‘Salman Raja, Shibli Faraz gave Imran Khan list of 23 lawmakers to expel them,’ claims Fawad Ch

Former Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Fawad Chaudhry, claimed on Friday that party head Imran Khan has been given a list of 23 Members of National Assembly (MNAs) and Senators, with the intention of getting them expelled from the party.

Appearing on a digital media outlet, Chaudhry claimed that during a recent meeting at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, party secretary General Salman Akram Raja and Leader of Opposition in the Senate Shibli Faraz gave Imran Khan a “23-name list of MNAs and Senators to expel them from the party.”

Commenting on the speculation of a potential forward bloc within PTI next month, Chaudhry said, “Speculations about a forward bloc began when inept individuals Salman Akram Raja and Shibli Faraz handed Imran Khan a list of 23 sitting MNAs and Senators.”

Chaudhry’s remarks came days after expelled Sher Afzal Marwat, in an interview with a private news outlet, claimed that a PTI forward bloc could emerge in the National Assembly and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) assembly next month.

Marwat claimed that his ex-party wouldn’t be able to launch its proposed protest drive after Eid ul Fitr, advising PTI to accept PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s mediation offer for “face-saving”.

However, dismissing the reports of a forward bloc emerging within the former ruling party, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan, while in an interaction with a private media outlet on Thursday, called it “baseless speculations.”

The PTI chairman said, “No forward bloc is being formed within the PTI at the provincial or national assembly level,” adding that a difference of opinion does not mean that there is a forward bloc.

Fawad Chaudhry opined that it is a norm to insult the party members who stand with the party, adding, “unfortunately, this is a norm from top to bottom (in the party).”

Chaudhry questioned how an individual would stand by the party when sitting MNAs and Senators are being insulted.

He slammed PTI leadership for attempting to expel current party members. “If you get a chance to visit Adiala Jail and witness a meeting [between PTI leadership and Imran Khan], you will be taken aback that there is only one agenda: to prevent anyone from joining PTI and to find ways to remove those who are already in the party,” he alleged.

VIDEO: ‘This calls for another slap,’ says Fawad Ch in response to PTI’s press release

Former Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry on Monday said that a press release against him by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was issued against party founder Imran Khan’s directive.

The PTI political committee on Saturday issued a statement on PTI’s official X (formerly Twitter) account condemning Chaudhry’s violence against lawyer Shoaib Shaheen. The scuffle between them occurred outside Adiala Jail Rawalpindi’s gate no. five on Friday.

Speaking on a private media outlet, Chaudhry said that in the presence of PTI chairman Barrister Gohar Khan at Adiala Jail, Imran Khan denied that he instructed the party to issue the press release against him.

When the programme host said that the condemnation press release appears to be written by the PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja and asked whether Raja would be the next target of Chaudhry’s violence, the former Minister of Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry sarcastically responded that Raja should correct his behaviour so that he doesn’t get beaten up.

The condemnation’s statement dubbed Chaudhry’s action a “crude and callous demonstration of the animal instinct over logic and reason.”

Further terming Chaudhry’s action “a criminal act”, the statement said, “It is not a slap on the face of Mr. Shoaib Shaheen alone. It is a slap on the face of PTI.”

When asked by the host if Chaudhry was going to slap someone else, he replied that the press release sure called for one. “These two or three people do not have any other treatment,” he said, bursting into laughter.

Additionally, the statement read, “His dastardly conduct further reflects the frustration that Fawad Chaudhry may be suffering from when, as per instructions of the Founder Chairman Mr. Imran Ahmad Khan Niazi, the party announced its complete dissociation from his person. It was also announced that Mr. Fawad Chaudhry would not represent the party at any forum in any manner whatsoever.”

“The Political Committee of PTI takes a serious note of the incident and condemns Mr. Fawad Chaudhry’s gross demeanour in the strongest possible words. The Political Committee also reiterates its complete support for Mr. Shoaib Shaheen for his sagacity in the face of adversity. We salute his courage and composure in dealing with an ugly situation. Despite the dastardly provocation, we call upon our activists and workers to remain peaceful. The party shall prevail.”

He lambasted PTI leaders, saying that Imran Khan’s name is being misused. “Owing to their [party leaders] assistance, Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, and Yasmin Rashid are in jail,” he alleged.

Asked about whether the party founder has not expelled Chaudhry from the party and if he is still associated with the party, he said, “Yes, 100 per cent.”

