Zara Noor Abbas responds to speculation about Sajal Aly

Actor Zara Noor Abbas Siddiqui spoke candidly about her career, personal growth, and industry friendships during an appearance on the Excuse Me with Ahmed Ali Butt podcast. One of the most anticipated topics of the conversation was her relationship with fellow actor Sajal Aly, which has been the subject of public speculation following their brief social media fallout.

When host Ahmed Ali Butt asked directly about Aly, Siddiqui responded, “She is doing well.” Butt followed up immediately, asking, “Acha? How long has it been since you guys talked?” Siddiqui confirmed that they had spoken recently, prompting Butt to laugh and call it a “lie.”

The actor addressed the speculation, saying, “Okay, I can’t understand how people think that if two have unfollowed each other then that means they don’t talk to each other,” highlighting the disconnect between social media actions and real-life relationships.

Siddiqui reflected on the nature of friendships in the entertainment industry, noting that public perception often oversimplifies complex dynamics. She said, “I think it is easier, to point fingers at the person who is most flamboyant in the room, to say that ‘He is the killer’, so it is very easy, and I have always had that ‘she is the killer, she said it’ vibe.” She added that both she and Aly have simply entered different phases of life: “I think we have gone into many different scenarios now.”

The conversation then expanded to industry culture and networking. Siddiqui acknowledged the gossip-driven environment actors often face, saying, “I think everybody talks about everybody.”

She added that her approach to visibility has evolved, and she no longer feels the same pressure to constantly “grind” as newcomers do. She highlighted the importance of being cautious in forming relationships within the industry.

Siddiqui also discussed gender dynamics in professional friendships, stating, “Men are better friends than girls.” She explained that proximity within the same field can complicate female friendships: “The moment they are in the vicinity of your field or any such interaction, the whole room changes, the energy changes, and then you’re like what is happening, but men don’t have that.”

She admitted that failed friendships have left a lasting impact, repeatedly emphasising that she would now avoid certain friendships.

Sajal Aly breaks silence on marriage rumours with Hamza Sohail

Actress Sajal Aly has addressed swirling rumours about her alleged wedding plans with fellow actor Hamza Sohail, dismissing speculation that the pair will marry in early 2026.

The actress took to her Instagram story with a clear message after multiple social media pages began circulating reports about wedding preparations. “Chill guys! Any life news, if ever, will come directly from me,” she wrote.

Both actors rank among Pakistan’s most popular television stars.

Sajal Aly built her reputation through acclaimed dramas including O Rangreza, Gul-e-Rana, Chup Raho, Yaqeen Ka Safar, Ye Dil Mera, Aangan, Dhoop Ki Deewar, Kuch Ankahi, Sinf-e-Aahan and Main Manto Nahi Hoon.

Hamza Sohail gained recognition through successful serials like Fairy Tale Season 1 and 2, Zard Patton Ka Ban, Burns Road Ke Romeo Juliet and Dil Wali Gali Mein.

The two first appeared together in Zard Patton Ka Ban, where audiences praised their on-screen chemistry. They reunited for Dil Wali Gali Mein, which solidified their pairing as a fan favourite.

Neither actor has publicly confirmed any romantic relationship. However, fans responded enthusiastically to the marriage rumours, flooding social media with congratulations and good wishes.

  • Tara Sutaria or Sajal Aly? Who wore Shehla Chatoor’s glamorous black dress better…

Tara Sutaria or Sajal Aly? Who wore Shehla Chatoor’s glamorous black dress better…

In an unexpected style showdown, Pakistani superstar Sajal Aly and Bollywood actress Tara Sutaria were spotted wearing the same glittering black ensemble by designer Shehla Chatoor, but fans have made it clear who wore it better.

Sajal Aly debuted the heavily embellished black dress at the 10th Hum Awards, where she also bagged the Best Actor – Female award for her poignant role in Zard Patton Ka Bunn, a drama that tackled themes of female empowerment and societal resistance.

Despite the major win and the star power she brought to the red carpet coming out of a Ferrari, Sajal’s look fell surprisingly flat for fans.

Styled with silver crystal earrings and a sleek tied hairstyle, many felt the actress’s overall look lacked the flair expected from a red carpet appearance. Some fashion critics pointed out that the tightly pulled hair made the ensemble appear “overworked” and didn’t complement the starlit aura of the dress.

On the other hand, Indian actress Tara Sutaria previously wore the same outfit for the cover shoot of Elle India, and the internet hasn’t forgotten. Tara styled the outfit with a touch of wild elegance, her tousled, loosely braided hair and soft fringe gave the shimmering dress a dreamy, effortless charm. The undone styling contrasted beautifully with the precision of the handcrafted cut-dana work, elevating the dress into a full fashion fantasy.

