    The source said Babar’s family want him to get married before the team jets off for their Australia tour in December.

    The news publication further said the cricket player is set to marry his maternal aunt’s daughter.

    Previously, Shadab Khan got married in a star-studded ceremony where close teammates like Babar and Shaheen were present.

Rameez Raja’s comment, “I want to marry Babar,” has gone viral on social media, garnering considerable attention and sparking discussions.

    Notably, Babar Azam delivered an exceptional century while representing the Colombo Strikers against the Galle Titans at the Paley Kale International Cricket Stadium. This outstanding achievement not only created a buzz within Pakistan but also captured the attention of cricket enthusiasts in Sri Lanka.

    In the match, the Galle Titans set a target of 189 runs for the Strikers. Babar Azam, partnering with Pathum Nissanka, opened the Strikers’ innings and together, they established an impressive 111-run partnership with the Sri Lankan batsman. Babar Azam’s stellar performance included 8 boundaries and 5 sixes, allowing him to reach a total score of 104 runs off just 59 balls.

    It is worth noting that Ramiz Raja resumed his role as a commentator during the recently concluded Test series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Raja had been absent from the commentary box since September 2021, following his election as the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for a three-year term.

Cricket fans around the world have strongly reacted to Babar Azam, number one ODI batter, being ignored by the ICC in its recently released World Cup promo in which Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan also made an appearance.

    ICC tweeted: “History will be written and dreams will be realised at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. All it takes is just one day.”

    However, cricket fans were quick to point out an obvious omission by the ICC in its World Cup promo.

    Babar Azam takes a dip in test rankings: Joe Root is the new Number 1

    According to the new rankings of the International Cricket Council (ICC), England’s Joe Root has become the number one Test batsman in the world.

    After the first Test of the Ashes series, there has been a change in the ICC Test Player Rankings and England’s Joe Root has moved up five places to the first place in the rankings, replacing Australia’s Marnus Libuschen, with New Zealand’s Kane Williamson moving up two places to the second position and Marnus Libuschen to the third position.


    In the Test batsmen’s ranking, Travis Head is at the fourth position after a step up, while Pakistan captain Babar Azam remains at the fifth position.

    Similarly, Australia’s Steve Smith has dropped 4 places to sixth, Usman Khawaja has moved up 2 places to seventh and England’s Harry Brook has moved up to 13th place after 5 places.


    India’s Ravichandran Ashwin remains at the top of the ICC Test bowlers rankings.

    In the bowlers ranking, England’s James Anderson is second, Rabada has moved up one level to third, Pete Cummins has moved down one level to fourth, England’s Ollie Robinson and Australia’s Nathan Lyon have moved up one level to 5th and 6th respectively.

    The player auction phase for the fourth edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) has concluded, revealing an exciting roster of Pakistani cricketers who will grace the event from July 31 to August 22.

    Thirteen Pakistani players will be in action, with three signing pre-auction agreements and ten securing their spots through the auction process. The B Love Kandy team made noteworthy acquisitions, securing Muhammad Hasnain for $34,000, Asif Ali for $30,000, Muhammad Haris for $20,000, and Amir Jamal for $10,000.

    Fakhar Zaman, a prominent Pakistani national player, inked a pre-auction agreement with the B Love Kandy team. Shoaib Malik and Zaman Khan were selected by the Jaffa Kings, with Malik fetching $50,000 and Khan earning $30,000.

    The Dambulla Ora team acquired Shahnawaz Dahani for $20,000, adding a talented asset to their lineup. Moving to the Colombo Strikers, they secured Iftikhar Ahmed for $50,000, Wahab Riaz for $40,000, and Mohammad Nawaz for $30,000. Additionally, captain Babar Azam and fast bowler Naseem Shah signed pre-auction contracts with the Colombo Strikers.

    Pakistan cricket skipper Babar Azam’s birthday this year is not just a delight for the batsman himself, but it will also bring immense joy to cricket fans of Indo-Pak across the world.

