t be on campus” to Franke, an exaggeration.
In her resignation, the law professor quoted, “President Shafik responded, ‘I agree with you that those comments are completely unacceptable and discriminatory.’ President Shafik was aware at that time that Congresswoman Stefanik’s summary of my comments was grossly inaccurate and misleading, yet she made no effort to correct the Congresswoman’s deliberate mischaracterisation of my comments.”
The Columbia University professor even recounted that she faced harassment, including death threats, after the hearing.
It merits a mention that Shafik stepped down as the university president in August due to his mishandling of students’ protests.
Meanwhile, an external law firm was hired to investigate Professor Franke’s comments, and the findings revealed that her remarks violated the university’s Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action policies.
In a sweet display of optimism, Professor Franke had hoped in an interview, “Inshallah, I will be exonerated.”
“Upon reflection, it became clear to me that Columbia had become such a hostile environment, that I could no longer serve as an active member of the faculty,” Franke said in her statement.
“Rather than defend the role of a university in a democracy, in fostering critical debate, research, and learning around matters of vital public concern … Columbia University’s leadership has demonstrated a willingness to collaborate with the very enemies of our academic mission.”

Islamabad is struggling to stop losses arising from the national grid as low recovery rates and electricity theft run rampant. According to Profit, inefficiencies in power distribution companies (Discos) are tacking up a staggering 600 billion rupees in debt, worsening the circular debt problem.
This spells bad news for Pakistan as circular debt has now surged to a whopping 2.467 trillion rupees. The worst part is that most of the Discos are government owned which means that the national exchequer suffers as a result of inefficiencies in power distribution.
Though Discos claim that they have a respectable recovery rate hovering around 92.5 percent, the ugly truth is that they still add approximately 50 billion rupees to the circular debt every month.
The rising debt levels come at a terrible time for Pakistan which is struggling to meet the tough fiscal conditions set by the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The federal government is ultimately responsible for the financial losses incurred by the discos.
This is because they fall under the administrative umbrella of Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO) which the Ministry of Energy is responsible for. Lawmakers in Islamabad are perhaps growing uneasy as outstanding dues from both private and public sector consumers have risen by over 69 percent to a staggering two trillion rupees in FY 2025.
Outstanding dues stood at under 1.2 trillion rupees in 2021 and since then, an upward trend has been witnessed when it comes to national grid users not paying their dues. According to the data, receivables have grown by 16.79 percent which have strained the system even further.
The biggest culprits in the growth of outstanding dues are large industrial unit owners and notable political figures. Put together, they owe a combined value of over one trillion rupees as of FY 2024. With such a small segment of the population being responsible for approximately 50 percent of outstanding dues, some analysts are squarely placing the blame on this privileged segment of society.
An official working closely with Disco operations revealed that the distributors have resorted to underhanded methods to improve recovery rates. According to Profit, the estimated 15 percent recovery show per year is a direct result of overbilling. This has significantly eroded the trust of everyone using the national power grid.
If Discos are left to their own devices and are not subjected to significant structural reforms, they could effectively strangle the economy. This is because the current situation entails an explosion in circular debt growth and unfair business practices.
