Pakistanis start revealing ‘effects of nuclear radiation’ after Indian media’s claims

Some Indian social media users, including journalists and media personnel, bizarrely claimed that nuclear radiation is leaking in Pakistan after an Indian Air Force (IAF) strike on an alleged nuclear facility at Kirana Hills in Pakistan on Friday night.

Always on the look out for content, Pakistani users went into hyperdrive with a barrage of memes to respond to the false news.

A fake notification, popping up on Indian social media, says the Ministry of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination in Pakistan  claimed that radiation is leaking on Sunday during the transfer of a sophisticated mechanism in the northern region of Pakistan.

In a joint press conference on Sunday, Indian Air Marshal AK Bharti dismissed the rumours of a strike at Kirana Hills, saying, “We have not hit whatever there is.”

Senior officials, Lt. Gen. Rajeev Ghai from the Indian Army and Vice Admiral A N Pramod from the Navy, were also present at the briefing.

Despite clarifications, some Indian netizens began sharing a Facebook post of Chrystal Flippo, calling her a “US radiation expert,” saying that smaller bomb explosions have caused nuclear radiation in the country.

An Indian X (formerly Twitter) named “Voice of Hindus” wrote in a post on X, “Big Breaking. Medical emergency in Pakistan: nuclear radiation is spreading.”

Another Indian account went on to further claim, “Nuclear emergency declared in Islamabad/Federal, southern KPK including Kohat, Banu, Laki Marwat, Haripur, and northern areas of Punjab, Murree, Jehlum, Chakwal, Attock.”

Pakistani social media users took no time to react to the misinformation spread by some Indian netizens as they initiated a meme fest. A social media user shared a picture of former federal minister of Pakistan, Fawad Chaudhry, in a white lab coat. The caption of the post read, “The government of Pakistan appointed a scientist to deal with the nuclear radiation spread.” Fawad himself quoted the tweet with laughter.

Another social media user, while sharing an old picture of former Pakistani cricketer Ramiz Raja with messy hair, wrote, “Ramiz Raja after nuclear radiation spread.”

  • Pakistan strikes back at India with memes, again

Pakistan strikes back at India with memes, again

Indian social media users are actively using platforms like Instagram and X to spread false information amid rising cross-border tensions between Pakistan and India. Many posts falsely claim that the Indian military has invaded Pakistan and taken control of various regions, including major cities such as Lahore and Karachi. These baseless statements have triggered a digital storm and sparked a meme war that is now dominating social media.

While the situation on the ground remains serious, the online space has become a battleground of viral content, misinformation, and exaggerated narratives. Pakistani users have responded with sharp wit and sarcasm, using memes as a form of resistance and satire.

‘Go Donut go’; Lawyer protest outside Supreme Court has internet laughing

A small number of lawyers protested outside the Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan yesterday, chanting, “Go donut go,” referring to the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa.

The slogan “Go donut go” was raised after a month-old video appeared on social media showing CJP Qazi Faez Isa, along with his family, attempting to purchase donuts at Crusteez Donuts in Islamabad Blue Area, where an employee was rude to him while recording the incident.

Advocate Salman Akram Raja, while addressing the protest, said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) came out to protest for the rule of law and constitution.

However, the small numbers and slogans got social media laughing. Here are some funny tweets:

  • Bilawal hon aur memes na hon, aisa kaisay ho sakta hai?

Bilawal hon aur memes na hon, aisa kaisay ho sakta hai?

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari unintentionally created a hilarious moment while talking to the media in Karachi on Monday.

Replying to a question about the possibility of a Constitutional Court, he said, “We should think about that. Woh kehtay hain na, aap ungli daitay hain, woh poora….”. He then smilingly made a gesture that depicts length but could also be interpreted as an obnoxious one.

It was only after the room erupted into laughter that he realised his mistake. “No, in angraizi. I’m not talking about…” he laughingly said as more laughs rang across the press conference. The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairperson then smilingly put his hand to his forehead.

He said that he was referring to the English saying, ‘If you give an inch, they will take a mile.’

