  • Mahira Khan, Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor join ‘Pawri Ho Rai Hai’ bandwagon

Bollywood Queen Deepika Padukone joined ‘Pawri Ho Rahi Hai’ bandwagon by posting her childhood pictures edited by one of her fans and Pakistani superstar, Mahira Khan also recreated the video in an epic way.

The picture shows Deepika Padukone sitting on a toy horse ride with the text, “Yeh hum hain, yeh humara ghoda hain, Aur yeh humari pawri ho rahi hain.”

Deepika shared the picture-meme on her Instagram account with the laughing emoji and wrote, “Who made this?”

Sharing a video of her pajama party on her Instagram, Mahira wrote: “Myyyy new jam.”

“You’re suppaaa [super] my love Dananeerr, may your future be bright bright. Shine on! Ameen,” she added.

The trend began after the maker of the video, Dananeerr Mobeen posted a clip of herself with her friends. In the video, she was heard saying: “yeh humari car hai, yeh hum hain, aur yeh humari pawri ho rai hai” (This is our car, this is us, and this is our pawri going on).

As ‘Pawri Ho Rai Hai’ became a major memes trend in Pakistan, the fever caught on in India after Yashraj Mukhate of Rasode Me Kaun Tha-fame dropped a funky mash-up of the viral video.

With many Indian and Pakistani celebrities and even Hassan Ali with the Pakistan Cricket team joining in on the trend, Mobeen took the trend a notch higher after releasing a video of herself, grooving on Mukhate’s version of her clip.

Earlier on Thursday, Shahid Kapoor had also shared a hilarious video of his team recreating the viral ‘pawri’ video.

The video showed filmmaker Raj and DK and the team of their next online streaming project. The post read: “Faking feku… better words were never said.”

  • Shah Rukh Khan promises fans a surprise for 2021

Shah Rukh Khan promises fans a surprise for 2021

Shah Rukh Khan, known for his wit and humour, recently released a short video in which he wished his fans a ‘Happy New Year’ and promised that he has a big surprise lined up for them in 2021.

The hilarious video begins with the King of Bollywood in a night suit fighting mosquitoes. Khan adds that had to record the video all by himself as he had no staff available to record it.

“Hi everybody,” said the actor as he started his video. “It is that time of the year again where the old year is on its way out and the New Year is waiting at the entrance. Actually, it has entered because I am late in conveying my wishes to all of you.”

Reflecting on the past year, the actor said: “I am sure 2020 has been the worst of years for everybody. In these awful times, for most it is difficult to find a ray of hope and positivity. But I have a way of looking at bad days, difficult times, and awful years. I believe when one is at the lowest, at the most bottom-est of their life, the good thing is there is only one way to move – upwards, higher to better places. So, 2020 whatever it has been is in the past now. 2021 is going to be bigger, better, brighter and more beautiful.”

Elaborating on the lessons 2020 taught him, SRK emphasized on how important it is to have your loved ones by your side.

“Real fun is with real people. Your family, your friends, your loved ones. All the friends and enemies you make virtually, taking sides or fighting against you online, is good fun, time pass, but it’s not for keeps,” said the actor.

Wishing his fans “happiness, joy and peace”, Shah Rukh joked that he sounded like a “cheap greeting card” while saying this.

He also requested everyone to be “romantic, emphatic, pragmatic, democratic, fantastic” in 2021 and not be “mathematic as it’s very boring and also very difficult to rhyme with the other words.”

Khan also gave his fans some advice on partying.

“Go party hard, but not too hard in moderation. Don’t get too drunk, don’t take off your clothes and run on the street, because chances are you’ll get arrested and even worse you will wake up in the morning and realize you have lost your phone and that really sucks,” said the superstar.

The Fan actor concluded his video with a promise.

“See you on the big screen in 2021,” confirming reports that his upcoming film Pathan is in the works.

Pathan, which marks SRK’s return to the big screen after a long break, will see him play a special agent. Deepika Padukone and John Abraham are also part of the film while Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan are expected to have cameos.

SRK was also recently spotted outside Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai sporting a new look for the film.

Pathan is expected to release on Diwali 2021.

There was a lot of cultural exchange and several of our superstars crossed the border and won hearts there. Fawad Khan, in particular, became an instant hit with the audiences there who couldn’t get enough of his good looks and charm.

