Chahat Fateh Ali Khan threatens legal action after Mathira accuses him of harassment

Singer Chahat Fateh Ali Khan has threatened legal action against television host Mathira after she revealed she was very uncomfortable during an interaction with him.

Khan recently appeared on Mathira’s talk show The 21mm Show, and posted a video on his Instagram where he was moving closer to the host while singing his popular song, Bado Badi, while she kept moving away. Khan also gave her a one-armed hug and held her arm repeatedly, despite her nervous laughter.

In a video titled “Mathira breaks silence on harassment by Chahat Fateh Ali Khan,” she spoke about the incident and said, “Whenever a guest comes to our show, I respect them and treat them with love and kindness, but making a video in this way was a very bad move. Being bold does not mean that anyone will see and hug me,”  Mathira said.

“I was feeling very uncomfortable. This video was not made with our cameras, but by Chahat Fateh without permission. My team and I did not know that this video was made. The show’s cameras are somewhere else, while this video was made from another spot, which is not allowed,” she explained.

“As a woman, all this was painful because I do not do all these things to hug people,” she remarked.

Chahat responded in a video posted on his Instagram account, stating that Mathira was speaking out against him when in “reality” she had pleaded for months that he appear on her show because it wasn’t doing well.

“During the interview, she asked how long it takes to complete the shoot for a song because I’ve released 52 songs and I told her I would show her after the show.”

“When the show ended, during the photo session, my video shows that she came to me and put her arm around my waist. I straightened her and said pictures were taken facing the front.”

He said the second video showed him demonstrating how his music videos were recorded and that Mathira “enjoyed it, laughed and couldn’t stop laughing.”

Khan claimed that after the show was a hit and everything had happened, the host was accusing him of harassment, “which is a big accusation.”

“I have spoken to my lawyers and will meet with another solicitor. I will take you to court. I did not harass you,” he maintained.

He said Mathira was a respected senior artist, and despite her asking many questions on the show, he did not answer and kept laughing so the show could get coverage. “Later you made claims of harassment. This is injustice.”

Khan also claimed that he always went to TV shows by himself, and “Your own worker, one of the cameramen, recorded the video and I got it from them. Everyone was filming. That someone was with me and recording a video secretly is a huge lie and allegation.”

‘You can never have the perfect man,’ says Mathira

Television host Mathira, known for her being bold and vocal, recently appeared as a guest on the Rukhsat podcast, where she shared her thoughts on the wrongs in marriages today.

“First of all, we should know that there’s nothing called an ideal couple. I’ve learned this: you can never have the perfect man, and you can never have the perfect girl, but you can have a person that you feel safe with,” she said.

“True love is when you feel safe with someone when you can act like your six-year-old, and you can understand that sometimes, even at your worst and even at your best. We also need to understand that a relationship is not 50/50. When your partner is down, you need to do extra work. Sometimes you’ll have to be 70, you’ll have to take it. But then when things go balanced and when you’re down, they need to do the same for you,” she explained.

“We need to teach our kids one thing: when you get into something with the mental goal of perfection, stop trying to be perfect. You need to be transparent. Whoever you are, he/she accepts you with all your jadedness, with all your flaws, then you can elevate that person and be like, ‘You’ve seen all my flaws; now I will look past your flaws.’

“So it becomes an exchange. You both will be like, ‘I have this issue; I will try to work on it.’ This is what you call teamwork, balancing each other’s loopholes, like you’re there for each other”, she advised.

Mahira also pointed out a major misconception in society, saying, “We need to understand that sex is not everything, it’s just a small part of life, it’s not life, people can get used to a toxic relationship, and it’s like heroin. The biggest misconception in Pakistan is that women are more attracted to it.”

‘ADHD is not something to be ashamed of,’ Mathira encourages seeking help for mental health

Television host Mathira recently appeared as a guest on the Good Morning Show, where she shared her experience of having Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), a neurodevelopmental disorder.

She believes that parents of children suffering from mental health issues often overlook their concerns and pressure them to focus on their studies, which can result in the development of negative tendencies.

“I was diagnosed with the condition when I was an adult. My doctor prescribed medication, which I took for a while, but then I began to feel dependent on them. That’s when I learned more about ADHD and decided to stop the meds,” she said.

Mathira pointed out that ADHD is neither a rare nor a severe illness, and those suffering from mental health issues should not feel ashamed to seek medical help, as it can be managed with proper care.

“We always focus on the negative aspects of these conditions, but there are positives too. People like us tend to forget things quickly, so it takes us less time to recover from any trauma. We can do things so quickly that it surprises those around us,” Mathira said.

She also advised parents of children with ADHD not to pressure them. Instead of scolding, parents should try to understand their children and channel their energy in positive directions.

She added, “Such children are highly intelligent and talented,”

Reflecting on the episode, Fahad, the host of the show, said that Mathira seemed uncomfortable. She didn’t hesitate to share her thoughts, saying, “I expected his show to be respectful like others I’ve been on. I used to have respect for him, but the way he behaved…”

She criticized Nadir further, alleging, “I feel he targets women on his show. Every woman who goes on feels cornered. That’s not okay.” According to Mathira, there’s a line between being funny and being disrespectful. “You can’t ask rude questions that aren’t even funny.”

Model, actress, and TV host Mathira responded strongly to critics of her body shape, explaining that medical problems have caused changes in her appearance.
A viral video on social media shows Mathira delivering a sharp reply to critics and YouTubers who made inappropriate comments about her size.
In the video, Dr. Omer Adil is heard commenting on Mathira’s size, claiming she “hasn’t had fillers or Botox, but something else.” He also makes inappropriate remarks about women’s sizes.

