Actress and television host Javeria Saud does not hold back if confronted with bad behaviour, even if the perpetrator is a fan.

She recently opened up about a disturbing experience with a persistent admirer who showed up at her home every day.

Speaking on the comedy talk show Mazaaq Raat, Javeria shared a personal incident from the early days of her career, before she got married. She said that since she had already started acting in television dramas by then, many people recognized her.

“During those days, there was a fan who began coming to my house every single day,” she revealed. “Whenever I returned home, he would be standing at the gate, sometimes with flowers, other times with gifts.”

Javeria highlighted how, at that time, young women often felt scared by such behavior, although, in her view, it was the stalker who should have been afraid.

“Girls used to be scared of these things, but in reality, the one doing it should feel fear,” she said. “But due to family pressure and societal norms, girls would stay quiet and try to ignore it.”

She went on to describe the turning point in the incident, “I didn’t say anything to him as long as he remained silent. But one day, he finally spoke to me and said something like, ‘You act all innocent, as if you don’t know who I’m here for. I’m your biggest fan.’”

That’s when Javeria decided she had had enough. “I grabbed my handbag, which was full of makeup and other things, and swung it right at his face,” she recalled. “I told him, ‘You’ve made a spectacle out of this! You’ve been coming here every day for three months. Everyone in the neighborhood is watching this nonsense.’”

She further disclosed that the fan used to sit in an abandoned house right next to hers, which made it difficult for anyone to remove him from the area.

Eventually, when her family found out about the situation, they took action. “My father and uncle investigated who he was and went to his family to lodge a complaint,” she said.

She also recalled she had to leave her acting career due workplace mistreatment issues.

Javeria Saud’s story sheds light on the uncomfortable and often unspoken challenges female celebrities can face, even in their personal spaces. In a recent interview, actor Faysal Quraishi also shed light on workplace harassment, saying: “If a girl faces harassment at work, like being called into an office unnecessarily, many stay silent out of fear. They’re worried they’ll lose their job, which they may have gotten after great difficulty. But these small incidents can snowball into bigger issues later,” he emphasized.

He went on to say: “Families must support their daughters. If they face such situations, it’s critical they speak up. Either leave the job or take a stand against the harasser. But they should not suffer in silence.” He stressed the need for awareness and communication at home, stating, “Nothing helps more than knowing your family stands with you.”

Pakistani actress Madiha Imam, known for her grace and on-screen innocence, recently shared a rather unexpected and humorous story from her past while appearing on Tabish Hashmi’s talk show.

The actress revealed how her first solo international trip almost led to her arrest in Türkiye.

Madiha said it happened during her first-ever flight and work trip abroad. After completing a shoot in Türkiye, she decided to explore the local culture and enjoy a famous Turkish fruit plate from a street vendor.

“I had just finished my shoot and thought I should explore a bit. I heard about the famous Turkish fruit plates and went to try one,” she said. After eating, she paid the street hawker. “As soon as I handed him the money, he looked at me in a strange way. Turkish people are so good-looking that even when they’re making a weird face, they still look beautiful,” she joked. “I thought maybe he was happy that I gave him a good tip.”

However, the situation quickly took a serious turn. The vendor returned with a police officer, both of whom began yelling at her. Madiha, who described herself as young and scared at the time, was confused and frightened.

“I kept saying, ‘I just had a fruit plate!’” she recalled. It turned out that the currency she used to pay for the fruit was fake. “Can you believe it? The fake money came from Pakistan. I had no idea,” she said with a laugh.

While she shared that she was saved by a kind-hearted Turkish driver who paid for her as he noticed Madiha was no fraud and a “good, frightened little girl”.

In another lighter story shared during the same show, Madiha talked about an adorable moment from her early career. During a live show years ago, while discussing general needs during Karachi’s rainy season and donation drives, she casually mentioned that she needed a microwave, but her parents weren’t buying one.

Soon after, a ticker ran across the screen during the live show, reading: ‘We’ve transferred Rs. 20,000 to your account, please buy the microwave.’ She added, smiling, “Let me be clear, I never got that money. But it was so sweet. Fans like that are truly heartwarming.”