While Sajal Aly’s powerful on-screen presence continues to win hearts, this style battle has fans agreeing: when it comes to this Shehla Chatoor masterpiece, Tara Sutaria carried it with unmatched grace and attitude.

  • Best and worst looks from 2025 Hum Awards

Best and worst looks from 2025 Hum Awards

Pakistani television stars not only know how to captivate audiences with their performances but also how to shine on a night of glamour and celebration.

The 10th Hum Awards, held in Houston, was nothing short of magical. Our stars dazzled on the red carpet, turning heads with their fashion choices. While many impressed with their style game, a few looks fell short of expectations.

Here’s a round-up of the best and not-so-best looks from one of Pakistan’s most prestigious award shows.

    Best Dressed Celebrities

    Mawra Hocane

Mawra turned heads in a stunning red gown by Gemmy Maalouf featuring a dramatic draped skirt. Channeling a modern-day Barbie, she styled the look with a delicate silver necklace by Hanif Jewelers. The overall ensemble was radiant and elegant, definitely a “wow” out of ten look.

    Hania Aamir

Always a charmer, Hania Aamir made a strong statement in a velvet blue ensemble by Mihha. The look included a sleeveless short shirt, bell-bottom culottes, and a dupatta elegantly draped around her neck. Her silver earrings from Sherezad Rahimtoola added just the right touch of sparkle. She kept her hair loose, complementing the effortless glam.

    Dur-e-Fishan Saleem

Dur-e-Fishan brought timeless grace to the red carpet in a black chiffon saree from Iqbal Hussain’s 2025 collection. Embellished with beadwork on the sleeves, the look was classic yet chic. Her statement earrings by Kundun.co by Fatima Ashar and nude makeup with dark eyes enhanced her dreamy aura. The white sports car she arrived in made the moment even more cinematic.

    Dananeer Mobeen

Dananeer embraced the “party ho rahi hai” spirit in a silk blue gown by Ahmed Manan. With her hair tied in a sleek high ponytail and a minimalist makeup look, she radiated youthful charm and energy.

    Mahira Khan

A timeless icon, Mahira Khan chose an ivory georgette saree by Iqbal Hussain adorned with intricate silk thread and lurex aari embroidery. The hand-embroidered borders, stonework, and subtle sequin spray exuded elegance. With a vintage-inspired side-parted bun, soft smoky eyes, and nude lips, Mahira embodied classic glam. She accessorised the gorgeous apparel with minimal silver jewelry by Sherezad Rahimtoola and silver bangles for a perfect blend of tradition and modernity.

    Ramsha Khan

Ramsha Khan stepped out in a bold, black suit by Nomi Ansari, featuring sequin and silver bead embroidery. Her wet-hair look and dramatic eye makeup gave a sharp, high-fashion edge to her appearance, standing out with confident flair.

    Underwhelming Fashion Choices

    Mehwish Hayat

Known for her impeccable style, Mehwish Hayat surprised many with a red embroidered three-piece shalwar kameez by Hafsa Imran Khan. While her commitment to elegance and culture is admirable, the outfit lacked the glamour typically expected at such an event. She wore her hair down with a center part and paired the outfit with red beaded earrings.

    Sajal Aly

Sajal made a grand entrance in a blue Ferrari, but the fashion didn’t quite match the drama. Her black starry gown, featuring beadwork and cut dana, failed to make a lasting impression. Given her style history, expectations were much higher.

    Sonya Hussaiyn

Sonya Hussaiyn wore a royal blue Sana Safinaz dress that didn’t resonate well with the crowd. Her silver eye makeup and tightly done bun didn’t complement the outfit, resulting in a less cohesive look.

    Kinza Hashmi

Kinza Hashmi’s golden dress by Omrose Couture was a miss. The shiny, silky frock didn’t flatter her the way her outfits usually do. Her dark red lipstick and golden jewelry clashed with the overly glitzy look, making it appear outdated.

    Men Who Stole the Spotlight

The men weren’t far behind on the glam meter. Celebrities like Bilal Abbas, Shuja Asad, Asim Azhar, Hamza Sohail, Humayun Saeed, and Adnan Siddiqui looked dashing in tailored suits and traditional prince coats.

Bilal Abbas Khan stood out in a maroon velvet suit, bringing richness and depth to the awards show, while Shuja Asad impressed in a classic black prince coat by Faizan Ahmed Khan, both giving major heartthrob vibes.

The 10th Hum Awards was a night to remember, full of fun, dance, glamour, and unforgettable moments. From dazzling gowns to bold fashion statements, Pakistani stars proved once again that their style is as powerful as their on-screen presence. While some looks missed the mark, many truly raised the bar, leaving fans in awe and fashion enthusiasts inspired.