Mathira dismissed his remarks as nonsense, expressing disappointment and embarrassment over the inappropriate comments made by two individuals regarding her size.

“I have other medical problems including thyroid, due to which my body structure has changed.”

  • Mathira gets upset by Momin Saqib’s talk about death

Mathira gets upset by Momin Saqib’s talk about death

Model and actor Mathira recently criticized fellow actor and host Momin Saqib’s Instagram Stories, calling them “stupid” and worrying about how they might affect people dealing with mental health issues.

In an Instagram post, Mathira said, “I’m sorry but this is so stupid because there are so many people these days [who are] going through tough times, are suicidal and struggling with their mental health. Such videos sometimes break a person more than they make them. Everyone knows we shall all taste death. We need to teach people how they can walk through this rough life instead of just highlighting death.”

In Momin’s Instagram stories, he talked about death while walking through a graveyard. “This is tomorrow. This is the future. This is the only reality, the only certainty in life. This is the future for all of us,” he said. He goes on to add: “No matter what you do, how much money you make, how famous you get, this is the end. All your pride, any failure, any embarrassment in life, a moment of happiness, all of that will end when death comes.”

Momin wanted to remind people that everyone will pass away someday. But Mathira’s reply highlights the need for creators to think about how their content can impact people’s emotions, especially during tough times.

  • Syeda Tuba Anwar opens up about getting death and rape threats

Syeda Tuba Anwar opens up about getting death and rape threats

Actor Syeda Tuba Anwar recently spoke out against violence against women and has admitted that she has been the target of rape and murder threats.

In a podcast teaser, Tuba discussed her ordeal and the threats she received from zealots. The late televangelist and politician Aamir Liaquat’s ex-wife recalled feeling vulnerable in the face of such campaigns.

She mentioned having to cope with nasty online and offline trolling, labeling her as naive to handle the humiliating trends. According to Tuba, she never considered how the general public would respond before starting the connection.

In response to scandalous efforts, she stated that it was acceptable to utilize another person as a stepping stone to stardom. In order to shed light on her divorce, Tuba stated she had to go through a lot. She also noted that divorce is still stigmatized in society, and she had no idea she would have to go through such anguish.

Social media users criticized Tuba for being a “house wrecker” of the well-known politician who passed away last year after she was linked to one of them.

Last year she discussed the problematic culture of victim blaming in an interview with BBC Urdu. The former wife of late televangelist Aamir Liaquat Hussain, has been quite vocal about how violence against women often ends up in harsh victim blaming instead of a strong judicial support system in the country.

The starlet started campaigning for awareness regarding Noor Mukadam’s case especially because she could “relate” to the experience.

While opening up about supporting the late Noor Mukadam , the Bichoo star said, “Noor Mukadam’s incident was one such incident which came at the point when I was going through a lot in my life, I could connect to Noor on another level, I had never met Noor but I felt very deeply for her, because there were a lot of things which I faced, probably, I can’t tell all things, I don’t know why people victim blame in our society.”

Syeda added, “I believe I should raise my voice to educate people and I will keep on doing that”.

“There’s a norm of victim blaming in our society. I don’t understand why it happens, to be honest, maybe it’s a lack of education or perhaps awareness, but I feel like it is my responsibility as a public figure to aware people of what’s happening around them. If around such sensitive topics, even if one person learns or unlearns their toxic behaviours from me, then I feel like my purpose is complete,” she added about the need to make people aware of how blaming the victim only makes the problem worse.

Tuba also addressed cyber trolling on social media. She is often trending on social media for various reasons, mostly connected to her ex-husband and her negative roles on television. Speaking about how she deals with the heavy doses of negative trolling from social media, she said, “When this all started, I’d get very emotional and I couldn’t process why people were doing that to me. It still happens sometimes but you know, I often think about how all of us in our lives dislike people around us but for people to actually open their social media and type out curses for me, I can only imagine how much negativity they store within them. I think all of us should think 100 times before writing anything about how our words can impact someone.”

She further emphasised that it’s not just her who faces negative trolling, no other celebrity is spared. “It’s not just me. I’ll open any celebrity’s page, and there will be at least one comment that spews hate for them and has a curse word in it. Some people just have it worse.”

Tuba’s comment garnered backlash from fellow actor Mathira.

Tuba Anwar and Mathira's virtual spat gets serious

Mathira grilled the newbie and said that Aamir helped her in creating a name in the entertainment industry and hence Tuba should be thankful to him rather than “seeking attention.” She said the Bisaat actress should learn to respect and forgive the deceased.

In response to the Blind Love diva’s remarks, Anwar clapped back at Mathira on Instagram for making false assumptions. Anwar said that Mathira should check the complete interview and she should think before meddling in others’ personal lives. Tuba also revealed that she called Mathira to clarify things but the host didn’t take up her call.

Aamir Liaquat, PTI dissident and member of the National Assembly (MNA), passed away in Karachi on June 9. His death under mysterious circumstances came as a shock to the media industry and people vented anger at the social media trolls who had hounded the famous TV host for his botched third marriage.

The body was received by the late anchor’s son and the last rites were conducted by Chippa. Hussain was laid to rest in a graveyard on the premises of the Abdullah Shah Ghazi shrine in Clifton, Karachi.

Later on, a controversy took place over his exhumation to ascertain the cause of death, however, the procedure was not performed after a court ruled against it.

When the video was released, Mathira took to her Instagram stories to condemn the act of leaking nude videos of Aamir Liaquat by his former wife Dania Shah. She believes that it’s a ‘below the belt’ act by Shah against her ex and should be dealt with legal action.