Madiha Imam started her career as a VJ and gradually moved into acting. She made her drama debut in Ishq Mein Teray in 2013, and her natural acting and girl-next-door charm quickly won her a dedicated fan following. With roles in hit serials like Ishq Jalebi, Dushman-e-Jaan, and Muqaddar, and performances that balance emotional depth with relatability, she continues to be one of Pakistan’s most beloved television stars.

Veteran Pakistani actress Asma Abbas recently shared a lighthearted and personal story during her appearance on a morning show, revealing the unusual yet humorous advice she gave to her youngest son before his honeymoon in Thailand.

Speaking candidly, Asma Abbas said, “When my younger son was going to Thailand for his honeymoon, I told him to take his wife to a club. I said, ‘It’s dark there and no one knows you!’”

She laughed as she recalled how her son burst out laughing at her unexpected suggestion.

The actress also opened up about her approach to parenting and matchmaking. She stated that she was always aware of her sons’ personalities and habits, which made it easier for her to help find suitable life partners for them.

“I knew my sons well, so choosing the right daughters-in-law wasn’t difficult. I considered their preferences as well as my own when finalizing their marriages,” she explained.

Asma revealed that while her elder sons were more open and often on the phone with girls before marriage, her youngest seemed more reserved until she found out he had been secretly dating someone for six months. “He turned out to be even smarter than his older brothers,” she said with a smile.

She further shared that although the girl came from a different community and her family was initially reluctant due to caste considerations, they eventually agreed to the marriage.

Describing her younger daughter-in-law, Asma Abbas said, “She was simple and well-mannered. She didn’t even know how to wear a saree or dress fashionably. I personally taught her how to carry herself, what to wear, and how to style it.”

Asma recently revealed that she has a strong passion for dressing up and takes great pride in her appearance, so much so that she has never repeated an outfit at any public appearance.

Asma, in a previous interview, shed light on the lack of romantic representation for older women in Pakistani television dramas and questioned the stereotypes surrounding married life in desi culture.

“We’re very chill. Why can’t we have love stories,” she asked rhetorically. “Bushra Aapa got married, Samina Aapa got married… why can’t we be romantic? Have we been reduced to just arranging tea,” she said, referring to veteran actresses Bushra Ansari and Samina Ahmed, both of whom got remarried at a later age in life.

The actress expressed frustration over how television rarely shows mature couples engaging in lighthearted or romantic conversations.

Model and actress Saheefa Jabbar Khattak has spoken out against the behavior of contestants on reality show Tamasha Season 4, expressing concern over the impact their actions may have on their personal reputations.

In a strongly-worded statement on her Instagram story, Saheefa criticized the lack of restraint and self-awareness among some participants, urging them to think before they speak or act on national television.

The ongoing fourth season of the Pakistani reality show Tamasha has courtes controversy, not only for the drama within the house but also because its moral and social implications have come under scrutiny. Among the critics, Saheefa Jabbar has voiced her disappointment after watching the show for the first time.

In her statement, Saheefa said, “I’ve never followed shows like Bigg Boss, Tamasha, or Love Island in my life. But this is the first time I’m watching Tamasha 4. I can’t speak for the previous seasons, but for now, one person who stands out positively is Saif. He hasn’t crossed any lines, seems like a good judge of character, remains loyal to his friends, and always speaks the truth.”

She further emphasized the importance of self-respect and accountability, adding, “He repeatedly tells others not to say things that they would regret watching later. We are still embarrassed by some of our own past recorded interviews. These people who go on Tamasha and create such spectacles don’t realize how much they are damaging their own image. For God’s sake, think before you speak on social media or create video content.”

The criticism comes at a time when Tamasha Season 4 is already under scrutiny, despite hosting its largest prize offering to date. In the premiere episode, host Adnan Siddiqui announced that the winner would take home Rs. 50 lakh, which is the highest in the show’s history.

Unlike its earlier seasons, which featured well-known celebrities, Tamasha 4 has brought in lesser-known individuals from various creative fields, including aspiring actors, singers, and performers. Many of these contestants have yet to make a name for themselves in the industry.

This is not the first time that the actress has slammed the show. Previously, the actress addressed petty topics in the show like “fights over bread, curry, and potatoes; foul language; and everyone just trying to put each other down, only for screen time.”
