    Indian celebrities have praised Pakistani drama, Pyar Ke Sadqay on social media. Bollywood writer and critic Salil Arunkumar expressed his appreciation for the hit serial on his twitter handle.

    A-List Indian television actor Helly Shah also commented her feelings for the show. The Ishq Mein Marjawan 2 star stated that she loved every bit of the Farooq Rind’s directorial.

    Pyar Ke Sadqay starred Yumna Zaidi, Bilal Abbas Khan and Yashma Gill in lead roles. The ensemble cast also featured Atiqa Odho, Omair Rana and Srha Asghar in pivotal characters.

    In July 2021, Indian actor Ammy Virk expressed his appreciation for Humayun Saeed’s Meray Paas Tum Ho, also featuring Ayeza Khan, Adnan Siddiqui and Hira Mani.

    While talking to BBC Urdu Amitabh Bachchan shared how he felt about Pakistani dramas and also about Pakistani actors and singers coming to India to work. He said, ”I like it when people from Pakistan come to work in India. We have seen the work done in Pakistan. The drama serials that are shown on Pakistani television are exceptional. A channel in India is dedicated to showing Pakistani drama serials which are very fine and I accept the fact that Pakistani TV serials are far superior to those which are being made in India. The artist in Pakistan are brilliant too. Even very long ago many Pakistani serials were extraordinary”.

    Youtuber Zaid Ali and wife Yumnah Ali welcomed a baby boy, Izyan Ali on August 18th. Several Pakistani celebrities congratulated the couple on their social media posts.

    Zaid took to Instagram yesterday to make the announcement with a photo of little Izyan Ali holding his finger.

    He wrote in the caption, “Alhamdulilah! [On] August 18th, 2021, we have been blessed with Izyan Ali Zaid.” He added that the birth of his son is the “best anniversary gift”.

    Fellow celebrities congratulated the duo in the comment section of Zaid’s post. “Congrats man, you did it!” wrote fellow content creator Shahveer Jafry. “Mashallah! Hope Yumna and baby are doing well. Warmest congratulations!” stated actor Noor Zafar Khan.

    “What a great day Mashallah. Congratulations to the both of you! Can’t wait to meet little Izyan,” chimed in Zoya Nasir. Bilal Abbas Khan, YouTuber Saad Ur Rehman, TikToker Romaisa Khan and Shaam Idrees also sent the duo their congratulatory messages.

    Zaid and Yumnah tied the knot on August 18, 2017 and announced that they were expecting their first child in March this year. They also shared a video of their gender reveal party on YouTube.

    With the nonstop bombardment of missiles by Israelis and destruction of Palestinian homes, offices, security buildings and residential property, nearly 200 Palestinians have been killed, including 58 children, in the Gaza Strip as Israeli monstrosities enter the second week.

    People across the world including Bella Hadid, Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik are raising their voices for the Palestinians with Pakistani celebrities too using their social media presence to call out atrocities of Israeli military on innocent people.

    “Can you imagine kissing your child to sleep and not knowing if you all will see them again? That’s the reality of life in Palestine right now. That’s the horror those children, those innocent beings live in,” said Ayeza Khan. “My heart aches to even think about this. We can’t do much. But we do have a voice. And together, we can use it to stop the cruelties on our brothers and sisters.”

    Taking to Instagram, Mahira Khan wrote: “If we remain silent, there is blood on our hands too.”

    “Free Palestine,” she added.

    Maya Ali also took to Instagram and wrote: “All of my prayers are with the Palestinians.

    She also prayed for the people of Palestine. “O Allah, please help, protect and support the people in Palestine and ease their pains and sufferings. Ameen!”

    Maya added: “I’ve been absolutely speechless and heart broken of seeing the horrifying attacks on the innocent people of #Palestine. Its high time that we all come together, raise our voices and spread awareness about the current situation in Palestine. When the world unites, miracles happen!”

    Sharing a viral video of a Palestinian girl questioning what her fault is and whether it is fair to attack them like this, Ayesha Omar said: “No it’s not. It’s not fair. It’s not fair. It’s not human.”

    Yasir Hussain also expressed his sadness over the situation, saying: “Khamosh rehny waly tamaam Muslim mumaalik ye bhool rhy hain k aisa unky sath bhi ho sakta hai. Hamen khamoshi ki aadat dali ja rahi hai.

    Bilal Abbas Khan also shared pictures of protestors demanding to save Palestine from injustice and apartheid of Israel.

    Other celebrities including Feroze Khan, Haroon Shahid, Shehzad Roy, Zara Noor Abbas and Hania Aamir among others also rose their voice and called out Israeli violence on Palestinians.

    Meanwhile, the United Nations (UN) Security Council met on Sunday to discuss the violence but failed to agree on even a joint statement of concern.

    Nabeel Qureshi has revealed that his upcoming project Khel Khel Mein featuring Bilal Abbas Khan and Sajal Aly will be a historical drama.

    Responding to a follower during a question & answer session on Instagram, Qureshi revealed that Khel Khel Mein is “something different from my previous movies” and will be a historical drama.

