    Babar Azam, the Men in Green’s all-format captain, and Shadab Khan, the white-ball vice-captain, have demonstrated their leadership talents on the cricket field, they have also demonstrated their humanitarian abilities by distributing food items for Iftar to unprivileged people on the streets of Lahore.

    Following the distribution of Iftar, both cricket stars spoke to the media. Babar and Shadab were both in good spirits as they joked around with the press. Fans praised the duo’s generous gesture as the video of them serving food to the needy went viral on social media.

    Babar joked that journalists should refrain from asking any cricket-related inquiries.

    After a busy home season that featured the seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and Australia’s historic trip to the country, Pakistan’s national team players got some well-deserved respite.

    The Green Shirts’ next international assignment will be versus the West Indies in June 2022, when they visit Pakistan for a three-match One-Day International series.

    The communication manager of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Ibrahim Badees has recently shared that Shadab Khan has never dismissed Sarfaraz Ahmed in the history of Pakistan Super League (PSL). The former captain does not want the all-rounder Khan to dismiss him in today’s clash between Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United.

    Taking to Twitter, Badees wrote: “Shadab Khan has never dismissed Sarfaraz Ahmed in the history of HBL PSL. Can the leggie make it today?” Replying to the tweet, Sarfaraz said: “Same he rahne den plz In Shaa Allah. (Let it be the same please.)”

    While Shadab joking replied to Sarfaraz and said: “Kaptan Chalo Allah kary same he rahy laken hum match jeet jain. (Captain, I hope it remains the same but wish that we win today)”.

    Islamabad United currently finds itself at the number two position with one win in two matches. Despite losing the second game, they are confident of winning the third match on Thursday.

    Quetta Gladiators, too, is coming off a defeat at the hands of the Multan Sultans. They currently have one victory in two games and, thus, finds itself at number three on the table.

    Pakistan’s all-rounder Shadab Khan has recently admitted in an interview that he used to provoke former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed to scold cricketers when they were fielding.

    Shadab recently appeared on Hum News’ Morning Show and talking about his favourite captain Sarfaraz, he shared: “He (Sarfaraz) used to get angry during the field. Not only on Babar but any player who did not put effort in the field, I used to go to Saifi Bhai (Sarfaraz) as I mostly fielded beside him and tell him to scold the players.”

    Wicket-keeper-batter Sarfaraz is famous for his temper. The former captain has often received criticism for his strict on-field conduct even as Pakistan’s skipper, dishing out swear words to his teammates. But the right-handed batter had earlier defended his actions, stating that what happens on the field is restricted to it and not beyond that.

    Shadab recently opened up to his fans during a question-and-answer (Q&A) session on Twitter and spoke about a wide range of topics, including cricket and his teammates.

    Khan also revealed that his favourite captain for the seventh edition of the PSL would be former Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz, who is playing for Quetta Gladiators.

    He also revealed that Sarfraz is the one who gave him his nickname Shaddy.

    Pakistani all-rounder Shadab Khan has come back to Pakistan from Australia after playing in the Big Bash League (BBL) for Sydney Sixers. A video of him is circulating on social media in which he can be seen coming out of the airport with bags in his hands.

    On his arrival, the Pakistan vice-captain was surprised by his best friend Hassan Ali who came to pick him up from the airport.

    Shadab initially struggled to recognize the pacer, who had disguised himself as a chauffeur driver holding Shadab’s name. However, after a brief moment of hesitation, Shadab finally got a hold of everything that was happening.

    Shadab featured for four matches for Sixers and was advised to head back due to increasing cases of Covid-19 and with Pakistan Super League (PSL) approaching.

    During the four games, Shadab scored 20 runs in total and returned the figures of 0/8 against Renegades, 1-36 against Scorchers, and 0-27 against Heat.

    Pakistan all-format captain Babar Azam and other Pakistani cricketers took to their social media to wish their fans on New Year.

    Taking to Twitter, Babar wrote: “Wishing you all a happy and prosperous #NewYear2022! May the new year be filled with lots of positives, joy and peace.”

    Other cricketers including Shadab Khan, Hassan Ali, Shoaib Malik, Imad Wasim, among others also took to their social media to wish their fans.