Fawad lashes out at Salman Raja, Raoof among others after PTI’s condemnation notice

Former Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry launched a scathing attack against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Raoof Hassan, Secretary General Salman Akram Raja and Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram on Sunday after PTI issued a statement condemning his violent altercation with lawyer Shoaib Shaheen.

Chaudhry took to X (formerly Twitter) to write a series of allegations against the PTI political committee, saying that it was involved in the embezzlement of public funds.

“The majority of members in PTI’s political committee […] have embezzled millions in party funds. They refuse to be held accountable for funds collected in the name of Imran Khan [PTI founder] and party workers,” Chaudhry said, stressing that holding them accountable for the funding is extremely important.

Chaudhry claimed that lawyer Shoaib Shaheen, who had earlier been a victim of a Chaudhry punch outside Adiala Jail on Saturday, Waqas and Raja had caused severe damage to PTI. “This group has swallowed millions under the guise of legal and media management,” he alleged.

Fawad Chaudhry revealed that PTI Secretary Information received 50 million rupees in salary despite PTI’s media team not getting paid for the last four months.

He reiterated, “Accountability for funding is crucial because PTI’s media department has not received salaries for the past four months, and the cleaning staff has been laid off. Meanwhile, people like Raoof Hassan are getting a hike in salary.”

Chaudhry then moved his crosshair towards PTI Secretary-General. “Salman Raja has been a legal aide and supporter of the Sharif family in every corruption case, from Panama to other scandals,” he alleged.

Chaudhry said that Akram started his career as a courier. “Now, he is enjoying luxury at the expense of PTI’s funding and the provincial budget,” he added.

Chaudhry’s allegation against PTI leaders came hours after the PTI political committee issued a statement condemning his violence against lawyer Shoaib Shaheen. The statement dubbed Chaudhry’s action a “crude and callous demonstration of the animal instinct over logic and reason.”

The altercation between Chaudhry and the PTI senior leader occurred outside Adiala Jail gate no. 5 on Saturday after Chaudhry called Shaheen a “tout”. In response, Shaheen told him to “mind his own business”.

Chaudhry then punched Shaheen, resulting in the latter falling to the ground and sustaining an injury on his arm. Following the altercation, Chaudhry went inside the jail while Shaheen was called inside by the Superintendent of Adiala Jail.

Further terming Chaudhry’s action “a criminal act”, the statement said, “It is not a slap on the face of Mr. Shoaib Shaheen alone. It is a slap on the face of PTI.”

Fawad Chaudhry ‘knocks out’ Shoaib Shaheen outside Adiala Jail

A scuffle broke out between former federal minister for information and broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry and senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shoaib Shaheen outside Gate No. 5 of Adiala Jail on Saturday.

As per media details, Chaudhry called Shoaib Shaheen a “tout”.

Media reports later in the day claimed that the former minister had made peace with Shaheen who, however, maintained that no such thing had happened.

As to the reason behind the altercation, it was claimed that Shaheen had quoted PTI founder as calling Chaudhry a “bhagora” [deserter]. But Chaudhry claimed that he had asked Khan, who told him he had not said any such thing.

It may be noted that this is not the first time that Chaudhry has physically attacked a famous person. In January 2020, the then- Minister of Science and Technology was present at the walima ceremony of then Punjab Irrigation Minister Mohsin Leghari’s son. It was widely reported by media that Fawad slapped television anchor Mubashir Luqman.

Following the scuffle, Chaudhry took to X (formerly Twitter), writing, “People like Mubashir Luqman have nothing to do with journalism. […] It is everyone’s duty to expose such journalistic brokers.”

The former confidante of Imran Khan, while speaking to a private media news channel hours after the altercation, claimed, “There was a scuffle that broke out. A small fight broke out. In a fight, as usually is the case, he may have got one (slap) in, I may have hit one (sic).”

On being asked about whether his action was justified, Chaudhry responded, “Of course. It was my right. When you level such allegations, anyone will react.” He added, “Everyone has a tolerance level. I face a lot of criticism. But I have not even blocked people on Twitter.”

He said that he had complained to the then-prime minister’s aide on accountability, Shahzad Akbar, about Luqman’s YouTube show and had also called the director general of the Federal Investigation Agency’s cyber wing but did not get the desired response.

According to media reports, the physical altercation apparently occurred when the former TV host Mubashir Luqman uploaded a video on his YouTube channel on January 4, 2020, featuring him and anchorperson Rai Saqib discussing the TikTok stars Hareem Shah and Sandal Khattak’s connection with Chaudhry.

