Defamation case filed against Aryan Khan’s The Ba***ds of Bollywood

Former officer of India’s Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Sameer Wankhede has filed an INR 2 crore defamation suit in the Delhi High Court against Netflix, Red Chillies Entertainment and others involved in the Netflix series The Ba***ds of Bollywood, alleging that the show falsely portrays him in negative light.

The series, which marks the directorial debut of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan, has drawn criticism for its close parallels to Wankhede’s real-life role in the 2021 cruise drug case involving him.

Wankhede claims that a character in the show is clearly modeled after him and undermines the credibility of anti-drug agencies. He also objected to a scene where the national motto Satyamev Jayate is followed by an obscene gesture — an act he says violates the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971, and various provisions under the IT Act and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

The timing of the series’ release, while legal proceedings related to the 2021 drug case are still ongoing, is another major point of contention. Wankhede argues it could prejudice public opinion and damage his reputation further.

Wankhede has pledged to donate any awarded damages to the Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital, framing the case as one of principle rather than profit.

Meanwhile, Aryan Khan’s much-awaited debut The Ba***ds of Bollywood on Netflix is being wildly discussed on social media for being loaded with satire, drama, fighting scenes and masala.

The series is also filled with A-list Bollywood cameos, including those by Shah Rukh, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Ranveer Singh, Badshah, Karan Johar, Ranbir Kapoor, Disha Patani and Emraan Hashmi among others.

In an interview on Hasna Mana Hai, Sahir Lodhi shared his candid thoughts when an audience member mentioned that people often claim Shah Rukh Khan imitates him. The show’s host, Tabish Hashmi, urged Lodhi to address the “elephant in the room.”

“Alright, just for the sake of being humorous, I don’t know why he does that [copies me],” he said, to which the audience responded with laughter.

“But on a serious note, there’s no question about it. Look, two people can look similar,” Sahir added.

The TV host expressed his admiration for Shah Rukh Khan, acknowledging his immense success in the media industry.

“He’s a very big personality, working in major media. More power to him. I’ve met him a couple of times, interviewed him, and had other meetings with him as well. He’s a wonderful man, that’s where it ends,” Lodhi shared.

However, he made it clear that comparisons were unnecessary, “I live in Pakistan, and I hope that after 18, 19 years, my work will speak for itself. That should be enough, instead of being compared to Shah Rukh Khan or anyone else.

“I’m happy where I am. I’m happy with whatever I do. This is my place, my country, and my name is Sahir Lodhi, nothing else,” he concluded, receiving applause from the audience.

Man arrested for stepping out naked in front of polio worker

A man has been arrested for harassing a polio worker in Surjani Town, Karachi after she complained that he appeared naked in front of her to sexually harass her.

The police report suggests that the polio worker had gone to the flat of the man in the afternoon of December 18 to administer the vaccine as part of her duty. The man then appeared naked in front of the polio worker, exposing himself to her.

The Surjani Town police registered a case on the complaint of the polio worker, after which the man, named Faiq, was arrested from KDA flats.

The female polio worker in the complaint pointed out, “I instantly left the place after the man came out naked in front of me and told the official in charge of my department about the incident.”

CCTV footage of the arrest emerged online in which police can be seen arresting the man as the woman polio worker identified.

Previously, a man from Surjani Yousuf Goth stripped naked in front of a passerby woman.
The public display of indecency was recorded on camera, where he could be seen enjoying himself while his friends cheered him on.

It was later posted online, garnering backlash and prompting the local police to arrest the man for making obscene gestures.

However, the police informed the media that no complaint was filed against the man from the woman’s side but the action was taken for public interest.

The man confessed to harassing the woman by exposing himself only as part of a challenge given to him by friends, but someone filmed it and posted it online.

Moreover, a polio team was also attacked in the slum areas of Korangi, Karachi. It resulted in two police officials and polio workers being injured.

The team included Saba, Rabia, and Dr Khalid, accompanied by policemen Taufiq, Jahangir, and a lady police constable, Aniza Naz.

The family members used a shovel to attack the team and tore the police officers’ uniforms while slapping them and snatching their phones.

Upon receiving the information, a large contingent of police arrived at the scene and arrested the violent family members.

Notably, the federal government launched a four-day campaign this Monday that aimed to cover 143 districts across Pakistan, with over 400,000 polio workers going door-to-door, aiming to immunise more than 45 million children over the age of five against the Polio virus, which induces a life-long disability.

Shah Rukh finally reveals how it felt to work with his sons

Shah Rukh Khan, the king of Bollywood, has always made headlines with his iconic roles, but his latest project brings a personal touch to the screen.