  • Saima Noor drops nostalgia bomb with dance on her own song in Main Manto Nahin Hoon

Saima Noor drops nostalgia bomb with dance on her own song in Main Manto Nahin Hoon

Veteran actress Saima Noor has gone viral after performing a dance sequence in the latest episode of the most-talked drama of these days, Main Manto Nahin Hoon.

The drama has garnered a strong following due to its captivating yet controversial storyline. During the onscreen festivities of Sajal Aly’s wedding, Saima, who plays Sajal’s aunt, was seen dancing to a song from her own monster hit Punjabi film from the 1990s Majajan.

The nostalgic moment caught fans by surprise, as Saima brought her iconic cinematic dance style to the television screen. She is joined by several other women, including veteran actress Saba Faisal, who briefly dances alongside her.

The inclusion of a classic film song and Saima’s signature dance moves added a unique flair to the drama and sparked lively reactions on social media. Many praised the actress for gracefully blending her film persona into a television role and bringing a touch of cinematic nostalgia to the small screen.

While Main Manto Nahin Hoon continues to draw in viewers, this particular scene has become a standout moment.

The drama stars Humayun Saeed as a university professor and Sajal Aly as his student, with romantic tension between their characters forming a central plotline. Sanam Saeed also features as a fellow university professor, while Azaan Sami Khan plays a negative role.

The story further explores a longstanding feud between the families of Sajal Aly’s character, led by Asif Raza Mir, and Azaan Sami Khan’s character, played by Babar Ali, adding layers of conflict and drama.

With its mix of romance, rivalry, and now a touch of retro glamour, Main Manto Nahin Hoon continues to remain a hit despite critical panning.

  • ‘Mehwish does not look like a college girl’; Khalil on casting Sajal in Main Manto Nahi Hoon

‘Mehwish does not look like a college girl’; Khalil on casting Sajal in Main Manto Nahi Hoon

Controversial Pakistani drama writer Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar recently commented on why actor Mehwish Hayat was not chosen for the lead female role in the widely discussed drama Main Manto Nahi Hoon.

In an interview with Sheikh Qasim, he stated that Mehwish Hayat does not look like a college student, which was a primary reason for not casting her in the role.

Speaking about the title and theme of the drama, Khalil explained, “The name itself implies that the central character, Manto (played by Humayun Saeed), is not as courageous as the real Manto. Manto was a very brave man who fought against societal disgrace with unmatched courage. I haven’t seen anyone braver than him. His pen was powerful enough to stand against a gun.”

When the host asked about the casting choices, particularly the transition to Sajal Aly, Khalil shared that while Maya Ali’s name was considered early on, they ultimately decided on Sajal. He added, “I hadn’t worked with her before and I felt I owed it to her that we should collaborate. She has done an incredible job, she’s an amazing actress.”

Addressing rumors that Mehwish Hayat was considered for the role, Khalil promptly denied them, clarifying, “Mehwish Hayat doesn’t look like a student, whereas Sajal Aly does. That was the main reason for choosing Sajal over others, including Maya Ali. Sajal is not only a very established actress but also visually fits the role of a student, which was crucial for the character.”

On the controversy surrounding the drama on social media, Khalil acknowledged the criticism but said, “Many have appreciated the drama as well. Those who criticize are entitled to their opinions. If someone has the ability to write, they also have the right to critique and comment.”

Main Manto Nahi Hoon has faced significant backlash online for multiple reasons. The central romance between a teacher and a student has been a particular point of contention. Actor Humayun Saeed, who plays the lead role, addressed the criticism by saying such relationships have occurred in reality. The drama has also been criticised for its bold dialogue and for using Manto’s name, despite having no direct connection to the legendary writer.

However, the show features a star-studded cast and continues to receive widespread viewership and praise from audiences.

  • ‘Weak and unconvincing’: Nadia Khan mocks Saima Noor, Sajal Aly’s dialogue delivery in Main Manto Nahi Hoon

‘Weak and unconvincing’: Nadia Khan mocks Saima Noor, Sajal Aly’s dialogue delivery in Main Manto Nahi Hoon

TV host and commentator Nadia Khan has mocked Saima Noor and Sajal Aly for their dialogue delivery in the latest drama Main Manto Nahi Hoon, saying that the characters sound weak and unconvincing.

The drama has been airing on ARY for the past few weeks and has received mixed reactions for its story and characters. In the series, Sajal plays the role of Saima Noor’s niece while Humayun Saeed and Sanam Saeed portray university professors.

While Main Manto Nahi Hoon earlier faced criticism for showing a romantic relationship between a teacher and student, the on-screen chemistry between Saima and Sajal as aunt and niece has received positive feedback.