Saqib, while citing TikTokers, claimed that both have multiple “immoral videos” of Chaudhry that they could release them at any time. “I have seen the video,” Saqib said upon being asked if he had watched Fawad’s videos.

In June 2019, Chaudhry was accused of slapping YouTuber Sami Ibrahim at a wedding function in Faisalabad days after Ibrahim had posted a video on social media, alleging that a plot to oust then Prime Minister Imran Khan and weaken the Pakistan Army was being orchestrated.

He further alleged that some from within the PTI were a part of this so-called plot, and without offering any concrete proof to support his accusation, Chaudhry was implicated in the video.

Following the allegation, Chaudhry took to X (formerly Twitter) on June 3, 2019, launching a piercing attack on Ibrahim. The then-minister resorted to slurs and insulting language against the anchor.

  • Shahbaz Gill was wronged, that is why he is bitter: Fawad Chaudhry

Shahbaz Gill was wronged, that is why he is bitter: Fawad Chaudhry

Former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) federal minister Fawad Chaudhry, while appearing on Samaa TV last night, defended PTI member Shahbaz Gill’s controversial posts on social media.

Senior journalist Absar Alam asked Chaudhry the efficacy of social media strategy in which many PTI leaders and workers were engaged in vitriol against the country, to which Fawad replied: “There needs to be a clear distinction between official PTI leaders’ social media posts and certain rogue elements who align themselves with PTI. Many of my PTI friends get angry with me when I tell them there isn’t much effort visible as it should be from PTI leaders to dissociate themselves from rogue elements.”

Absar Alam asked the former federal minister: “Do you not think that Shahbaz Gill, Azhar Mashwani directly represent PTI? So what is the difference between their hateful social media posts and others?”

Fawad replied: “When has Azhar Mashwani engaged in hateful posts against the country or establishment? In the case of Shahbaz Gill, a great injustice was done to him, and that is why sometimes he reacts angrily. Even you were treated unjustly. In my opinion, Shahbaz Gill is one of those people who were treated wrong and that is why they’re bitter.”

Shahbaz Gill, who served as the spokesperson of the Punjab Government during PTI’s tenure, was arrested in August 2022, a few months after PTI government collapsed.

The charges against Gill at the time included sections 34 (common intention), 109 (abetment), 120 (concealing design to commit offence punishable with imprisonment), 121 (waging war against state), 124-A (sedition), 131 (abetting mutiny, or attempt to seduce a soldier, sailor or airman from his duty), 153 (provoking to cause riot), 505 (statement conducing to public mischief) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Fawad Chaudhry alleged that Gill had been abducted by unidentified personnel in cars with missing number plates.

Gill was hospitalised multiple times during his incarceration after he claimed “shortness of breath.” The Lahore High Court permitted Shahbaz Gill in March 2023 to travel to the United States, ordering the government to remove his name from the Exit Control List (ECL).

Gill actively complains to US officials by tagging their social media handles against Pakistani authorities and journalists on his official X handle (formerly Twitter). Gill took to X on December 16 to write: “ALARMING! Pakistan’s leading TV channel @GeoTvNews has launched a vicious smear campaign against Richard Grenell  @RichardGrenell former US Ambassador to Germany, former Director National Intelligence and recently nominated as Trump’s envoy for special missions.”

Similarly, another post on December 17 by Gill read: “Couldn’t agree more, @DarrenJBeattie! The Pakistani establishment’s smear campaign against Richard Grenell is a blatant attempt to distract from his impressive credentials & achievements. Their homophobic attacks won’t work!”

Fawad opined that the solution to dealing with Shahbaz Gill or people like him is to engage with them. Absar Alam smiled at this reply, saying: “But you people [PTI government] did not engage with anyone when you were in power. You used to say send them to jail.”

Chaudhry then claimed that the PTI’s tenure in power was the most relaxed era in the history of the country, during which the media earned significantly.

Absar Alam laughed against saying: “You’re saying this with a straight face while looking at me.” Fawad replied in a lighter tone: “But you weren’t a journalist in our times.”

It is worth mentioning that journalist Absar Alam was shot in April 2021 near his residence in the federal capital during PTI’s tenure.

In September 2021, Absar Alam was charged with incitement against the Pakistan Army while the Punjab Police also made a legal request to register a case of high treason against him under Article 6.

Fawad Chaudhry also stated: “In the past, PML-N and PPP had engaged in politics of hate, but later on they realised this cannot go on. In my opinion, there is a dominant opinion in PTI that this kind of politics cannot continue.”

  • Which PTI leader did Fawad Chaudhry term ‘insect’?