    Veteran cricketer Saqlain Mushtaq also wished his fans, hoping that this year brings “joy” and “happiness” in their lives.

    Earlier, Babar also reviewed Pakistan cricket team’s performance this whole year. The 27-year-old batter also shared that beating India in the T20 World Cup match was his favourite moment of the year.

    Australian cricketer Lloyd Pope has reportedly said that he is eager to learn from Pakistan’s leg-spinner Shadab Khan in Big Bash League (BBL). It is reported that the cricketer has emerged as the key player in their pursuit of the third BBL title.

    Shadab was listed as substitute in the match against the Sydney Thunder, with the Sydney Sixers hopeful that the Pakistani star’s Covid-19 test result would come back in time for him to begin playing, local media reported.

    “It’s incredibly thrilling for us to add another international player to our squad,” Pope said.

    Pope said that he had a brief conversation with Shadab from a distance of two metres while the Pakistani spinner wore a mask.

    “I’m excited to pick his brain and see what he has to offer. He has extensive international experience and, particularly as a leggie, he will bring a great deal to the table. I’m keen on spending time with him,” Pope said.

    Earlier, BBL franchise Sixers had announced the signing of Pakistan all-rounder and vice-captain Khan for the eleventh edition of the league.

    Sydney Sixers took to Twitter to announce the signing of the Pakistani star spinner, who has also performed well with the bat for Pakistan recently.

    “We’ve signed Pakistani star spinner Shadab Khan for the remainder of #BBL11,” tweeted Sydney Sixers.

    Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan is excited to be a part of defending Big Bash League (BBL) champions Sydney Sixers. He said that he is hopeful to contribute to his team’s success.

    Taking to Twitter, Shadab wrote: “I have always enjoyed playing in Australia and the @BBL , these are different and tough conditions so you get to learn a lot. Really excited to be part of the @SixersBBL. Hopefully I can contribute to my team’s success.”

    Shadab will be playing the remainder of the season in a timely addition for the injury-hit Sixers, who have lost off-spinner Ben Manenti to a season-ending neck injury while Australia’s Steve O’Keefe is currently on the sidelines with a calf strain.

    He has returned to the BBL after a brief three-match stint with Brisbane Heat in the 2017-18 season.

    The 23-year-old cricketer impressed everyone with his performance at the recent T20 World Cup with nine wickets from six games, including 4 for 26 against the winners Australia in the semi-finals. Shadab, however, was wicket-less in his past two T20Is against West Indies earlier this month.

    As the lower-order batter, Shadab averages 18.33 with a strike rate of 136.81 from 64 T20Is and has also scored three half-centuries in his six-Test career.

    Shadab is the fifth Pakistani to sign in this season’s BBL and joins Melbourne Stars’ trio Haris Rauf, Syed Faridoun and Ahmad Daniyal, and Sydney Thunder’s Mohammad Hasnain.

    Pakistan’s young all-rounder Shadab Khan recently hosted a question and answer (Q&A) session on Twitter and opened up about several things like his favourite wicket-keeper, talked about his marriage, Pakistan Super League (PSL) and wicket-keeper-batters Sarfaraz Ahmed and Mohammad Rizwan.

    Khan hosted the session and asked fans to use the hashtag #AskShadab, and as soon as the clock struck 9pm, Twitterati flooded the cricketer’s timeline with their questions.

    #AskShadab also became the top trend in Pakistan within an hour.

    Fans had several questions about PSL, with a user seeking Khan’s opinion on whether Shaheen Shah Afridi could lead the Lahore Qalandars or not.

    At this, Khan said that Shaheen can “absolutely” lead the Qalandars.

    Abdul Wahab asked which franchise would Khan choose if given the choice. He responded that he would always pick Islamabad United unless they decide to release him.

    Khan also revealed that his favourite captain for the seventh edition of the PSL would be former Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed who is playing for Quetta Gladiators.

    A fan asked why did Khan, at times, adopts a rude attitude on the field, “especially with juniors, and in the PSL”.

    At this, Khan said he “never” acted rudely and that juniors were his brothers.

    As everyone at the national team calls Shadab “Shaddy”, a fan asked who started calling him that? He replied: Saifi Bhai (Sarfaraz).