    According to the schedule sent by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to the International Cricket Council (ICC) for World Cup 2023, the eagerly awaited Pakistan-India match is likely to be held on October 15 at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

    Babar Azam will celebrate his 29th birthday on October 15, coinciding with the potential Pakistan-India World Cup match on the same day.

    BCCI has finalised the World Cup schedule and submitted it to the ICC. The final schedule of the World Cup is expected to be released this week.

    The ICC has shared the schedule with participating countries of the World Cup for feedback.

    Each team participating in the World Cup will play 9 league matches.

    Media reports suggest that the World Cup will commence on October 5 this year at the Narendra Modi Stadium, with the final scheduled for November 19, also at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

    The opening match of the World Cup will be played between defending champions England and New Zealand.

    In the latest International Cricket Council (ICC) Test batsmen rankings, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam has moved up to the fourth position after the conclusion of a one-off Test match between England and Ireland.

    Despite Joe Root’s commendable performance in the one inning he played during the aforementioned Test, where he scored 56 runs, he experienced a slight drop in his rating points.

    Root’s rating points decreased from 871 to 861, causing him to slip to the fifth position in the rankings. In the meantime, Babar Azam managed to surpass Root with 862 rating points, securing the fourth spot in the ICC Test batsmen rankings.

    Celebrating a double century was Ollie Pope, jumping 10 places to 23rd (637) as a result, with fellow centurion Ben Duckett moving to 34th (up eight spots) with a rating of 602.


    Ireland showed resistance with the bat in response, and a number of players saw jumps in their player rankings as a result. Andy McBrine’s 86* saw him go up 28 places (282 points), with Mark Adair’s 88 (76*) resulting in a 32-spot climb.

    Looking forward to the World Test Championship Final at The Oval, the top-ranked Test players of each rankings discipline are set to feature, as well as a number of players poised to move higher.

    Babar Azam on Monday night shared a picture on his Twitter account, reminding every student of hostel life, where everyone is tense and worried and studying hard just one night before an exam.

    Babar Azam and Muhammad Rizwan are the number two and three ranked batsman in the International Cricket Council (ICC) rankings. Twitter reacted hilariously when the superstars shared a picture of them studying in a room.


    It is a proud moment for Pakistan as the two stars become the first ever cricketers to take part in this business course.
    In the press release issued by the management company of the two players, -Saya Corporation- it is said that the program taught at Harvard Business School in Boston will continue from May 31 to June 3. After which both will hold meetings with various communities in America till June 13.

    Details of Harvard Business Programme

    Programme details have been shared on the school’s website, where they have stated that the programme in which Babar and Rizwan are placed is called the Business of Entertainment, Media, and Sports (BEMS). It is structured with new modules and techniques on how to develop new business, why some startups becomes successful and why some fail.


    It states that the need for digital technology is most felt in the entertainment industry today and the course discusses the latest approaches in this regard.

    This course will teach you how to make the best decisions, how to take advantage of market fluctuations and how to achieve long-lasting profits.

    Course fees stated on the website is $10,500 but it is not clear yet who is paying the fee of the two star players.

    The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee has confirmed three new appointments in the men’s team selection committee ahead of two international mega-events, Asia Cup 2023 and World Cup 2023.


    These selection committee changes will create an impact on the team’s current performance and the current squad as many changes in the squad are expected upon the arrival of director Mickey Arthur.


    The new selection committee comprises Haroon Rashid (chair), Hassan Cheema (selection committee secretary and manager analytics and team strategy for national men’s side), Mickey Arthur (national men’s team’s director), and Grant Bradburn (national men’s team’s head coach).


    Mickey Arthur previously served Pakistan as head coach in Champion’s Trophy 2017, which Pakistan won and in the 2019 World Cup.

    The presence of Cheema, who has worked as strategy manager and data analyst in franchise cricket around the world, Arthur, and Bradburn will aid in strategising for the ipcoming series, enhance the bench strength and provide a proper pathway to performing players in Shaheens and U19 sides to graduate to the national side.

    The first task of the selection committee is to name the players for the fast and spin bowling camps next month in Lahore, which will be announced in due course.