    Responding to other questions related to the lead pair, Qureshi shared that he had an amazing experience working with Khan and that Sajal was his first choice for the film.

    Meanwhile, other details about the new project have been kept tightly under wraps and are limited. The actors had earlier expressed their excitement over the film while announcing the news on social media.

    Bismillah,” Sajal had said while sharing a picture of the script, while Bilal had said: “Working with the finest producer/director duo in the country for the first time. Iss baar milte hain theatre mei.”

    Speaking about Mahira Khan and Fahad Mustafa’s Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad that was expected to hit cinemas on Eid ul Azha 2020, Qureshi shared that he plans to release the film this year.

    Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad has been directed by Nabeel and produced by Fizza Ali Meerza. A teaser for the film had also been released earlier.

    Qureshi also mentioned that there are two upcoming movies that are pending for release.

    Sajal Aly, Aiman Khan, Bilal Abbas Khan and Danyal Zafar have made it to UK-based publication Eastern Eye’s list of ’30 under 30 Global Asian Stars’.

    “The future belongs to the young and one look at rising South Asian stars globally shows it is looking very bright,” said the publication while announcing the list.

    “These terrific talents, bringing something unique to diverse artistic fields, are already breaking boundaries at a very young age and giving us hope at a time when we all need it. Eastern Eye decided to put a spotlight on the brightest of these artists for a first-of-its-kind 30 under 30 global Asian stars to look out for in the coming years,” adds their statement.

    Here’s what the magazine had to say about the four stars and what they had to say in return:

    Bilal Abbas Khan

    “He may have only made his acting debut in 2016, but the Pakistani actor has had a rapid rise since then and starred in a massive number of marvellous projects. The 27-year-old has positioned himself perfectly as the future of film and TV in his country. With more big film and TV projects on the way, he is one to look out for.”

    Speaking about the recognition Khan said: “This is a great honour and I feel humbled to be part of Eastern Eye’s prestigious list. It is the love of my fans that keeps me striving to keep pushing the benchmarks and try harder. I hope and look forward to keeping the pace going in 2021.”

    He added that he never saw this coming and was truly ecstatic.

    Sharing the news on social media, Sajal posted an emoji to express her happiness over the accomplishment.

    “She may only be 22-year-old, but the talented actress is already the most followed Pakistani celebrity on Instagram [with almost eight million followers]. The small screen superstar has been lighting up television for nearly a decade and has the world at her feet right now.     Danyal Zafar

    “The 24-year-old singer, songwriter and musician has inherited all the talent of his superstar elder brother Ali Zafar.     Meanwhile, others on the list include Iman Vellani (who will be playing Ms Marvel in the upcoming series), Bollywood stars Alia Bhatt and Guru Randhawa and British-Pakistani singer Zayn Malik. Bigg Boss contestants Shehnaaz Gill and Asim Riaz also made it to the list.

    Saboor Aly has expressed that she is a “proud sister” after Sajal Aly bagged a role in Jemima Goldsmith’s upcoming production What Love Got to do with It?. Sajal will be sharing the screen with Emma Thompson, Lily James, Shabana Azmi, and Shazad Latif in the upcoming film directed by Shekhar Kapur.

    Written and produced under Goldsmith’s production house, Instinct Productions, What’s Love got to do with It? is set between London and South Asia and will explore cross-cultural conflicts of love and marriage.

    A release date for the film has not yet been announced.

  • Fahad Mustafa says ‘Dunk’ is a tribute to victims of false allegations of sexual harassment

    Fahad Mustafa, in a recent interview, shared that the plot of Dunk revolves around false accusations of sexual harassment. Starring Bilal Abbas Khan, Sana Javed and Naumaan Ejaz, Dunk premiered on ARY Digital Wednesday night.

    Talking about why he decided to produce this drama, Fahad said: “95% cases of sexual harassment are genuine but in some cases, people are falsely accused, so we have to tell every kind of story.”

    “We [Big Bang Productions] have always tried to show different kinds of stories,” said Fahad. “We also made a drama Meri Guriya which told the story of [the rape victim] Zainab.”

    “As producer it is my responsibility to tell every kind of story and I believe people will enjoy watching this drama,” added Fahad.

    The actor-producer further said that his new drama depicts reality very closely and that Dunk “is a tribute to every victim who has been falsely accused of sexual harassment”.

    When asked about his opinion regarding Meesha Shafi’s harassment case against Ali Zafar, Fahad said: “I do not know much details about the case, but all I know is that Ali has suffered a lot at professional front, it Is a huge lose for Ali and his family.”

    Mustafa went onto say: “I think, brands should set an example by working with the people who have been falsely accused of sexual harassment.”

    Dunk had earlier stirred controversy for its problematic presentation of harassment in universities in the promos.

    The drama serial features, Bilal Abbas Khan, Sana Javed, Shahood Alvi, Fahad Sheikh, Tara Mahmood, Saifi Hassan, Salma Hassan, Kanwal Khan, Noman Ejaz, and Azekah Daniel. Written by Mohsin Ali Shah Dunk has been directed by Badar Mehmood.
