Farhan Saeed puts an end to ‘Suno Chanda 3’ rumours

Actor and singer Farhan Saeed has confirmed that Suno Chanda 3 is not happening, with scheduling conflicts and timing conflicts hindering the project.

“The timing is not working out. It is not like I did not try. I tried a lot, but now I feel it will not happen,” Saeed revealed during a recent TV appearance. He explained that as time passes, the original vision becomes harder to maintain.” The continuity and all, even small changes affect it,” he pointed out.

The actor shared that active discussions were taking place just months ago. “It was still possible three, four, or five months ago. At that time, I was in touch with the writer, I was in touch with the production house, and many other people were also involved. Some have genuine problems. It is just not happening,” he said.

In July 2024, Saeed confirmed during a YouTube series appearance that the script was in development.

“I have not read the script but it is being written. I’m not sure if the show will definitely happen,” he had said at the time.

Suno Chanda became a cultural phenomenon when it premiered during Ramadan 2018. The romantic comedy starring Saeed and Iqra Aziz broke viewership records and earned praise for its fresh take on family dynamics and romance. The show’s success led to a second season in 2019, maintaining its popularity with audiences.

In March, Saeed had expressed willingness to return to the role but only with fresh material. “I am happy to do it, but it has to be with a new story, and then we’ll see how the fans receive it,” he said.

Writer Saima Akram Chaudhry also promised in 2022 to pen the third season if fans supported her other projects. Despite these earlier commitments, scheduling challenges and the passing of time have now made the reunion impossible.

  • Farhan Saeed slams ‘Tich Button’ cast, says he would never work with them again

Farhan Saeed slams ‘Tich Button’ cast, says he would never work with them again

Singer and actor Farhan Saeed recently opened up about his experience working on the film Tich Button, saying he would never work with the cast again.

During an appearance on Ahmed Ali Butt’s podcast, Farhan said, “When you connect with a project, if you are not sincere with it or with the team, or if you have issues with it, it becomes unsuccessful. Iman didn’t have any issues with the project, but it was the wrong casting altogether. We made a film, it was a success, but it was difficult.”

Farhan didn’t mince any words. “There were unprofessional people involved. They will hear it and mind it, but that’s the truth. When I sign a project, I give my hundred percent. These are old-school, 90s-style things, being late on set, throwing tantrums. It’s obvious from their career graphs how they are progressing. We conducted screen tests for the actors, but they had a few issues,” he said.

He added, “After the shoot, problems started to arise. The shoot itself was difficult, especially in Nankana Sahib in minus 2 degrees. I can only give room to Iman here, she had MS and collapses in winter, but she was a star in her own right. She wanted PC-level protocols, which isn’t always possible, but I give full credit to Qavi Sahab, Gul-e-Rana, Sohail Sahab, Samia Mumtaz, and Raahila Agha. They were amazing and dedicated people. I learned a lot. I would change many things about the film, casting and many other aspects. But for newbies, it wasn’t that bad.”

Farhan also joked that the Button got Tiched, admitting that there were multiple issues in the project and adding, “If given a chance I won’t ever sign the cast I worked with.”

The film was supposed to release at the end of 2019 but got delayed many times. It starred Farhan Saeed, Sonya Hussyn, Feroze Khan, and Iman Ali and finally came out in November 2022, but it did not do well at the box office.

Farhan Saeed first rose to fame as the lead vocalist of Jal and later gained immense popularity with the Ramzan comedy series Suno Chanda.

His other notable dramas include Udaari, Prem Gali, Mere Humsafar, and Shirin Farhad.

‘Such hatred,’ Celebrities speak out against Islamabad suicide attack

Farhan Saeed reveals he escaped mob attack in India after singing Dil Dil Pakistan

Pakistani singer and actor Farhan Saeed has revealed that he once narrowly escaped a mob attack in India after performing the iconic patriotic song Dil Dil Pakistan.