The Dunki actor opened up about his experience of working with his sons Aryan Khan and AbRam in Mufasa: The Lion King, set to release in cinemas on December 20, 2024

In a candid interview with Walt Disney Studios India, Shah Rukh Khan shared how his first collaboration with Aryan in 2019, for The Lion King was a memorable one, but this time, he got to work with both of his children, Aryan, who voices Simba, and AbRam who plays young Mufasa.

“There are a couple of differences, when we did ‘The Incredibles’, dubbing was a little difficult compared to now. But the common thing is that both of them worked with a lot of patience, which I didn’t think they would be able to do at such a young age. But Aryan and Abram both prepared a lot. I think they sat and learned their lines in Hindi.”

“The difference is that when Aryan did it, more people spoke in Hindi, so it was a bit easier for him. But now, after 10-15 years, I think people are more into speaking English. But I’m happy that AbRam worked hard and learned his 20-25 lines, sitting with his sister. So, the whole family was involved.”  The Jawaan actor added.

“Both their voices are amazing; they are still a bit thin, but what excites me is that when I hear Aryan now, his voice sounds very different from The Incredibles. Similarly, I hope that 8-10 years from now, when I hear AbRam’s voice, it will be a great memory for me.”

The Bollywood king also expressed how precious the experience is for him, saying, “It’s a great memory to keep the voices of Aryan and AbRam in a film forever, as a record.”

Earlier, last year after Suhana’s entry into the world of entertainment, Aryan Khan is set to follow in his father Shah Rukh Khan’s footsteps with his directorial debute.

On Tuesday, the eldest son of the superstar shared a snippet of the ad of the upcoming streetwear brand ‘D’YAVOL X?’ which starred the Bollywood Badshah himself.

The project has received praise from social media users, with plenty of applaud for Aryan’s acting and his direction skills, saying that he had a bright future ahead of him.

Shahrukh Khan has positive thoughts about Pakistan:  Shakeel Siddiqui

When it comes to Bollywood legends, few have made as lasting an impact as Bollywood king Shahrukh Khan. The superstar is as popular in Pakistan as he is in India.

And now we know his views about Pakistan.

Appearing as a guest on Hasna Mana Hai, Shakeel Siddiqui shared an insightful on the actor’s attitude towards Pakistan, revealing a side of SRK many may not know.

A member from the audience asked, “My question is, what was your experience like working with him? And what are ShahRukh Khan’s thoughts about Pakistan?”

Shakeel Siddiqui replied, “‘Let me answer the second part first. He has very positive thoughts about Pakistan. In fact, many of his family members still live in Peshawar, including his cousins.”

Shakeel also spoke about his first meeting with Shah Rukh, which wasn’t during a movie shoot but at a show in New Jersey.

“As for my experience with him, my first experience with Shah Rukh Khan wasn’t on TV. It was in New Jersey during a show that took place in a casino near Trump’s place, actually, not in Chicago, it was a two-hour drive from New Jersey.”

Siddiqui added a memorable incident saying, “There was an incident where Shah Rukh was detained at the airport for about three hours, and his luggage was also left behind in England. This was the same show for which he had come. That’s where I met him for the first time. We did several shows together.”

Host Tabish Hashmi asked, “Did Shah Rukh know you from before, especially from Bakra Qiston Pe?”

“Yes, it was actually quite funny. There was a man from the Birani Group (a big group that has connections with stars like Amitabh Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai). They invited Shah Rukh, and he came himself. When he saw me, he said, ‘Oh, it’s you, Shakil Bhai!’ That’s Shah Rukh for you, he treats everyone with respect.”

“I have noticed this quality in him many times. I think he even mentioned it on TV. He’s a big-hearted person. People don’t become great just like that. A great man makes others feel great too, and that’s something I’ve seen in him,” Shakeel Siddiqui responded.

  • Don’t ask if you don’t want to know: Mahira on why she ‘always talks about’ SRK

Don’t ask if you don’t want to know: Mahira on why she ‘always talks about’ SRK

Pakistani actress Mahira Khan has cleared the air regarding claims that she is always spotted talking about Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan.

Recently, during the Aalami Urdu Conference 2024, she was asked if she ever gets tired of being asked about the ‘King of Bollywood’.

“Do you ever get annoyed with this topic… that whenever there’s an interview, they always ask how it felt to work with Shah Rukh Khan? Do you think its fine? I mean he’s a superstar… so people ask… but do you think it’s too much?” host Waseem Badami asked.

To which Mahira said she could never have “enough of him”.

“Well, I will never have enough of him, but I think when someone asks me, I answer. Then people think I’m talking about him, which I never do… what I feel is that they shouldn’t even ask me.”