Which PTI leader did Fawad Chaudhry term ‘insect’?

Former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry has often made headlines for his harsh remarks about his ex- party’s leadership. This time, he termed one PTI leaders an “insect.”

“After we were forcefully removed from the PTI, a leadership vacuum was created within the party, so these insects, including Shoaib Shaheen, stepped forward. They do not belong to PTI at all,” said Chaudhry in Khabar Se Khabar on Monday.

The former federal minister for Information and Broadcasting claimed that PTI’s current party leadership is insecure about his return to the party.

However, program host Nadia Mirza contested Chaudhry’s insult “insects” by saying that the PTI’s current leadership indeed rescued the party when many leaders had abandoned it in the past.

“How long did Shoaib Shaheen, Barrister Gohar Khan, and Salman Akram Raja remain imprisoned in jail? What are their sacrifices for PTI,” Chaudhry asked.

Decrying the PTI leadership, he said that instead of initiating an agitation after the February 8 general election, party leaders confined themselves to their homes. “48 cases registered on me; how many cases have been filed against the PTI leadership,” he questioned.

Former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s counsel Shoaib Shaheen had criticised Fawad Chaudhry on December 21 over his suggestion to operate Imran Khan’s  X (formerly Twitter) account from Pakistan.

“Those who abandoned the party back then no longer have any affiliation with PTI,” Shaheen quoted Imran Khan as saying. The lawyer further stated that the party founder had directed others to distance themselves from Fawad Chaudhry.

On December 21, following the directive of Imran Khan, party chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan issued a formal statement distancing the party from the former federal minister.

“A meeting took place at Adiala Jail, where PTI’s legal team met Imran Khan. During the meeting, Khan instructed the team to publicly disassociate from Fawad Chaudhry,” Gohar said in his statement.

“Accordingly, following Khan Sahab’s instructions, the PTI completely disassociates itself from Fawad Chaudhry and clarifies that Fawad Chaudhry has no relation whatsoever with the PTI. Moreover, he is not authorised to represent the PTI on media, social media, and TV talk shows, or issue statements on behalf of the PTI, or present his personal opinions as the party’s stance.”

Imran Khan’s prison cell had no electricity for five days, Fawad Chaudhry reveals

Former federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry, while appearing on the Geo News programme Naya Pakistan on Friday, revealed that former Premier Imran Khan had no electricity for five days last month.

The former member of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) further claimed that party founder Imran Khan has no access to newspapers and television.

Chaudhry revealed the details of his meeting a day after he met with the PTI founder in Adiala Jail Rawalpindi on Thursday.

Commenting on PTI demands to establish a judicial commission to investigate the events of May 9 and November 24, the former Minister said that Prime Minister’s Advisor on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah does not want to form the commission, adding, “Rana Sanaullah will leave thorns for Mohsin Naqvi in the future.”

“If Mohsin Naqvi has some wisdom, he should form the commission,” he advised.

Responding to host Shahzad Iqbal’s question about whether the party founder’s recent call for civil disobedience movement succeeds, Chaudhry said, “The civil disobedience movement had been very effective in the past and has many layers.”

Founder PTI Imran Khan on Thursday warned the government on X (formerly Twitter) that his party will begin a civil disobedience movement if the two demands remain unmet.

He demanded the formation of a judicial commission for a transparent investigation of May 9, 2023, and November 26, 2024, and the release of under-trial political prisoners.

“If these two demands are not accepted, a civil disobedience movement will be launched from December 14,” the founder of the former ruling party warned, adding that the government would be responsible for the results of the movement.

Fawad Chaudhry opined that in last month the settlement with the government regarding the release of Imran Khan was very close. However, the party negotiating team’s lack of experience shattered the opportunity.

Recalling his meeting with the party founder, Chaudhry highlighted that party founder Imran Khan was in his “2018-19 fitness.”

Meanwhile, speaking outside the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Rawalpindi, Awami Muslim League Chief and former Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid said that he also met Imran Khan at Adiala Jail Rawalpindi on Thursday, adding, “Imran Khan greeted me with a warm hug.”

Sheikh Rasheed said that Imran Khan mostly engaged in conversation with the Opposition Leader in the National Assembly, Omer Ayub Khan, and it was not appropriate to disclose the conversation to the media.

“He [Imran Khan] said to me that we are the same,” the former Interior Minister said.

