    Lahore private schools ‘condemns the incident’ after video of three girls torturing fellow girl goes viral

    Lahore Police have initiated an inquiry of the alleged torture incident of a student by her classmates at a private school in Lahore, ARY has reported.


    A video of the incident shows three girls forcing their classmate to the ground, then sitting on her back. One of the girls can be seen pulling the victim’s hair and swearing at her while making her apologise .


    The incident’s First Information Report (FIR) has been recorded on the complaint submitted by Imran, the victim’s father, accusing his daughter’s classmate J of being a drug addict and forcing her daughter to do drugs with her.


    According to the FIR, J tormented the victim alongside her sister K, U and N R The victim’s father also said that they stole the gold chain his daughter was wearing.


    Police is yet to arrest the girls named in the FIR.

    The School has issued a statement in this regard saying that “it strongly condemns the incident that recently took place.”

    “Our school culture is our highest priority and we uphold our core values of honor, respect, compassion and responsibility,”

    Terrorists opened fire on five police officers on Thursday who were guarding polio workers in Dera Ismail Khan, injuring five of them, Samaa has reported.
    As per the details the incident happened on Thursday afternoon.


    Five cops were shot during the fierce firefight with the attackers. One terrorist was hurt, however, they all managed to escape.

    The cops were taken to a nearby hospital, where they received the treatment.

    As part of the Rawalpindi Safe City Project, the administration is finalising a plan to monitor every section of the city by placing 4,000 closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras on the roads.

    A spokesman for the Commissioner’s Office stated that Commissioner Saqib Manan had presided over a meeting to discuss the status of the Rawalpindi Safe City Project. He said that in order to increase surveillance and keep a close check on criminal activity in Rawalpindi, the Punjab government had chosen to engage in a contract with the Safe City Authority to put CCTV cameras in the city, according to The News.

    The meeting was informed that 950 locations had been chosen in Rawalpindi where around 4,000 cameras would be installed to monitor the city.

    He stated that the integrated system these CCTV cameras will operate under would assist reduce crime and strengthen the city’s law and order situation. Along with car tracking and surveillance, the idea would aid the police and the local government in managing traffic signals. Additionally, the project would be crucial in providing security during significant public events.

    In order to preserve peace and order in large cities, traffic control, and other public amenities, he claimed that current technology was employed everywhere; this system would also be implemented in Rawalpindi.

    A control and command centre would be built at the City Police Office, according to the spokesperson. He continued by saying that it would govern quick emergency and police responses, including intelligent traffic management, police unit dispatch, Rescue 1122 response, criminal identification, and virtual surveillance.

    The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has released its annual performance report for 2022.

    The 15 Emergency Helpline received 2,73,61,000 calls, 32,80,141 cases involving grave concerns, and cases for further action were generated by the dispatch control centre. 1,65,25,000 calls were surprisingly deemed irrelevant.

    Police investigators and the Court of Law received 2,004 pieces of audio and video evidence from the Electronic Data Analysis Center.

    According to The News, police in Lahore reported 2,34,000 suspicious observations from PSCA’s Operations and Monitoring Center. In addition to recovering 1,230 motorcycles, 30 vehicles, and 27 auto rickshaws and returning them to their owners, the PSCA Lost & Found centre assisted in the recovery of 109 missing people. 3,736 social media pages were reported to LEAs by the Media Management Center.

    Additionally, 2,790 campaign messages about road safety, effective use of the 15 emergency helplines, and other topics were carried on official social media pages and radio by MMC, PSCA WebTV, and Radio Safe City 88.6. PSCA is committed to extending its assistance and collaboration to LEAs and any other parties in need as needed. 15 helplines are available for residents to call in case of an emergency or to report criminal activities in the city.

    According to The News, teams from the Dolphins squad, PRU, Elite Force, and police stations, according to CCPO Lahore, will make sure that sensitive and major locations are continuously patrolled on New Year’s Eve.     A resident of Karachi, identified as Fawad, killed his wife and three daughters in Shamsi Society in Malir before attempting suicide. He is now admitted in a hospital where his condition is said to be critical.