While Fawad sings Roop Tera Mastana for Deepika, he sang Chaudvi Ka Chaand for Sonakshi Sinha. Needless to say, the ladies were impressed and Deepika even went down on one knee for Fawad.

    Watch video:

At the same event, Ranveer Singh also expressed his desire to work with the Pakistani heartthrob and demonstrated how girls act when they see Fawad.

Gather your hair to one side so the details of your face become more visible. And SMILE! No one can maim or embarrass you! Don’t hide your scars, instead, flaunt them like a superpower! You’re beautiful and you’ll always be beautiful.”

Deepika Padukone delivers heartening speech on mental health at Davos

Deepika Padukone is on a mission to make the world a better place.

After standing in solidarity with students of New Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) who were protesting after masked assailants wielding batons and iron rods attacked the university leaving more than two dozen injured, she delivered a powerful speech on mental health at the the World Economic Forum in Davos. The actor received the Crystal Award at the annual event for her work on spreading awareness about mental health.

The actor spoke about her mental illness journey at the event saying she had a love-hate relationship with it, and highlighted that depression and anxiety were common illnesses that could be treated.

“My love and hate relationship with this has taught me a lot and I want to tell everyone suffering from this that you are not alone.”

“Depression is a common, yet serious illness. It is important to understand that anxiety and depression is like any other illness and treatable. It was experience with this illness that encouraged me to set up Live Love Laugh,” she said, while speaking about her foundation. Deepika was diagnosed with depression in 2014.

Highlighting the impact mental illnesses have people and on the economy, she said, “One trillion dollars is the estimated impact of depression and mental illness on the world economy. In the time it has taken me to accept this award, the world has lost one more person to suicide”.

Padukone, who received the award on Martin Luther King Jr Day, also quoted the civil rights activist in her acceptance speech.

“For in the words of Martin Luther King, everything that is done in this world is done with hope,” she said.

Padukone started voicing her opinion on the importance of mental health through her foundation The Live Love Laugh Foundation in June 2015.

Through the program, the actor launches nationwide awareness as well as destigmatisation campaigns. The foundation raises awareness about adolescent mental health disorders and organises training sessions, research and lecture series that feature some of the best known thinkers and achievers.

Padukone was last seen in biographical drama Chhapaak, which she also produced. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the movie is based on real-life acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal, who was attacked in 2005 at the age of 15.

Award-winning filmmakers Anurag Kashyap couldn’t praise Deepika enough.

Others defended the actor after people claimed that this was a publicity stunt on her behalf because her film Chappak is releasing this Friday.

Meanwhile, others commented that she has more guts than all the Khans combined.

After BJP spokesman Tajinder Pal Singh called for a boycott of Deepika’s film #ISupportDeepika began to trend on Twitter.

Previously, in a media interaction when asked about the ongoing protests, Deepika had said that she is proud that the students are not scared of expressing themselves.

“I feel proud about it that people are coming out – be it on the streets or wherever they are – they are raising their voice and expressing themselves as it is important. If we want to see change in life and society, it is important that a point of view be put forward,” Deepika had said.

On Sunday masked assailants wielding batons and iron rods attacked JNU leaving more than two dozen injured. According to an Indian journalist, the masked mob was linked to a BJP linked student group. They barged into hostel rooms and assaulted left-wing students and also beat up visually impaired people. There were reports that they were carrying acid as well.

Deepika’s presence at the protest signifies that she is most likely standing with them in protest of these BJP-linked attacks and not the tuition fees hike protests that had been happening at the university earlier. The hostel fee hike is an ongoing issue and protests were held against it previously.

Following the attack, several Bollywood personalities including Vishal Bharadwaj, Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar, Dia Mirza, Rahul Bose, Richa Chadha and Taapsee Pannu led hundreds of people in a peaceful protest against the violence.

Apart from that, Alia Bhatt also condemned the incident.

As did Anil Kapoor, who while speaking to reporters had said, “It has to be condemned. It was quite sad, shocking, what I saw. It was very disturbing. I couldn’t sleep the entire night, thinking what has happened. It has to be condemned. Nothing will come out of violence. Whoever did this, they should be published.”