Mahira is the only Pakistani actress to work with Shah Rukh. Consequently, The Raees actress is also the only Pakistani star who has repeatedly been asked about her experience of working with him.

The film Raees was released in 2017, Mahira Khan plays the female opposite Bollywood king Shah Rukh.

Mahira portrays Aasiya, Raees’ wife, a character who is strong, supportive, and plays a crucial role in his personal life. Her performance was widely appreciated for its emotional depth and grace, standing out amidst the intense action and drama.

The film was directed by Rahul Dholakia and written by Harit Mehta, Niraj Shukla and Rahul Dholakia.

Earlier,Indian film director Rahul Dholaika considered top Bollywood actresses like Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, and Kaitrina for his film Raees, but none were the right fit. Instead, actress Mahira Khan caught his attention and was chosen to play Aasiya opposite Shahrukh Khan.

During his appearance as a guest on Mashable India, director Rahul Dholaika explained why he picked Mahira Khan for his film Raees.

“We wanted an 80s Muslim girl. Number one criteria is Hindi, secondly, her Urdu should have a little twang, if she has it, is even better. The other is she has to be innocent. Okay, now you have Shahrukh, who is 50, so you need someone whose screen age is 30-something or 35. You need somebody who is at least 30 plus or around 30 as an actress, now, an actress around 30 who is innocent. There are very few of them. There was Deepika, there was Kareena, and there was Anushka. So, there were these three or four heroines that were there.”

As the casting process went on, it became clear that finding an actress who fit all the requirements for Aasiya was not easy, Dholaika explained, saying, “So now, if you have these three or four heroines, then either they are too expensive, or the role is too small for them. So we went through that gamut, and we said, ‘Yeah, Sonam, Katrina,’ you know, went through the whole list of it. And then at the end of it all, we decided this is not working for us. If it’s working for Farhan, it’s not working for Shahrukh, it’s not working for Shahrukh and Farhan, not working for me. Now, you don’t want him to romance Alia, you know, or something like that.”

“I think Gauri’s mom had seen Mahira, and my mom had seen Mahira independently. I told the casting director, ‘Do you know her? What do you think of her?’ So, he said, ‘She’s here in BB Fashion.’ That’s how it happened,” the Raees director added.

Police find new clues in Shahrukh Khan death threat case

The lawyer who issued death threats to Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan has reportedly been actively collecting his sensitive details online.

The officials, during the investigation, discovered that Faizan Khan, the accused, extensively researched and gathered information about Khan’s son Aryan Khan and their family’s security and movement.
Before threatening to kill the actor and demanding India Rs 5 million in extortion, Faizan complied details through online searches.

The Bandra police uncovered the findings when they recovered a second mobile phone belonging to the accused.

Faizan called the Bandra police on November 7 landline and directly threatened to kill Shah Rukh Khan.

The accused, who have been in judicial custody for 10 days, purportedly dodged and evaded questions related to the collection of such information during his police interrogation.

The Bandra police came up as prompt responders to securing public figures. The incident is a wake-up call for increased vigilance in the protection of sensitive data in this age of digitalization.

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has also faced multiple threats over the years, especially from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. But now, Shah Rukh Khan is in the news for receiving a threatening call from unknown callers, demanding Indian rupees 50 lacs. The call, made on November 5, led to an investigation by police from both Mumbai and Chhattisgarh.

According to Indian media reports, authorities from both Mumbai and Raipur are now investigating the incident.
Chief Superintendent of Police Ajay Kumar confirmed the case, stating that Mumbai Police had informed their Raipur counterparts about the case registered at Bandra Police Station.

This is not the first time Shahrukh Khan has received threats.

In October, the actor was also targeted after the success of his films Pathaan and Jawan, prompting Mumbai Police to increase his security to a Y+ level, providing him with six armed personnel for around-the-clock protection.

Reports printed in Indian media have said that WhatsApp messages sent to the Mumbai Traffic Police stated, “Salman Khan will be killed if the money is not paid.”

After the fresh threat, a case has been registered against the unknown person who sent the WhatsApp messages while police search for the suspect.

A 20-year-old man who threatened to kill Bollywood superstar Salman Khan two days ago was arrested from Noida in Uttar Pradesh.

According to reports, the 20-year-old had threatened to kill Zeeshan Siddiqui along with Salman Khan.

Khan’s close friend, Muslim politician, Baba Siddiqui was killed in Mumbai this month.

The Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for Baba Siddiqui’s murder. Apart from this, incidents of firing outside Salman Khan’s residence have also raised concerns about his safety.
