Actor Imran Ashraf is currently in Canada to promote his new film Enna Nu Rehna Sehna Nai Aunda and fans are thrilled to see him.

While in Toronto, he experienced a touching moment with fans who recognised him on the street, stopped to greet him, and offered their best wishes. Videos of the warm exchange quickly went viral on social media.

Reflecting on the encounter, Imran said the outpouring of love makes all the hard work worthwhile.

The film promises a mix of drama, comedy, and social commentary, and will be released worldwide on August 22. Directed by Rupan Bal and written by Surinder Arora, it is already creating buzz in Pakistan and among the Pakistani community abroad.

Pakistani actor Imran Ashraf is all set to charm audiences across the border with his first Indian Punjabi film, Enna Nu Rehna Sehna Nahi Aunda. The film is officially releasing on May 16, and fans are already buzzing with excitement.

The film is a global Punjabi comedy and promises a hilarious ride. Imran will be sharing the screen with the energetic Jassie Gill, and fans are expecting powerful on-screen chemistry. Beloved actor and host Imran Ashraf recently shared a touching video from his show on Instagram.

The post was captioned with the word “Love,” and the video featured an emotional moment with a transgender fan from the live audience.

In the video, the transgender audience member is in tears as she expresses her gratitude to Imran Ashraf.

“Imran Ashraf sahib, I came to your show because you respect and love everyone. I am here only to meet you and pray for you. This is the first show in Pakistan’s history where someone from my community has been given so much respect. Thank you,” she says.

The heartfelt moment, however, didn’t end there. Imran Ashraf, known for his kindness and humility, comforted the fan by saying, “Phir rona nahi hai (Don’t cry now),” and asked if she wanted to say anything else. She replied with another honest “Thank you.”

Earlier, during his program Mazak Raat, a member of the audience asked the show’s host, Imran Ashraf Agha, and actor Mustafa Hassan, which actress they would like to work with in their next project.

Ashraf revealed that he would like to collaborate with Bollywood actress Tamannaah Bhatia for a movie.

“As far as I am concerned, I want my next project to be with Tamannaah Bhatia,” he replied. 

“I have never worked with the talented actress Saba Qamar. It would be a great honour for me if she agrees to work with me,” the Rasq-e-Bismil actor added. 

Tamannah Bhatia has starred in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam films.

Actress Sonya Hussyn is setting up her career to be that of a thespian with the wide range of characters she has played on screen. In a post yesterday, she revealed that her next character, Murshid, is an addict, and debuted her look on Instagram.

Earlier, in an interview with ‘Independent Urdu,’ Sonya talked about her career and who she would like to work with. She mentioned Ali Zafar as her favorite on-screen hero, saying he has a special charm.

“I never really thought about it, but when it comes to movies, I find Ali Zafar very charming. He has that charisma of a movie hero. There are many good actors, like Fawad Khan, who also have charm, but when it comes to acting, I would choose Ali Zafar,” she said.

But things got interesting when Sonya talked about her experiences with offers from the Indian film industry. She revealed that she was approached for three different projects. “I have received three film offers from India. One was a Shakespeare screen adaptation of Measure for Measure. The other was a sequel to some old Santosh Kumar film – I can’t recall its name,” she noted.

One offer, in particular, caught her attention—a film with the famous Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi. “For that one, I even had a meeting with the relevant people but then the exchange with India stopped altogether,” she explained, referring to the stop in collaborations between India and Pakistan after the Uri attack and the subsequent ban on Pakistani artists working in India.

Actor Imran Ashraf, known for his versatile acting in the entertainment industry, recently got a special shout- out from Indian comedy legend Johnny Lever.

In the video, Johny Lever said, “Imran Bhai, Asalam O Aliokum, Mazaq Raat Mazaq Raat, wow you did a fantastic job! Imran Bhai, we have spoken before, and I have seen your performance in your dramas, like your Bhola character and Shammo, you were amazing in those.”

“Anchoring is no easy task, you have to manage everything, and your presentation was excellent, you’re doing stand-up as well, and your performance is wonderful. You have a real sense of good music, it is amazing,” the Dard Ka Rishta actor said.