  • ‘Collaborate with Chahat Fateh Ali Khan’, Sher Afzal Marwat’s advice for Fawad Chaudhary

‘Collaborate with Chahat Fateh Ali Khan’, Sher Afzal Marwat’s advice for Fawad Chaudhary

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) maverick leader Sher Afzal Marwat, while talking to the press, had advice for former PTI leader Fawad Chaudhary, “Collaborate with Chahat Fateh Ali Khan to play the tabla.”

Fawad Chaudhary has been getting into Twitter brawls with current party leadership as the former tries to gain back some clout in the party.

A few days ago, Faisal Chaudhry, brother of Fawad Chaudhry, fell victim to Party Secretary-General Salman Akram Raja’s wrath, who removed the advocate from the party’s WhatsApp groups in a fit of rage. Party sources said that Faisal’s unauthorized media talk to journalists outside Adiala Jail proved to be the final straw, but Faisal himself said that he was penalized for telling the truth to Imran Khan when he met him a few days earlier in Adiala jail.

On October 26, PTI’s Raoof Hasan lashed out at the two brothers, calling them “tout brothers,” in a post that was pinned on his page. The post reads: “Faisal Chaudhry’s entry into the arena is a sinister attempt to create divisions within PTI. Having failed in similar previous efforts, the tout-brothers have been let loose to carry forth the agenda. Seeing through this criminal effort, PTI stands united behind the decision to oust him from the legal team. He has nothing to do with @ImranKhanPTI cases, which will be handled exclusively by lawyers designated by the party.”

Meanwhile, Fawad quoted his tweet with a rather angry reply: “Faisal has done 500 plus cases for PTI workers free of cost on the other hand you the bastard brother of Fawad Hassan Fawad Is drawing 7.5 Lakh Rs salary and provided details to agencies about all SMT and media workers of PTI, that resulted in arrests of hundreds of workers.. you are not loyal to anyone BC..”

And what is a fight without PTI’s own Sher Afzal Marwat? That is why Marwat made a funny remark about Chaudhary saying: “I have an advice for Fawad Chaudhary that these days he is completely free and no one is ready to include him in their party. Therefore, he should collaborate with Chahat Fateh Ali Khan to learn to play the tabla.”

This also isn’t the first time the two have called out each other in public. For instance, Marwat once criticised Fawad Chaudhary, saying that he “ran away from police like an elephant” when he was about to get arrested at Islamabad High Court.

‘PTI’s social media managed from Germany, London,’ claims Fawad Chaudhry

Social media teams associated with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have come under vehement criticism by former Minister and ex-member of the party, Chaudhry Fawad Hussain.

Appearing on Samaa’s programme, Mere Sawal with Absar Alam, the former Information and Broadcasting Minister, stated that YouTubers like Adil Raja, a former army major who is now pro-PTI, have earned 50,000 pounds using Imran Khan’s name in their vlogs within just two months.

“Adil Raja has nothing to do with PTI, and he is not even associated with PTI,” Fawad said.

Criticising PTI’s social media cell, he declared that one person is operating 30 social media accounts from Germany and London. “Un ki wajah se hum is condition mein hain.”

“Pseudo PTI’s social media cell is even playing in the hands of foreign intelligence agencies like India’s RAW and banned outfit Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA),” Hussain alleged.

He said that multiple pseudo-PTI YouTubers had harshly criticised journalists and Generals in Pakistan, which ultimately led them to turn against PTI.

The leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf showed a clear divide following Hussain’s harsh comments on advocate Salman Akram Raja last week.

“Salman Akram Raja has been Nawaz Sharif’s lawyer from Panama until now. Who are the rest of these people,” Chaudhry Fawad Hussain asked, “The establishment has put us in jails and imposed its representatives on the party. As long as Imran Khan is in jail, they have a political life; when Imran Khan comes out from behind bars, they won’t even be visible,” Ch Fawad Hussain said on X (formerly Twitter).

Imran Khan refused to meet Fawad Chaudhry, says Rauf Hassan

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokesperson Rauf Hassan has said that incarcerated former Prime Minister Imran Khan refused to meet former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry in Adiala jail.

During an interview on ARY News’ programme ‘Off The Record’, Hassan said that party head Imran Khan refused to meet Fawad despite the latter’s request.

The PTI spokesperson also confirmed that no one in the party contacted the former federal minister and asked him to stop speaking against PTI.
“We are not afraid of anyone’s return, but the agenda (for the move) is important,” Rauf Hassan stated.

“Fawad Chaudhry currently has no place in the party. Imran Khan will decide on the return of those who left the party after his release,” the PTI spokesperson confirmed.
