However, his celebration came at a time when he is facing intense public criticism for his role as Kabir Khan in the drama serial Man Mast Malang.

The drama has drawn backlash for its bold scenes, with many viewers demanding that it be banned.

In several scenes, Danish Taimoor and actress Sahar Hashmi – who play a married couple in the drama – are shown in intimate situations that have angered audiences. In one widely discussed scene, the two are shown lying on a bed with their hands handcuffed together. In another, Danish Taimoor is seen tying his wife’s hands and feet with a rope.

The drama also features multiple dance sequences between the lead pair.

Despite the backlash, Man Mast Malang continues to air and is surprisingly gaining popularity, as reflected by its online viewership numbers.

Meanwhile, Danish Taimoor’s other drama Sher has also begun airing and is receiving a strong positive response from the audience.

This week, two of Danish Taimoor’s dramas made it to the top five list. Sher ranked first, with its first two episodes garnering 25 million views, while Man Mast Malang came in second with 15 million views across three episodes.

His Instagram post celebrating this milestone received mixed reactions. Many criticized the violent and overtly romantic scenes in Man Mast Malang.

One user commented: “A young girl died due to the mentality cultivated by these same dramas. This is not success, it is exploitation.”

Others expressed disappointment with Danish Taimoor’s choice of roles, stating that he is damaging his own image. One viewer wrote that his continued portrayal of such characters is “disappointing for his fans.”

  • ‘Critics don’t need to be actors to judge you’; Raheel Rao claps back at Danish Taimoor

‘Critics don’t need to be actors to judge you’; Raheel Rao claps back at Danish Taimoor

Editor-in-chief of DIVA magazine, Raheel Rao, has addressed Danish Taimoor’s recent comments on drama critics, offering a thoughtful perspective on the significance of criticism in the entertainment industry.

On Instagram, Rao wrote an open letter to Danish, acknowledging his journey from modelling to acting while questioning his views on criticism.

“Dear Danish, I have closely followed your journey. Your shift from modeling to acting has been impressive, and we all greatly admire your growth as an actor. It’s perfectly fine if you don’t place much importance on critics (or their critiques). However, to dismiss them by saying, ‘Woh banda jiska acting se door door tak koi talluq nahi, woh kaise acting ke baare mein baat kar sakta hai?’ feels inappropriate,” expressed Rao.

He elaborated that critics worldwide are typically not actors themselves but rather evaluators who analyse performances for audiences.

“Just like a food critic isn’t required to be a chef to evaluate a dish, or a sports analyst isn’t obliged to be an athlete to analyze a game, drama critics don’t need to be performers to critique acting. Disregarding feedback based on the source instead of engaging with the content weakens the dialogue,” he continued.

Rao’s response was prompted by Danish Taimoor’s recent remarks on Mehfil-e-Ramzan, where he openly dismissed online critiques of his acting choices, stating, “I don’t even pay attention to them. That’s their job; they seek attention. Honestly, I don’t care, and my fans don’t care either.”

While acknowledging that criticism is part of the entertainment field, Danish questioned the merit of all opinions. He argued that critiques should come from individuals who understand the craft, stating, “When I critique something, I do so with a thorough understanding of this industry. But if someone with no acting background scrutinises performances, how does that make sense?”

His comments sparked an intense debate online, with many pointing out the irony of actors voicing opinions on topics beyond their expertise—such as politics, fashion, or sports—yet reacting negatively when the situation is reversed. Others noted that Danish has consistently faced criticism for portraying similar roles in dramas, a concern many view as legitimate rather than mere negativity.

While some fans defended him, agreeing that critiques should be based on knowledge rather than attention-seeking, Rao’s response has shifted the conversation. His argument that criticism is an essential part of storytelling—regardless of the critic’s background—has resonated widely.

  • ‘I don’t even pay attention’; Danish Taimoor dismisses criticism on his roles

‘I don’t even pay attention’; Danish Taimoor dismisses criticism on his roles

Pakistani actor and host Danish Taimoor has recently spoken out about the criticism that celebrities often face, making it clear that he remains unfazed by online critiques. In a conversation during his Ramzan show Mehfil-e-Ramzan on Green TV, Adnan Faisal inquired about how he handles ongoing criticism.

Danish, recognised for his straightforward demeanour, responded with conviction, stating, “I don’t even pay attention to them [critics]. It’s their job; they do it for attention. I genuinely don’t care, and believe me, my fans don’t care either.”

What was particularly noteworthy was his deeper perspective on the validity of critiques. While he acknowledged that criticism is part of the entertainment industry, he questioned whether every opinion is deserving of attention. He further explained, “I’ve been a part of this industry for 18 years. I began acting in 2008, so I understand the entire system—how things function behind the scenes, the obstacles actors encounter, and the dedication that goes into our craft.”

Danish suggested that critiques should stem from a place of knowledge rather than mere observation. He remarked, “When I criticise something, I do so with a comprehensive understanding of how this industry works. But if someone without a background in acting picks apart performances, how does that make any sense?”

His comments have ignited a lively discussion on social media. Many pointed out that actors themselves often weigh in on topics ranging from fashion to sports and politics, yet they seem to take issue when viewers critique them.

Others noted that Danish has faced criticism for opting for similar roles in dramas, which they deem a legitimate concern. Nonetheless, some supporters defended him, arguing that he is correct—criticism should be contextualised and rooted in understanding rather than made simply for engagement.

  • Danish Taimoor’s Maan Mast Malang hits the screens: A new love story or déjà vu?

Danish Taimoor’s Maan Mast Malang hits the screens: A new love story or déjà vu?

Pakistani actor Danish Taimoor has taken on a new role in a new drama series, Mann Mast Malang, which premiered on Geo Entertainment on February 21, 2025. The series airs every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 8:00 PM, with Taimoor and Sahar Hashmi as the lead characters.

Saba Hamid, Uzma Hassan, Adnan Samad, and Nayyer Ejaz round out the ensemble cast.

In his new role, Taimoor plays Kabir Khan, a character in a troubled relationship with Riya, played by Sahar. Their engagement is disrupted by family problems, turning their affection into hatred. As the story unfolds, both characters are forced to confront their pasts and reassess their feelings, navigating a difficult emotional journey.

Despite the new storyline, people have noticed a pattern in Taimoor’s casting choices. Many of his recent projects, like Deewangi, Kaisi Teri Khudgarzi, Ishq Hai, and Jaan Nisar, depict him as a wealthy individual who falls in love with a woman from a lower background. This frequent portrayal has sparked debate among viewers and commentators, suggesting a pattern of typecasting throughout his career.

Social media platforms have become a hotbed for these discussions.

Users on Instagram have voiced frustration with Taimoor’s identical roles, with one user commenting on the predictability of his characters. Similarly, one remarked on the repetitive nature of his roles, questioning the lack of diversity in his acting portfolio.

However, Danish Taimoor has demonstrated adaptability throughout his career. His role in the Ramadan series Chand Tara showcased his ability to step away from dramatic roles, providing an enjoyable change for audiences. This performance highlighted his capacity to embrace multiple genres and complex characters.

As Mann Mast Malang progresses, audiences remain hopeful that Taimoor will take on more diverse roles, breaking away from the stereotype of the affluent, love-struck protagonist. Diversifying his character choices could benefit both his career and the evolving landscape of Pakistani television.
