  • Medicated vs non-medicated face wash: which one is better?

Medicated vs non-medicated face wash: which one is better?

Finding the perfect facewash is never easy. A million questions pop up in our head when we think about buying a facewash. Will it suit my skin type? Medicated or non-medicated? Which brand is the best? In most situations, we end up buying the one that storekeeper recommends us or the one with nicer packaging. And the results can either be a hit or a miss.

As per our research, the most common question regarding facewashes is whether one should opt for a medicated facewash or a non-medicated one.

If you have oily/combination and acne prone skin, “Airol-N,” a medicated facewash, is for you. It has been tried and tested. It prevents pimples and helps reduce the appearance of skin breakouts.

In the beginning, you may feel that your skin feels dry but after a couple of weeks, you will begin to notice the difference.

However, it is important to consult a dermatologist before you experiment with your skin because something that works for us may not work for you. We are simply sharing our experience. But if your dermatologist also suggests this then HIGH FIVE!

    Price: Rs 540

On the other hand, non- medicated face washes are only good for cleansing. They remove the dirt from your face but they don’t play any part in reducing your pimples or scars.

I have tried plenty of non-medicated face washes, who give out high claims. For example, using a particular face wash will give you an instant glow in just one wash. And not just glow but ‘parlour wala‘ instant glow. Matlab HOW??

Neem face washes claim to reduce pimples but even after using them for a few weeks, I didn’t see any difference in my pimples.

The only benefit of non-medicated facewashes is that they are cheaper compared to medicated ones.

But as someone who has struggled with teenage acne and pimples, I believe it is important to invest in your skin. How you take care of your skin now is how it will look a few decades down the road.

If you have tried any medicated or non-medicated face wash that has worked for your skin type, do share with us.

VIDEO: Delhi woman called out for asking men to rape girls wearing clothes of their choice

A group of young women from New Delhi claimed that a middle-aged woman asked men at a restaurant to rape them because one of them was wearing a short skirt, following which they confronted her in a mall.

The confrontation was captured in a video which went viral on social media. It shows the group of girls cornering the older woman and threatening to make her “viral” if she did not apologise.

Shivani Gupta who recorded and shared the video, wrote on Facebook, “This middle-aged woman you’ll see in the video addressed seven men at the restaurant to rape us because she felt we deserved it for wearing short clothes and bashing her unsolicited opinion.”

The woman allegedly asked seven men at the resteraunt to “rape” the younger women because of their choice of clothes. Following this, the group of girls followed the woman to a shopping centre where they insisted that she apologise. An argument ensued and the younger women threatened to take the case to the police. However, according to Indian media, Gurgaon Police is yet to receive a complaint.

The middle-aged woman, whose identity has not yet been revealed, refuses to apologise and tries to walk away but the girls refuse to let her go.

After about eight minutes of being followed and taunted, the woman spoke up.

“Hello guys, these ladies want to wear short to short dress to encourage all to see them. Theek hai? Wow, very good. All the ladies wear short dress or be naked to (be) raped.”

She continued, “Hi all, if you are the parents, please control the girls.”

The girls in the video then started mocking the woman for her accent following which she lost her cool and started speaking loudly.

The video has been viewed over a million times and people have lauded the women for taking action against the shaming.

Instagram is ready to roll out a test that hides “Like” counts

Would we feel less envious and competitive if Instagram didn’t tell us how many Likes a post received? That’s the idea behind Instagram now hiding Like counts. Only the person who posted a photo will be able to see the number of likes it received. Instagram is not testing this at the moment but it will start doing this with users in Canada next week. It is not clear if Instagram plans to test this out in other places. But if it leads to more positive effects on the app, it wouldn’t be surprising to see an expansion of it.

Instagram critics have pointed to it as one aspect that contributes to the negative effects on mental health. Like counts can be a source of social pressure, particularly for younger users. hiding likes count could potentially make Instagram a little healthier.

  • The Current’s Selfie Guide

    The Current’s Selfie Guide

We all love taking selfies, don’t we? But your once-in-a-lifetime farewell moment has to look super hot. When you’re all dolled up, making goodbye memories, master your selfie pose with The Current’s selfie guide.

    SMILE:

Always tilt your head a little to the side. Practice in the mirror and figure out your best side. Everyone has one and we’ve actually had female politicians tell us not to photograph them from a certain angle. So trust us when we say, know your best angle and SMILE. Because you’ll look young and happy. Not too big though and try sticking your tongue lightly to the roof of your mouth. Gives your smile a little softness. REMEMBER: You want to be Deepika at her wedding, not Priyanka.

    POUT:

If you’re going to pout, you better do it right. Otherwise your school title will be Duck Face and no one wants that. So to master the perfect pout, make sure you use lip liner when you put your lipstick on. It will define your lips and also give it a nice, rosy shape. For a natural pout, you need to put slight pressure on the edges of your nose. Push your nose down slightly, tilt your head to a side angle, and do a small pout. That’s the only way to go.

    THE CAMERA:

Can be your best friend or your worst enemy. Invest in a phone with a good camera (preferably ones with a portrait mode since they look soo professional). But if your phone sucks, you can get a good selfie out of it. How? Always take your selfie from a higher angle than your face. It makes you look thinner than if you do at eye level or below. And if you’re taking a selfie with friends, DO NOT EVER take the selfie yourself. The person taking selfie will always look the worst so its better them than you.