    Local police have said that they found the bloodied remains of a woman aged 38 and three girls, 16, 12, and 10 in the house.

    According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sajid Sadozai, the man first killed his daughters then his wife with a sharp-edged tool as a knife has been recovered from the scene. He also added the incident was the result of an internal dispute within the family.

    “The suspect, a sales manager at a spice-selling company by profession, tried to commit suicide after killing his wife and daughters,” the police official said.

    The SSP said the house was locked from the inside after the murders, “which indicates the suspect was behind the killings”.

    When the incident happened, Fawad’s brother, whose family lives just one floor below Fawad’s, was at work and the neighbours were also unaware of the incident.

    There is a risk of violence during Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) long march, the federal police stated in a report submitted to Islamabad High Court (IHC).

    Citing PTI leader Amin Ali Gandapur, the report says, “He has threatened that they [protesters] will gather at Islamabad with arms and persuaded its [PTI] workers to bring their weapons during the long march at Islamabad”.

    Moreover, it stated that some PTI leaders had extended death threats to Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah and PTI chief Imran Khan has admitted that some of his supporters were armed with pistols during the party’s May 25 march.

    The report alleged PTI workers usually participated in the march on vehicles, motorcycles and cranes and “spread terror amongst the public”.

    The police, in its report, also detailed precautionary measures taken by them ahead of the long march, including ensuring that no procession or activity by a political party was allowed into the Red Zone, the extension of Red Zone, imposition of Section 144 in the capital and a ban on displaying, carrying or bringing firearms in the Red Zone.

    Currently, the PTI is marching toward the capital and has sought approval from the authorities to stage a protest/sit-in there.

    Lahore police initiates crackdown against professional beggars

    On the orders of Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore, Additional IG Ghulam Mahmood Dogar, special squads of the Lahore Police have started a crackdown against habitual and professional beggars in an effort to free the provincial capital of this annoyance.

    In keeping with its campaign against professional panhandlers, Lahore Police has so far detained 254 panhandlers, comprising 249 men and 5 women, from various parts of the city in cooperation with the Punjab Child Protection and Welfare Bureau (PCPWB) and other relevant agencies.

    While adult addict beggars were admitted to rehabilitation wards of relevant institutions chosen by the government in this regard, Lahore Police turned over the children beggars to the PCPWB.

    In accordance with the “Anti Beggary Act,” Lahore Police have so far this year detained 3,681 professional beggars, comprising 3,518 men and 150 women, and have filed 3,623 cases against them at various police stations throughout the city.

    As a result, during the crackdown, the Model Town division police detained 640 beggars while the City division police arrested 763, the Cantt division 546, the Civil Lines division police 425, the Iqbal Town division 546, and the Sadar division 701 beggars. Beggars who obstruct traffic at intersections and traffic signals have been the subject of separate action by the city traffic police, according to The News.

    According to the CCPO of Lahore, all divisional SsP have been given the unique responsibility of apprehending professional, falsely disabled, and regular beggars because the majority of them have criminal histories yet pose as beggars. Traffic police officers have been working with Lahore police special units to combat organised crime groups and professional begging.

    Police issues warning of possible TTP attacks across Balochistan

    Balochistan police issued a security alert on Thursday and warned of possible attacks by the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) across the province.

    According to the letter issued by the Central Police Office in Quetta, the banned outfit has threatened to launch attacks in different cities of Balochistan, possibly including Zhob, Qila Saifullah, Ziarat, and Loralai.

    Moreover, the letter says that the police and other law enforcement agencies need to be vigilant and improve security arrangements.

    Earlier, the interior ministry issued an alert over the increasing threat of terrorist attacks by TTP.

    It is pertinent to mention that earlier this month, Senator Raza Rabbani, on a point of public concern, asked Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani to direct the interior minister to take parliament and the public at large into confidence about the present status of peace talks with the TTP.