However, Nadia Khan has now openly mocked both actors, saying their dialogues sound weak and unconvincing.

While imitating their delivery, Nadia sarcastically reenacted several lines, making exaggerated facial expressions. She said Sajal’s character says things like, “Mujhe birthday party mein jana hai,” to which Saima’s character responds, “Toh chali jao.”

She continued, saying, “Abbu ijaazat nahi denge,” and Saima replies, “Toh mana lo.” Then, “Abbu maarenge,” and Saima replies, “Toh mar jao.”

Nadia also criticised Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar’s writing without naming him, and said the characters had been given poorly-written dialogues. “Saima’s character should not have had such weak dialogues,” she said and added that dialogues should have been argumentative and powerful.

The remarks, however, didn’t sit well with many on social media. Some users accused her of constantly mocking others instead of offering constructive criticism while some said she herself was a “failed actress”.

Several people also pointed out that this wasn’t the first time Nadia had targeted a drama written by controversial writer Qamar, suggesting there might be a personal grudge involved.

  • Farhan Saeed and Sajal Aly set to star together in new love story ‘Tu Jo Mila’

Farhan Saeed and Sajal Aly set to star together in new love story ‘Tu Jo Mila’

Actors Farhan Saeed and Sajal Aly are all set to share the screen in an upcoming project titled Tu Jo Mila, and drama fans across social media are very excited.

Farhan is currently charming audiences as Farhad in Shirin Farhad, while Sajal was last seen in the Ramzan special Dil Wali Gali Mein opposite Hamza Sohail earlier this year. With both actors already making waves, the idea of them working together has drama lovers buzzing.

The project is said to be produced by Six Sigma Plus, a trusted name in the industry, with Qasim Ali Mureed directing. Known for his work on Prem Gali, Mere Humsafar, and Jaan-e-Jahan, Qasim brings a strong track record of emotional storytelling to the table.

When asked about the project, Qasim Ali Mureed shared, “It’s a love story – a pure Pakistani drama.”

  • Dil Wali Gali is like no other Ramzan drama you have seen

Dil Wali Gali is like no other Ramzan drama you have seen

Ramzan dramas have become a yearly tradition, providing lighthearted entertainment to spectators in the holy month. But Dil Wali Gali Mein has stood out by introducing something new to the screen. The drama has rapidly become a fan favorite thanks to its superb cast, interesting writing, and context, which feels both familiar and exciting.

The drama centers around Khadija, affectionately called Dejo (Sajal Aly), and Murtaza, also known as Muji (Hamza Sohail), a newlywed couple as they navigate their life. With its blend of humor, daily challenges, and tender moments, the drama has established a strong connection with its audience.

At the core of the story is Dejo, a determined yet compassionate woman, and Muji, a mischievous yet genuinely caring individual. Their journey to marriage, however, was far from conventional. When the two found themselves at court for their nikah, an unforeseen twist occurred. The judge recognized Muji’s mother, who runs a school, and promptly summoned her. This led to an intense argument between the two families, with emotions escalating. However, through the judge’s mediation, they managed to settle their differences and ultimately consented to an arranged marriage. This unique beginning to their relationship shapes the drama, which explores the intricacies of marriage and familial expectations.

In contrast to typical romantic dramas that often feature exaggerated conflicts, Dil Wali Gali Mein captures its appeal in the simple, everyday moments that contribute to the success of relationships—misunderstandings, compromises, and the delight of finding love post-marriage. Dejo and Muji’s exchanges highlight the highs and lows of married life in a manner that feels both humorous and relatable. Their relationship is marked by witty banter, minor disagreements, and instances of unexpected tenderness, making their dynamic enjoyable to observe.

What distinguishes Dil Wali Gali Mein is its backdrop. The vibrant neighborhood serves almost as a character in its own right, brimming with intriguing subplots and lively personalities. From curious neighbors to relatives with their own agendas, the drama vividly portrays a world that feels engaging and alive. The supporting cast, comprising Saba Faisal, Uzma Hassan, and Saqib Sumeer, enriches the narrative, ensuring that the story encompasses not just the main couple, but also the community surrounding them.

Sajal Aly’s decision to portray Dejo appears to be a shift from her typically intense roles. Here, she showcases a softer, more playful aspect, lending a natural and effortless quality to the character. Meanwhile, Hamza Sohail continues to demonstrate his versatility as an actor. His depiction of Muji encompasses both humor and sincerity, rendering him a lovable character.

As the drama unfolds, it will be intriguing to observe the evolution of Dejo and Muji’s relationship. Will their affection deepen, or will new obstacles challenge their connection? With its combination of humor, romance, and relatable experiences, Dil Wali Gali Mein has successfully carved out its niche as a refreshing Ramadan drama that delivers both entertainment and warmth.
