Is she or isn’t she? Rumours about everybody’s favourite star Mawra Hocane being pregnant have been raging on social media so the actress decided to finally address them.

Sharing a series of pictures on her Instagram account, the Sabaat actress negated the false news about her pregnancy, saying, “The rumors are NOT true // let me enjoy my ‘dum naal dum bharan gi’ era.”

In the pictures, the actress can be seen dressed up in a green suit with subtle makeup that enhanced her natural beauty while her hair are left flowing down her back in curls. She adorned herself with minimal jewelry and opted for a khussa to complete the desi look.

Her followers showered their love for the actress in the commets. Fellow actresses Kubra Khan and Aiman Khan also admired her beauty on the same post.

Mawra tied the knot with her long-time love interest Ameer Gillani in Pakistan on February 5, 2025. The actress shared beautiful wedding photos online and netizens showered the couple with love.

Pakistani star Mawra Hocane is winning hearts once again with her stunning appearance in Indian singer Akhil Sachdeva’s new music video, Tu Chaand Hai, released on April 4. Dressed in elegant outfits and set against sunny, scenic backdrops, Mawra looks absolutely gorgeous.

Before the release, Mawra announced the collaboration on Instagram, writing, “Tu Chaand Hai – a special one from us to you. Speaking to Times of India, Mawra shared her joy: “Music videos have always fascinated me, and I couldn’t have asked for a better song coming my way. Tu Chaand Hai is pure magic.”

Akhil added, “Her presence makes this song even more emotional. Mawra brought this song to life on screen in the most beautiful way.”

This cross-border collaboration comes on the heels of Mawra’s unexpected win at the box office — the re-release of her 2016 Bollywood debut, Sanam Teri Kasam, became a surprise hit. Industry legends like Vidya Balan and Anil Kapoor even praised her performance.

Sharing her excitement in March, Mawra posted, “Not me fainting at the numbers that Sanam Teri Kasam re-release is doing. Absolutely magical!” She added, “Sanam Teri Kasam re-releasing is a testament to the fact that you can’t get more than what your time and fate can offer… They’re saying we’ve made history.”

Bollywood movie Sanam Teri Kasam, starring Harshvardhan Rane and Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane, was re-released in cinemas in India on February 7. Since then, it has received praise from big Indian names including Vidya Balan, Anil Kapoor, and John Abraham.

The romantic drama was originally released in 2016. The movie was somewhat of a flop, earning only Rs 9.11 crore in India, with a worldwide gross of Rs 16.03 crore.

But now, Sanam Teri Kasam has become a commercial success, becoming the second highest-grossing re-released Indian film to date.

According to the media, on the seventh day since its re-release, the movie earned 35.15 crore rupees, showing a daily earning jump of 2.15 crore rupees.

Famous Bollywood actress Vidya Balan praised the movie via an Instagram story, writing, “Enjoyed watching this simple love story in the theatre! Congrats to Mawra Hocane, Harshvardhan Rane, Radhika Rao, Vinay Sapru, Kaleem Khan”

She added, applauding the Pakistani actress, “Mawra, you are amazing.”

Another Bollywood legend, Anil Kapoor, congratulated the team on its successful re-release via Instagram stories, writing, “Congratulations to (producer) Deepak Mukut and the entire Sanam Teri Kasam team on its re-release! The film has already won hearts, and its success is truly well-earned. Wishing Harshvardhan Rane, Mawra Hocane, Soham Rockstar Entertainment, (co-producer) Hunar Mukut, and everyone involved even more milestones ahead!”

Mawra Hocane responded, “Thank you, Anil Kapoor sir!”

John Abraham, commended the movie’s success on his Instagram, writing in his story, “Finally, Harshvardhan Rane, you have got your due!”

To this, Harshvardhan responded, “Thank you, my sir! I have learnt patience and working hard with my standards always up and my head always down from you – the OG,”

Jumping in the fan club was Arjun Rampal who posted on his instagram, “So so happy, for Harshvardhan Rane, Deepak Mukut, and Hunar Mukut for this. Harshvardhan has been manifesting this since I have known him. This is a true example of ‘if you desire something with a pure heart, the universe listens’,”

Harshvardhan responded in the comments saying, “Sir, the fact that you notice others’ dreams makes you such a sweet human being.”

Indian influencer calls Mawra’s dress ‘tacky’?

Indian fashion influencer Sufi Motiwala, known for his commentary on celebrity outfits, recently sparked controversy with his critique of Pakistani actor Mawra’s wedding look shortly after she tied the knot with actor Ameer Gilani.

In a video, he called the fabric of Mawra’s lehenga “tacky” and “questionable.”

Pakistani stylist Zahra Sarfraz did not hold back in responding, calling Sufi “tacky” for his limited appreciation of fashion.

“What I find truly tacky is living outside the world of originality, sticking to two to three designers, making yourself feel better with that one label,” she remarked in her counter-video.

She also took the opportunity to educate the Indian influencer and his followers on the sentimental value behind Mawra’s wedding attire. She explained that the Sanam Teri Kasam actor had built her entire bridal look around her mother-in-law’s dupatta.