During his recent appearance on show Hasna Mana Hai, Farhan Saeed shared stories from his career, including an unforgettable incident that took place during a visit to India.

Farhan recalled, “I went to India with my musical band during the Aman Ki Asha initiative. We were performing in Delhi, and while singing Aadat, I suddenly began singing Pakistan’s famous national song Dil Dil Pakistan. After that, I added Jaan Jaan Hindustan and the concert turned into a huge hit! Around 25 to 30 thousand people in the crowd started singing Dil Dil Pakistan and Jaan Jaan Hindustan together.”

The singer said that the atmosphere was electric, and everyone, including the organizers were thrilled after the show. However, things took a tense turn a couple of days later during another concert in Kolkata.

Farhan continued, “Two days later, we had a concert in Kolkata. Just as we were finishing our last song, one of the organizers quietly came to us and whispered in our ears to immediately get into the car after the performance. We didn’t even get a chance to understand what was happening. As soon as we got into the car, we were told that a mob was gathering outside, angry over me singing Dil Dil Pakistan in Delhi.”

Farhan Saeed said they left the venue instantly, narrowly avoiding what could have been a violent situation. Despite the scare, he said the incident remains one of the most memorable experiences of his musical journey.

When asked whether Jal the Band would ever perform together again, Farhan responded: “I don’t know, Tabish. There’s no plan as of now, but it could happen. When I joined the band, I was just 19 years old. During our first tour to America, I wasn’t even allowed to perform at some places because I wasn’t 21 yet. I was with Jal for ten years — from 19 to 29 — but as you grow as an individual, your priorities change. In personal life, you have different choices; in professional life, you have different priorities.”

He added, “During my time with Jal, I didn’t take up any acting projects. I started acting only after leaving the band, and that turned out to be a good decision for me. Whenever a band splits up in Pakistan, people make a big deal out of it because we’re emotional people. Even Strings parted ways after 32 years and after so long, you can’t really say a band has ‘broken up’, they just begin to work individually. It’s not like a marriage and even a marriage can end, so when people separate professionally, it’s just part of life.”

‘This won’t be the last time’: Farhan Saeed slams Indian media over Pahalgam Incident

Renowned singer Farhan Saeed has expressed strong criticism over the “irresponsible and provocative” coverage by Indian media following the Pahalgam incident.

Sharing his thoughts through an Instagram story, Farhan wrote, “As sad as the Pahalgam incident is, the Indian media’s irresponsible and provocative attitude towards this incident is equally sad.”

He didn’t hold back his anger and added, “This is not the first time that the Indian media has done this and I am sure that this is not the last time either, but this attitude will be even worse in the future.”

The backlash from Farhan comes at a time when Pakistani artists have once again been banned in India.

Calling out the media’s obsession with sensationalism, he said, “These people say anything just to increase viewership, and if, God forbid, anything happens between these two countries, the Indian media will be at the forefront of the race, and the people of both countries will have to bear the consequences.”

Farhan, Urwa address ‘separation’ reports after years of silence

Married in 2016, singer-actor Farhan Saeed and actress Urwa Hussain are among the country’s most beloved celebrity couples.

In 2020, however, rumours circulated about a possible separation. The two never confirmed nor dismissed the speculations.

In an interview with the Sunday Times, the pair have broke their silence since their patch-up.

“One thing I really respect about her [Urwa] and what went really right in our situation was that despite whatever happened, we didn’t say or did anything to harm each other,” Farhan said.

As a guide to couples and couples-to-be, he said that “the biggest turn-off for any companion,” even if it is two friends or a relationship, is to talk “behind their back.”

Urwa added that while displeasure can exist, respect must be maintained at all times—something the two maintained while they were separated.

“Which is why we were and are always able to resolve things,” she said, to which Farhan agreed.

Urwa also asserted that amid the low points in a relationship, at times of misunderstanding,, “if you emerge out of it, I feel like you come back stronger”

To this Farhan said, “Rise in love, as they say.”