“What’s even more remarkable is that we miss Albela sahab and Sardar Kamal sahab, but may Allah grant them Jannat. Our other brother, Akram Udas, has a great sense of humor too, and I am amazed at the talent these three (Honey, Sakhwat and Akram) have. May Allah bless them with good health,” Johny Lever added.

Impressed by Imran Ashraf’s ability to bring out the best in others, Johnny Lever commented, ““Mazaq Raat is an amazing show, and the way you bring out talent from the audience is incredible. The guests on the show are also doing amazing, and you’re doing even better than them. The interaction with the audience is great.”

The cohost, Ayesha Shakoor, asked, “I’m sure you receive lines from fans because of how handsome you are. What was the craziest fan encounter you’ve ever had in your life?”

“It was a very crazy experience in Lahore. Everyone remembers that day in 2012 or 2013,” Khan remembered, recalling that it rained heavily, “so much that people said it looked like it was snowing.”

“One day, I was walking when suddenly I heard the noise of cars honking, a long line of vehicles. Out of nowhere, I heard a voice. It was a girl’s voice. She called out to me, and I said, ‘Thank you’.

“Suddenly, she got out of her car, ran towards me, and said, ‘I’m a huge fan, I’m a huge fan.’ I thanked her, but before I could say anything else, she hugged me. As soon as she hugged me, a close-up shot revealed that my wife was walking towards us,” he described.

“As she walked towards us, I was wondering what I was going to say, of course. The first thing that came was an interrogative question, ‘What was that?’ I said, ‘She was a fan.’ ‘If she was a fan, why did she hug you?’ she asked.

“I explained it all happened so quickly. I didn’t have time to respond before she hugged me. She said to me, ‘If she had said something else, you have probably done that too’. But I reassured her that wasn’t the case, after which she just said, ‘Make sure this doesn’t happen again”, Sami added.

Sami Khan starred in dramas such as Dil se Dil Tak, Yaad Piya Ki Aye, Ghar Ki Khatir, and Pagal Khana. Currently, he is starring in DunyiPur, which is written by Radain Shah and directed by Shahid Shafaat.

Sami Khan and Shanzay Khan tied the knot in 2009.

Former actress Kiran Ashfaq Hussain Dar, now married to political leader Hamza Ali Chaudhry, has welcomed a baby girl into her family.

Kiran, who is also the ex-wife of actor Imran Ashraf, shared the happy news on Instagram, revealing that the baby will be named Khadija Ali and that she was born this month.

Before this, Hamza Ali Chaudhry had already shared the news by posting a picture of himself with his mother and newborn daughter. Kiran has since re-shared several Instagram stories from her family and friends, although the baby’s face was not clearly visible in the posts.

Fans have been congratulating Kiran on the birth of her daughter.

Kiran was previously married to Imran Ashraf, who became famous for his role as ‘Bhola.’ The couple, who married in 2018, announced their separation some time ago. Kiran later married Hamza Ali Chaudhry, a lawyer and member of the PPP, in December 2023.

Rejection in the entertainment industry is a harsh reality and actor Fahad Sheikh has faced it too. Even though he’s gained success and praise, he’s faced setbacks along the way.

Recently Fahad appeared as a guest on ‘Mazaq Raat’, hosted by Imran Ashraf, where he talked about the most challenging moments of his career.

“One of the bitter mosy rejections I’ve faced is when, after Jalan drama, the phone calls finally started coming in. Production houses were suddenly reaching out, but there was still a sense of formality. My principle has always been that I don’t beg for work, and I hadn’t until now,” the actor began.

He went on to narrate a story. “So, I went for a meeting, dressed in a full black kurta, wearing Peshawari Chappal, with glasses on. I walked in, and there was the director, seated in a small room. I didn’t know him at all. He looked at me, but didn’t care much. He looked towards the GM, and I could sense the dismissive attitude.”

“Now, I’m standing at the door, thinking about what I should do next. It was an awkward moment; both of us felt embarrassed. And the gentleman who had brought me there was relaxed, probably because he already knew I was being rejected before we even got there. Then they offered me coffee, and I politely refused. We wrapped up the meeting quickly, made our way out, and left the place with disappointment. You know, every new city breaks you a little, but if it didn’t, perhaps the refinement in my work wouldn’t have come,” the Hasrat actor added.