Bilawal then started talking about Article 186 of the Constitution but broke off mid-sentence to say, “Taubah, jo memes bannain gay.” Members of the media again burst into laughter.

Expect a deluge of memes in the coming days on the slip of the tongue.

  • Twitter in fits with reporting over jobless people’s attack on Indian parliament

Twitter in fits with reporting over jobless people’s attack on Indian parliament

Two unidentified persons were detained after they jumped into the lower house of Indian Parliament chamber, while the winter session of the Parliament was underway.

The Delhi Police also arrested two other persons – a man and a woman from outside the Parliament, for protesting with coloured smoke.
The incident took place as the country was commemorating the attack on Indian Parliament in 2001.

As per Indian media reports, the culprits were seated in the visitors’ gallery and hiding the canisters in their shoes. Parliamentary members told journalists that the protestors raised slogans “Dictatorship will not be accepted”.

Parliament security staff took the duo — identified as Sagar Sharma, 25, from Lucknow, and Manoranjan D, 35, from Mysore — into custody after they were beaten by MPs, reporters said.

Two others — Neelam Singh, 42, from Hisar in Haryana and Amol Shinde, 25, from Latur in Maharashtra — were arrested from a spot near Parliament House where they too opened smoke canisters soon after the incident in Lok Sabha.

The breach has shocked the lawmakers and nation alike.

But the internet’s meme brigade made the most of it. One user posted the video of parliamentarians beating up the protestor and captioned it with a laughing emoji, “Who says India doesn’t have unity”.

A user said, “Even my mobile pattern is more secure than the Indian Parliament.”

Several others used clips from Bollywood and other movies to mock the security of the parliament.

While Prime Minister Narendra Modi was not in the parliament, critics lambasted his government for the lapse in security of a high-profile place like Lok Sabha.

Another trolled the BJP parliamentarians shouting space out amid the attack of the intruders saying were they waiting for a “chota bheem” to save their day.

However, reporting by different media outlets outside the parliament has Twitter in fits.

Two reporters were seen fighting over the smoke canister while the third one took the benefit and ran away from the spot.

A user mockingly suggested that these courageous reporters should be deployed on borders and the army should be given the task of reporting.

Journalist Anil Tiwari commented that “Media students should learn from this video that besides reporting skills, surviving in the media industry may require abilities like snatching, punching, running, etc”.

Using a Bollywood movie reference a netizen trolled the journalists fighting for a smoke canister.

Amidst this laughing riot over the reporting, the lady reporter Pallavi Ghosh famous for her swift and aggressive reporting defended herself on Twitter by posting, “End of the day – yes the video looks funny but as a reporter on the ground my Instinct not to let go”

The internet is mocking ‘rich, pampered’ Suhana Khan’s bizzare explanation of sustainability

Actor Suhana Khan is going viral for all the wrong reasons after she rather bizarrely explained sustainability using actress Alia Bhatt’s example. The daughter of superstar Shah Rukh Khan applauded the ‘Gangubai’ actress for re-wearing a saari while receiving the National Award.

X (formerly Twitter) users were dumbfounded by this bizarre comparison because Alia Bhatt did not invent sustainability? People have re worn clothes for more than one formal occasion? And several celebrities have also done the same thing?

No Hollywood celebrity showed up to Gal Gadot’s propaganda film screening, and Twitter is in fits

Social media was outraged when it was announced that former IDF soldier, actress Gal Gadot, will be hosting a private screening for celebrities at the Museum of Tolerance, depicting the attacks of October 7. However, Twitter was in fits when Israeli supporter Eve Barlow complained that no Hollywood celebrity-including Gadot herself- had shown up for the event. Viral videos showed protests erupting outside the museum with Palestinian supporters calling for an end to the genocide in Gaza.

“Last night at the Museum of Tolerance, Hollywood was supposed to gather to watch the footage from October 7. Not a single celebrity showed up. F*** their ribbons, and their marches and their signatures. There is no fortitude in Hollywood. They are all a bunch of cowards.”