    Journalist Imran Siddique asked Khan why did he still call Sarfaraz “kaptaan” despite him not being in command anymore.

    At this, Khan said that Sarfaraz had taught him how to lead, how to look after his team, how to fight for his country, and his teammates.
    “My teacher will always be my captain,” he said.

    A similar question was asked about Mohammad Rizwan, and in response, Khan termed the wicket-keeper-batter a “champion”.

    He also termed Rizwan as number one wicket-keeper.

    Batsman Sharjeel Khan asked the all-rounder when was he planning to tie the knot. In response, Shadab said: “Sharjeel bhai Aap he baat kaar lain ab number send karta houn” [I am sending you the number Sharjeel bhai. Speak on my behalf]”.

    Khan termed skipper Babar Azam as number one.

    In the ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings, Dawid Malan is back to number one among batters with Pakistan captain Babar Azam unable to hold on to the top spot after two matches of their series against the West Indies.

    Shaheen headlines the bowling rankings in the latest weekly update for men, which is carried out on Wednesdays and includes the second Test between Bangladesh and Pakistan, which Pakistan won by an innings and eight runs to clinch full ICC World Test Championship points from the series.

    Shaheen has continued his climb with three wickets in the match while off-spinner Sajid Khan has zoomed up 52 places to 49th after a 12-wicket haul that won him the Player of the Match award. Mohammad Rizwan (up five places to 18th) and Fawad Alam (up seven places to 20th) have moved up in the batters’ list after their useful half-centuries.

    In the ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings, Dawid Malan is back to number one among batters with Pakistan captain Babar Azam unable to hold on to the top spot after two matches of their series against the West Indies. He moves to number 3 while Mohammad Rizwan has retained his fourth spot.

    Pakistan’s Haider Ali has gained 86 slots to reach 98th position after scores of 68 and 31 while the rankings for bowlers see spinner Shadab Khan back in the top 10, moving up five slots to ninth position.

    Fast bowler Haris Rauf is up three places to 19th while Mohammad Nawaz has gained 29 slots to reach 54th position. For the West Indies, left-arm spinner Akeal Hosen has gained 73 slots and is now 68th among bowlers.

    Team Pakistan has won two out of three matches in the three-match T20I series with West Indies in Karachi. Babar has scored 0 and 7 runs in both the matches respectively. While the Men in Green are set to play their third and final match against the Windies tomorrow (Thursday) in National Stadium Karachi.

    Pakistan’s right-arm spinner Shadab Khan recently hosted a question and answer (Q&A) session on his Instagram. The prodigious turner of the ball answered to some interesting questions. From his wedding date to Pakistan’s all-format captain Babar Azam’s phone number, Shadab had hilarious responses to the questions.

    A fan asked the young cricketer that when is he getting married? Answering to the question, he said: “The question is good but I don’t have the answer.”

    One of the netizens asked Shadab to share his number. Not only his but the fan also asked for Babar Azam’s number as well.

    Replying to the fan, he said: “Bhai q nahe abhi bhajta houn. (Why not brother. Sending in a while.)”

    Another fan said: “Where does Babar Azam live?” He jokingly replied: “I am not completely sure about it but I think he lives in his home.”

    One of the fans asked that where does the 23-year-old cricketer live? He said that he lives in Rawalpindi. While another one asked for the exact location, Shadab sarcastically said: “Will be sending you the full address, it shall be easy for you.”

    One of the question was hilarious as it read: “Plz marry me bhai.” Shadab laughed at it and replying, he said: “Brothers and sisters can’t marry each other.”

    While thanking his fans for the concern of his marriage, Shadab said: “I have realised that all of you are so much concerned about my marriage. Thank you for your interest.”

    One of the fans asked about his thoughts on Babar Azam’s maiden Test wicket and his bowling. He said that “Babar is trying to take our place (in the team) but he did really well.”

    Babar Azam took his maiden Test wicket on Wednesday as Pakistan clinched the two-match Test series against Bangladesh in Dhaka on the same day. Pakistan white-washed the hosts with an exquisite victory of 2-0.

    The Test team has flown back home and are set to play against West Indies in Karachi, starting from December 13.
